A/N: Hi everyone! This is cindella204, PurpleBoo's beta and I wanted to sincerely apologize for having this chapter for TWO WEEKS. Yes, you read that correctly, she sent me this chapter two weeks ago :( I don't even have a good excuse for having it that long (I was busy, but not that busy), but please don't harass her for taking so long to update, okay? That was totally my fault, and if you feel the need to harass please PM me about it instead of bothering here in your reviews. I'll do better next time, promise.
Now it's purpleboo here! :D I so don't blame cindella204 and you shouldn't either :)
So hey guys! Regarding Trip to the Capitol, the last chapter is coming so yay :)Ugh, school has been a pain in my but so sorry if the chapters have been dragging.

Guest: I like them getting along too :) The chapter where Peeta's mom beats him so badly he needs Johanna's help is coming up very soon. Like in two chapter.
Okay I'm going to start doing a small summary before each chapter because I've been told some of my readers are getting the stories mixed up and they are getting confused so I hope this helps.
Last time on Freshman Year: After Annie apologized to everyone for being such a dumbass when she was drunk halloween night, Finnick told her it was time they take the next step in their relationship, by meeting Annie's parents. Detention with Annie, Finnick, Gloss, Peeta, Johanna, and Cashmere hadn't gone as horrible as one might thing. You would thing with everything that happened at homecoming with Annie slapping Cashmere, Cashmere being pissed that Gloss lost the crown to Finnick and Gale storming out after seeing Peeta and Johanna together, things would be bad. In the start it was bad but at the end they actually all had fun together. During detention, Annie asked Peeta and Cashmere for their help cooking for her dinner with Finnick and her parents. Annie also asked Johanna to keep Finnick and Gloss busy that day.
Chapter 17 "Change"
Gale's POV
Since Johanna, Peeta, Finnick, Annie and the other two had detention things have been different. Things didn't just change over night, but they kind of did.
The Monday after detention, all they could do was talk about how much fun detention was. They all say how much they wish I was there with them, especially Johanna. When the blonde twins pass us in the hall with their little Career pack, they wave hello, and my friends wave back. There were little chats in the hall between them here and there that week. Besides actually talking to them, not much changed. Then came Friday, Finnick's dinner with Annie's parents.
Johanna invited me to go out with her, Gloss and Finnick, but I declined because, true be told, I don't like Gloss. Annie asked me to help her out with dinner that night. I was going to say no for obvious reasons, but Annie's adorable smile got to me.
Despite my awkward encounters with Cashmere, it was fun helping out. Annie almost burned the chicken, Peeta had to go buy dessert since I accidently sat on the apple pie, and I had to go home really quick to change my pants. When I came back Annie went to take a shower and Peeta and Cashmere were talking peacefully with each other. There was no flirting, no arguing, nothing of the sort. They were talking and laughing. It was so strange seeing them so comfortable with each other. Cashmere left after a while to go help Annie pick out her outfit. Peeta could sense I was a bit disturbed by how close Cashmere and him seemed to me, but of course I didn't admit it.
Later that same night I called Jo at home. It took her a while to pick up the phone. As soon as she did though I could hear laughing in the background and the sound of the TV on. She told me that after Finnick left Gloss decide to stay. She then asked me to come by, but I said it was pretty late already. She understood and hung up on me without saying bye.
This week has been different. It isn't just a wave and a quick chat in the hallway. Now it's a hug hello and conversations all the way till the late bell rings. Annie has been late to almost every class this week because she was in the hall talking to one of the twins.
Gloss, Finnick, and Annie's relationship has changed greatly. It's no longer Gloss or Finnick for Annie anymore. It's Gloss and Finnick. Those three are always together, and when they aren't no one is jealous over the other. Annie and Finnick still do their couple thing, but that doesn't bother Gloss. When Gloss and Annie are doing their friend thing, Finnick doesn't so much as think twice about it. Then there is Finnick and Gloss without Annie, which is the weirdest. Not so long ago were they at each other's throats, but now they're inviting each other over for movie nights?
Peeta has never really hated either one of the twins, so I guess him being closer to them isn't that surprising to me.
I don't really care how close Gloss and Johanna are. What I'm concerned about is how close Cashmere and Johanna are. I was so pissed off that Johanna went to homecoming with Peeta that I did something stupid.
After I stormed off, I didn't leave the school. I was sitting on the school's front steps, just thinking about how mad and jealous I was. Thinking back on it, I was an idiot. I could have been having fun with my friends inside at the dance, but no. I chose to be the jealous idiot that night. Cashmere came out with her crown on and all. She saw me and we started talking. One thing lead to another and we started making out. It stopped there, though, thank God. It didn't mean anything, I was just upset, and Cash just wanted to piss off Johanna. At the time, so did I.
I was prepared to keep this all to myself. I was never going to tell Johanna about Cashmere, but now that her and Cashmere are close, I can't help but feel guilty. Johanna needs to know the truth about her so-called "friend", and if she never forgives me, so be it.
It's Wednesday today, the day before Thanksgiving. We (and the twins) are all over Peeta's place. He told us not to come because he'd be swamped with work. His parents had to take Delly to her house for Thanksgiving and left him all alone to run the bakery. Parents of the year.
Annie suggested we all go over and help him out today, so that was the plan. Peeta wasn't so thrilled when we all showed up, but he warmed up to the idea. Since Annie can't cook and Cashmere isn't much of a baker, they're both outside in front collecting donations for the Mellark's food can drive. Beside the two of them we have a system. Finnick takes the orders with his winning smile, Gloss gathers the supplies and helps Peeta out with baking since he knows his way around an oven, I package the baked goods, and Johanna washes the dirty dishes. In no time the mob of people running in and out of the bakery becomes one customer every ten minutes or so. The system works.
"Well, I think our job is done here," Annie says, coming inside with Cashmere. "There are about fifteen boxes filled with can food out front."
"The dishes are done too," Johanna says while she wipes her hands with a towel.
"I know I said I didn't want you guys to come, but thank you," Peeta says. "You helped out a lot and I'm grateful for it."
"I feel a hug coming on," I say as I throw my arms around Peeta.
We all join in for a group hug. Peeta gets squeezed and we laugh.
"You guys should get going though," Peeta says. "It's the day before Thanksgiving; I'm sure your families miss you guys."
"He has a point," Finnick says. "I'm supposed to be home helping my mom set up."
"Same here."
"Let's head out."
Everyone but Cashmere and I starts to get their stuff. That leaves us alone. It's awkward.
Cashmere is staring at me, and now I'm uncomfortable.
"So…that weather, huh?"
Cashmere rolls her eyes. "We have about five minutes before they come back, so if we're going to talk about this, we better talk fast."
"I'd rather not talk about it."
"Listen," Cashmere starts off. "I'm not going to tell anyone and I expect you to do the same. We don't want any problems, do we?"
Hold up, is she threating me?
"Johanna deserves to know what kind of friend you are."
"We weren't friends when it happened, and may I remind you, you're the one that came on to me."
What.
"No, it was the other way around."
"Lets see, the Homecoming queen coming on to the loser who just lost his girlfriend to his friend. Yeah, that makes sense," she says sarcastically.
Okay, we don't have time to argue about this, but she totally came on to me.
"I'm going to tell her, Cashmere."
"No, you're not." Her voice goes really cold. "Do you honestly think Johanna would forgive you? Do you think she's even going to talk to you anymore? Peeta will hate you for breaking her heart. They all will, and you'll have no one."
"I don't care. She'll forgive me…eventually."
Cashmere stares at me like she doesn't know what else to say.
There is nothing she can say to stop me. I don't care if Johanna hates me. She has the right to know.
I'm about to walk away when she stops me with one question.
"What about Peeta?"
I raise an eyebrow. "What about him?"
"With you and me out of the picture, how long do you think it'll take for him to get with Johanna?"
Oh, she's good.
"There's nothing between them, but nice try, Cashmere."
"Nothing between them?" Cashmere laughs. "You're a dumbass if you think that's true. They have more of a connection then you and Johanna do. Hey, maybe I'm wrong but," Cashmere smirks. "Do you really want to take that risk?"
There's a bunch of noise coming from upstairs. Then, everyone runs down laughing.
"All of you out, now!" Peeta shouts.
"Damn. Chill, Peeta," Annie says.
"What's with him?" Cashmere asks Johanna.
"Delly called to let him know that his dad is staying with her and his mom should be home any minute now," Johanna says.
"Peeta, I'm sure your mom won't care that we helped out," Gloss says. "She'd probably be grateful. You know once my mom—"
"That's a great story, Gloss, mind telling it on your way out? Great!"
Somehow Peeta gets a hold on all of us and is pushing us out of the backdoor. As soon as we're all out he slams the door shut and we can hear the lock.
"I haven't known the dude that long, but is that normal for him?" Gloss asks.
"Actually," Annie bites her lip then nods. "Yes."
"Man, it's still to early to go home," Finnick says.
"How bout you guys come over to our place and we'll make it a movie night?" Cashmere asks with a innocent smile.
I don't say anything as everyone else starts agreeing.
"What do you say, Gale?" Cashmere is staring at me again. "Do you want to be alone or be with your friends?"
"I'm in."
Cashmere smirks at me.
"Lets start walking then."
Cashmere and Gloss are the in front, leading us to their house. Jo and I are right behind them and Annie and Finnick are next to us, holding hands.
"Before I forget," Johanna starts with. "Gale, you said you wanted to tell me something?"
The plan was to tell her about Cashmere after we were done helping Peeta at the bakery. That was the plan but now seems good too.
"I…can't make to your place before you leave tomorrow. I'm sorry."
Johanna and her parents are going out of town for the weekend. Her parents want to visit some friends and refuse to leave Johanna home alone.
"That's okay, Gale." She kisses me on the cheek.
Maybe now isn't the time but I will tell her.
I will.
More on this whole Cashmere/Gale thing later. Let me make it clear they did NOT sleep together. They just made out and that was it. This whole new friendship with Gloss and Cashmere is going to fuck with Gale. He is so screwed.
Next up, some Peeta feels and some Clatoness.
Please review :D
