Daisuke Uchiha 29
I don't own Digimon or Naruto
Daisuke groaned as her eyes fluttered open. She saw everything was blurry before blinking and rubbing her eyes. Once the blurriness had died down a little, she found herself in a hospital room and groaned. "I hate being in the hospital." She noticed that her right arm up to her elbow was wrapped in heavy bandages, her torso was also wrapped in bandages, her face also had bandages covering her burns, and finally her left arm was in a sling. "Wow, I must have taken a beating….Sasuke!" she exclaimed looking around the room. "No….did I fail?" she asked herself as the door to the room opened up and she turned and looked at it.
"Honestly brat, it seems I will need to hold a room for you," Tsunade said as she walked up to Daisuke, a smile on her face. The young girl blushed bashfully and scratched the back of her head before her face turned serious.
"Lady Tsunade…Sasuke, where is he?" she asked.
"Don't worry about him. Kakashi arrived shortly after the end of your fight and he took you both back here to be healed up. He woke up an hour ago," Tsunade answered making Daisuke smile.
"That's a relief," she said before Tsunade smacked her on the back of the head. "Ow! What was that for?"
"For damn near killing yourself! When you arrived, you were bordering on chakra depletion! Your eyes were bleeding, your left arm was broken, your upper body was covered in burns, and you had two holes in your chest from Sasuke's Chidori. Be thankful your body somehow has accelerated healing, otherwise you would be dead," she told Daisuke who held her head and glared at Tsunade.
"What about the rest of them team? How are Shikamaru, Naruto, Choji, Kiba, and Neji?" she asked the Hokage.
"Shikamaru's fine, just a few cuts and bruises, same for Naruto. But as for the others aren't as fortunate…" Tsunade trailed off.
"No…don't tell me they're…" Daisuke began, her eyes showing horror.
"No they're not dead Daisuke. Kiba faced a pair who had the ability to fuse with living beings and he had to wound himself to get them out of him. He would have died if Kankuro from the Sand Village didn't arrive and use his puppets to kill them. Neji is critically wounded. His opponent found out the weakness of the Byakugan and capitalised on it, but in the end got overconfident and was killed by Neji. Choji is also critical, suffering from malnutrition and chakra exhaustion," Tsunade explained.
"How did Choji get malnourished?" Daisuke asked.
"He used the three secret pills of his clan that converts that fat of the Akimichi into chakra and he was able to defeat his opponent. Temari of the Sand village was able to get him back to the village just in time and I was able to stabilise him but he is still being closely monitored.
"Well that's a relief," Daisuke said before her vision went blurry once again and she blinked and held her eyes.
"Is something wrong?" Tsunade asked her concerned.
"My vision. It keeps getting more and more blurry. I hadn't really noticed, but it's been happening for a while. At first it was a slight tingling sensation, but when I started using it, more and more once I stopped using it my vision became blurry momentarily. What's going on?" Daisuke asked.
"I think I know," Tsunade answered. "I believe Itachi suffers from the same ailment due to him having the Mangekyo Sharingan as well."
"What ailment?" Daisuke asked. "And are you sure it's my Mangekyo Sharingan that's the cause?"
"You are going blind," Tsunade answered simply, Daisuke was silent as she absorbed the information before she opened her mouth and shouted.
"WHAT!?"
"Calm down…."
"Don't tell me to calm down! You just told me that I am going blind, how the hell do you expect me to react!?" Daisuke shouted, cutting Tsunade off before the older woman smacked her on the back of the head hard. "Ow…"
"Are you done yet?" the Hokage asked and Daisuke pouted and nodded. "Good. Now, as I was saying using your Mangekyo Sharingan cause your eyes to steadily grow blind, the more you use it the worst it is. If you had let me finish I would have told you that I know of a technique that can reduce the blindness temporarily. It's not a permanent solution, the more times that I use it on you the less effect it will have on the blindness until it has absolutely no effect at all," she explained.
"Very well. But Daisuke, you must not use your Mangekyo Sharingan unless you have to."
Daisuke hesitated for a moment. On the one hand, it was an extraordinarily useful tool for her. Several of her most recent battles she wouldn't have won or even survived without using it. On the other hand, going blind would only mean the end of all her dreams. But that was for the future, for now Tsunade's treatment would be an acceptable substitute.
"I promise that I won't use it when I don't need to," Daisuke answered, and Tsunade nodded her head. She held her hands out and they both glowed teal green. Tsunade then placed both her hands on Daisuke's eyes and the girl winced slightly in pain as she felt a foreign chakra flow through them before a soothing feeling washed over her. Tsunade held her hands on Daisuke's eyes for an entire minute before she removed them. Daisuke blinked her eyes and she saw her vision once again clear, though upon careful observation very trace amounts of blurriness remained.
"That should do it," the Hokage said.
"Thank you Lady Hokage." Tsunade nodded. "Am I allowed to leave?" Daisuke asked and Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "I'd like to see how the rest of the team is doing," she added.
"As long as you promise to not leave the hospital, I don't see why not. However, Neji and Choji are off limits as they are still critical and can't have visitors yes," Tsunade replied.
"Alright. What about Sasuke?" Daisuke asked.
"He's a few doors down with an Anbu guard in case he or someone tries something," Tsunade answered, and Daisuke nodded as she climbed out of the bed. She walked somewhat shakily towards Kiba and Akamaru's hospital room. Walking through the door, she saw that Kiba and Akamaru were bandaged up but otherwise appeared intact. Akamaru saw the redheaded Uchiha and barked happily, making his partner look over at Daisuke.
"Daisuke, you're okay," he said relieved. "Well, as okay as anyone who looks like they lost a fight with an angry bear can." Daisuke rolled her eyes but nodded.
"Yeah I am. How are you doing?" she asked and Akamaru barked making her giggle. "And how are you doing as well Akamaru."
"We are doing pretty well, but that Sakon and Ukon really did a number on us," Kiba said.
"What do you mean?" Daisuke asked petting Akamaru.
"After they fused with me, the only way I wouldn't die is if I stabbed myself, and even though I made sure it wasn't immediately fatal there was no way of knowing if I would get medical help in time. I nearly died of blood loss according to Tsunade, and Akamaru was in the same condition I was," Kiba answered, and Daisuke gasped before she hugged Kiba tightly.
"I'm so sorry Kiba, Akamaru, I'm sorry that you got hurt. I should have told someone to stay with you or have stayed myself," she told him.
"Dai don't worry about it, we chose to stay and fight Sakon and Ukon. If we didn't we wouldn't have been able to rescue Sasuke," he replied hugging Daisuke. She did not reply. Despite knowing that a ninja risks death with every mission, she was still terrified at the thought of them dying. Perhaps sensing her feelings, Kiba tried to reassure her. "It comes with the job of being a ninja. But don't worry Dai, Akamaru and I are tough. We can handle it," he said, and Akamaru barked agreeing with his partner.
"Okay, well I hope you get better soon Kiba," Daisuke said smiling at him, and Kiba returned it. She pecked him on the cheek before running out of the room, and Kiba blushed bright red. Akamaru barked.
"Oh shut up!" Kiba shouted at his partner as he turned tomato red, and Akamaru snickered. Daisuke meanwhile knocked on another door.
"Come in," she heard, and she opened the door to find Sasuke was covered in bandages and one of his hands were handcuffed to his bed. A single ANBU guard was standing nearby staring at her warily. "Dai?"
"Hey Sasuke, how you feeling?" she asked walking towards her friend, and she saw his Curse Seal was surrounded by several thick black lines with a few lines across it. "Your curse mark…."
"Tsunade ordered that Jiraiya guy to seal it with the strongest containment seal he could make. I can't use its power at all. Not even if I wanted to," Sasuke explained.
"I'm glad you're alright. I was worried about you Sasuke. I hated that we had to fight like that," Daisuke said.
"I'm sorry too. At the time, it was like all I could feel was hatred and a desire to get stronger. Everything was second to that. I can think clearly again now though," Sasuke replied.
"Well at least it's all over," Daisuke said.
"Yeah. But I don't think it is actually over," Sasuke returned.
"What do you mean?" Daisuke asked.
"I think that Orochimaru still wants my body. He will keep trying to come after me," he answered.
"Well he's going to have to get through me before he can get to you," Daisuke said and Sasuke nodded.
"Thanks Daisuke," he replied sincerely.
"Don't worry Sasuke, I'll get stronger and soon no one will harm my friends anymore."
"Don't forget about me. I'm not letting you have all the fun," Sasuke told her, and Daisuke smirked and nodded.
"See you later. I'm going to go check up on Naruto," she said walking off waving to Sasuke with her one good arm and she headed out of the room closing the door behind her. She walked towards Naruto's room and found her other teammate in his bed, with a few cuts covered by Band-Aids.
"Well, you're healing well," she said walking up to the blonde.
"Hey Dai. Guess I am, I always heal quickly," he replied scratching his head bashfully. Daisuke rolled her eyes just as the whole hospital shook violently.
"The hell!?" Daisuke shouted as she and Naruto looked out the window to see Jiraiya was standing on a giant toad.
"Pervey Sage?" Naruto asked confused.
"Hey there kid. I got some good new and some bad news for you," the toad sage replied.
"What's the bad news?" Daisuke asked and Jiraiya's face turned serious.
"It's the Akatsuki. They're starting to mobilise, but from what my spies tell me it'll take them three or four years to fully be able to come after the tailed beasts."
"So what do we do?" Naruto asked.
"That is the good news; as of now you're officially my apprentice, gaki," Jiraiya said. "We have a lot of work to do once you get out of here, so be ready to train like you've never trained before."
"Okay!" Naruto said, saluting the Sannin who nodded. He vanished in a plume of smoke. "Training for three years," Naruto said in wonderment.
"Are you sure you want to do this Naruto?" Daisuke asked him.
"Of course I do. If the Akatsuki are going to come after me, then I will need to prepare and get stronger so I can beat them," he answered.
"Well, count me and Sasuke in. When you get back, we will fight them together," Daisuke said.
"Glad to hear it Daisuke. Don't slack off I don't want to have to save your butt all the time," Naruto said.
"Oh yeah right. I was the one always saving your backside," Daisuke replied with a grin. "Get stronger Naruto….but wait what about Fu and that other girl you told me about. Shizuka…."
"Argh! I totally forgot about them!" Naruto shouted.
"Well you're gonna need to tell them both before you leave or send a letter to Shizuka since she's left the village. Otherwise you're gonna have two pissed off women on your backside," Daisuke told him and she walked off leaving a sweating Naruto worrying his head off.
A few days later Naruto was standing just outside the village gates with Kakashi, Sasuke, Daisuke the rest of the Genin teams along with Fu.
"So I guess this is it for three years," Naruto said.
"Yeah. Take care dobe," Sasuke said.
"You know it teme."
"Make us proud Naruto," Kakashi said.
"Got it sensei. I won't disappoint."
"Don't slack off Naruto, Akamaru and I are going to train our butts off during the three years you're gone. And I'll be Hokage before you get back just watch," Kiba boasted.
"Ha. Good luck Kiba, but I am so going to become the Hokage before you dog breath," Naruto replied with a grin, and Kiba grinned back as Akamaru barked. Naruto then said his goodbyes to the others and when he got to Fu she kissed his cheek, making him blush bright red.
"Stay safe. Or I will reanimate your ass and kill you again. Are we clear?" she asked him and he nodded his head. "Good."
"Ready to go kid?" Jiraiya asked walking up to Naruto who nodded.
"You know it Pervey Sage," he said with a smile.
"Okay then, I hope you've said your goodbyes, because you're not going to see them for three years."
"I have. See you in three years everybody," Naruto said waving to his friends as he and Jiraiya walked away from the village.
