Chapter 25:Where Do You Belong?

"Let me out!" Her voice boomed every five seconds, proceeded by several bangs on the door.

Saruhiko silently looked over his watch since he locked Haruna up. It was this girl's stubbornness fault. The lieutenant had asked Haruna if she let the red king escape and she refused to answer. In fact, she remained silent and refused to answer any further questions. As there is no longer a jailhouse, there was only one other option.

"I can't believe you could lock me up in my own room…!"

"Would you prefer if I kept you in the jailhouse cellar?"

The thumping behind the door stopped straight away. Must've given up already, but surprising because she's such a stubborn girl. What was even more surprising was what occurred an hour prior. The jailhouse was incapable of holding a king. In fact, Mikoto could've escaped anytime. It was the sight of Haruna at his side that had set him off. She knew that she had been fraternizing with the reds, but not to the extent of allying with the king. The lieutenant lined up the men and prepared to apprehend Mikoto, only to realize afterwards that it was futile and the red king prepared to counter attack. Saruhiko watched as he looked down at her, conversing with her. Quickly, she clung onto his shirt. What had followed was his aura breaking through his shield, defeating the clansmen and destroying the surrounding area. Looking up from the aftermath and charred surroundings, the stupid girl stood unscathed. A standing, lone blue coat amongst burning flames; Mikoto's flames wouldn't hurt a thing unless he willed it.

"You don't belong here, Haruna."

The captain shouldn't have taken interest in her. Everything concerning her situation was ill-fated. He should've known since that day she saw him with Misaki.

"If blues aren't allowed to have closeness with HOMRA-" Saruhiko heard a sharp crack, followed by the door squeaking open. Before he realized what was happening and unsheathed his saber, Haruna already had a hand on the back of his neck.

"Then I really don't belong here." She said before a jolt of pain traveled throughout his body.

He fell to his knees, still clutching his saber tightly as he gave quick gasps of breath. Haruna was fast enough to catch him off guard like that and used her aura to shock him. The pain was bearable enough to allow him to quickly stand. Clutching his stomach and readying his saber, Saruhiko towards her and noticed the tears that began to fall down her face.

"Why… are you being such a baby?" He murmured loud enough for her to hear him, "Are you going to leave or not?"

His gaze fell down her figure and focused on the wound he'd given her hours prior. Judging by how she was standing, her leg was still weak from that injury and used most of her energy to breakout. She changed out of her uniform and into white, long t-shirt with a pair of leggings; most likely some sort of sleeping attire. Saruhiko noticed the fresh blood that continued to dye her bandage into a darker red. He didn't think he pierced her skin that badly, but he did coat it in his red aura.

"You'll get caught like that." He stated matter-of-factly. Her face winced at his comment and she seethed back at him.

"Shut up! What are you looking at..." Muttering under her breath, she clenched her fists and glared at him with intense ferocity.

"Perhaps coming here was a mistake after all." She admitted to him. The tears that dried up were soon replaced with new ones.

"After you came into my life, I was just some poor high school kid who was too hasty and too desperate for my own good... I'm going to do what I want to do now and what I think is right. For all of us."

Haruna turned her back from him and left him with few more words.

"Leave me alone."

"That girl… she was with the red king during his escape."

"Poor girl must've been terrorized into helping him escape."

"It would've been honorable for her to refuse and fight back."

"Women are so easily seduced to doing things."

Haruna remembered hissing at the last clansman's comment as she was being carried back to her room by Saruhiko. She was all the talk as they passed by those clusters of men. How disgraceful she was. Now she's in the middle of breaking out of Scepter 4 headquarters, silently knocking out clansmen who were in the way of her escape or noticed her and attempted to apprehend her. Eighteen years old and knocking people out. She hadn't felt this bad ass since she beat up the playground bully in primary school. Not to mention that she was also injured. Super bad ass.

"I repeat-"Awashima's voice blared loudly throughout the head quarter's intercoms, "All doors are on lock down. Detain Haruna Aigasa on sight. The target is injured, but hostile. Approach with caution."

Approach with caution? She ran those words through her brain. It made her out to be a vicious animal. The blood started pumping faster insider her body as Haruna continued to run through the halls. She felt more blood spill into the cloth around her upper leg and she started to feel herself weaken. She used her aura to blast the next door out into the courtyard. What a joke, perhaps these were doors strains couldn't break, but these were no problem. Waiting for her outside were Doumyoji and Akiyama, those whom she is very familiar with. One was drawn and pointed towards her.

"Aigasa-chan! Get back into the building!" The younger of the three yelled back and wave his sword towards her hesitantly.

"You don't want to do this, Aigasa-kun." Akiyama advised her cautiously, the one person who didn't have his saber drawn,"You're still injured."

Haruna looked down at her leg and felt even more blood leave her body after using her aura to break the doors down. She looked back up at them impassively.

"I don't care."

Andy rushed towards her, telling her that she would regret defecting from hand of justice. Her legs wouldn't move from their position, leaving her to watch the clansman deliver her an impending blow. She closed her eyes and prepared herself, the memory returning into her head. The girl asked if she could come with the king. Upon first meeting, he had approved. When HOMRA talked about their king there was fondness. Haruna wanted to meet the aggressive, yet considerate and domineering, but gentle red king. She wanted to meet Mikoto Suoh, the man who brought together her friends as family and looked out for them. The furious sound of skateboard wheels invaded her ears and she heard Doumyoji yelling.

"Move out of the way, HOMRA's shorty!"

Someone flew in front of her and blocked the blow with metal bat, one hand on the handle and the other pushing it back towards the sword.

"How about I shove this bat up your ass?!"

"Yata-kun...!" Haruna yelped.

The boy gave a menacing growl towards Doumyoji and pushed him back. He swung his bat forward, barely missing the blue's stomach. Yata propped his skateboard up and placed the bat over his shoulder.

"The girl clearly wants to leave, carrot top. Shove off."

Yata turned his head back to Haruna, who still couldn't believe what was happening.

"Mikoto-san said there was this idiot girl who was following him, but she fell behind and he accidentally left her."

"Idiot?!"

"You're gonna die, red head twerp!" Doumyoji readied his sword again, but Akiyama, who remained passive extended an arm out to stop him.

"Just leave, Haruna." Akiyama nodded his head towards Yata and Haruna and looked back at the remanants of the gate broken by Mikoto,"Just know that once you pass those gates, you'll be considered an ally of HOMRA. I'm also unsure of what the captain plans to do after hearing about this."

She gave out a self-deprecating laugh and slumped to the ground. Her leg was in so much pain, but she continued to laugh,"I don't know either. I'm just not coming back; and even if I did everyone would look down on me!'

She's also totally broken the pact she made when she received her aura. Becoming a worthy swordsman of honor and faith; a guardian of the blue justice. The world wasn't at peace either. Haruna looked up at Yata and the tears started to spill again. She also took those words with uncertainty. She felt so empty that day, yet overwhelmed.

This direction she headed into reached a dead end.

"Gah... it hurts..." She grew a pained, but wide smile. She also started to grow a little tired. Haruna saw Yata's brows furrow together. A face of irritation. No... maybe worry?

Then the world turned turned black.

Misaki rolled down the path on his skateboard. A lot faster now that he had more weight. It was easy knowing that they'd let them out easy, but carrying someone while riding... definitely not easy, even for him. On the bright side, he isn't carrying Kamamoto.

Gah... It hurts...

Hurt so bad she passed out? She's also still losing a bit blood. It was uncomfortable saving a blue clansman of all people, but this girl, she defected didn't she? Misaki looked down at her face and noticed a smudge of blood on her cheek. Her clothes were also dusty and the blood that dripped down her leg from her bandage had dried down to her knee. Careful, he avoided touching the soaked bandage as he carried her- bridal style. He's never been this close to a girl like this before.

How did someone so good humored, infecting everyone with her lightheartedness become so broken?

Haruna could've inflicted it upon herself. She could've sat on her sword, but even the stupidest idiot could pull that off and manage to inflict a deep wound like her's. Besides, Mikoto-san wasn't the one who injured her. He knew that. He's not like that, so it had to be a blue.

"It's whatever now..." He grumbled as he skated across the bridge to Ashinaka,"I'll make sure they all pay when they get in our away again.
