AN: this chapter is going to very suspenseful, So enjoy!
"Ok guys, first things first. We need to train with our suits more, because clearly we didn't do too well last time" said Wasabi.
The team agreed and made their way to Fred's backyard to train and gain better experience in using their suits. Gogo was swinging on the railings and practiced throwing her magnetic roller discs at targets to gain aiming accuracy and better balance. Wasabi was learning to dodge and slice even faster projectiles.
Fred was practicing superhero poses from his comic books. Wasabi looked at Fred in a rather irritated way.
"Fred, what are you doing?"
"I am practicing poses to use for intimidation."
Wasabi put his index finger and thumb to his nose bridge in disappointment.
"Fred, he's a teenage genius, who invented our suits and has a reprogrammed killer robot on his side, how can he be intimidated?"
Fred stopped his poses, saddened.
"Kill joy."
Honey Lemon was on the other side of the courtyard practicing different chem-ball formulas on her purse when she heard the sound of police sirens driving past Fred's mansion. The rest of the team heard the same thing and then they heard an explosion off in the middle of San Fransokyo, followed by a sight of rising smoke.
They all instantly stopped what they were doing and looked at the rising sight of smoke in the distance. The team looked at each other and raced inside Fred's house to turn on the local news.
The moment the TV flicked on there was a message that breaking news and switched to a helicopter view of San Fransokyo.
The newscaster in the chopper seemed panic and you could see the camera angle down on The streets of San Fransokyo, which had an ocean of microbots slowly moving north through the streets, a cloud of black smoke moving around and under them, along with fire all around the streets.
The Microbots slithered under the pavement of the roads like snakes and poured upward through sewer ducts. There was fire all around and cars were stuck in the buildings with the alarms still on.
The sound of robotic slithering and flying Locust was heard all around the Area.
The team looked in shock at the sight in front of them, it only got worse when the newscaster spoke in a scared tone.
"We,ve been circling this part of the city since these unidentified objects began coming out of the sewers and buildings! They appear to be heading somewhere and have not stopped!"
The team tensed up, a big surge of worry and anxiousness arising in them.
"The objects have been ripping through the streets and destroying everything in their path, in an attempt to get to their destination! These things appeared after this message was sent to the police!"
The message played in a deep synchronized robotic voice with an echo after every word. The team became more scared with every word that was said.
'Recorded Message'
"People of San Fransokyo…..I, am Yokai, The spirit of Vengeance. I am on a mission to bring peace to myself…and to you. I have apprehended a man who has brought injustice….to all of us. That man...is Professor Robert Callaghan! If you all comply, the city will come to no harm, and I will leave in peace…..But, if you get in my way…you and the city will meet the same fate as this man. I would prefer not to do that….so please leave me to my deed, or be encased in darkness forever. You have been warned."
'End of message'
Fred and Wasabi leaned back from the TV in shock. Honey Lemon had her hand covering her mouth and continued looking at the TV in horror. Gogo looked surprised. She was also sad and scared but she didn't show it. She mentally told herself to woman up and looked back at the TV like everyone else.
The news reporter continued.
"We received this message 20 minutes ago and have been observing these objects ever since. W-Wait the objects have stopped moving."
The team looked at the TV with a questionable look on their faces as the bots stopped moving. The news reporter looked at the camera in hope as he continued.
"I-It looks as though this is all over and we will be… (Turns around and jumps back in shock as a red flying robot prepares to destroy the helicopter) NO! NO! NO!"
Baymax hits the helicopter with his fist and the Image on the TV turns to static.
"Oh no, Baymax." said honey lemon as she and everyone else went wide eyed as they stared at the screen. Fred turned off the TV and Wasabi said
"Looks like we need a new plan."
IN THE CITY 2 MINUTES EARLIER
Hiro was using the smoke as cover so no one could see him and Callaghan being carried by the microbots a quarter mile behind the front of the trail of microbots.( there are a LOT of microbots)
Callaghan tried to reason with Hiro once more, but he coughed in between words
"Please 'cough' don't 'cough' do this!"
Hiro looked at Callaghan with his eyebrows narrowed in annoyance. Hiro leaned closer to Callaghan and turned off the voice editor that made his voice deep and robotic.
"Your constant negotiation tactics annoy me, even when you know I won't change my mind. You could have prevented all of this if you saved Tadashi from that fire."
"P-Please, I didn't know he was in there!"
Hiro crushed Callaghan slightly causing him to yell in pain. Then Hiro yelled out in anger.
"Well he was! One of the last family members I had is dead! He believed I could achieve great things, He believed in me, and now he's gone!"
Hiro softened his tone.
"I'm sorry about your daughter. I really am, but that gives you know right to take it out on another person and steal his brother's invention to use for vengeance."
Callaghan looks at Hiro in fear and in caution says
"Hiro please. Im sorry, but what you're doing is no different than what I tried to do."
Hiro pulled Callaghan closer in an instant.
"Yes it is! What you were doing was for revenge! What I'm doing is justice!"
Callaghan takes a quick glimpse behind Hiro. Hiro noticed and turned around to see a news helicopter filming the microbots. It couldn't see Hiro and Callaghan because they were covered by the smoke. Hiro looked at Baymax and Baymax looked back. Hiro gestured with his head to the helicopter and said
"You Know what to do."
"Yes sir."
Baymax deployed his wings and flew to destroy to the helicopter. Hiro looked back at Callaghan and Baymax destroyed the helicopter in the background. With a determined eye expression Hiro said
"….And I will achieve justice"
Baymax landed behind Hiro and closed his wings as the helicopter crashed and burst into flames behind them.
"…At any cost."
Hiro then pointed to their destination and Callaghan looked at the pointed direction, he gasped as he saw what Hiro intended to do. Hiro revealed it in his next statement.
"I am going to destroy everything you worked to build! And then it's your turn to feel my brother's pain…..IN THE FLAMES!"
The place Hiro intended to destroy, the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology (SFIT).
