Everything sped by in a blur. You would expect it to move slowly, but time seemed to speed up. In the seconds that followed, Dante pulled out his twin pistols and fired into the demon's face.
The only word to describe the terrible sound it made is a shriek. It was incredibly high-pitched, and the demon shook its head, trying to dislodge the pain the bullets had caused. A rustling noise drew both Dante and the demon's attention to L.
L had stood nearly straight up. As he turned, even Dante felt a chill go down his spine. L glared at the demon, then walked slowly towards it.
"You. Ruined. My. Cake." He said, voice low and threatening. Even the demon backed up, momentarily distracted from the pain of its ruined eye.
Dante didn't think L would actually be good in a fight; He just wanted him to help track down the demon he was after. So, he was very surprised when L ran at the demon. The demon was surprised too, and so wasn't able to defend itself when L kicked it in its face.
The demon howled in pain, as L's foot as hit near the eye, and it was now trying to escape the gun and sword toting demon hunter, and the kung fu madman.
Dante shook his head. "You aren't getting away that easily." He had pulled the sword from the ceiling while the demon was distracted, and now plunged it into the demon's tail and through the floor, effectively pinning the demon in place.
It clawed at the floor, frantic, but Dante quickly incapacitated it with a few shots to the back of its skull.
Dante looked over at L. "We should leave before management or the police come in here. I'm sure a sword stabbing through the ceiling would alarm anyone in the room below, let alone the gun shots."
L glared at him. "You owe me cake."
Dante sighed. "Fine, I'll get you a cake later. Now, we have to go." L nodded to himself; Dante was right. Even if L was a detective, something like this wouldn't go unpunished with the local police force. In whatever situation he envisioned, if he stayed he would be going to jail, at least for the night.
He quickly packed his stuff and followed Dante out.
Done. Finally. Not very long... But how was it, guys? ^w^
