"According to the SCPD, the guy that gave Helena a ride into town is a 22 year old frat boy from SCU. Which totally explains the whole 'I didn't know I was aiding and abetting a known felon thing." She spins in her chair. "Anyone with boobs can get a frat boy to do anything. Which I still don't understand...why? They're just boobs. And what I'm about to do with mine is going to be painful.-" A groan from Roy cut her off and she flushed. "Why didn't you stop me?" She hissed to Oliver.
"Because I was a frat boy and I was enjoying the babble too much." She shakes her head and turns in her chair.
"I'm sorry you guys, I'll try to keep any further talk about-" She waves her hands to her body. "This stuff to myself." Oliver wrap his arms around her shoulders.
"Not me too right?"
"Do you seriously want to know what's going to happen to my body soon?"
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
"Because it's gross and you still have to..." She trailed off and lowered her voice. "Have sex with me after." His eyebrows rose.
"I don't think that's going to me a problem," he said as he nibbled on her ear.
"C'mon you guys!" Groaned Roy from behind them.
"That's not what you'd be saying if you watched the video Digg and I did."
"Is that what you were doing that day?"
"Not intentionally, but yes. I'm still scarred. I literally felt like I needed to scrub my eyes with soap and I'm a woman!" She shook her head. "Poor Digg."
"Felicity, I want to know everything there is to know so-"
"You can be prepared... I know. Like a mission."
"No not like a mission, I just want to know everything so-"
"You won't faint in the delivery room."
"Stop interrupting and I'm not going to faint," he said firmly.
Diggle walked by and patted him on the shoulder. "You say that now man."
"I've seen far worse than a baby be born."
"Mmmmhmm...," he mumbled before wandering back over to Roy. She could swear that she could hear them making bets. Oliver turned back to her.
"I am not going to pass out," he assured her. "I'm going to stay right beside you the whole time."
"Above the belt... and if you're late to your sons birth I will personally contract Sara to kill you." She turned to look at Sara. "Right?"
"I'd do it for free," she responded with a smirk.
"It's good to have assassins for friends," she sighed. Oliver just starred at her.
"Sometimes you scare me." He said before he leaned down to pull her mouth into a deep kiss. "I love it." He gave her a heated look and she patted his arm and whispered 'later' and returned her gaze to the computers.
"I'm going to keep tabs on the police, if they get any leads on Helena, I'll know."
"I'll do some canvasing," said Digg before striding from the room.
Sara came up to the desk and pointed in Roy's direction where he sat in a chair staring off into space. Oliver got the message and went over to talk to him.
Not long after she got a news alert. "Oh no."
"What?" Oliver asked instantly on alert.
"Laurel, she's Bertinelli's Lawyer, this is not good."
Helena had killed anyone in her path on the way to her father. Laurel was in danger. Again. "I'm going to try and talk some sense into her," said Sara as she rose and left the room.
Turns out Sara couldn't talk sense into her sister...well this was Laurel they were talking about.
"I'm going to talk to Courthouse," Oliver announced before he grabbed his jacket and started to leave the room. He stopped short and turned to look at her.
"What?"
"I don't like you being here alone. Helena knows where this place is."
"I'll be fine," she assured him. He opened his mouth to object but she cut him off. "How about I call Roy? I can get him to pick us up some burgers and we can hang out. Will that work?" He sighed and nodded reluctantly. "It'll be good for him. He around too much grrr all the time. Sometimes all someone needs is a woman's touch... that came out so wrong, I just meant like a woman being nice or-"
"Felicity."
"Sorry," He kissed her softly and then he was gone leaving her to worry.
She looked at Sara. "I would invite you to our little get together but I'm almost one hundred percent sure that you're going to follow Oliver."
"You'd be right," she said before leaving the room presumably to suit up.
She picked up her phone to call Roy.
"What is it Blondie?"
"Harper, I'm hungry, get me a burger and get your hooded butt to the foundry."
"Why should I do that?"
"Because I'm asking nicely and I'm married to the man who controls your training. Two words. Water. Bowl."
"I'll be there in thirty."
She smirked as she hung up to phone. It was almost too easy.
A half an hour later Roy still hadn't showed up with their food and her stomach started to growl. "Where is that boy and our food?" She rubbed her belly absently. A few moments later she heard the door click open. "About time," she said turning in her chair but it wasn't Roy she saw. It was Helena, rather the Huntress. "Not again," she moaned. Roy would be here any minute. She just had to stall until he arrived.
"Oliver's not here."
"Oh I wasn't looking for him." Her hands started to shake so she balled them into fist.
"What do you want?"
"Leverage, Ms. Smoak. Oh..." She tilted her head and smirked. "Mrs. Queen I mean. Congrats on that by the way."
She walked leisurely across the room and tapped her cross bow on the glass case holding Oliver's suit. "Nice place you've got. A lots changed since I was last here. She glanced at the practice targets. "Right here is where Oliver taught me to shoot." She sent her a smile. "He was a really good teacher." Felicity seethed. This woman was grating on her nerves. "And there's where we-"
"I don't need to know about my husbands past sexual exploits." she seethed putting emphasis on the 'past'.
"I wasn't an exploit. He was so lonely. So was I. We just fit...or so I thought." She shrugged. "It doesn't matter. Once you love someone like I loved Michael, well you just don't turn those emotions off."
Felicity glanced out of the corner of her eye looking for any kind of weapon to defend herself. She wasn't usually given to violence, maybe it was the pregnancy hormones or maybe a little residual anger that every woman that came into their life Oliver had slept with at some point. Man just how many woman had he been with? Oh no, she bet he had a number. She shook her head. It didn't matter. She was going to be the last if she hand any say in the matter.
"Anyways, back to bushiness. I'm going to give you two options. One is really easy and I'm sure with how smart you are it won't take you very long, option two is a little more difficult and I'm sure with carrying Oliver's baby he'd do anything to get you back...alive."
"Don't you dare touch me." She spat rising from her chair. Helena raised her hands.
"You have my word that I wont. Just tell me where my Father is."
"I won't do that. You're just going to kill him. I won't live with his blood on my hands. That would make me just as bad as you. And I am nothing like you!"
"Hmm," Helena mumbled as she started to touch Oliver's hood in it's case. She started edging toward the weapon she spied. "I guess it's going to be option two then."
She ran the rest of the way towards the case and grabbed Oliver old bow and a arrow. She knocked it quicker than she thought possible but she guessed that's what she got for watching Oliver do it for so long. Helena started toward her.
"You're not the only one he taught how to shoot." She was bluffing of course, but Helena didn't know that.
"Oh...I see how it is. I thought you said you were nothing like me."
She pulled back on the bow. "I'm not a killer Helena but I'm not above injuring someone to protect my family. Put the bow down."
Helena laughed a musical laugh. "You don't have the guts to shoot me," she said through barred teeth. "Your just a pathetic IT girl who lucked out."
"That's where your wrong Helena, there was no luck about it. It's called love. Do you really think Michael would want you doing this in his name?"
"Do not speak him name!" She screamed. "You don't get to talk about him like you think you know what he wants. He's dead, he doesn't know anything. You know why? Because my Father had him killed. And I will return the favor," she finished darkly.
Just then Roy came trotting down the steps. "Sorry it took me so long, I stopped to get that fancy ketchup you like from-"
Roy stopped as he entered the room taking in the situation. Helena pointing her crossbow at her and her pointing a bow at her. She bet it was a site to behold, especially since this was her, he held a bag of Big Belly and it dropped to the floor as he started to shake in anger. Darn it. She really wanted that food too.
"Who's this? A boy toy? Naughty naughty."
"Leave now!" She yelled.
She laughed again. "No way, this is too good to pass up." She turned the crossbow to Roy's head. "Tell me where my father it or the boy gets it."
"I am not a boy," Roy said face turning red in rage.
"He's right. I wouldn't do that if I were you. It wont hurt him." A confused look momentarily crossed Helena's face and Roy grabbed a tooth from one of the desk and bent it in half. Oh she hoped that wasn't something important of Oliver's.
"I don't think you heard me earlier when I said Oliver taught me to shoot. Whatever he is, it's nothing a arrow to the head won't take care of."
"Now do I have to keep repeating myself or will you give me what I want? I'm losing patience."
"No." Helena smirks. "Okay then," she says as her finger presses on the trigger of her cross bow and Felicity doesn't remember when she decided to let go but suddenly a arrow is flying through the air and it isn't Helena's. The arrow amazingly finds it target in her shoulder and she gasps in pain, a look of shock filling her eyes.
Roy rushes forward and starts wailing on her making her fall fully to the ground trying to cover herself with her hands.
"Roy! Stop!" She yells as she runs toward him, her hand out. "Stop!" Roy turns quickly back to her rage contorting his features. "It's okay. I'm okay. She's had enough." Roy lets out a breath and un-clenches his fist but soon strides across the room and find a set of handcuffs. "What are you doing?"
"Delivering her to Lance."
"What? Don't you think Oliver would want to talk to her first?"
"Too bad. This bi- murderer is going to jail. I don't much care if Oliver want's to talk to her." He pulls her hands behind her and slaps the cuffs on her wrist as she lies unconscious.
He leaves and she picks the bag of food up. She's kind of shaken but hey it would be terrible to let good food go to waste. She sets it on the desk and dials Oliver's number. He answers immediately. "Is everything alright?"
"Define alright...is it a crossbow pointed at your head or eating a big belly burger with fancy ketchup from Ross's?"
"WHAT!" He yelled and she had to pull the phone away from her ear.
"It's okay, I'm fine."
"I'm on my way."
"Seriously I'm good. Roy's taking her to Lance. Maybe you want to intercept them. He was pretty angry so maybe you should check on him."
"No I'm coming there."
"Oliver you're being irrational. There's no reason-"
"My wife was attacked, there's plenty of reason," he said before the line went sighed.
"I hate it when he does that. I mean why can't he just say bye?" She patted her belly. "You're Daddy is a little crazy...but he loves us."
Not long after another door slams and Oliver comes running in screaming her name. "Felicity!"
"I'm here."
He runs into the room and see the blood pooled on the floor and rushes over to her grabbing he shoulders and examining her whole body before she can stop him.
"Oliver, I said I'm okay, I'm not hurt, not even a scratch."
"She didn't touch you?"
"Not even a hair on my head."
"Then where did the blood come from?"
"Umm..."
"Felicity..."
"Umm well...I may have, well I did, kinda...shoot her." His eyes went wide.
"You what."
"You heard me. I shot her. Not like a kill shot or anything but I guess if my aim was bad enough or if it was just bad luck it could've been, not the point. I shot her in the shoulder. She'll live."
"I can't believe you actually shot her." Oliver said disbelievingly, his jaw slack.
"Believe it, I saw it with my own eyes, shocked the heck out of me," Roy said as he strolled back into the room and straight for the bag of burgers. She mentally shook her head. Men and and their food.
"She was pointing a arrow at Roy, I know he's all miracuru'ed up but I couldn't take the chance."
"So...you what? Decided to pull a robin hood? Do I have to worry about you suiting up now?"
"No! I was pulling a...Arrow" She said smugly. "Though I will admit it was quite the adrenaline rush." Oliver gave her a dark look. "Man, just kidding, lighten up. I did what I had to do. I ran a bluff and the odds were in my favor."
"This time. I don't ever want you to do that again. You could have hurt yourself."
"Oliver, it's a bow. It's nearly impossible to shoot yourself with a bow. Although I'm sure if I looked it's happened somewhere."
"Felicity!"
"Alright! Maybe you should teach me to shoot...ya know just in case." She said while shrugging her shoulders. He grabbed the bow and put it back in his old trunk. He turned and came back over to her and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm sorry."
"Hey, it's not your fault. Everything is okay, I actually took care of myself." He pulled back holding her face in his hands.
"I'm so proud of you. I am, but this is the last time you're ever going to have to do that."
"I know...but if you taught me how to shoot..." She trailed off. He laughed lightly.
"I'll think about it." She looked into his eyes for a moment before leaning towards him and whispering in his ear.
"We can make new memories with that bow." Oliver's face lit up and he pulled her into a kiss. Loud footsteps came running into the room and she hears Diggle call out for her but she didn't pull back from the amazing kiss Oliver was giving her.
"She's fine," she heard Roy assure Diggle. "I mean their swapping spit so she must be." They parted a moment later, both breathless.
"What happened?" Diggle asked him.
"She called me to pick up burgers, I took a little longer because I stopped to get the ketchup from Ross's." Diggle's eyebrows rose. "What? She likes it and she threatened-
" He cut off and whispered "The bowl again. So I got the woman her favorite ketchup, sue me. Anyways when I got here they were both already pointing bows at each other."
Oliver squeezed her tighter against his side.
"Helena threatened to hurt me and right before she pulled the trigger Felicity shot her. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen." He turned to address her. "I didn't know you had it in you blondie."
"Me either."
"I have a new nickname for you."
"Oh no." She moaned.
"Mama Tiger. Man I wish you guys would have seen her face when she let that arrow fly. It was like someone had messed with one of her cubs. It was awesome."
"I don't think my wife shooting someone should be on the rector scale of awesome Roy. It never should've happened."
"Yet it did and it's over."
"Not yet," Sara said as she entered the room. "Helena escaped from the precinct. Shot two guards on her way out too."
Oliver grabbed his hood and turned to give both Diggle and Roy a look. They nodded in understanding. She had two babysitters for the night now.
(((Arrow)))
He hadn't be able to stop Helena before she had found her Father and killed her him. Now she sat in front of him, clad in orange and handcuffed to a table with two guards outside the door.
"You were right," she said quietly, gaze on the table. "I don't feel any different." She looked up at him tears in her eyes. "I killed him...but it didn't change what happened to Michael. There's still a hole in my chest that can never be filled." A tear slipped down her cheek.
"I can see it in your eyes. You've started a decent into darkness, take it from someone who's there, it's not worth it."
"It is when you is no other away."
"Is that logic speaking or anger?"
He just stared at her for a moment. Before he got up from the table.
"Oliver."
He stopped, his back facing her, hand on the door knob.
"I'm sorry." He nodded once before he left the room.
Helena was wrong.
Whatever he had to do to protect his family was worth it.
