Chapter 4

Its been a week since Okami started teaching everything I would need to know about Minecraft, such as building shelter, crafting various items and cooking, experience, enchanting, fighting and much more. I was so lucky to have my phone, since I could now take down notes easily and never forget them. Today was crafting lessons and Okami was teaching the basics. Right now, we were in a corner of The Grand Den as I learned it was called.

"Alright, what do you know about crafting?" She asked, her hands on her hips.

"Not much, only how to make basice tools from the demo." I replied, scratching my head.

"The what?"

"Never mind. Either way, not much."

"Well, by the end of the lesson, youll be a pro!" She smiled as she took out materials from a small leather bag she carried. They were 9 Sticks, 11 Wooden Planks, and 8 Cobblestone (I was still learning the various names for resources so I think its Cobblestone). She placed them all on a corner of the workbench in front of us, all of the blocks tiny and appeared as though if they were floating. She taught me that a work bench included a 3x3 grid and to craft an item, I was to place the required materials in a certain place on the grid and use them hammer at the side of the bench and tap the center. When I first tried it, I had all these question and remarks regarding Physics and Science, but decided not to share them aloud.

Included in the lesson was crafting without a bench and I gotta say, its trippy as fuck. Instead of a 3x3 grid, 'handcrafting" used an imaginary 2x2 grid and was limited to what I could craft. Even though I was limited, the craft process was easier, as all I had to do was take the required item in my palm and squeeze. I laughed when I first tried this with 2 Wooden Planks and got 4 sticks in my hand, like I was Jesus or some shit. The day dragged on with smelting, cooking, enchanting and Anvil use. By the end of the day, we were bone tired.

"Yaaahh!" Okami yawned, smacking her lips and her eyelids closing slightly. "You did great today Pyro, your a fast learner!" She smiled, yawning again.

"Thanks", I said, smiling back, "Its because I have a great teacher like you Okami." I saw her blush slightly at this and just chuckled, patting her head.

"B-Baka..." she gave a slight soft smile before guiding back to her bedchamber. She lay in her bed while slept on the floor next to her, using my hands as a pillow and stared at the ceiling. I couldnt sleep, all I could do was lay in wake and wonder what everyone back home was doing. My parents mustve thought I ran away and are probably having the police search for me and all my friends must be wondering why I wasnt at school.

I gave out a sad sigh, thinking to myself. "I have to hurry up and colect those relics, fast. I cant stay in this world, I dont belong here. I have to get home..."

I heard Okami shift in her bed, hearing her whisper, "Hey, are you still awake Pyro?" I shifted my body as well, facing Okami's bed while she poked her head out.

"Yeah Im awake. Why? Cant sleep?"

"I was about to ask the same thing." she giggled. I swear, she's so young and cute, I cant believe she's a pack leader to all these people.

"Okami?"

"Yeah?"

"How did you end up Pack Leader? I know you said it was because your mother died, but, why you? No offense, but your not the least bit terrifying and you seem so...civil." I sat up, waiting for an answer. Okami just smiled.

"I was chosen as Pack Leader because the Tribe wanted me to. They say that Im so kind and fair to everyone, that I was the perfect mother figure to lead them."

"But what if, you know, your Tribe was attacked? Wouldnt they look to their leader to defend them?" I asked, fixing my messed up hair. Okami only smiled more and climbed down, sitting in my lap. I blushed a little, mainly because ever since my first day here, shes been wearing that revealing clothing and not to mention they were quite thin.

"Actually, Im really strong and fast. The best hunter here. But its not me." She said, confusing me.

"Uhhh...what? What do you mena its you but not you?"

"What I mean is, I have another personality. Shes alot taller than me, has bigger boobs, a whole stronger and faster, and very pretty. But I keep her sealed away with these markings on my body." She pointed to her golden tattoos and how they went from her chest down to her legs. In the center above her small breasts was a tattoo in the shape of a wolf head baring its fangs.

"You mean you keep your alternate personality sealed away with your tattoos?" I asked, wondering how that was possible.

"Well, they arent tattoos but a special mixture the Elder made from legendary ingridiants and drew upon me when I was a child. I can occaisonaly speak to her but she only comes out when I need her, so I cant show her to you." She explained this while tracing my finger along the markings, stopping at the center. I blushed even more and pulled my hand away.

"This is wierd", I thought, "she kinda reminds me of Moka from Rosario+Vampire. Except without the Rosario and all the panty shots." I cleared my throat, wondered if she liked being pet. I cautiously placed my hand on her head.

"What are you doing?" She asked, only to be closing her eyes and wagging her tail as I started petting her tail. "Mmm.." I stopped and got her off me, to which she pouted and went back to her bed.

"Okami, Im thinking about leaving tommorow." I said, placing my hands behind my head as lied back down. She only shot up.

"Why?" She asked, her ears drooping a bit.

"Because I need to start looking for these relics to return home. Ive already mastered the basics and the Elder already gave me a map with the general locations of the relics, so there's nothing keeping me here anymore."

"Then let me go with you!" she exclaimed, determination in her eyes.

"No way, Im not dragging you into my problems Okami. I appreciate your help with the training but thats as much as Ill take. I need to do this on my own."

"No, Im helping you Pyro! Wether you like it or not!"

"I said no Okami! What if you got hurt or you die? Im not about to live with that guilt when I got enough to worry about."

"Dont give me that bravado crap! What if you died!? Then how can I live with myself!?" She was nearly yelling and I could here a few of the tribe members mumble and shift.

I spoke to her in a hushed voice. "I said no! End of discussion!" I turned the other way and closed my eyes. I could hear her pout and shift in her bed until she fell silent. "Finally!" I thought and slowly drifted to sleep.

The next morning I was outside the Den with a stone sword in a makeshift sheath made of cow leather attached to my back and a stone pickaxe at my side sticking out of my pocket. Okami has been attached to my leg the entire time and Ive been trying to shake her off.

"Get off Okami! I said no!" She was persistent and wouldnt budge.

"No!" She spoke in a childish tone one would use if they were no getting what they want.

"For Christ's sake, your a teenage girl! Have some class!" I shook harder, but to no avail.

"No!"

"Thats it!" I used my hands to pry her off and held her outwards. "Why do you want to go so bad!?"

"Because your my Alpha!" Her eyes were shut in emarassment and her face flushed.

"Your what?"

"My...Alpha!" She said it as though I was supposed to know what it meant.

"What does that mean?" I shook her, but go no response. "Tell me Okami."

"I-It means...your my mate! I will always follow and stay loyal to my Alpha! And thats whether you like it or not!" I simply dropped her.

"Heh? Listen short stuff, I aint your mate and your not going with me. Now be a good girl and stay." She simply looked up at me and sighed.

"Fine, if it is what my Alpha wishes, then I will stay..." She sounded rather depressed and stood up. "Can I at least give you a present before you leave?" I sighed, giving in.

"Fine." I saw her smile and run back inside the Den and came back out with paste in a bowl and a small brush. She then took my arm and began to draw complex looking symbols and marking from my wrist to my elbow. When she finished, I had a similar tattoo as the one on her arm, only in silver.

"What is it?" I asked, examining it. Okami smiled wide.

"It is an ancient marking of the Tribe's power. All Pack Leaders are required to present it to their Alphas as a sign of acceptance, trust, and loyalty. The silver mixture is similar to mine only much weaker. When you need me, Ill know." She kissed my cheek and smiled even more, with even a cute giggle at the end. I smiled back.

"Thanks Okami. Its great. But Im still not your mate." I began to walk off. "Take care."

"Bye Pyro!" She called as I entered the woods to begin my longest journey ever.
