I know I haven't updated much but I'm trying to get my inspiration back, hence the new stories, and with school and my job plus my personal life I find it hard to keep my mind on the topic. So I hope this chapter makes up for lost time.

A few days after my body went into its coma sleep, Steve asked me out on a date, this time with flowers in his hands and a sweet blush on his cheeks. I smiled at him, taking the flowers and telling him yes. The largest smile I have ever seen was on his face as he rubbed his neck with slight nervousness. When I asked him where he would be taking me he told me it would be a surprise. I rolled my eyes and we went back to our schedule of shows, signing autographs, and taking pictures with children. One even asked me of I was Mrs. America. Steve blushed and I told him maybe to which a few children wanted my autograph. Steve and I smiled at each other before we bit the children good-bye.

"Where are we going Steve?" I asked as our driver went past our home and towards the city center where shops were still open along with a few places to eat.

"You look perfect the way you are so why not have our date now?" He asked and took my hand in his. We got out of the car, biding the driver a good night, before we went inside a restaurant where it had a romantic setting to it. One of the waiters took us to a table, Steve pulling my chair out for me before sitting down himself. We were handed menus to which Steve couldn't read some of them because they were in French. I explained to Steve what they were saying and he said that it was impressive to know a different language.

"I can speak German, French, English, and a bit of Russian but not much. My Uncle made sure that I could read and well as understand the words in-case I were to question someone to just to simply figure a way out of a situation that required me to talk in a different tongue." I told him. After we ordered, we sat in silence for a while. It's not an awkward silence but a comfortable one.

Then we starting asking questions and talking.

And we talked and talked till our food arrived.

We laugh at each others jokes and cracks, sympathized with sad stories about our past, and we actually had a good time. I never thought a date, would be this...peaceful and relaxing.

Then we shared desert.

A small lemon cake that ended dinner perfectly. After Steve paid the bill we walked down the street towards a park near by. We talked some more, pacing ourselves until we came across a gazebo.

"Come on Steve, let's dance." I said, trying to drag him along.

"You know I can't dance well. I don't want to ruin today by stepping on your feet." He said as we stood in the middle of the gazebo. I gave him a look to which he sighed before placing his hands around me. "Of course, I can never say no to you." He said and we started to slow dance. Steve kept looking at his feet, making my giggle before I placed a finger under his chin so he would look at me.

"Keep your eyes on mine. You'll never miss a step if you do." I said and he rested his forehead against mine. He smiled and I smiled as we danced to music in our heads. He didn't step on my foot once and by the end of the dance he seemed very pleased that he didn't. "Come on, let's go home." I said and we did even though we didn't want it to end.

The world seemed so peaceful but we knew it was just an illusion.

The real war was nowhere near us.

So we accepted this peace while we could.

When we got home, Steve did the unexpected. Something daring and not like him as soon as the door closed behind us. I expected to get ready for bed seeing as though it was late into the night, bordering the morning. Steve took my arm, spun me around, and kissed me with the most passion I've ever had someone put into a kiss.

His rough hand cupped my face, eyed closed as our lips met once more over and over. My hands rested on his chest, feeling the steady pounding of his heart against them. Something was stirring inside me, my stomach turning into knots in a need I wanted to feel as one hand moved into my hair.

Then our feet began to move.

Mine went backwards while his moved forwards until the back of my knees hit the bed but we didn't stop there. Steve braced myself over me, resting his on his forearms, our breathing mixing as he leaned on top of me. Our bodies were almost touching, our eyes locked and slowly Steve lowered himself down on top of me. Our lips began a battle of their own, my hands roaming, exploring everywhere as his own tangled in my hair, pulling slightly. Noises came from the both of us between heavy panting and soft moans.

"Steve." I moaned as he broke away from my lips to move down to my neck. "We need...to stop." I said breathlessly. Steve stopped his assault to look at me. His eyes were dark with lust and passion and I knew mine were the same as well.

"Thank you." He said breathlessly as well with a smile. "I want to do this right." He rested his forehead against mine. "To be perfect."

"There will never be a time when it's perfect Steve but I promise you," I took his hand in my hands. "when this war is over and when we both come back from this, there will be something for us."

"Be mine. Be my girlfriend." He said in a rushed haste that the words almost melted together where I couldn't almost hear it.

"Yes."
