I Promise

"Mother, wait! Don't leave me!" Lucian cried as she desperately tries to reach out for her parents. No matter how much she runs, she could never get close to them. "Father! Please turn around! I'm right here! Please!" She begged and begged but they just kept getting farther and farther away from her until her legs gave out, making her fall to the ground. "Please! Turn around!" She clutched her hands tightly, forming into a pair of fist. She didn't care about pain of her nails digging through her flesh. She wanted them, she wanted her parents back.

*Bang*

Lucian lifted her head up and her eyes grew, fear written all over her face. Two dark figures stood beside her parents each holding a gun. Her parents were lying on the ground on their own blood while the two dark figures laughed like a maniac enjoying the look on her face. "Noooo!" She screamed from the top of her lungs and shut her eyes tight unable to look at her parent's dead body. The laughter of the killers grew louder and louder until she can no longer hear herself. "Stop it!" She covered her ears but it wasn't enough, their laughter, their sinister smiles, they were mocking her. Even after she closed her eyes she can still see their twisted grin. That's all she saw, their smile, no eyes, nothing but their smile.

You live in a world of lies.

"Stop it!"

You'll die in this world. You'll die just like your parents!

"Shut up!" Lucian shouted and opened her eyes only to see the two figures standing in front of her still smiling. Those wicked smile of theirs grew even bigger that anymore movement will break their bottom face off.

You can't trust anyone!

"I said to shut up!"

You will die! You will die! I will make sure that you die in this world! Hehehehe!

That laughter sounded so familiar to her ears. Yes, that laughter. It sounded just like Joker's laughter. That laughter of Joker, she heard of it before, laughter of enjoyment when seeing someone in pain.

Child of the infamous role holders, you will not leave this world. You cannot leave and you will never finish the game! Your punishment for being born is your death! I welcome you to the world of lies, welcome to Wonderland, child of Aria and Leo. Ahahahahaha!

Lucian opened her eyes and she gasped. It felt like she had not breathe for a long time. She was sweating and her throat was dry. She quickly sat up on the bed and hugged her knees. "…the hell…" She said in between in her panting. She could not stop her body from shaking, her fingers were trembling. It was too much. That was too much for a dream. She never had that kind of nightmare before in her life or at least that's what she thought.

She tried to calm her heart down by breathing slowly but it did not work. Her fear just grew that she started crying. "Joker…" She bit her lower lip, she wanted him. She wanted him there with her; she needed someone to comfort her. She could not take the fear engulfing her entire body. She wanted to run and search for him, but her body refused to move on that spot of the bed. She felt like her feet and butt were glued to the bed.

Seconds felt like hours to her as she waited for at least one of the Jokers to comebut they didn't show up. That is when she heard the door click, and a certain ring leader walked in with a smile on his face.

"I'm back, Luci…." The smile on White's face fell immediately when he saw Lucian crying. "Lucian!" Without a second to lose he ran to her and threw his hat across the room without a care. Lucian lifted her head up and she finally was able to move her trembling body. Damn those glue. Before White could even get to her she tackled him making him fall back and hitting the floor with a loud thud. He sat up and looked at Lucian sitting on his lap. "Lu-"

"White!" Lucian cried as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Lucian." White began to panic but didn't show it on his facial feature. "What happened?" He asked and wrapped his arms around Lucian, pulling her closer to him. She did not answer and just cried. "Lucian my dear, tell me what happened?" Again no answer and he gave up and decided that he'll just ask her again later after he stops her from crying. "It's okay, I'm here. Shh, it's okay." He softly stroked her hair, brushing her bangs away from her eyes too. He was angry, really angry.

Who in the right mind would make his Lucian cry? If he finds out there will be blood. "Lucian." He pulled his head away from her a little to look at her face. He then wipes the tears from her eyes with his thumbs and this made Lucian stop from crying. "Tell me what happened?" He asked, looking straight into the eyes of Lucian. He knew that he should have waited a little longer because Lucian started to cry again. "Okay never mind. Let's go sit in the bed first." He brought his right arm under Lucian's legs and his other arm on her back, lifting her up and walking to the bed. He sat on the bed and placed Lucian on his lap and wrapping his arms around her protectively.

I better call Joker. White thought as he looked down on Lucian while rubbing her shoulder with his right hand. He softly kissed her on the forehead, hoping that it would help her stop from trembling which it did. His mind was running, thinking of who the bastard or what made Lucian cry.

In a different room in the prison Black was still talking with Rein, asking what Rein was doing in his prison in the first place when he was interrupted by White talking in his head.

Joker, you need to come to Lucian's room.

"What?!" Black shouted angrily, not even caring about Rein looking at him in an oddly way. "I'm busy with something right now!" He turned around so that Rein would not see his pissed off face.

Lucian is crying. That was all it took for Black to get up from his chair and walked out of the room.

Before he left he turned his head back to Rein, "Stay here! Don't fucking leave or I will kill you!" He made sure that he wasn't kidding around as he glared at Rein.

"Did something happen?" Rein asked not being bothered by Black's glare.

"It's nothing for you to worry about!" Black pulled the door back and slammed it hard before running down the hallway towards Lucian's room. He wanted to get to Lucian's room that he forgot to lock the door where he left Rein, but he knew that Rein would not do something stupid like sneak out of the room. Besides he cannot leave the prison unless Black or White gives him permission to leave. This is their territory after all.

It did not take long for Black to come bursting to Lucian's room, holding his whip in his hand ready to hit the bastard that made her cry. "Tell me who made Lucian cry?" He said clutching his whip tightly in his hand.

"I don't know." White said. "Lucian just finished crying before you kicked the door open. By the way, you're going to fix that door later." He looked passed Black and to the broken door. Black sighed and walked over to Lucian. He could tell that she cried a lot from her red, puffy eyes.

Black went down on his knees in front of Lucian who was still sitting on White's lap, his whip disappearing from his hand. He looked at her and cupped her cheeks with his hands. "Tell me who made you cry and I will rip whoever this bastard is to shred."

"Joker, that's not how you comfort someone." White sighed. "Though I do want to do the same thing."

Lucian stared at Black for a couple of seconds before opening her mouth, "No one."

"Huh?" Black blinked.

"I had a nightmare." Lucian whispered quietly.

"A nightmare?" White frowned and he looked at Black.

"It better not be that damn caterpillar that gave you a nightmare." Black said in a low tone as he removed his hands from Lucian's cheeks. "Or so help me I will fucking shoot him on the head."

"My dear, can you tell us about this nightmare of yours?" White asked. If it was Nightmare then he will make sure that Nightmare would not be able to walk for a long time. "It's okay you can take your time."

"I saw my parents die." Lucian said making the two tensed at the mention of her parents. "They were shot by two dark figures." She tightened her hold on White's shirt.

Oh my fucking god. Black thought as he looked at his counterpart who had the same expression as his. That's us.

"C-can you tell us what these two dark figures look like, my dear?" White asked trying to hide his nervousness. He really hoped that she did not saw what the two figures look like or else he will be ruined.

"I didn't see any face, just their smile." Lucian continued, "And their laughter….it was too much."

"Anything else?" Black asked.

There was a moment of silence before Lucian looked at Black. "They said something about me being a child of infamous role holders and that I would die in this world, never to leave and I won't be finishing the game." Both Black and White's mouth fell. That was not what they expected to hear. "Black…?" She looked at him wondering why he was looking so shocked.

Black blinked and when he saw Lucian looking at him with a worried look on her face he quickly returned to his normal self. "Uh…listen Lucian, whatever those figures said to you don't believe them. They're not real and it's just a dream."

"Except for my mother and father's death," Lucian mumbled.

"Okay, I don't really know what happened to you in the past but you don't have to worry about." Black said. God, he didn't want to lie to Lucian but he had no choice. If he tells her the truth she will hate him and White for the rest of her life. "I promise that you won't die." He said and he didn't even mention about her finishing the game. He promised her that she would not die, but he did not say anything about her not being able to finish the game. Heck, he does not even care about the game. He wants her to stay, Lucian is his, and no one else can have her.

"Yes, we won't let anyone hurt you." White smiled a little and he kissed Lucian on the cheek. "It's just a dream."

You live in a world of lies. That same voice again.

"Hell yeah, I won't let anyone hurt you while I'm still around." Black grinned as he softly pinched Lucian's cheek. "I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt you."

You can't trust anyone!

No, it's not true. Lucian looked back at Black. I trust Black and White. They're the only ones that I can trust in this world. They care for me. "Thank you. I love you both." She whispered but it was loud enough for the two to hear what she said.

"We love you too, Lucian." White said in a husky tone and he kissed her on her temple.

"Yeah, we love you too and will only love you." Black said as he straightened his body. He pulled Lucian from White and wrapped his arms around her waist. "No one will love you as much as I do." Lucian was too tired to notice Black and White's eye of possessiveness and their lust for her. She nodded her head before resting it on Black's chest.

"You belong to me. I won't let anyone take you away from me. You're mine forever, Lucian." Joker said as they laid her back down to the bed. White crawled next to Lucian and wrapped his arm over her. Black watched Lucian and his counterpart on the bed. He wanted to be next to her too but he needed to finish his work first. He needs to finish his talk with Rein. He leaned down to Lucian and kissed her on the lips before walking out of the room. "I'll be back." He said as he closed the door behind him.

"Go back to sleep, Lucian." White said. "I'll stay here with you."

"Okay." Lucian nodded her head once and slowly closed her eyes. The last thing she saw was White smiling lovingly at her. She was about to fall asleep when White spoke to her.

"Lucian, promise me that you won't leave me." White said.

"I….promise…" Lucian said tiredly without opening her eyes. "Cause I love you."

"I'm happy that you won't leave me." White smiled and his hold on her tightened. "I've long to hear those words from you." He whispered knowing that Lucian was already asleep. He looked at her face and softly caressed her cheek with his index finger. "I'll kill anyone just to be with you forever," his single red orb turned cold and deadly at the thought of having the pleasure of killing the ones that tries to get in between him and his Lucian. "I'm the only one who can protect and love you. I won't let you fall in love with anyone else."
