Sitting down at the table Paul sat as far away from Vince as he could without it looking too suspicious. He wished he had remembered to bring some paper and a pen to doodle on with him as at least he could seem busy and avoid any stupid conversations with people trying to get the gory details from him about his relationship with Stephanie.

Making her way to the production meeting Stephanie looked at the papers in her hand, the original script called for an in-ring promo by her character and Paul's to discuss his loss to Dwayne's character on Raw on what would be Monday night when the show went out but things hadn't gone to plan so now she wondered how they would have to play the promo but she had an idea that she would have to run past people in the meeting. Walking into the room she took a seat on the opposite side of the table to Paul and a few seats down from where he was so they weren't directly opposite each other. Spreading her papers across the desk in front of her she started making notes.

As he looked at his watch Vince pushed his chair back from the table and stood up making sure that everybody who needed to be there was sat in front of him, "good morning everyone. I am glad you could all make it on time. Last night was a good show but now we have to move forward and focus on tonight's show."

Looking down at the desk Stephanie rolled her eyes at his little speech, she always hated it when he would start a meeting with that and today was no exception. Drifting off into her own little world she didn't pay close attention to what was being said until she heard her name being called. Lifting her head she tried not to blush at being caught not paying attention and tried to bluff her way through it, "sorry, I didn't sleep well last night because I couldn't get comfortable with my knee. What did you say?"

Frowning at his daughter he hated that she was checking out on her job but he wouldn't pick her up on it in front of everybody else, "I was asking if you were up to walking down to the ring to do the promo with Hunter tonight or if we needed to change it?"

Nobody else got special treatment and she sure as hell wasn't going to accept special treatment when she knew that Vince was only sucking up to her, "you don't need to change where the promo is being done but I thought we could change the content."

Everyone turned their attention to her including Paul as Vince said, "what do you propose we change the content to?"

"Well instead of focussing on Hunter's loss on Raw change it so he turns his focus and anger to Rock forcing him to knock me off the apron because he was clumsy and all that. It would make more sense for Hunter to be more passionate about his visibly injured wife than it would be for him to focus on losing a match."

There were murmurs of agreement around the table and silence from Vince before he said, "if you can write a proposed script outline by the next meeting then I will consider it."

Rolling her eyes she should have known he would react like that, "okay fine. I will have it done as soon as I can."

Paul watched the interaction between Stephanie and Vince carefully and he could see on her face that she was not happy so decided to cheer her up with a text message. Scrolling through his phone until he found 'Mylo' he opened a text to send to her:

You're so hot when you're annoyed.

Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket Stephanie pulled it out to look at it and frowned when she saw a text from someone called 'Lee' and it didn't make any sense, she didn't remember anyone called Lee being in her phone. Opening the text she tried not to smile as she read it and realised that it was from her boyfriend. Sneaking a look across the table she blushed at the way he was looking at her and quickly looked back down at her phone and replied to him:

Stop looking at me like that, I'm blushing.

Keeping his phone hidden from view Paul smiled at her text and quickly replied forgetting entirely about the meeting he was supposed to be paying attention in:

I'm sorry I find you the most beautiful woman in the world. I'll try and look at you like you're ugly if you'd prefer.

Seeing to his text she sighed, he always made her feel like the most special person in the world but it never put her at ease:

Stop sucking up to me, you don't need to unless you want something.

Frowning when he saw her text he had a bad feeling that she thought he was looking for something specific when he wasn't:

The only thing I want is to see you smile. I love you.

The meeting came to and end and Stephanie didn't have time to answer his text but she gathered her papers together ready to go back to the locker room to focus on the script and making points for Paul's promo. Waiting until mostly everyone else had left the room so she didn't get caught in a crush she slipped her cell phone back into her pocket and eventually stood up and made her way towards the door stopping only when Vince called her name, "Stephanie hang on."

Turning around carefully she looked at him not making a move to go back to the table or even where he was stood, "yes Vince."

It felt like a punch to the gut when she called him 'Vince' but he didn't let it show, "I was just wondering why you paid such little attention to the meeting?"

"I was just tired, I really didn't sleep well last night because my knee was so uncomfortable but I'm going to do as the trainer and Dwayne told me to and rest it and ice it etcetera as much as possible to make it better as quickly as I can. Is there anything else you want or can I go and ice my knee and work on the segment for tonight?"

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

Trying not to roll her eyes there was nothing she wanted him to do that he would actually do for her so she shook her head, "no, there's nothing you will be willing to do to help or make things better."

Limping out of the room she made her way back to her locker room and collapsed onto the couch sighing with relief when she took the weight off her leg. She knew she should try and get some ice for her knee but she wanted to rest it as much as possible and she was sure that she would be able to convince somebody to go and get her some ice eventually.

Pulling her laptop out of her bag she put it on the table and started to boot it up just as the locker room door swung open and Paul came strolling in, "leg up please."

Lifting her head she smiled when she saw him with ice in hand, "my saviour."

Walking over to the couch he carefully lifted her foot up onto the coffee table and placed the ice over her knee, "sit there and don't move."

Nodding her head she patted the the seat beside her, "sit with me and let's work on this promo together."

Sitting down beside her he was more than happy to oblige, it gave him an excuse to be around her.
