Chapters or paragraphs that are written in italics represent memories or people looking back. Also the detectives at the end are Belgium.

This is just a little chapter to help explain a bit of what happened in the last.

Changing

Megan looked down at the lifeless eyes and they stared back from the crumpled body lying at the bottom of the stairs, trying to break into her soul but something was stopping them. She couldn't feel anything, no guilt at what she'd done and she'd be terrified but she couldn't feel that either.

'Get out of there' that was what Yvonne had said 'do it then get out and get on a plane to London.'

She had what she came for; it was unbelievable to think that that one piece of paper could cause such a security risk. Well as least now it had been neutralised and she didn't have to worry. No one would know it was her, she was sure of that and Yvonne would protect her.

She bent forward and removed the wallet from ex-agent Dawson's pocket, removed the cash, his credit cards and his Torchwood ID then to keep up the pretence of a robbery she took his watch and anything else that looked expensive, put them all into an evidence bag and left, walking back up the stairs to street level and she never looked back.

She was left under no illusion that something inside her was changing.

'Well what do you think?' The Belgium DI Cage asked his young Sargent

'No money in the wallet, cards gone… looks like he's missing a wedding ring, looks like a robbery gone wrong sir.'

'Oh yeah how'd you figure?'

'Well sir mainly considering the part of town I mean most of regulars wouldn't dare come down here. A well-dressed man like him caught someone's attention, they followed him, there was a struggle and he fell over the banister. Dangerous things are stairs sir.'
