She knew she shouldn't put it off but Stephanie found herself with no desire to actually go to the arena after her run in with Chris so she opened her laptop and took a seat on her bed and did some work.
So focussed on her work the half hour she planned to spend working turned into over an hour and when she finally looked at the clock and realised how late she actually was she panicked and scrambled off the bed gathering things together.
Paul was looking forward to seeing Stephanie at work because they had had such a wonderful evening and he was missing her. Dumping his bag in the locker room he had some time to kill before the production meeting so went wandering around in search of something, anything.
Nearing the entrance/exit of the arena he spotted Chris Irvine talking with a couple of other wrestlers and Divas so blended into the crowd to kill time.
He knew his daughter was not happy with him but his wife had said she had flown out on Sunday evening so she had even less of an excuse than the wrestlers to be late and he hated being shown up by her. Heading towards the entrance he spotted some wrestlers, "Have you seen Stephanie?"
Completely unaware of the fact that Paul was in the crowd around him he couldn't help but smirk a little, "I saw her this morning, she looked like she was doing the walk of shame to be honest."
One of the other guys couldn't help but cut in, "Maybe she went back for seconds."
Someone smacked the guy on the back of the head, "Dumbass."
Vince just shook his head at the group of wrestlers and walked away, he had hoped to get more sense from them than that but clearly he had hoped for too much.
Stephanie arrived seconds after her Dad had left and rolled her eyes as she saw a group of wrestlers just stood there talking and planned to just ignore them as she hurried on her way.
She was almost past them when she heard one of them say, "Second walk of the shame of the day huh? I know you just split up with your boyfriend but that is pretty slutty."
Spinning around to face the group of them she sent the entire group the iciest of glares, "Fuck you straight to hell. You and apparently every other person in this place are a complete asshole who puts their nose right where it doesn't belong. Take your stupid opinion of my life and shove it up your ass."
Turning away from them she stormed off towards her locker room so grateful that her knee was almost one hundred percent again so she wasn't hobbling and could walk at a fast pace because her anger level was through the roof.
Paul had sat there silently letting it all go down because he couldn't jump in to defend her but it turned out he didn't need to anyway as she more than stuck up for herself but he was concerned for her so he stood up, "Congratulations on poking the angry bear and making my hard job even harder. It may be all fun and games to you lot but I actually have to work with her and when the entire show and company is resting on my shoulders and we have to play a happily married couple it makes it fucking impossible if you keep antagonising her just for shits and giggles. Keep your stupid opinions to yourselves."
Heading off in the direction of the locker room he had to calm Stephanie down before the production meeting which was due to start in ten minutes.
As soon as Paul left Amy smacked Chris upside the head, "Congratulations genius on started a shit storm. You clearly thought you were being funny but failed miserably. I hope you have to job to Michael Cole tonight."
Arriving at the locker room she was apparently sharing with Paul tonight she walked inside and slammed the door so hard behind her that she was pretty sure the brick walls shook. She was so mad right now that if anybody interrupted her before she managed to cool off she wasn't entirely sure she would be able to be polite.
He wasn't far from the locker room when it sounded like a bomb went off as a door was slammed so hard and he noticed everybody around him shrink at the sound and he knew it only came from one person.
Standing outside of the locker room he knew he was taking his life in his hands but she was his girlfriend and she was worth it all. Slipping inside of the room he quietly shut and locked the door behind him before he made his way over to her standing close but not too close, "What they said was uncalled for."
Jumping at the sound of his voice behind her she didn't even want him to be around her right now, "But partly true, I was doing the walk of shame this morning."
"There is nothing shameful about leaving your boyfriend's room and going back to your room, it's not like I am some random guy you picked up on the street."
He could tell it was all playing on her mind and as she opened her mouth to argue with him he quickly closed the distance between them and slipped his arm around her waist holding her to him and covering her mouth with his hoping to kiss away all of her anger and worries.
Melting into his kiss she didn't even think about the fact that anybody could walk in at any moment, she wanted to stay there in that moment forever. As the kiss ended and he pulled back from it she pulled him closer and rested her head on his chest just below his chin but right over his heart allowing it to soothe her.
He wanted to say something to her but it didn't seem the right time and it didn't seem to be what she needed.
After a minute of being in his arms and after the kiss that they had shared her anger had completely disappeared but panic set in, "Shit, what if somebody saw us kissing or us like this?"
Rubbing her back gently with her hand he kissed the top of her head, "They didn't, I locked the door as I wasn't sure if you were going to throw things and I didn't want anyone to be accidentally caught in the crossfire."
Smacking his chest gently she pouted, "Well that is just plain mean, I don't do throwing things when I am angry dammit." Looking at her watch she panicked, "Oh fuck, Vince is going to kill me and this is not what I need right now. We need to talk after okay? I don't care what anyone says you are coming back here with me and that is that."
Stepping back he watched her as she frantically started getting her stuff together for the meeting, "I think I prefer you when you are propositioning me."
Turning around to face her boyfriend she was about to admonish him but then she saw the twinkle in his eyes and smiled, that was exactly what she needed right then before she headed for a meeting. Taking a deep breath she got the rest of her stuff together before she walked to Paul and kissed his cheek and then made her way to the door unlocking it before she headed out towards the production meeting.
Watching his girlfriend walk out of the locker room Paul knew that he should warn her that Vince knew what Chris had said about him catching her doing a walk of shame but he just couldn't do it. He knew that if he did tell her she would just get angry all over again and might avoid the meeting altogether so hopefully he could prevent the two of them talking at the meeting. Making his way out of the door he didn't want to be late for the meeting or leave the two of them without a bodyguard for too long because who knew what would happen.
