Greeks Bearing Gifts

Jack walked up to the Tourist Centre that had become sort of become Megan's job. He didn't really need to be up here but it had been a dull morning with only the call out to the skeleton and Jack needed a break from staring at that weird… metal… thing. Anyway Megan always proved an entertaining distraction.

"Morning Megan."
"Technically I think it's more afternoon Jack." She replied, not looking up from the mirror she'd balanced on a pencil pot so she could tie her hair up. He watched her put it into a loose pony tail and use her hands to check it was in the middle of her head, he'd seen her do this before but had never really thought about it until she started putting the pencil pot and mirror back into the exact same place as they had been before.

"Do you both have OCD" Megan looked round startled and Jack took a moment to congratulate himself, it wasn't often he managed to creep up on the siblings.

"What do you mean?" she asked

"Well you know OCD, the way you're both so tidy and everything."

"We're not OCD Jack"

"Huh, could have fouled me."
"That's not hard." Jack glared at her but ignored the insult.

"Well then how do you explain it? Because you're both the same."

"Jack I grew up with a general as a dad, it tends to have an effect on you. I mean we used to call him The General, he was a stick lover for tidiness and respect and order."

"Okay that explains you you're like that but why Ianto? And how come he seems to be worse than you?"

"Do you know how often Ianto used to come to our house, I mean we lived over the road from each other and he was best friends with my brother Patrick."

"Okay so why is he worse than you?"

"I got 'contaminated' when I went to university, Ianto didn't." Megan explained to him as she continued to tidy away "But even before that keeping everything clean and in order was Ianto's way of dealing with things, not OCD just a… habit."

"Ah" well that made sense, he'd seen people do that before although he had a feeling Ianto was using it more as a survival tactic but at least he had an answer to another mystery.

"So is there something I can do for you Jack?" Megan asked turning to look at him fully now that everything was away.

"No, just wanted a break from being down there."

"Oh are Owen and Gwen flirting again?"

"Constantly. I really, probably should have a word with them about that."

"A word of advice Jack, I'd do it sooner rather than later."

Jack nodded and took a deep breath, giving Megan his big grin which in turn made her smile.

It was a slow day in the tourist office, not that it was ever really busy but today just seemed to drag. Instead she decided to go down into the hub to help Tosh with the programme she was running or help Ianto.

There will be more of this chapter to come but due to my track record I won't make any promises of when it will be up.
