"No. No fucking way," I growled, shaking my head, viciously.
I stood in front of Ben, my arms angrily crossed. Did he really think that I was going to go through my damn phone? I could get lost in there! And it could all be a trap for all I know. He could just be playing nice, when he is actually planning on stabbing me in the back. Ben's eyes were narrowed as he stared at me, frustratedly tapping his foot.
"How did you think you were going to get there? Walk through the front door like you own the place? I told you that you weren't going to meet anyone just yet, besides Jeff."
"Well I'm not going through there!" I growled, pushing my glasses higher up on my nose.
"What happen to all that fearlessness I had been seeing?" he smirked, placing his hands on his hips. "What, is Winter finally trembling with terror?" he taunted, causing my face to flush red.
"Well, I am terribly sorry that my nerves are torn from just seeing my best friend killed in front of me!" I hissed, my eyes watering once more.
Ben paused, slightly taken aback. He frowned, then looked back up, an exasperated look in his red and black eyes. "Just get your ass through the phone."
"No!"
"God damn it, Winter!" he snarled.
Without any warning, he grabbed my wrist, yanking me over to my phone. I started pulling back, frantically, his icy cold hand having a stone grip on my wrist.
"Help! Rape! RAPE!" I shouted, causing him to drag me over, my body crashing into his. His mouth was at my ear, a death grip on my wrist.
"Say another word. And I will ensure you get lost in there," he hissed. "You're going through either way. So I recommend you stay quiet, doll," he purred.
I glared at him, pulling back. Sighing in defeat, I watched as he reached towards my phone, the screen lighting up right as his fingers touched it. I watched as the screen turned to static, his fingers slowly disappearing inside. He continued, his form beginning to bend as it fit through the tiny screen. His hand tugged me forward, as I snapped my eyes shut, not wanting to see what would happen.
A strange sensation began to take over me, causing me to clench my eyes shut even more. It felt as if I were weightless, unable to feel anything but Ben's icy cold hand. I peeked my eyes open, a startled breath echoing from my lips. Coding surrounded us, a strange, neon greenish color. A disarray of numbers and letters, in no apparent pattern. Pages of computer screens flew by as Ben continued to take me forward, his head leaning back so he could smirk at me. I rolled my eyes, Ben suddenly stopping in the middle of all of the mess.
"Alrighty, here we are," he nodded his head, signalling to a pale white box.
It was the screen of a computer, I guessed. Through it, I could see what looked like a messy teenager's room. Dimly lit, electronics strewn all over the floor. A bed sat in the corner, the green blankets and pillows thrown all around on top. Random games, disks and controllers laid around, and a giant TV sat on the right wall. Without warning, Ben started through the screen, pulling me into the room. We nearly collapsed on the desk, the keys of his keyboard clicking beneath our weight. He chuckled, sliding off the desk before helping me off as well.
"I always hate that part," he chuckled, smoothing out his tunic.
I looked around, wrapping my arms around myself. Well... I guess this was going to be my new home, for how much longer I was going to be alive that is. I still didn't believe that he didn't intend on killing me.
"Nice room..." I mumbled, not knowing what else to say.
He grinned once more, walking over and plopping down on the green beanbag that sat in front of the TV. "I know right," he snarkily replied, causing me to roll my eyes.
"You're such a troll."
"I thought I was an elf?"
"Well, you're that too."
"Can't be both," he shook his head, his smirk growing.
"Well, your a strange thingy either way."
"A strange thingy?"
"Yep."
"I don't believe I took that the same way you did."
"Shut up, Benjamin."
"Come make me, Winter."
My mouth set in a line as I nodded my head.
Challenge Accepted.
I barreled forward, my strange form of a battle cry flying from my lips as I plowed into him, tackling him to the ground. A grunt flew from his lips as his back hit the ground, his hands pinned above his head as I held him down.
"Rawr," I stated, bleakly, hovering above him.
He grinned, shaking his head, his hat barely still hanging on to his head. "You are so, so very weird," he murmured. His grin then turned into his usual smirk as he shifted below me. "I didn't know you were this forward, Winter. Very sexy," he sneered.
I nearly face palmed, hurriedly scrambling away from him. I heard his cocky laugh as he sat back up, repositioning himself on his beanbag chair. I had so many insults planned in my head, but I wasn't in the mood to start any more fights with him. It was pointless, actually. Yet... kind of fun to an extent. He allowed me to forget what had happened today, just a little bit. I would never forget... but, I'd be lying if I said he wasn't helping. All of a sudden, there was a knock on Ben's bedroom door. Ben froze, before his head snapped over to it.
"What do you want," he called, irritated.
"It's Jeff, you fuck," the voice called, sounding oddly familiar.
"Oh, sweet," Ben mumbled, standing up and going to the door.
He opened it, a man walking inside. I only saw his back as Ben shut the door behind him, locking it. "So, is your little friend here yet?" Jeff asked, sounding a bit bored. All Ben did was nod, pointing over to where I stood. When the man turned around... it felt as though my entire world was about to collapse in on me. The bleached face. The singed hair. Lidless eyes. Carved smile. Bloodstained white hoodie. It was him. I saw his smile grow into a wide smirk, recognition flickering through his eyes as well. My fists clenched at my sides, anger boiling up inside me until it was unbearable. Without thinking, I lunged at the son of a bitch, red coating my vision.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" I screamed, nearly reaching him, until Ben lunged in front, holding me back. "I'LL KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
He let out a hysterical laugh, throwing his head back. "Yeah, and how do you plan on doing that, princess?" he sneered.
"Winter, what the hell has gotten into you?" Ben yelled.
"HE'S THE ONE WHO KILLED DARREN!" I screamed.
