Chapter 14: She's mine

Last chapter: After Yumi stabbed and left the lifeless body of Shizuru, her once knight, in the arm of her lover, Natsuki. Yumi used her power to wake up the power that was sleeping within this girl, who might relate to her childhood friend, Rajak Kertia.

Natsuki felt nothing but hurt in both of her head and her heart. She couldn't stand the idea of losing her lover, her soulmate. And something kept screaming in the back of her head. It was like a whisper at first, "Take her. She's yours now." It became louder and louder each second pass. She couldn't take it any longer, Natsuki couldn't form a clear thought. Her mind was fogged by the voice.

- FLASHBACK -

Growing up Natsuki never knew who her father was. She just knew her mother was a gentle and busy woman. She loved her very much and always protected her from villagers. The whole villagers hated her, though they didn't show it outwardly due to respect for her mother, the most powerful and wise woman of the village. Everything happened after her mother died. They wanted to throw her out of their village and banned her from her own home but they were so scare of her mother's power that might still around to protect their surrounding house so they ignored her for years. Due to her nature, Natsuki didn't age after her 18th birthday and that was when her mom died from mysterious reason. Yes, she wasn't human. She didn't know what she is either. Her mother, Saeko Kruger, was beloved daughter of werewolf leader in Japan. However, she didn't know why instead of living with their own people, they have to mingle with human. Whenever she asked her mom about that, she dismissed it immediately and was sad for awhile. And her mother had never mentioned anything about her father either ergo she thought he must abandon them before she was born, but it was all wrong.

She lived in peaceful and quietly for years until one day when the daughter of clan leader got strange disease. All doctors in the village could not diagnose her illness, they thought it might be a curse. Hence they blamed it on her, unaged girl. They gathered around with torches and weapons. She had promised that she would not hurt human with her power so she left her own home that night and never looked back. Years later she heard that none of them survive after invasion of nearby clan but she would be careless.

Natsuki wandered all over Japan and became the best swordsman even though her shooting skill was much better than sword skill but it was the world of sword back then. Everything changed when she arrived in Kyoto for her job. She met her grandfather there and they didn't have a good start but thanks to the most beautiful creature that she had ever seen, she helped her amended all the wounds from the past and started a new life. [This is another story, I shall not dig deeper] She was with her goddess since then and waited with her unconditionally. They had been through many adventures together and became inseparable.

Laying here lifelessly in her lover's arm. Shizuru didn't know what happened next would change her life forever. Well she would have forever anyway but this would be different from before her master.

"Take her. . . . take her . . . ", whispering sound in Natsuki's head. It was small and seemed far away but Natsuki could not understand the meaning of it. She was so foggy and she had no control to herself anymore. The only thing she wanted was her Zuru woke up and smiled at her. That was everything in her mind at that moment. And then it happened, It took over her mind, that voice became louder and louder. It was her inner voice, the one that was woken up by Yumi's power.

That power was stronger than whatever she had experienced before. Her eyes flicked back and forth from red to burning blue. They are fighting to dominant in her body but they still had one target that was protecting and loving their owner and its owner beloved. Suddenly, she howled with pain. Her green eyes changed to red ruby, her midnight blue hair changed to a colour that was a mix of dark blue and a hint of purple, and the important thing was the powerful green power that emitted around her body and slowly increased to the point that covered all Shizuru's body and the area around them. Looked down at her lover, didn't know what was really happening but she felt it was right somehow. Her usual weapon, a silver crossbow, suddenly appeared in front of her from nowhere and it was calling her to touch it. Right after touching the crossbow, every piece of memories of previous owners flashed by her eyes. She could feel the joy and the sorrow of these people and for the first time, she know how her father looked like. The joy he felt when connecting to his soul weapon the first time and the painful moment when his brother stabbed him. The surge of power from it passed through her body and merged with her waiting soul, her whole body was surrounded by this beautiful jade light and suddenly, from nowhere there was a green hollow arrow shot straight into her body. She felt whole.

At the same time, the painful scream from a young man in the dark chamber rocked the whole mansion.

"Are you alright, master", a shaking voice asked at the door.

"Go away", an angry and shaky voice replied back. "Wait"

"Are you sure, that bastard of my stupid brother was dead?", he asked his servant doubtfully. "500 years and it still remembered the rightful owner. At least, just half of it." He murmured quietly to himself. "Go away, I still need time to recover" He yelled at his servant.

Back to Natsuki, with her new found power, she knew exactly what must be done. Carrying Shizuru in her arms, walking slowly but firmly toward their house.

- FLASHBACK (300 years ago) -

"Seriously, Shizuru. You wanna settle in this place?" Natsuki said frustratedly and looked around the area. They were in the middle of greenwood. After Shizuru negotiated successfully with Japanese high council about having a place to teach young youkai from either noble or normal families across country how to live and work in human world. It was different from before. We could not compare to the number of human on this land and they had developed so much that could be a big threat to them. Thus building a school here to maintain the balance between human and yokai world was the best solution. Moreover, this school would only admit rich or talented children so they could use them in the future. However, they must agree that Shizuru would have ultimate power over the school and her students.

Looking at their house in the last 300 years, it was full of their happy and sad moments together. Natsuki kissed on Shizuru's forehead and slowly walked into the house. Walked into their bedroom, Natsuki placed her beloved gently down in their bed. She brushed loose strands of hair from Shizuru's for head aside, and caressed her paling cheek gently. With knowledge and power of all Kertia clan leaders, she decided to do one thing that she wanted to do for a long time. It was making Shizuru her and only her officially. Because of the link between Shizuru and Yumi, she could not use her werewolf power to mate with Shizuru but she could now. Positioned herself next to Shizuru slowly, Natsuki called out her soul weapon. However instead of the crossbow, it was a silver knife now. She joined their hands together and made a clean cut on both hands. Their blood were flowing out and merge together. The jade light was not only cover Natsuki but also her love as well. This ritual was not a common one. It wasn't between master and knight, it was different. It was mating bond. This bond was not only connecting two souls together but also testing their feeling toward each other and the compatibility between them. It was difficult to explain this ritual. Since this bond was permanent and there was no way to break this bond even one of the pair deceased. Moreover, it was really dangerous to combine two powerful spirits together because it might corrupt one of them if something went wrong. Hence the high council made a rule to not using this bond unless it was truly merging two souls together for eternity and in order to do so there were a soul challenging that both of them must go through to complete the ritual. [This will be another story]

- DORM'S AREA -

Back to Yumi, after she left Shizuru with Natsuki. She walked slowly back to her dorm. It was a long day and she would be happy to have a nice shower and sleep. Shizuru was in good hand anyway and she would deal with the rest later. Moreover, she hadn't seen her roommate since the day she moved in. She would love to make new friend today. Yumi enjoyed her trip back to dorm peacefully. It was indeed a nice day.

Her happy mood changed once she closed her room's door behind. Her inner self awoke with the feeling of something familiar and her heartbeat raised uncontrolly. Especially when she saw who came out of bathroom, it was no other than Sachiko Ogasawara. She was in blue satin night dress, it hugged her body and highlighted her features nicely. Yumi couldn't imagine to get this private sight of her lover so soon after 500 years. She couldn't bring herself to announce her appearance. As if Sachiko sensed someone was watching her, she turned to the source of the heat. She was surprised when she saw her Yumi in her room. Sachiko blushed at the thought of claiming Yumi as hers. She composed herself quickly after the shocking sight.

"Why are you here, Yumi-chan", she asked gently.

In the meantime, somewhere nearby, there are two figures were seating at the balcony and they were watching sunset together, One person was using the other shoulder as pillow. They chucked lightly. They had an interesting conversation together which might turn their life up side down soon.

"It seems they meet again." One of them started.

"Sounds like, this boring life will end soon." The other laugh lightly.

"Will you join the game?"

"You wanna know which side will I be? You know it already, right?" This one sighed and kissed the other forehead hesitantly.

"I knew. let's enjoy this time then." The other sighed contently and rested against the other closely.

Who are they? What will happen to Natsuki and Shizuru? What will happen next? I don't even know yet. But hope I will know soon.
