Daisuke Uchiha Chapter 23

"What do you want to talk about Danzo?" Tsunade asked the crippled man once they had reached the Hokage's office.
"It is about the Uchiha, Lady Hokage."
"What about her?" Tsunade asked.
"What is the prognosis?"
"She's unconscious due to chakra exhaustion, likely from what Orochimaru did to her when she was his prisoner. She also has several medical abnormalities due to his likely experimentation on her."
"So he didn't mark her with the cursed seal?" Danzo asked.
"As far as we can tell, yes," answered Tsunade.
"This is good…." Danzo trailed off.
"What are you thinking Danzo?" Tsunade thought, looking at Danzo with a calculating look.
"I trust you have taken precautions with her," Danzo said.
"Precautions? She's unconscious and just escaped from Orochimaru," Tsunade said.
"Don't be foolish Tsunade that is precisely what I mean. While she was his prisoner, Orochimaru could have done any number of things. Loyalty seals, an unconscious trigger in her mind, or even implanted memories," Danzo told her. "When she does wake up, if there are any mental triggers found, allow me to take her…."
"Finish that sentence and your head will be hung on the wall faster than you could blink," Tsunade threatened him.
"Let me finish. I was going to say, the mental conditioning that I can give her would likely eliminate any such triggers, if I am made aware of them. Even without them, she most likely will suffer from mental trauma. Let me take her in for the emotional conditioning only, it is for the good of everyone involved," Danzo told Tsunade, making her frown slightly.
"I want Inoichi and Jiraiya to look her over first. If they believe it is necessary, than I will allow you to put her through the emotional conditioning, but that is all. I don't want to find her with that seal you've been rumoured to place on some shinobi who go to you," she said. "And she needs to be awake before I even think of ordering a mind search and a body examination with Jiraiya. I also need to deal with Kiba, Kakashi, Sasuke and Naruto for their actions. If that's all Danzo, you can leave." A stiff bow later, Danzo left the office and Tsunade groaned. She grabbed bottle of whiskey and drank from it.
"Lady Tsunade. Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Kiba Inuzuka, and Kakashi Hatake are here," Shizune said opening the door, and in her wake the four of them stood in front of Tsunade.
"Uh… hey Tsunade. Before you start, it was my fault. I convinced Kiba and Sasuke to come along with me to save Daisuke, and I dragged Kakashi-sensei into it," Naruto claimed, making everyone look at him in surprise.
"Noted, but you are all in trouble regardless. Kakashi for lying to me about not knowing about your whereabouts," Kakashi nodded. "And you three Genin, and I use that term loosely, for insubordination and leaving the village without authorisation. You three are lucky I don't strip you off your headbands now and seal your chakra permanently," she told the three Genin who gulped.
"But we had to save Daisuke! You saw what that snake bastard did to her," Kiba said before Tsunade glared at him.
"There is a village hierarchy for a reason, and orders are given for a reason. You can't think that just because you have a personal stake in a matter that you can do whatever you want! Now, Kiba you're getting off easy. I will be informing your mother of this insubordination. Knowing Tsume, I believe that's enough of a punishment for you."
"Yes Lady Hokage," Kiba gulped, clearly terrified but unwilling to question her again.
"Good. You can leave," Kiba left the office and shut the door. "As for you three!" she shouted. "Until Daisuke has fully and completely recovered from her ordeal, no missions above D-rank, and you're all on probation. Pull something like this again, and you will all be stripped of your rank, have your minds wiped of all jutsu you know, your chakra sealed and thrown in jail. Understood!?" she asked them.
"Yes!" the trio replied.
"As an addition, any promotions that you may have gotten from the last Chunin exams are null and void, you are no longer even in the running. Now get out of here," she told them, and they left the office.
Meanwhile Daisuke was unconscious in her hospital bed with a purple haired female ANBU women watching over her. The young Genin then groaned and opened her eyes before shooting up in shocked.
"Where am I!?"
"Calm down. You're in the Konoha hospital," the ANBU woman told her, and Daisuke looked around before she sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness….." she said. "Wait! How'd I get here?"
"Your teammates brought you here," replied the woman.
"Where are they now?" Daisuke asked.
"I'm sorry. But you're under a no visitors rule until the Hokage has seen you," she answered before she vanished in a swirl of wind. Several minutes later Tsunade walked into the room.
"Good to see you're up Daisuke."
"Thanks hag," Daisuke said with a grin making Tsunade gain a tick mark.
"You're lucky you're already in the hospital. Or I would put you in it," she told Daisuke who smirked.
"Well sorry," she said looking at her before she squinted.
"Uh….why're you squinting?" Tsunade asked her.
"Huh? I was? Weird. You look really blurry for some reason, maybe some side effect of that snake's handiwork," she replied.
"Possibly," Tsunade said. "So it's true," she thought, "the Mangekyo Sharingan really does deteriorate sight. I'll bring this up later, Daisuke needs to know this." Aloud, she said, "Daisuke, I need you to tell me everything that happened when you were captured by Orochimaru,"
"I….can't. I don't remember," Daisuke told Tsunade who raised an eyebrow. "I remember being on the metal slab with Orochimaru and Kabuto over me but then nothing," she clarified.
"This is not good. It could be something as simple as trauma, but maybe Danzo was correct about Daisuke's mental state being altered… well I won't let him get his hands on Daisuke that easily, there are other channels to try first," thought Tsunade. She then turned to the purple haired ANBU woman. "Bring Inoichi Yamanaka here and tell him it's a sensitive matter."
"Yes milady," the ANBU woman said and she vanished in a swirl of wind.
"Who's Inoichi? Is he related to Ino?" asked Daisuke.
"Her father," Tsunade answered. A few minutes later, a man with blonde hair done in a long ponytail and with solid greenish blue eyes like Ino walked into the room.
"You summoned me lady Hokage?"
"I did. This is Daisuke Uchiha," Tsunade said and Daisuke waved slightly.
"My daughter has said a lot about you," he told her and Daisuke frowned. "She says you're an inspiration to the young kunoichi in this village." Daisuke smiled.
"Inoichi, I need you to perform a mind walk on Daisuke. She can't remember her time as Orochimaru's prisoner, and I need for you to find those memories," Tsunade said, and Daisuke looked at her shocked. "You not remembering what happened for most of your time imprisoned gives me reason to worry about you Daisuke,"
"But I'm fine. He didn't do anything to my mind," Daisuke said.
"But you don't remember anything that happened in the time you were imprisoned Daisuke. I'm sorry, but until Inoichi clears you, you can't be fully trusted. For all we know you've been turned into his sleeper agent," Tsunade reasoned with her and Daisuke sighed.
"Fine," she relented, and Inoichi nodded and walked towards her.
"This won't hurt a bit," he said sitting beside the bed. He weaved through handsigns and placed a hand on Daisuke's head. When he opened his eyes again, he was standing inside Daisuke's mindscape which was a large house surrounded by a large garden. "Interesting." He walked towards the front of the house and the door opened up. He went through and he found several doors in front of him.
They were labelled: childhood memories, happy memories, sad memories, angry memories, recent memories, and one more door Inoichi saw Daisuke trying to chain shut and keep it from bursting open at the same time. "No. stay closed!" she shouted at the door. Inoichi walked over and he helped Daisuke push the door shut and she padlocked the chains together and she sighed in relief. "Thank you,"
"Why did you do that?" he asked her.
"These are the memories of what Orochimaru did to me. But I don't want to remember them, I want them locked away," she answered.
"That's not healthy," Inoichi told her.
"I don't care. I don't want to remember them at all," Inoichi sighed, he had seen several shinobi do the same thing, but it never worked for long, sooner or later the memories flooded back and were ten times worse than if they were left alone.
"I will have to view them myself," he warned, "but if I won't let these memories into the rest of your mind if that's what you want." He held a hand in front of the padlock and it cracked open. The blond haired man walked through the door and remained in that room for a few minutes before emerging. "The good news is that I don't see any mental conditioning. The bad news is that when these memories surface, and they will regardless of what you want, it will be bad," he told her and Daisuke nodded. Inoichi nodded before he searched some more for any signs of Orochimaru meddling with Daisuke's mind, but he found nothing unusual. He then re-awoke in the real world and saw Tsunade and Daisuke looking at him.
"Well?" Tsunade asked him.
"There is no sign of Orochimaru tampering with her memories or placing anything in her mind to turn her to his side," he replied.
"I could've told you that…oh right. Don't remember," Daisuke thought to herself. "Can I go now?"
"Not yet. I still need Jiraiya to check to see if Orochimaru placed a seal on you," Tsunade answered.
"Someone say my name?" Jiraiya asked sitting on the window ledge.
"What!? You want that pervert to see me naked!?" Daisuke screamed.
"Calm down kid, you're too young. And even I have standards," Jiraiya told her, but Daisuke glared at the lecherous Sannin still making him sigh. "I swear I won't do anything perverted while examining you."
"You better not. Or you're going to wish you were never born," Daisuke told him and he rolled his eyes.
"Okay, this isn't going to be invasive," he said, and Daisuke sighed before laying on her back. Jiraiya examined her body from head to toe for any signs. "Now turn over," he said, and Daisuke did so. "Let's see," he mumbled looking up and down Daisuke's back and he did so for several minutes.
"Well….?" Tsunade asked.
"She's clear. I found no loyalty seal anywhere on her body," Jiraiya answered.
"Are you certain?" Tsunade asked him.
"I checked and double checked," he replied. "There are no seals that could affect her behaviour at all." Tsunade nodded.
"Good. This should keep Danzo off my back about Daisuke," she said.
"Danzo?" Daisuke asked.
"You know him?"
"Well….after the match with Neji he came to me and offered to train me for the finals but I said no," answered Daisuke making Tsunade's brow furrow.
"What're you planning Danzo? Do you have your eye on the Uchiha?" she thought.
"Um… Lady Hokage?" Daisuke asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"It's nothing," she answered. "Now Daisuke, since you can now perform Wood Style you are going to need to learn how to control it."
"And how do I do that? The only person to have Wood Style is the First Hokage, but he's dead," Daisuke said.
"True. But before you, Orochimaru grafted some of my grandfather's cells onto someone else," Tsunade explained. "Fetch Bear," she told the female ANBU who nodded and vanished in a cloud of smoke.
"Who's Bear?" Daisuke asked.
"You'll find out in a minute," Tsunade answered, the female ANBU returned and beside her was a male ANBU with short hair in a bear mask.
"You summoned me Lady Hokage?" he asked.
"I did." Tsunade told him. "I would like you to meet Daisuke Uchiha. She is in the same situation as you,"
"I see," the man said slowly looking at Daisuke who waved at him slightly. "I take it you want me to become a Jonin to train her?" he asked.
"Yes." Bear nodded.
"You will be known as Yamato for this assignment," Tsunade instructed. The now named Yamato took off his mask and nodded before vanishing in a swirl of leaves.
"So he has Wood Style as well? Orochimaru did say one kid survived," Daisuke said.
"Yes…that's him."
"Now can I go? I want to see Kiba and the others," Daisuke said.
"Yes you can go now." As soon as those words left her mouth Daisuke shot out of the window nearly knocking Jiraiya down. She bounded through the village towards the Uchiha district and landed. She walked into hers and Sasuke's house where she heard Sasuke training in the back. She walked out to the back and she saw Sasuke panting heavily.
"Hey, Sasuke," she said and Sasuke turned to look at her and he smiled.
"Daisuke. Glad to see you're okay," he told her.
"Thanks," she replied before Sasuke smacked her on the back of the head making her yelp. "What was that for?" she asked him.
"That was for breaking your promise. You said you'd be careful and you end up getting captured by Orochimaru," he answered angrily before he hugged Daisuke. "I couldn't bear losing you Daisuke, you're my family," he said with emotion making Daisuke smile.
"Don't worry. You won't lose me so quickly," she reassured him returning the hug.
"Good," he replied backing up slightly. "Don't tell anyone about what just happened, I have a reputation to protect," Daisuke laughed making Sasuke smile a small but noticeable smile.
"Now, I need to go check up on Naruto and Kiba," Daisuke said.
"Actually. I don't think Kiba's a good idea," Sasuke said.
"Huh?"
"Well, when you got captured Naruto, me and Kiba went to rescue you, but we found you unconscious after you used Wood Style on the six sound ninja that were sent to capture you again," Sasuke explained. "And I think Kiba's mother is pissed with him for doing something stupid like that,"
"ARGGHHHHH!" Kiba shouted as he ran past the Uchiha district and several barks were heard chasing him making Sasuke and Daisuke sweatdrop.
"I hope he doesn't get hurt too badly," Daisuke said and Sasuke shrugged before Daisuke yawned slightly.
"Come on, you've had a rough day Daisuke. Time for you to go to bed," Sasuke told her.
"Sure. Night," she said walking into the house and Sasuke resumed his training.
