Hi everyone sorry about the last chapter, I promise it wasn't intentional, I'll try and reload it and hope that works. Please bare with me!

Anyway hope you enjoy this chapter and please remember to review.

Tosh sat alone on her sofa, thinking about what had happened, what she had allowed to happen due to her own stupidity. She had allowed herself to be manipulated by Mary and now the team would hate her, did hate her.

Well maybe not Ianto, he had been very supportive of her when he was taking her statement and had made her a very spoiling cup of tea, so yes maybe not Ianto, after all he knew how it felt to be used by someone you love. Jack hadn't seemed angry at her when they had talked on the Plaza, more disappointed that she hadn't thought she could go to him, so yes maybe he didn't hate her either. But Megan, she was Tosh's friend and she had tried to read her thoughts. What if Megan never forgave her? She might never talk to Tosh again and she didn't think she could bear it if that happened.

She was so caught up in her own thoughts she almost missed the knocking at her door, she certainly hadn't been expecting visitors.

She opened her front door and standing there holding two pizzas and a bottle of wine was Megan.

"What are doing here? I thought you all hated me." She looked into Meg's eyes almost afraid at what she might find, but there was just concern, no anger there or pity.

Megan shook her head and smiled "I thought you could use the company." Tosh returned her small smiled and let her in. They put the pizzas on plates, filled a couple of glasses and sat back on the sofa. They ate in silence until Tosh couldn't take it any longer.

"I'm sorry," she said, putting her plate on the table.

"I know," Megan replied instantly, like she had been expecting it. She looked at Tosh's confused gave and continued. "You are not nor will you be the only person to let their heart rule their head."

"I heard peoples thoughts I had no right to."

"So?" Tosh gapped at her. "What? Well, what damage did you actually do? I mean you saved a family from getting murdered, that's a good thing, and you helped stop a mad, murdering alien that has been around for centuries, definitely a good thing. I mean who knows how long she would have carried on if we hadn't stopped her and when her ship did finally get found who knows who she would have used to get it back." Tosh knew what she was saying was true, she just couldn't accept it.

"But I heard private thoughts..."

"And? It's not like you heard anything we didn't already know." Tosh still didn't look convinced. "So, what did you hear? That Gwen and Owen are shagging at every opportunity and Ianto has bad days when he feels all the guilt and sadness from whatever he did come back to haunt him? We already knew that."

"And Jack?"

She laughed. "Who knows what is going on in Jacks head? What?" she asked. Tosh's head tilted to the side. It was a look Tosh always had when she was concentrating hard on something and Megan got a little worried.

"I didn't get much from you and when I pushed you ran off."

"Well despite what you might think about me going to university at 16 there isn't actually much going on in my head." Megan's breathing quickened and she broke eye contact with Tosh, looking at the wine glass in her hand instead.

"Megan, what's going on? What aren't you telling me?" Megan scrunched her eyes closed. No this wasn't right. This wasn't supposed to happen. "Please, Meg."

She let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding and opened her eyes. She looked at Tosh and when she saw nothing but kindness and concern in her eyes she knew she could trust her enough to tell her the truth. After all Ianto had said she could trust whoever she wanted.

"A year after Ianto and I joined Torchwood, a couple of soldiers took me down to where they kept the aliens and they started using this machine on one of them, a Teller. The machine interferes with their mind and causes so much pain, like being burnt from the inside out and feeling it all, but not being able to die. I just wanted them to stop hurting him… so… I stepped in front of it. Yeah, in hindsight that really hadn't been my best idea, but… I got blasted with it and to protect itself my mind sort of folded in on itself. I have no recollection of what happened until I woke up but it seems that the Teller used his physic powers to pull me back, but to do that he had to open my mind… and… it's been growing stronger, not much but enough that I get a headache when someone tries to mess with my head."

Megan was a little afraid to look at Tosh, worried at what she might see anger at being lied to, curiosity at what she was or pity, she didn't think she'd be able to stand that. But what she actually saw was relief, relief that Megan had told her the truth and joy that she had trusted Tosh enough to tell her.

"Thank you for trusting me and thank you for coming here. After the way I spoke to you the other day I really thought I'd have to spend the evening alone."

"Tosh, you're my best friend I could never ever hate you." Tosh smiled gratefully at her and gave the younger girl a small hug, being careful not to spill the remaining wine.

"Megan, you really should tell Jack about what happened."

"Yeah I know. Okay, okay. I will. Just as long as we can move onto a move cheerful topic. Please."

And they did. Tosh opened another bottle of wine after they finished the first and they chatted long into the night about experiences with the male (and female) kind, both the good, fun times and the epic, catastrophic disasters. By the time they finished two bottles, it was dark so Tosh insisted that Megan stay the night but she didn't mind after all she'd already told Ianto she'd be staying. Tosh made up the sofa for Megan and they both settled down for the night, neither wanting to be alone.
