Rein

~...X...~

Lucian stood outside of the circus with Rein standing beside her. She was curious of him, and she felt that there's something different about him compare to other faceless people. Feeling the urged to know about the young man standing next to her, she turned her head towards Rein. "Um..." She spoke quietly.

Hearing his master's daughter's voice, Rein smiled softly and looked at Lucian. "Yes?" He never thought that he would meet Lucian again after their little encounter in Black's jail. He wonders if she knew him by his voice. That would really make him happy if she did.

The moment Lucian heard Rein's voice, her face lit up. "I knew it!" She said happily, pointing her index finger towards Rein. "You're the one from before!"

"From before...?" Rein blinked, tilting his head to the side. He fought the urge to smile and hug Lucian for remembering him just by recognizing his voice.

"You're the man with the cat mask, right?" Lucian said. She never forgets the people that she finds interesting, and the man in the prison that helped her, is one of those people. "You have the same voice as him."

Rein chuckled, his eyes narrowed softly. "I'm amazed that you remember me, Lady Lucian. You are correct."

The smile on Lucian's face grew bigger. "Wow. I never thought that you would have such a handsome face. But wait...what are you doing out here?" She knows that Black doesn't let any prisoner out, ever. The last time Black took a prisoner out was to just kill the person for fun. Just then, something clicked inside her head. "Are you-"

"A role holder." Rein smiled. "I used to be."

"That's cool. What role did you have?"

There was a moment of silence between the two young adults. Rein knew from the back of his head that telling Lucian about his role might cause some problems in the future, but he can't deny his master's daughter. "Um..."

Seeing Rein hesitating in his answer, Lucian smiled a little and patted Rein by the shoulder. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Some things are just not meant to be known. Right?"

"I'm sorry." Rein lowered his head down. "I wish to tell you, but..."

"Then tell her." A voice said from the back. "She's gonna find out soon enough, anyway."

Both Lucian and Rein turned their head back to see Black and White walking out of the circus. Black had his arms crossed over his shoulder with a bored look on his face, while White happily walked along side him with his angelic smile on his face.

"You took long to get ready, Black." Lucian said. "You made me and um..." She paused before slapping her forehead. She forgot to ask who the person standing beside her. "Shoot."

"His name is Rein." Black said while looking at Rein, giving him the look of don't-get-any-closer-bastard. "Just tell the idiot the truth. She won't stop until you tell her."

"I said that I wouldn't force him out to tell me, and I'm not a brat!" Lucian glared at Black.

"Ahaha~ Of course you're not a brat, Lucian." White smiled. "To me, you are an angel. In fact, all you need is a pair of white wings on your back, and a white dress."

Black grumbled, not liking that his counterpart would say something so embarrassing. "If you're done saying your weird lines, clown then we'll be going now." He said as he walked over to Lucian, grabbing her left hand. "By the way, Rein is the king of The Land of the Looking Glass."

"The what...?" Lucian blinked.

"It is one of the five lands of this world." Rein said. "In this world there is the Heart, Clover, Spade, Diamond, and The Looking Glass, Lady Lucian."

"Can we go visit these lands, Black and White?" Lucian asked, looking up at Black. "I'm kind of interested in seeing them."

"We'll go to some of them, my dear." White said. "I don't know when the next shift will be though."

Before Lucian could ask what White meant, Black covered her mouth his his hand. "You'll find out soon enough. Just don't freak out when the time comes."

"Well now that we're done talking about these, let's go to the Clock Tower." White said, and he then turned his head towards Rein. "You're coming too."

Rein bowed his head down. "As you wish, Master Joker."

During their way to the Clock Tower, Lucian couldn't help but ask questions to the previous king. Some of her questions weren't answered though. She asked who the queen was, or if there was a knight in the castle. Rein tried his best to walked around those two questions the most. However, one question from Lucian did get his interest.

"Hey, Rein?

"Yes?"

"What happens when the role holder loses his or her role in Wonderland? Would they lose their eyes, and become normal like the faceless again?"

"Why do you ask, Lady Lucian?" Rein asked.

"I'm just curious. You don't have a role anymore, yet you still have eyes. But to tell you the truth, I see eyes in every person in this world. Does that sound weird to you?"

"...no." Rein shook his head a bit. "I do not think of it as weird at all. I think that it's wonderful that you are able to see faces in everyone in this world. It means that you are special and a one of a kind." He smiled and walked ahead of the three.

"He thinks I'm special, Black." Lucian whispered to Black.

"Because you are." Black said, and he pinched Lucian on the cheek. "And why the hell are you blushing?"

"I-I'm not." Lucian quickly looked away, trying to hide her blushing face from both Black and White.

"My doll, if you want, I can compliment you twenty-four seven until you get sick of me." White smiled cutely only to be smack on the head by Black. "Ow."

"Are you trying to be a creep?" Black asked, glaring at White. "Don't be a creep, please."

"No. I only want my love to see how much I love her." White replied as he rubbed the back of his head. "You can compliment Lucian, too, Black. How about I compliment you too, Black?"

"Hell no!"

"Black, you're goo-"

"Don't even fucking finish that sentence, clown!" Black removed his hand from Lucian before chasing after White.

"Ahahaha!" White only laugh as he run around in circle. "I haven't even finish what I wanted to say."

"Your compliment is an insult to me!"

Lucian sighed as she watch her boyfriends run around like little kids in front of her. "Come on, you two. Guys..." She sighed once more before deciding to walk towards the two. If this continues, they'll take a whole day just to get to the Clock Tower.

"You dare finish you little shit compliment inside your head! I'm gonna kill you!" Black shouted.

"Ahahaha!"

Hearing the three with their shouting and laughter, Rein quietly turned his body back. He watched Lucian wrap her arms around Black, and trying to pull the warden off of the ring master, who continued to laugh even after being shaken, choke, and punch by his counterpart. He must love feeling pain.

"..." Rein blinked, remembering what his master Leo told him before leaving Wonderland.

Leo was walking down the hallway of the castle when he saw Rein, sitting beside a water fountain, looking at the night sky. "Hey, Rein." Leo grinned, walked over to the Rein, and ruffled his head. "What are you doing out here? It's late."

"I'm just looking at the stars, master Leo." You Rein replied.

"Mind if I join you?"

"I do not mind at all."

Leo smiled as he sat beside Rein. "Can I tell you something?"

"What is it, master?" Rein asked, turning his attention to Leo.

"Do you believe that faceless without a role don't have eyes?"

"Yes. I mean, I don't have eyes."

Hearing those words come out of Rein, Leo laughed, and pinched Rein on the cheek. "Silly, you do have eyes."

"Huh?" Rein didn't know what Leo was talking about. He was raise at a young age that faceless without a role will never have eyes. "What are you talking about?"

"Rein, you grew up into a handsome young man. You have amazing blue eyes, like mine."

"...!" Rein's mouth fell slightly. He has eyes? "W-what?"

"If you just look closely, you'll see that everyone in this world have eyes, Rein. Do you want to know why?" Seeing Rein nod his head, Leo continued. "It's because every living beings in Wonderland have a role, no matter how small it is. The role holders, that's a just a title, nothing more. I want you to know that you have an important role in this world. Just look closely and you'll see. Most people in this world are just too blind to see the truth. But not you, I know that you will be able to see what Aria and I can see someday. I hope for my baby to see what I can see in the future, too."

"Baby?" Rein tilted his head.

Leo smiled and placed a finger on his lips. "Keep it a secret to everyone, okay? If you do, I'll treat you to ice cream."

"Okay!"

"Good."

Master, what you said is true. Lady Lucian is just like you and Queen Aria, Rein thought. His lips twitched upward as he watch Lucian lecture Black, who was kneeling on the ground about him beating White up and how it's bad and all. Rein then moved his eyes to White, who was laughing quietly the whole time as he laid on the ground, next to Lucian.

Master, I hope you're seeing this, wherever you are. The three of them are finally together. I just hope this would last forever.
