I am FINALLY updating. I am so sorry I am taking so long. Honestly, I lost a bit of enthusiasm for this story and have been reading more then writing. I apologize to those who actually read this story. I know how it is when you are anticipating someone to update and they don't. Anyways my fellow fan fiction-ers, let's continue shall we?
Chapter Eight
As Kagome's mind wisped back to reality a streak of lighting slashed across the sky penetrating the darkness that fell not so long ago. There was an eerie feeling in the air that would chill any person to the bone. With her arm and ribs no longer broken from the extreme amount of power excreting from her body she was undefeatable. She looked up only to see her rival staring at her in awe while she stared back as a predator ready to pounce on its prey.
"So Soul Crusher…. Are you ready to be sent back to Hell?" Kagome asked in a knowing and all mighty tone.
"Little girl, I was close to devouring you before. I'll just have to show you again." She pounced at Kagome going straight for her mouth trying to reach down her throat to attach itself to her soul.
While distracted thinking she won, Kagome grabbed her from behind by her neck and threw her nearly 100 yards. Catching up to this Soul Sucker before she hit the ground Kagome jabbed her arm and fierce claws through her stomach and threw her into a hilltop of jagged rocks. A sharp snap sound came when the soul crusher landed. She hobbled up in place and made a mad dash towards Kagome, she barely got a hit in and only a trickle of blood started to show itself on Kagome's arm. She laughed at her foolishness.
"You can hurt me no more demon, prepare for your end." Kagome concentrated all of her energy and formed it into a large ball filled with what looked like pink and blue electricity fighting one another. It starting growing so large that Kagome's hands wouldn't be able to hold it for much longer. She wound her arms back and gave it as much force as she had to threw it directly into the Souls Stealer dashing towards her.
"You'll see soon girl who will meet their end!" As she said this Kagome released her crackling ball of energy, it had no where to run. This huge ball was hurdling towards it and her best block was its back. She was engulfed in this ball of energy and it was burning its body making the Soul Stealer cry out in pure agony. It was like every bone and pore in its body was lit on fire and the only was to dowse it would be to return where Kagome couldn't get her anymore, the land of the dead with its master Naraku.
"Na- Nara- ku." It begged.
"Naraku is dead, and soon you will join your creator."
"Foolish c-child, I – I will return. Once I am healed, I will return."
"Is that right? Know this, I am Higurashi, Kagome. I am the Demon Priestess and with my power I will destroy anything that threatens this world and you my friend will never harm anyone again!" With the words spoken Kagome's purification power shot out from her and wrapped the demon in a pink cocoon draining any demonic aura it may have had left.
When the pink light went out there was nothing left of the Soul Stealer, just Kagome but somehow she knew, it wasn't over yet.
