A lot of you have been pestering me to write more, but I had a fire fighting camp to attend, plus writers block is annoying. So… here it is! Enjoy!

The next day finally arrived, and my newly reunited brother's condition was still pretty much the same. The infection has cleared up a bit, luckily. Thoughts of the new recruit are hitting me like waves on the beach. Is she really going to be Mom? What if she really is?

"Zelda? You sure look spaced out," Engineer said suddenly, and I snapped back to reality. I was sitting on the dining table, a piece of toast scrunched in my hands. "You better get off the table, it's rude to be plain sitting on a table like that," he continued.

I took in my surroundings. Most people are gone. To the spawn room, I guess. "Huh? How are you, Engineer? I didn't see you there." I said, chewing the scrunched toast. It's damp… Have I been sweating? "Um, wake up. You're in the middle of a warzone here. Mission's gonna start in a couple of minutes. I'm good, by the way, thank you very much." He shook me slightly.

"Yes, yes, I'm wide awake. Say, did you notice anything last night?" I changed the subject, worried that someone other than Sniper had knowledge about Nikolaus. "Nope, but the REDs' been particularly hyped about their missing member, the Medic." answered the Texan.

"Really? I guess their new member's covering for him then." I suggested. "I donno, but that sounds like a reasonable idea,"

"It sure is," Engineer replied. "Say, where is the Doc?"

"Oh, he had an important errand to run, so he's not fighting today. I could be the Medic for a day, though," I answered. In fact, we could not leave Nikolaus unattended, so Medic decided to stay. I pulled the blueprints that Medic had drawn up and gave it to Engineer. "Oh, a blueprint? Thanks a lot!" Engineer loves blueprints. Immediately, he began to examine the papers.

"A Crusader's Crossbow, eh? Reckon I can craft one right now, since I've got some scrap metal around. Would you get some of Medigun's serum for me and bring it to the workshop? You know where it is, don't 'cha?" Engineer said, handed me a jar, before running of to his retreat.

I hurried to the spawn room and to Medic's locker. "What is leetle girl doing with Doktor's things?" Heavy growled. "Oh, he's not going to fight today, so I am covering him for the day. I have to figure out how to power this Medigun, though." I said quickly.

"Lucky that Heavy know how to use. You open switch here, and pull that." He began giving instructions. Like clockwork, I successfully powered the Medigun up. The blue beam began to envelope Heavy, since I aimed it at him and pulled the lever. "Is Übercharge after this, does leetle girl know how to use?" he continued.

"Ja, Ich weiβ," I said, impersonating Medic. "You flick zhe switch zhere und make sure it is fully charged. Zhat, ladies und gentlemen, ist Übercharge." I said, perfectly mimicking the doctor. "You sound a lot like Doktor." remarked Heavy. "Of course, I'm his-"

"…roommate," I continued, nearly revealing the secret. "Heavy want to be Doktor's roommate," he whined. "Oh, I have important things to do, catch you later!" I quickly had some of Medigun's beam into the jar. Who knew, the second the beam made contact with the jar, it became blue liquid. I sealed the jar, put the equipment back in place, and made for the Engineer's workshop.

"Took you long enough," joked Engineer, smiling good-naturedly. "Heavy taught me how to use the Medigun," I answered. "Anyways, to think that you can actually craft something under five minutes never cease to amaze," I stared at the crossbow in awe. "Quite the beauty, ain't she? Now, if you get the serum into those syringes, it will heal teammates and hurt enemies. Give it a go,"

I took hold of the crossbow, and inserted a syringe into the slot of the barrel. There was a target at the door. I took aim, and fired.

For some reasons, I did not hit the target. It hit Pyro in between the eyes. "Oh my, oh my, oh my- Are you okay, Pyro?" Pyro seemed invigorated, and clapped happily. I smiled in relief. "Guess we'd call it a success," Engineer said, giving me a high-five. "You're quite the sharpshooter, though."

Pyro mumbled something. "Is it? Good to know. We'll be there in a few secs. Thanks for telling," Yes, Engineer is the only person to understand the enigmatic teammate. He gave Pyro a lollipop and Pyro ran off. "What was it?" I asked.

"The battle's going to start, and you ought to get ready."

"MISSION BEGINS IN TEN SECONDS!" As clichédas it is, I remember that it has probably happened before. We began to speed towards the spawn room, and arrived on time, since it was very close. I decided to put the Ambassador away so that I could carry the new weapon.

I ran out to search for the intelligence. Not for long, I found it. There was the RED Engineer, with a person whose hair is tied neatly into a bun. Her attire consists of an unbuttoned red checkered blouse and was tied on the waist, revealing a white tank top underneath. Skinny jeans hugged her legs perfectly, and the combat boots somehow matches the outfit. She held a shotgun.

I got a new Scattergun that looks like the Soda Popper, so I shot her and scored a headshot. The enemy Engineer looked baffled, and I shot him in no time. Sneaking behind the sentry, I whacked the daylights out of it until it exploded. Same went for the dispenser. Take that, I thought triumphantly. Picking the intelligence up, I sneaked a peek on the woman I just killed. She was lying face down, I pulled her up. I was filled with shock.

That woman is Heather Anna Rosenberg, no doubt. I killed my own mother. Tears glistened on my face for no reasons at all. I ran back to the base, tossed the intelligence onto the ground, and slumped at the corner. Scout'd get the other two briefcases. I was too tired to think, and blacked out.

I opened my eyes to a bright light. "Are you all right, Sister?" a voice said. I sat up dizzily. "I… killed Mom…" was all I was able to say. My eyes finally adjusted to the lights, and I saw Nikolaus beside me. "Was it a bad dream, or…?"

"Just now. I killed her with my own hands." I said. "Are you sure?" "YES!" I exclaimed. "What if respawn'd failed or something…"

"ZELDA!" yelled Nikolaus. "What?" I said. "Seeing you like this makes me worried!" he said. "Respawn won't fail, the creator of it said so himself. Just stop being like this and calm down." Hopefully what he said is true, and I won't need to live with this guilt.

And that, is how the Crusader's Crossbow is born! I don't know when the next chapter is going to be posted though. So, please be patient with me. I would've written more, but I've got not enough time. Please leave reviews, and thanks for reading!
