Operation: Rescue Daisuke

Daisuke's eyes groggily opened up and she saw a dark ceiling above her and she was surrounded by dim candles. "Where am I?" She remembered what happened after the battle with Kabuto and Orochimaru. "That slimy snake, wait until I find him," she snarled before she tried to move but found herself strapped to a cold steel slab. Several intravenous bags were attached to her body. "What is this? What's happening?" A door opened and she looked to see Orochimaru still with bandaged arms and Kabuto walk into the room.
"Finally up Daisuke?" Orochimaru asked with a spinechilling chuckle and he waved his snake like tongue around his lips.
"What're you doing to me!?" Daisuke shouted at them angrily.
"Despite the power of the Mangekyo Sharingan, I personally believe that the cost isn't worth it. However, I found another use for you," Orochimaru explained.
"Whatever it is, don't even try it!" Daisuke snapped before she spat at Orochimaru making him frown at her. He slapped her across the face making her gasp at the stinging sensation.
"You'd do best to stay silent. And I might let you go, when I am done with you," he hissed and Daisuke's eyes widened.
"You better not being thinking of even unzipping your pants around me you sick paedophile!" she shouted in outrage making Kabuto and Orochimaru chuckle at her. "And what do you mean about cost? The Mangekyo Sharingan takes a lot of chakra, but isn't that it?"
"So you haven't noticed?" Orochimaru asked with a little surprise. "We I won't spoil the surprise. But nothing so barbaric I assure you. Rather we're going to make you our latest experiment," Kabuto said with an evil smirk.
"You can't," Daisuke said in a barely audible whisper.
"Who is going to stop us? You? That's impossible. Even if you weren't restrained by chakra cancelling cuffs, you're a mere Genin, albeit a very talented one that could give most Chunin a run for their money. Against a Sannin and me, you can't escape now," Kabuto informed her. Orochimaru smirked at her before he looked at Kabuto and nodded.
"Do you know why I was chased out of the village?" he asked Daisuke.
"Because you did forbidden experiments on children of Konoha."
"Is that what they taught you in the academy?" Orochimaru asked but he continued before Daisuke could reply. "Yes I did experiment on children, but you see I was grafting the cells of Hashirama Senju into their bodies in hopes of them gaining access to the Wood Style Kekkei Genkai. Unfortunately, all but one died. And now I am going to use the last of the cells I have in my possession to graft them into your body. It will either kill you or give you Wood Style, either result will satisfy me," he told Daisuke. "Seeing the combined bloodlines of the Senju and Uchiha will be very interesting, and when I one day obtain the Sharingan for myself, well, this will be an excellent study case." Daisuke looked at him in fear.
"Naruto, Kiba….Sasuke, please save me." Miles away in the Hokage's office, there was a loud confrontation taking place.
"What do you mean we can't go and get her back!?" Naruto shouted to Tsunade who was sitting behind the Hokage's desk in the Hokage Tower back in Konoha.
"Naruto, we don't know where she is. Orochimaru has a dozen bases scattered throughout the Elemental Nations, he could have her in any one of them," Jiraiya told his pupil.
"You're just making excuses!" Naruto shouted angrily.
"Now you're being absurd, I care about Daisuke as well, but I am not going to waste time going on a wild goose chase until we know exactly where she is," Jiraiya told Naruto calmly. "If you were right where we last saw her, which direction would you run in?"
"But, by the time that happens…Daisuke could be dead," Naruto pleaded.
"I don't think Orochimaru would kill an Uchiha that he has captured," Jiraiya said and Naruto looked at him for further explanation. "Orochimaru wants to learn all the worlds' jutsu, and to do that he needs the Sharingan because it will shorten the time he needs to learn each one."
"So he plans to steal Daisuke's eyes?" Naruto asked.
"No. he developed a jutsu that allows him to take over peoples bodies and replace their souls with his own, extending his life," Jiraiya answered.
"That's sick. And he's going to steal Daisuke's?" Naruto asked.
"Even though I don't want to admit it. But yes, it's a possibility," Jiraiya told Naruto.
"That's even more of a reason to find Daisuke and fast!" he told Tsunade and Jiraiya.
"Naruto, I understand your concern but you can't do anything, you're a Genin. If you went against Orochimaru on your own you would be killed instantly," Tsunade told him and Naruto growled but before he could react the door opened and Danzo limped into the room. "What do you want Danzo?" Tsunade asked him.
"I came to see you Tsunade. Good to see you have put the village above the feelings of individuals," Danzo said.
"I'm the Hokage now Danzo, refer to me by my title," Tsunade warned him.
"Apologies Lady Hokage," Danzo said through gritted teeth.
"What're you doing here anyway?" Jiraiya asked him.
"I have heard that you let one of our two Uchiha get captured by Orochimaru. Is this true?" Danzo asked.
"How did you hear about that? I haven't told anyone yet," Tsunade said.
"I have sources and the fact you returned without the Uchiha female, only supported my claim," Danzo said.
"Her name is Daisuke you old bastard. Use it," Naruto growled.
"It was her worth as an Uchiha, not an individual that worries me," Danzo countered. "The fact that it was Orochimaru who got his hands on her only makes the situation worse." He turned to Tsunade. "What are you planning on doing Lady Hokage?"
"We'll start sending out squads to every known and suspected hideout and Jiraiya will keep an eye on his spy network. A skilled tracking team will also be sent to the site of her disappearance. I'm afraid that I can't do anything passed that." Danzo nodded.
"Satisfactory measures. I'm glad you're taking the village's security seriously." With a short bow, Danzo left the room.
"He really rubs me the wrong way," Naruto growled. "So when can we get started looking for Daisuke?"
"You," Tsunade began, "are not going anywhere. Your speed is satisfactory but lower than the scouting squads, you have almost no skill with tracking, and lastly you're too emotionally invested. Take a break Naruto."
"WHAT!" An aghast express had placed itself on his face.
"You heard me," Tsunade growled. "Dismissed Genin Uzumaki." With a grimace, Naruto jumped out the window and headed towards one place no one would ever think he would head willingly.
"Sasuke! Sasuke!" he shouted running towards Sasuke's house, and he barged through the door and found Sasuke halfway through his lunch.
"Dope, what do yo-," he was cut off by Naruto.
"Daisuke's be kidnapped by Orochimaru!" Sasuke's eyes considerably widened at this information.
"She's been WHAT!?"
"What I just said, we had defeated Kabuto when we were going to retrieve Tsunade as the next Hokage and when we weren't looking Kabuto captured Daisuke and left before we could stop him," Naruto explained in a single breath.
"No. no. not again!" Sasuke shouted in anger. "I can't lose the last member of my clan, not like this," he said in despair.
"Sasuke, look I know this sounds crazy, but we can save her," Naruto told him.
"And how do we do that?" Sasuke asked him.
"We go and find her ourselves, Tsunade won't let us search personally because she thinks we aren't the best fit and are too emotionally invested, but who cares! It's because we care about Daisuke that we'll find her! Who knows how much time Daisuke has left?"
"You do realise that would be leaving the village effectively going rogue, we'd be hunted down," Sasuke told him but Naruto smirked.
"Not if we leave our headbands here, we could have, say, forgotten to put them on when we left the village."
"That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard you say, and that's saying a lot. Even ignoring that, how are two Genin going to rescue Daisuke from Orochimaru who is a Sannin?" Sasuke asked him.
"Um….damn good point," Naruto said. "But we can't just think that way!"
"But we can't ignore it either dope! I want to rescue her maybe even more than you, but she would never forgive us if we died trying to save her because we didn't plan this out!"
"Yes. How are you two going to rescue Daisuke?" Both ninja froze as they turned to see Kakashi leaning against the wall looking them in the eyes and without his porn book anywhere in sight.
"What? We weren't talking about that. Nope. You heard wrong," Naruto said quickly and Kakashi gave him a look.
"Don't try to lie Naruto. I heard most of your conversation, and let me say one thing…" he said making Naruto gulp while Sasuke was also nervous. "I approve,"
"You what?" Both Sasuke and Naruto asked him.
"I said I approve of your willingness to do anything to get Daisuke back; those who break the rules are trash, but those who abandon their friends are worse than trash."
"Phew, that's a relief," Naruto said and Sasuke rolled his eyes at his teammates reaction.
"One problem though. I don't think I can accompany you," Kakashi said and seeing his two Genin's looks he continued. "If you leave, even if you're rated as rogue ninja, returning with Daisuke will probably grant you a pardon. If both of you and myself leave, there's no way that there won't be serious consequences. Two low level ninja, albeit highly valuable ones, are much less of a threat without one of the village's best Jonin with them. I can also cover for you guys for a brief time if I stay."
"Really?"
"There are many Genin here, and I can say I gave you two time off due to stress from Daisuke being kidnapped," Kakashi said.
"And that would work?" Sasuke asked.
"I doubt it would hold up for more than a day, maybe two if we're incredibly lucky, and then Tsunade and a few others would see through the lie. Hopefully by that time you guys are far enough away to avoid being captured immediately. Oh, and you might want to start at the site of the battle where she disappeared" Kakashi said with a shrug before he vanished in a cloud of smoke.
"Is it just me or is this going to go pear shaped quickly?" Naruto asked.
"I agree, but the more time we waste the less time we have before we get tracked down," Sasuke said.
"Yeah. But we need Kiba and Akamaru, they're really good trackers so they might help us save Daisuke," Naruto said and Sasuke nodded as both of them left the Uchiha compound.
Daisuke meanwhile was covered in her own blood and several incisions lined her body, she panted heavily trying to stay consciousness and cognitive. Orochimaru and Kabuto had left her strapped to the table with chakra shackles and they waited for her to die or for the cells to assimilate into her body. "I….need….to….get…free," she panted before she looked at her wrists and ankle. "Well I can use my chakra, but there's nothing I can do that would break these. I don't want to die, I really don't. I have to get out of here. I'm sorry guys," she whimpered through the pain of her cut up body. Her clothes were in tatters and some blood soaked her hair. Glaring harder, Daisuke found her Mangekyo Sharingan activating as she glared at her restraints. "There!"
"Watatsumi," she whispered and the chakra shackles failed. The door opened and Kabuto walked into the room and he stood over Daisuke smugly.
"Well, you're still alive so far. But you could still die," he told her.
"Like hell am I dying today!" Daisuke screamed with all her strength before jumping up and kicking him in the face. He staggered backwards and Daisuke mustered up all the chakra she could. The silver lining she saw in this situation was that her effective chakra reserves had gone up after they had… no, she didn't want to think about it. Kabuto was engulfed in black fire as she cried out, "Amaterasu," and sent him reeling backwards while screaming. Without pausing Daisuke ran from the room as quickly as she could. She ignored the fact that her vision was starting to blur. "Definitely something the snake did," she told herself. Behind her another Kabuto walked out from the shadows.
"Good thing I substituted with a corpse clone the moment she kicked me," he commented. "Now I suppose I should stop her."
Outside the Leaf Village, Kiba, Naruto, Akamaru, and Sasuke were running as fast as they could towards where Daisuke was kidnapped by Kabuto. "I hope Daisuke's alright. If Kabuto or that bastard Orochimaru hurt her, I'll kill them," Kiba growled and Akamaru barked.
"We need to be careful Kiba, Kabuto gave me and Daisuke trouble when we last fought him," Naruto warned Kiba.
"And Orochimaru is even stronger," Sasuke said, remembering the fight in Forest of Death. Akamaru then barked as he sniffed the air and Kiba followed suit. The wind blowed towards them and they perked up.
"I smell Daisuke! She's a few miles away from here." His face turned grim. "And she's badly injured."
"Then let's go," Sasuke ordered, and all three disappeared in a blur.
Daisuke had staggered her way out of the base, miraculously only running into a couple of guards that she could take care of even in her significantly weakened state and managed to run what she thought might have been a mile before suddenly finding herself surrounded by six Sound shinobi.
"It's time for you to come with us," one said, and they all moved in.
"No, no, no, NO!" she screamed, panic falling over her mind. "I won't let you bring me back there!" A wild swing meant to fend off her attackers instead of a very unexpected effect for all present. Spiky trees burst from the ground and impaled the six attacks. Daisuke herself collapsed, feeling her chakra revert to almost nothing and fell into unconsciousness.
Naruto, Sasuke, and Kiba watched stunned for a moment. They had arrived just in time to see Daisuke use Wood Style to kill her attackers, and the surprised temporarily paralysed them before they burst into action again. All of them moved to Daisuke's side.
"Daisuke, are you okay?" Naruto asked in panic. Sasuke felt her pulse.
"She's alive, but weak. We need to get her back to the village as soon as possible." It was only up close that the group managed to see the damage Daisuke had taken. There were cuts and abrasions all over her body, and it was twitching periodically.
"I think we should tell Tsunade about this, and fast before anyone finds out," Kiba said as he lifted Daisuke onto his back. Naruto, Sasuke and Kiba all jumped off and headed as fast as they could back to the Leaf Village.
"So Kakashi, care to explain to me where Naruto and Sasuke are, I did call you here for a mission," Tsunade told the one eyes Jonin.
"I gave them a few days off. Considering that Daisuke was kidnapped," Kakashi answered the Hokage.
"I see, then why did Kurenai report Kiba didn't report in for his team meeting today?" Tsunade asked him.
"I wouldn't know, he's not on my team. Maybe he also is grieving over one of his friends being kidnapped?" Kakashi suggested.
"Right…..you're not lying to me Kakashi are you?" Tsunade asked him with a glint in her eye, and Kakashi gulped before the door slammed open and Shizune ran in.
"Lady Tsunade!" she shouted.
"What is it?"
"Naruto, Sasuke, and Kiba are at the hospital….and Daisuke is with them." Tsunade glared at Kakashi who chuckled nervously.
"Maybe they decided to interpret the time off as do whatever they want?" he suggested weakly.
"You knew they left the village. You knew where they were the whole time," she said and Kakashi sighed and nodded. "I'll deal with their little stunt later. Right now, Daisuke needs attention," she said before she left the office with Shizune. Kakashi sighed in relief.
Tsunade arrived at the hospital and Shizune led her to a room where Daisuke was lying on a bed shivering with Naruto, Sasuke and Kiba surrounding her. "Hey Tsunade," Naruto said before Kiba, Sasuke, and himself were knocked over with a hand wave.
"Get out of the way, I need to diagnose Daisuke," she ordered. She placed a glowing hand on Daisuke's chest. "What's this?" she muttered quietly. "There are some cells in her body that aren't integrating properly. They're slowly binding with existing cells but it'll take some time and she'll be sick while the process takes place. At least they aren't being outright rejected, that would be definitely fatal for her. Fortunately I can speed the process some." Aloud, she stated, "Daisuke's lucky, with my help she'll be back on her feet in a week or two. Her chakra is dangerously low, but prolonged bed rest can fix that. That said, I need to know as much about what happened to her as I can. I can sense abnormalities in her body probably caused by Orochimaru's meddling."
"Well," Naruto began, "we don't know much. But when we came upon Daisuke, she had just used Wood Style to kill a group of Sound ninja, though she didn't look like she knew what she was doing. I thought that no one could use Wood Style anymore."
"You'd be surprised," Tsunade said quietly to herself. To the others, she said, "If my grandfather's cells were implanted into her body, which would explain what we both saw. This is a serious matter that I'll need to think about. For now, I'm leaving an ANBU guard and instituting a no visitor policy until she wakes up. Understood?" The three Genin nodded weakly.
When Tsunade walked out of the room, she saw Danzo waiting outside.
"Tsunade. We need to talk now," Danzo told her.
