Barely surviving the Smackdown taping without killing anyone Stephanie packed her bags ready to get the first commercial flight home that she could manage because there was no way she was taking the private jet home.
Packing his bags Paul made sure he had everything together before he placed them at the door and turned back to his girlfriend watching as she packed her make-up away. Walking over to her he gently placed his hand on her shoulder not sure if she would hug him or kill him if he attempted to hold her.
Jumping at his touch she spun around to face him, "so you're leaving and I don't even get a hug."
Shrugging his shoulders he didn't know what the correct answer would be as she was so volatile, "you can have a hug if you want one, I just kind of value my balls tonight."
Not saying a word she slipped her arms around his waist and held onto him tightly resting her head on his chest.
Holding her close he kissed the top of her head and rubbed his hand up and down her back, "it's only a few days and soon we'll be back together again."
Lifting her head briefly she frowned, "do you promise me that we'll still be together in a few days?"
"I promise with everything I am that we will still be together in a few days. I'll call you and you can call me at any point when you want to talk to me so you know, we don't have to be apart and anyway, I'm always with you in your heart."
Leaning up onto her tiptoes she pressed a soft kiss to his lips, "I love you."
Wrapping his hand around her neck he held her head close to his whispering, "I love you." As soon as he had whispered those words he captured her lips in another kiss but this time it was not broken quickly.
When the two of them finally parted they knew they had to go their separate ways before anyone suspected anything so pressing a kiss to the top of her head he finally walked away from her towards the door picking up his bags before he looked back at her, "call me."
Smiling she nodded her head, "I will and you call me too."
Nodding his head he walked out of the room with the luggage wishing he could walk right back in and spend the week with her.
Arriving home at three am Stephanie crawled into bed to go to sleep but she ended up staring at the ceiling unable to fall asleep because she wasn't with Paul and she didn't feel as safe and secure as she had when she was in his arms.
When Vince arrived home at half past one he crawled into bed next to his wife and lay on his back staring at the ceiling.
Linda stirred when her husband crawled into bed and she moved closer to cuddle up to him before she fell back to sleep but when she lay her head on his chest she felt the tenseness in his body, "what are you so tense for?"
"Our daughter is a nightmare. Do you know how many complaints I have had about her this week?"
Sitting up Linda looked at her husband pretty sure she wasn't going to get much more sleep now tonight, "I'll go with none?"
Following his wife's lead he sat up against the headboard, "try about twenty. For the past two days all anybody has done is complain that she has been rude, that she has been snapping at everyone for everything and a couple of people swore they thought she was just about ready to kill them."
Her eyes widened, "are you kidding? Stephanie was that angry over what went down with Paul that she has been taking it out on everyone?"
Nodding his head he wished he was kidding, "I wish I was kidding. She has been taking it out on everyone and I am really worried about her, I'm worried that she is either having some sort of breakdown or she will never get over what happened."
"She will be fine, it's only been a week so you've got to give her some time to get over it and move on. It may take a few weeks but hopefully you can manage not to fire her between now and then."
Shrugging his shoulders Vince wasn't so sure about that, "I'm not so sure. If she is as bad next week as she has been this week I may have no other option but to fire her or suspend her until she can get her act together and either of those options aren't good because she will probably hate me for it."
Placing her hand over her husband's she squeezed it gently, "it surely can't be that bad can it?"
"Oh trust me it is, she's even taking it out on the poor trainers so that should give you some indication of how bad she is being."
Sighing she shook her head, "fantastic. I have never known her to be like this ever before."
He rolled his eyes, "I know! This is why I am so worried about her, she has never been like it before so I don't know how to deal with it or how long it will last. I can't talk to her because she hates me, I have tried my damnedest to talk to her but she's ignoring me so I can't put myself through trying to talk to her again."
Nodding her head she had a feeling that somebody needed to have a frank talk with their daughter because if they didn't talk some sense to her then she would either lose her mind or her job because Vince would have no other option but to fire her if she didn't tone it down. Taking a deep breath she was going to have to bite the bullet and talk to her, "after work tomorrow I will call in on her and have a chat with her and see if I can work out where her head is at and see if I can make her tone things down a little and maybe not murder anyone."
Vince frowned, "do you really think it will work?"
Linda shrugged her shoulders, "I can only try right? It's better than just sitting back and doing nothing and allowing her to just be angry with the world isn't it?"
"I guess so but I don't want her to hate you too so I don't want you to push things too far okay?"
Sliding down in the bed she sighed as she rolled over to look at him, "she won't hate me. You never know, she might appreciate her Mom going over there so she can talk and get things off her chest and it might help."
Following his wife's lead he lay down in bed also, "do you promise to tell me how it goes?"
Nodding her head she smiled softly at him, "I promise, we will have a great big discussion about it when I get home tomorrow but until then we both need to go to sleep because we have work all day tomorrow."
Leaning over he pressed a soft kiss to his wife's cheek, "I love you. Thank you Linda, I really appreciate it."
Moving closer to her husband she lay her head on his chest, "you're welcome. Now go to sleep before I make you sleep on the couch."
Closing his eyes he pulled her closer and quickly fell asleep.
