AN: Wow! That episode last night may be my new favorite. It was just...perfect. There are no words to describe how happy it made me. As always I'm sorry about being bad with answering comments, I'm really trying but every time I sit down I get interrupted by something. So please forgive me and enjoy this chapter! :)

Lightning flashes through the sky and thunder rumbles in the distance. She knows she over reacted a little tonight, okay maybe a lot. But she would never admit to it. She was mad when she had stormed out of the foundry. She had said things she didn't mean, anger and deep insecurities getting the best of her.

He didn't understand, Tockman had attacked her! And not just with a gun. He had ruined her computers, he had threatened her, he had gotten into her domain. He wasn't just another baddie, he was a tech person like her and that made it personal. She had to be the one to stop him. And then he had gone and practically forbidden her from making her own choices and pride had reared it's ugly head.

He had every right to want her to stay safe, he cared about her, she knew that and she was pregnant with his child so that definitely gave him a reason to be angry with her. She should call him, apologize. Tell him it was just her pride and unpredictable moody pregnancy hormones. She glaces at the clock, 1:54, she sighs and her stare returns to the ceiling. Maybe she should just give him time to cool down and then they can have a rational conversation in the light of day.
The heavy rain beats a staccato against the roof lulling her into a restless slumber. She jerks awake as a clap of thunder shakes the house. She thinks she hears a knock on the door but deduces that its the thunder until there's a more insistent pounding."What on earth." she mumbles as she climbs out of her warm bed and walks to the door in her panda pajamas she can still wear.

She swung the door open to reveal Oliver, soaking wet, looking like a drowned rat.

"Oliver? What the-" and then he's kissing her, her face cupped in his hands like that night in the club. He walks her backwards, turning her in the process, his warm lips still on hers, he closes the door with his foot and presses her up against it. He tilts his head and deepens the kiss. She puts her arms around his neck and pulls him closer, water droplets dripping down her neck, her clothes becoming increasingly damp from being pressed against his drenched body. She cards her fingers through the wet hair at the nape of his neck and his fingers are running through her hair and she just can't get enough of him, he pulls back a moment later and she whimpers at the loss of contact. Her eyes are still closed when she whispers. "What was that?"

"Open your eyes Felicity." She does so slowly but when she does she see's the most amazing thing. There's a light in his eyes she hasn't seen since that night four months ago. She gasped.

"You remember?" She blurts.

He nods. "I do." His smile stretched across his face.

"Everything?" She asked hesitantly.

He leans down and presses a kiss to the sensitive area behind her ear making her tremble and whispers "Everything." He pulls back. "If you don't believe me, I have some idea's on how to convince you." She flushed. Her exasperation is long gone in favor of something far more pleasurable.

"If they're the same ideas I have then it might work." He chuckled and pulled her lips back to his before he worked a line down her neck. She pushed his jacket off his shoulders and it falls in a wet heap on the floor. He pulls her back against him and kisses her so thoroughly it leaves her gasping for air and shivering and she isn't sure if it's in anticipation of something more than kisses or the way his cold body is pressed to hers.

"You're cold," he says. She wraps her arms back around his neck and does a little hop, he grabs the back of her thighs and holds her up easily.

"You'll get me warm in no time."

"Are you sure?"

"I told you once that I was only sure of one thing, that hasn't changed."

"I love you." He says it with such love in his eyes it chases away every doubt she ever had.

"I love you too," she replied softly. He smiled bigger than she had ever seen and carried her to the bedroom and set her gently on the bed. She watched as he pulled off his wet clothes, water droplets running down his chest. It was mesmerizing. He caught her staring.

"Like what you see?" She blushed to the tips of her hair.

"Hmm..you're alright I guess, if you're into that muscly kind of thing." she said teasingly. He pounced on her and the sound of her laughter rang through the room.

A little while later as they lay twisted in the sheets once more, her hand was running through his hair and he was placing feather light kisses on her belly. His stubble rubbed roughly against the smooth skin of her stomach and she closed her eyes at the sensation. She couldn't imagine being any happier than she was right in that moment.

"That was way past a baby step," she chuckled.

"Felicity?"

"Hmmm?" She hummed.

"Do you remember the first day we met?"She opened her eyes.

"How could I ever forget? It was the day my life began." He smiled at her and placed another kiss on her belly. "I was chewing on a pen..." she said as she covered her face with her hand.

"It was red." She looked down at him in wonder.

"How did you remember?" She asked surprised.

"I can't forget anything that involves you." She pulls on his arm and he crawls up to her and wraps his arms around her. "The first time I saw you, there was just something about you. I was in the darkness and for the first time in a really long time you made me smile. Really smile…and you didn't even know I was there."

"What?" She asked confused.

"You were in my Mom's office. You looked at my picture and said "Your cute" then proceeded to babble about how it was too bad I was dead and how it was worse for you than it was for me." He chuckled and tightened his arms around her. "You walked out of the room muttering about learning to stop talking to yourself….but you weren't Felicity. That night your babbling opened a place in my soul that I thought was long closed up…and I didn't even know your name. I never forgot you but the day I walked into your office, chewing on your pen, your lips painted a bright shade of pink it all came back and you made me smile…yet again."

"But how?" She stuttered.

He paused for only a second before continuing. "I wasn't always on the island."

"I figured." She put her head on his chest, ear pressed against his heart.

"You said you did your homework. When did you decide to trust me?"

"I think I trusted you the moment I met you, but officially? The day you handed me that notebook. Walter had come up missing because of the book yet you still trusted me enough that you risked your life to make sure I knew the truth. I didn't know it but I fell in love with you more in that moment."

She ran her hand down his bicep. "You're not the only one who fell in love that day." She looked up and he placed his palm on her cheek. "I was a goner as soon as you opened your mouth."

"Even with all the lies?"

"Especially with the lies, if it weren't for them we wouldn't be right here in this moment."

He shakes his head and smiles. "I love you Felicity."

"I love you Oliver...so much it scares me," she says while burrowing into his chest and tightening her arms around him. She closes her eyes basking in his warmth. She sighs and her mind starts to quiet in favor of just enjoying the moment.

"Does that mean you'll marry me then?" He whispers. She sits up quickly at that.

"You can't be serious," she says incredulously.

"This isn't exactly the way I had planned to ask you. But I know without a shadow of doubt that I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

"Oliver...you just told me you love me, what if you don't like living with me, what if you don't like the way I leave toothpaste in the sink or the way I leave my shoes laying everywhere for someone to trip to their death, or all you hear is the baby crying and you go insane an-" He leans forward and grabs her cheeks gently.

"Felicity, when I say I love you it means that I want to be with you, it means I choose to love you for every part of you, toothpaste and crying babies for the rest of my life. I love you means we choose to love and support each other even when we don't particularly like each other at the moment, it means that if we fight we always find our way back together, it's requires compromise and communication. I love you means every day I will wake up and choose you again and again. For as long as my heart is beating it will be you Felicity Smoak."

He get's out of the bed and gets down on one knee.

"This is a truly sucky proposal and I don't even have a ring, only a insane amount of love in my heart and a promise to love and take care of you for the rest of my life... So Felicity Megan Smoak, if you can handle our crazy messed up night life, my mood swings and propensity to talk about myself in third person, I promise to love you, and cherish you, to be the best father I can be, to be at every ballet recital and baseball game or school play, I promise to tell you I love you every day and to spend the rest of my life trying to give you a fraction of the love you've given me. So if all that works for you... Felicity..."He smiles and does that little head shake she loves. " Will you marry me?"
He was practically begging her by the end and she covered her mouth, tears were running unchecked down her cheeks. She couldn't get any words out. All she could think was, Yes, Yes, Yes but her mouth couldn't form the words.
So she sat there crying. Oliver's face started to morph into worry.
"Felicity, please answer me. You're starting to make me panic."

She uncovered her mouth. "I'm sorry...Yes," she gasped as she threw her arms around him. "Yes Oliver Queen I'll marry you." He smiled, a relieved sigh leaving him.

"For a second I thought you were going to say no."

She pouted. "Has Oliver Queen ever been turned down?"

"Only by you," he answered.

"Oh I get it, I was just the chase," she said teasingly.

"You're right, my whole life has been a race with a lot of breaks, but I've finally got to the finish line. I'm so glad it's you on the other side." She smiled and hugged him tightly. "Oh and by the way. I told you I loved you a long time ago."
She pulled back confusion filling her eyes. "When?"

"That night...when you were asleep... I kissed your forehead and I told you." Her lips parted in surprise before she tackled him to the floor lips finding his.

Oliver couldn't help but think if this is anything what a life with Felicity was going to be like then he was in for a ride...but oh was it going to be a good one.

But happiness never lasted long. Especially in their world.

His choices always came back to haunt him and this time he had something he could not lose.

The next day they're late for work and it's not because they overslept. What greeted them at Queen Consolidated poured a bucket of cold water on her complete happiness. Paparazzi everywhere, cameras flashing and microphones being shoved into her face as Oliver tucks her under his arms and pulls her through the crowd. Suddenly Digg is there helping push the throngs of vultures, as Detective Lance would call them, away.

She let out the breath she had been holding when they walked into the elevator and the doors closed. Oliver turned to her.

"Felicity I'm so-"

"Oliver don't, do not apologize. Of all the things we've been through I think I can handle the press. Besides if anyone says anything about us I can just crash their servers."

He smiles and shakes his head. "You're amazing." She beamed at him and took his large hand in her small one, their fingers entwining.

"How much do you want to bet Isabel is waiting in the office for us?"

"I learned a long time ago to not bet against you." She smirked at him as they walked into the office and sure enough Isabel was there. And she was livid.

"Do you even care about this company or are you only concerned with the next skirt you can chase? We're supposed to have a partnership and you pull this? Right when we're getting the company back on track! Do you have any idea what you've done."

"Isabel my private life should have no bearing on the company."

"But it does. After what your mother did we were lucky that the whole company didn't go under. You are the public face of this company Mr. Queen and you are making a mockery of your family name."
She turned to Felicity and gave her a nasty glare. "I should have fired you when I had the chance. I bet you planned this. First you sleep your way to the top then get pregnant to trap yourself a billionaire."

"Isabel that's enough!" Oliver yelled sternly. She turned to him eyes blazing.

"You said she was just a friend. I should have known it was all an act, the whole time you've been chasing her around your desk. For how long? Was it before or after Russia? Did you spend the rest of you night with her? Is that what that whole trip was about?" She turned to her. "If so you'd be very proud of your playboy here, he pulled away and left me standing in the hallway to go after you. I bet you two enjoyed your night together on the company card," she spat.

"I said that's enough! You will not speak to my fiance that way and I can promise you if I ever, ever hear of one rude word or snide comment spoken to her you'll regret it," he growled in his Arrow voice.
Isabel's spine straightened at his tone and her jaw tightened. "I'll speak to the publicity team, see if they can spin this to our benefit," She grinds out before she sweeps from the room. Oliver sighed and palms the back of his neck.

"What was she talking about? You and I weren't together... well not together together in Russia." He just stared at her for a moment. "Oliver?"

"I didn't sleep with her," he answered quietly.

"What?" Her brows drew together in confusion. "But I thought..."

"I let you think it Felicity. I was scared of my feelings for you and as awful and cliché as it sounds I was using her to try to hide from them. It didn't work. As soon as I saw your face I was ashamed. I had slipped right back into being a playboy rather than face my own emotions. But I couldn't allow myself to imagine a life with you. All I could think then was how bad I was for you, how my darkness would taint your life. I told myself everyday I couldn't have you, that you deserved better. So I thought if...if you saw what the old me was like you'd finally see me for what I really was...but you didn't. I underestimated you again." She strolled over to where he was standing by the window starring out at the city he protected. She slipped in front of him, her back to the window and took his stubble covered cheeks in her hands and stared into his blue orbs.

"Oliver Jonas Queen," she laughed softly. "You're an idiot." She leans up on her tiptoes and pecks his lips. "But you're my idiot." He laughs softly and leans down to give her a proper kiss. A throat clears behind them and they pull apart and turn to the door. It shocked her who was standing there. Moira Queen strides into the office. Oliver's body goes rigid at her side and she squeezes his arm in support.

"Mother." Moira fiddles with her fingers which seems extremely unlike her considering she is the very epitome of lady like. She steps forward hesitantly.
"May I have a moment with you? With both of you?" Oliver nods to her stiffly.

She takes a deep breath before she plows on.

"I've made a lot of mistakes in my life, I've allowed terrible things to happen, I've made threats and I've lied to the very people I claimed to love. I came here to ask you to not let me make another one. I will do anything to earn your forgiveness. I don't want to live the rest of my life without my son or knowing the woman he loves and being in my grandchild's life." She turned to her. "Felicity I am truly sorry for trying to manipulate you. I thought you were just another one of his flings but I can see that your not. I underestimated your feelings for my son, you have his best interest at heart and you were strong enough to tell him what he deserved to know. I was stupid not to see the love you share, just the way my son speaks your name tells me how much he loves you." She takes a quivering breath her hands trembling.

"So I ask for forgiveness from the both of you. I don't expect to have it now, I will spend the rest of my life doing my best to earn even the smallest amount of trust back. I only ask that you let me do that, to let me be a part of your family."

When she finishes Oliver has tears in his eyes and he's squeezing her tightly. His mouth opens but nothing comes out. Felicity let's go of Oliver and approaches her slowly and takes Moira's hand gently in her's.

"Every one deserves a second chance. Prove to us that you've earned it. Make the right choices now." A lone tear slides down her face and Moira quickly wipes it away.

"I promise," she whispers softly but firmly. Felicity nods and squeezes her hand before she starts to pull away but Moira stops her and puts something hard and cold into her hand. She opens her palm to find a ring. "It was my grandmothers. I want you to have it." Her mouth opens in shock.

"I can't...I don't."

"Please," she begs her. "I can't think of more deserving person to wear it than the woman my son loves. Do me the honor. Wear it and pass it down the Queen family line." Tears filled her eyes and all she could do was nod. Finally she was able to manage words.
"I'll take good care of it," she choked.

"Of that I have no doubt. If you care for it near as well as you've taken care of my son then it's in safe hands." Oliver stayed silent during the whole exchange.
Before she leaves Moira looks to Oliver and he gives her a soft nod causing a slight smile to stretch on the older woman's lips. She glides from the room as if a weight had lifted from her shoulders, and maybe it had.
She cleared her throat that was clogged with tears and looked down at the ring in her open palm. Moira said she deserved to wear it but she had doubts. It looked too beautiful, to extravagant for her to wear on her plain finger. Nimble fingers extract the silver circle from her palm and Oliver takes her left hand in his and slides the ring over her knuckle to settle comfortably on her ring finger. It's a perfect fit. His thumb rubs across her fingers and she looks up into his eyes. He takes a deep breath and she does the same. She couldn't believe this was happening.
"I'll get you you're own ring if you want, if this is too much..."

"Oliver...it's perfect. To be wearing a piece of your families history? It just makes me feel closer to you. But if you're not comfortable with it-"

"No I am...I just want it to be what you want. Don't feel you need to wear it-"

"I don't...I want to wear it." He pulls her into his arms and kisses her hair.

"I don't deserve any of this."

"One day Oliver...one day, maybe even years from now you'll accept it. And then...then you'll finally understand why I'm here and why I love you so much."

"How would I live without you Felicity?"

"You would find a way..."

"I never want to try," he said softly before he leaned down to capture her lips still holding her newly ring clad hand.
