Chapter 6
Danny flew backwards as he dodged one of Skulker's many missiles. As soon as he dodged the missile he rushed the Ghost Zone's greatest hunter and let his fist soar at him. Skulker caught his fist though and swung him around and threw him into a nearby building. Danny crashed through the building's wall which turned out to be a warehouse… Full of explosives…Great.
Danny grunted in pain but shook it off as he got up. Skulker flew in and headed straight towards the Halfa with guns loaded and ready to fire. Danny quickly glanced around taking the scenario he was in before he acted; he once again flew toward the hunter ghost while he threw ectoblasts at him. Skulker fired back blocking the ectoblasts and creating mini explosives as they hit but Danny ignored them as he headed toward the hunter ghost, giving him a round house kick as soon as he was close enough. The kick met its target: hitting Skulker straight in the jaw.
He reeled back in pain but swiftly recovered and gave the ghost hero a punch in the stomach along with a missile.
Danny crashed into a group of boxes that exploded on impact along with the missile Skulker had sent. He was dazed and unfocused making him unable to doge as Skulker came in front of him and stab him in the chest ending his life…
You Lost
Win Goes To Player 2
Danny threw his controller down and placed his head in his hands as he leaned back and groaned.
"How do you keep beating me?!" He asked his clone.
Dani just gave him a cheesy smile.
"I may have or may not have played this game in several different counties while I was traveling, I still can't believe how you got your own videogame so fast, plus there's also the fact that I'm." She stood on the couch and posed. "The Queen of Videogames! Whahaha!"
"Still! Even though I haven't played this game as much as you, I've been playing videogames my whole life! So How Do You Keep Beating Me?!" He asked once again.
Dani just shrugged as she sat back down.
Exorcist sighed.
If you had just listen to me you would have beaten her but noooo, you had to take her on yourself. The fire demon complained.
You distracted me with your lame advice, Ex. Danny grumbled to the demon in his head.
Dani saw the look on Danny's face and giggled.
"Let me guess. A little voice in your head annoying you again?" She teased.
Danny nodded his head as he sighed.
"Yeah, It's annoying having someone talking in your head for 24/7," he explained and rubbed his temples.
Dani just smiled and tossed him his controller
"Well want to go for another round? Maybe you'll actually listen to that little voice in your head this time," she teased.
Danny glared at her but gave her a playful smile and stood up.
"As much as I would love to go another round its almost eight meaning I have to go on patrol," he explained; he transformed, the familiar white lines going up and down his body turning him into his hero half. He then started to slowly fly out of the room.
Dani's eyes light up.
"You're going on patrol? Then I'm coming!"
She quickly transformed into her ghostly half and flew to Danny's side, forgetting to turn off the game console and TV (she still dislikes Vlad so why not run up his electricity bill)? Once Dani had caught up Danny glanced over and looked at the clone with concern.
"Dani, maybe you shouldn't go out on patrol just yet. You still haven't fully recovered from the transfusion after all," he said voicing out the concern he held for her.
She just rolled her eyes.
"I'm fine Danny, a little ectoplasm and blood fusion isn't going stop me. Besides you already made me sat out of all of last month's patrols, I'm pretty sure I'm okay," she said stubbornly.
Danny sighed and muttered under his breath saying something along the lines of your so stubborn.
They were just pasting Vlad's study when said billionaire called them.
"Daniel, Danielle, could you please come here?" The elder Halfa called.
Both ghost heroes looked at each other with slight worry but mostly curiosity at the wonder of what Vlad would want to talk to them about.
"Vlad we were just going go on patrol," Danny said as the two entered the study.
Vlad was seated by his desk as he looked at the two after he placed the papers he was reading down.
"I know but something strange has come up and I thought you would want to have a look."
He turned in his chair facing the bookshelf and pressed a button under his desk. The bookshelf on the right moved and revealed a large computer with monitors and scanners.
Dani titled her head as she looked at the computer with curiosity.
"Ohhh, what's with the computers and spy stuff?" Dani asked. She approached the computers looking at all the buttons she could press (hey, she's a kid. Every kid wants to press buttons).
"This," Vlad started to say as he walked over to the computer and started to type things in. "Is my scanner. I use this to track down ghosts and ghost portals that appear."
Danny lifted an eyebrow.
"Wait; there are other patrols to the Ghost Zone?" He asked.
"Yes, but they appear at random so it is almost impossible to keep track to them."
I bet he used to see if he could somehow use these portals for his advantage when you guys used be enemies. Ex voiced his thoughts.
Exorcist didn't dislike Vlad but he couldn't stop himself from voicing his doubts to Danny even if they were small. Luckily Danny chose to ignore Ex's comment.
He walked up to the computer just as Vlad had pulled up a map on the screen.
"Vlad, why would you need to see where portals are?" Danny asked; Danny already had the idea that Vlad would have used the portals for fighting him but since they were allies now Danny wasn't sure what they could be used for.
"It was in order to study and learn the patterns of the patrols that come and go. I thought I could somehow use them for my advantage," he explained.
"And use that advantage to take out Danny," Dani said accusingly with crossed arms and a glare at the elder Halfa.
Vlad sighed but gave a smirk.
"Well yes, I was going to use it against Daniel but as you know things have changed," Vlad explained. "Anyway I have been receiving warnings of ghosts appearing in Gotham."
As he said that the map on the screen zoomed in on Gotham City showing several red dots all over the city.
Danny put his hand on his chin as he went deep in thought.
"Why would ghosts be in Gotham city?" Danny asked.
Vlad's eyes narrowed.
"I do not know but something is amiss."
Dani's eyes started to glitter with excitement along with a broad smile.
"Does this mean what I think it means?" She asked enthusiastically
Danny smiled. "Yes but you aren't coming."
Dani's face was frozen for few minutes as she registered his words then it twisted into a pouting face.
"Why not?" She whined.
"Because I don't think the Dark Knight would appreciate two uninvited ghosts coming in on his turf and not know what they're doing there."
"But won't you need back up if ghosts are there?"
"I'll be fine besides it'll be easier getting all the ghosts and stay hidden if I go alone," stated Danny.
Vlad scoffed. "Yes, like you have done so well in the past in staying hidden."
Danny rolled his eyes and started to float.
"So while I'm gone, Dani, I need you to go and patrol the town; think you can do that?" Danny asked the clone.
Dani smiled and saluted the ghost boy.
"You can count on me Danny!" She exclaimed and zipped off towards the town.
Danny looked towards Vlad.
"Well I'll get going. I should be home around eleven or so. Don't wait up."
"Daniel, wait," Vlad said.
He was almost out the door when he turned around to face Vlad curiously.
"What is it?"
"When you get home we need to talk about you and Danielle's schooling. She has to start school sometime and you need to return to your own school."
Danny smiled nervously as he slowly floated out the door.
"Orrrrr we don't go to school at all and spend the rest of our lives happily fighting crimes and playing videogames," Danny suggestively said.
Vlad's left eye twitched.
"Daniel… You are going to school."
Danny was already out the door.
"Well see!"

Get back here you stupid ghost! Ex yelled.
The ghost Danny was chasing did a 180 degree turn of its head and gave Danny a raspberry.
A tick mark appeared on the hero's head.
"Look here you annoying Octopuss! You're the last of all the ghosts here, so why dontcha be a good octo ghost and get in the thermos!" He yelled with annoyance.
Suddenly the ghost stopped in front of a billboard sign causing Danny to almost crash into the ghost. Danny smirked and crossed his arms at the ghost.
Danny please tell me you're not going get cocky now and get defeated by a weak ghost. Ex asked with worry.
Danny rolled his eyes.
Don't worry Ex, I'm just being amused at the fact that this ghost seems to think it can take me out. Danny told the fire demon in his head.
Not everyone is what they appear to be. Ex warned.
The Octopuss spat sticky ectoplasm towards Danny which he easily dodged. The ghost kept spitting but Danny dodged each one as he slowly increased his speed towards the ghost, ready to give it a smack in the head. Right as Danny's fist was going land on the ghost it moved out of the way and Danny face-planted into the billboard.
Even though Danny couldn't see it Ex faced pamled.
Really? You fell for that?
Danny pushed himself off the board and grumbled. "Stuff it Ex."
The ghost overhead was uh… redying? From laughter at the Halfa's misfortune. The Octopuss stopped laughing though once it was hit by an ectoblast and sucked into the thermos.
Danny smiled.
"Ha! That'll teach you to mess with me!" He gloated.
Woooow, gloating Ghosty? Really? Ex said sarcastically.
"What? You weren't the one that got tricked."
Well at least I have the decncy not to gloat in the face of a fallen enemy.
Danny sighed and started to fly away from the dark city.
"Complain as much as you want that was the last of them and that means I can go home to my nice warm bed," Danny said with a smile.
Annnnnd get a talk with Vlady about when you're going back to school. Ex reminded the hero.
Danny frowned and sighed. "Great I forgot about that; almost makes me wish-," he was cut off as his ghost senses went off.
He smiled and gave a small victory punch in the air.
Well it seems like you won't have to talk to Vlady just yet. Ex committed.
Danny looked around as he flew above the city trying to locate where the last ghost was. He continued to fly but he started to get irritated as he couldn't find the last ghost. He started to check each ally way he passed and went invisible while he was on lower ground so no unwanted attention would come to him (haha! He thinks he won't get unwanted attention if he stays invisible. Ha! That's cute).
Final after what felt like a life time of searching his ghost senses went off alerting him that the ghost was nearby and the obvious scream of anger also helped.
"Leave me alone you stupid thing!"
Sounds like a maiden in trouble. Ex pointed out. Shall we be her dashing knight and save her?
Danny laughed.
"One of us is dashing Ex, and it isn't you," he teased.
Hey!
Danny tuned him out as he flew overhead invisible and looked over towards an apartment roof where he heard the scream. On the roof he saw a white skeleton ghost jumping around a girl who was wearing a green half sleeveless top with a light green arrow in the middle. She wore a green mask along with a quiver full of arrows across her back. She had long golden hair pulled up into a high ponytail that swayed as she dodged the ghost's attacks and would retaliate with her bow and arrows. Basically she reminded Danny of a younger gender bent version of Green Arrow.
Danny flew invisibly towards the fight between ghost and hero. The skeleton ghost was too preoccupied with teasing the girl to dodge the ectoblast as it hit him square in the head.
The heroine looked at the ghost in surprise as it was blasted away from her.
"Hope you didn't mind the assist," the ghost boy said and appeared next to her resulting with her jolting in surprise.
The girl's eyes widen as she took in the ghost hero's appearance.
"You're… Danny Phantom!" She exclaimed and then added, "what's with the new look?"
Danny's smile broaden.
"What don't like it? You could still tell I was the Danny Phantom."
She gave him a funny look but it quickly changed to confusion and suspicion.
"What are you doing in Gotham?" She questioned.
"Rounding up rouge ghosts, the one you're fighting is the last one… Which is getting away." True to what he had said the ghost was already a few hundred feet away from the two heroes.
Danny sighed. And I thought my job was almost done.
Awww, but I thought you were happy that you could avoid Vlad a little longer Ghosty~. Ex teased.
Danny mentally glared at Ex.
"I better go catch that ghost before it causes anymore trouble," he stated and flew off.
"Hey! Don't you dare leave me behind!" The girl yelled and chased after the ghost boy.
Danny was gaining quickly to the skeleton ghost but stopped once the ghost went invisible as they got closer to a large school. The Halfa stopped and floated in place as he searched for the ghost.
"Now where did it go?" Danny asked out loud.
"Maybe it went into the school?" The Green Arrow girl look alike said as she appeared on the roof closest to Danny.
Danny jumped up in surprise.
"Gah! You scared me!" Danny exclaimed.
The girl raised an eyebrow.
"I scared you? Aren't you the one who's a ghost though?" She asked.
"Just because I'm a ghost it doesn't automatically mean I don't get startled," Danny said defensively.
"Yeah, whatever," she said; she looked over to the school.
"So we heading in or what?"
"Well I'm going but you can go back to your doppleganer-genderbent Green Arrow evening," he stated.
A tick mark appeared on her head along with a glare aimed at Danny.
"The name is Artemis," she stated out of clenched teeth.
Danny waved her off. "Well nice to meet you Artemis; I would love to stay and chat but I have a ghost to catch." With that said he took off towards the academy.
Leaving a girl alone at night Ghosty? Ex made a 'tsk' noise. I'm disappointed in you; not being a gentlemen and making sure that girl's safe.
Danny rolled his eyes. She'll be fine she's probably Green Arrow's new sidekick or some kind of hero.
Then if she's Green Arrow's sidekick why is she in Gotham?" Ex questioned.
Danny was silent in thought as he entered the school ending up in one of its upper level hallways.
Well if she isn't his sidekick maybe she's just a huge fan. Danny explained.
A crazed fan you mean.
Danny floated through the hallways and classrooms wondering why his ghost's sense weren't going off telling him where the ghost was. Unfortunately his sense did go off just as the ghost kick him in the head. He phased through the floor so he wouldn't crash onto the ground and phased backup just as the ghost blew a raspberry at him and took off around the corner.
A tick mark appeared once again on Danny's head.
"I'm getting really tired of that skeleton!" He complained.
Hey, at least he isn't saying beware in almost every sentence. Ex calmly pointed out.
"Doesn't make him any less annoying," the Halfa grumbled.
The ghost flew up higher into the building phasing through the floors with Danny right on its tail. The ghost swiftly turned and phased through the wall; Danny followed finding himself up in the rafters of the school's gym with a loud battle going down on the gym's court.
Danny's eyes widen.
"Is that Kid Flash and Robin fighting a robot with um, uh…Who's he?" Danny asked; he pointed at a black haired boy with blue eyes who wore a black t-shirt with Superman's symbol on the front.
Hmmm. I got it! He's mini Superman!
Danny tilted his head.
More like teenage Superman in need of anger management. He joked.
Well it looks like-Watch Out Danny! Ex yelled.
Danny jolted and spun out of the way as a katana was just about to slice him.
"What took you so long?!" The girl from before, "Artemis" asked as she swung her bow at the skeleton ghost trying to hit it.
He dodged another swipe from the katana as he replied.
"Well sorry; I didn't know. Wait. What are you doing here!?" He demanded.
"Well I was trying to help the guys down there but your two ghost buddies here took my quiver away before I could help them!" She explained; she flipped back dodging the skeleton ghost.
The Halfa's eyes narrowed as he stared at the ghost that was attacking him.
The ghost with katana was only floating red and green samurai armor; the base of the armor was red while the green made the swirling design and lining of the armor. The armor looked ancient and was cracked with one of the horns on the helmet broken off. The armor seemed to stay connected by a black aura around each piece.
"And I'm guessing you're his buddy." It was more of a statement then a question.
The armor ghost said nothing and just charged at the ghost hero; the katana ready to make Danny's head fly. Danny spun around dodging out of the way and retaliated with a roundhouse kick which was blocked with the ghost's forearm. The armor ghost attacked with a kick this time but Danny flew upwards and dived back down with an ecto-infused fist; he successfully landed a hit on ghost's helmet but the ghost wasn't even fazed. It used the end of its blade to punch Danny in the stomach sending him flying back, almost hitting Artemis just as she was going get her quiver back from the skeleton ghost.
"Watch it!" She yelled.
"Sorry!" Danny apologized. His eyes widen as he saw the armor ghost charge Artemis too distracted by the skeleton ghost to notice. "Watch out!"
Artemis ducked as Danny kicked the ghost before it could slice the heroine.
She sent him a grateful look and stood back to back with him.
"Thanks," she said; she glanced down to see how the heroes she was following were faring in their battle. Let's just say they were doing really badly.
She looked back at Phantom while she blocked another attack.
"The guys down there are having some trouble, if I could just get my quiver back…"
She didn't even need to finish as Danny knew what she was getting at.
He moved out of the way of the kick the ghost had sent him and attacked the ghost with his own powered up kick. He flew over Artemis and went straight for the skeleton ghost.
"Hold of rust bucket while I get your arrows back."
Artemis nodded and headed off to stall the armor ghost. Danny tackled skeleton ghost startling it and punched the ghost into the ceiling (surprisingly the roof didn't get a single dint). He easily was able to steal back the quiver when he had tackled the ghost. He flew back to the blond archer who was having some… technical difficulties with the armor ghost.
The ghost just wasn't giving the heroine the time to attack or rest. While the ghost seemed to have endless stamina she did not; sweat fell off her as she flipped and twisted in order to dodge the deadly weapon while trying to stay balance on the rafter.
"Duck!" He warned; she more or less heeded the warning.
She went low but instead of ducking she low kicked the armor ghost's legs causing it to falter some which was a good distraction as it was not able to notice a blazing ectoblast just as it hit its head.
Danny tossed the quiver back to the heroine.
"Thank you very much~," she thanked him. She pulled out an arrow and got ready to fire.
Then both ghosts tackled Danny and Artemis on each side causing the heroes to lose their focus and easily stole the quiver once again. This also caused Artemis to drop the arrow; she lunged for the arrow but fell off as she grasped it but Danny caught her leg and put up a shield in order to hold off the ghosts as they continued their assaults.
"Fire the arrow!" He commanded.
"Don't need to tell me twice," she stated and shot the arrow.
It flew toward the robot that was chocking the hero clad in yellow and red, Kid Flash. The robot turned its head to where the arrow was coming and turned intangible as the arrow went through him. The robot had to let go of Kid Flash though, but the hero didn't complain as he zipped off just as the teenage Superman thrusted his fist into the robot's head. Once the robot became tangible sparks blew along with steam causing the robot's head to blow up. The heroes down below battle was over but not for the heroes up in the rafters.
As soon as Danny had pulled the heroine up they had swiftly gotten into battle positions… Except the ghosts weren't there.
"Where they go?" Artemis asked.
He didn't reply; he just looked over the gym trying to find the ghosts. He spotted the ghosts phasing through the gym's wall along with the man he spotted earlier that was controlling the robot the others were fighting.
"There!" He exclaimed; he phased through the wall going after the ghosts, once again, leaving the heroine behind.
Artemis blinked then groaned.
"Great, left behind again."
Danny phased into the hallway where he saw the ghosts go with the man. He looked to the left to see ghosts escaping with the man along with some weird creepy looking robot monkeys.
"Stop right there!" Danny yelled after them.
The ghosts and the man turned around to see Danny charging after them.
The man frowned.
"Great, another brat to be dealt with," he grumbled.
He looked at the two ghosts.
"Nokoru, do your job and stall this pest," he ordered; the robot monkeys then started to lift the man up. "The M.O.N.Q.I.'s shall get me to safety."
With that said the man started to leave.
"Hey! Get back here!" Danny increased his speed in order to catch up with the man but the ghosts blocked his path and fired a combined ectoblasts at him.
The blats got a direct hit and Danny skimmed the ground; he groaned but shook off the pain and stood up with ectoblasts a blazing in his hands.
The ghosts looked at each other; the armor ghost nodding its helmet towards the skeleton ghost who was frowning at some unspoken conversation. The skeleton ghost sighed while his companion's helmet lifted upward seeming to be smug for some reason. Danny was surprised when the ghosts talked for the first time since his encounter with them.
"Can't win," the skeleton said in a raspy voice.
"But can," the armor ghost started; his voice sounding much stronger yet void of emotion.
A bright green light appeared between the two ghosts and Danny had to shield his eyes so he wouldn't be blinded. When the light died down, Danny removed his arm to see a whole new ghost.
The ghost in front of him was a combination of the two from before. The white skeleton now had a human body except the skin was black along with white tattoos making him look like a skeleton along with marking from the skeleton's you would see in Mexico on Day of the Dead. The samurai armor was wrapped around the ghost's chest but the middle of ghost to the ghost's waist was transparent the only thing that wasn't however were the real rib bones that stuck out and wrapped half-way around him. The armor now looked like it was brand new, with the helmet having its other horn; a red sash was wrapped around his waist holding the katana's scabbard which was also red with a green outline. The ghost's white pants were tucked into his black knee high boots.
The ghost had long white hair placed into a low pony-tail and a few bangs that went down the middle of his face. His opened his eyes to reveal burning red eyes gleaming with power; he smirked.
"Like this," he continued from what the last ghost said.
He charged Danny with the katana which was longer and looked much more deadly as white mist came off it. Our hero blocked the blade with a shield.
"Okay. Who are you?!" Danny demanded; he was totally confused on how two ghosts became one and why they were following a human. Last time he checked most ghosts only worked with humans when they got something in return or were under a human's control.
The new ghost still smirked and continued to assault the hero's shield.
"Nokoru," the ghost answered.
Danny felt the tick mark reappear.
"I know your name! I'm asking what are you guys and why are you working for a human?" Danny questioned; he dropped his shield not really waiting for an answer and started to attack the ghost.
The combined ghosts or "Nokoru" smirk turned into a mischievous smile; he got right into the Halfa's face.
"Not telling," Nokoru replied his voicing sounding like it was filled with glee.
Danny head-butted Nokoru and quickly flew backwards and placed his hands together and sent a combined ectoblast at the ghost yet Nokoru deflected it with his blade sending the blast into some lockers that were now destroyed.
He pulled a smoke pellet out and gave Danny a closed eyed smile.
"Bye~." The ghost threw down the pellet creating a black smoke once it broke on impact.
Danny spun around looking for the ghost but once the smoke cleared the strange ghost was gone. He clenched his hands in frustration.
"Crap he got away."
What was with that ghost? Ex asked.
Danny shook his head. "I don't know but I'm going find out."

"Leaving already Phantom?"
Danny turned around to see Artemis jump over to where he stood on one of Gotham City's many buildings. He blinked in surprise once he saw the blond archer come up to him.
"Yeah, I was just going head out since I caught all the ghosts."
She gave him a curious look.
"Did you catch those other two?"
He sighed and shook his head no.
She gave him another look. "Well what happened?"
'Those two ghosts we were fighting combined into this weird samurai-ghost-skeleton-thingy when that weird professor told them to stall me," he explained.
"Wait just a sec. What did this guy look like?"
Danny looked up as he tried to remember.
"Weeelllll, he wore a green sleeveless sweater and a red bowtie with a white shirt and black pants and I think his hair was auburn."
Artemis's eyes widen.
"That sounds like Ivo!" She exclaimed.
Danny went in thought as he took in the info.
"This Ivo guy… I'm guessing he's the one who built that robot the hero's sidekicks were fighting." He stopped as he continued to think. "But why would a ghost be helping him?"
Artemis shrugged. "Don't know."
"Well whatever the reason, it's my problem now as long as that ghost is involved," Danny stated and started to ascend.
"You're leaving?" She asked.
"Yup, time to head back to Amity, I already caught all the ghosts that I was supposed to catch."
Artemis nodded.
"Well it was nice working with you, Phantom," she said with a smile.
He returned with a smile of his own.
"Yeah… We made a good team," he said and continued to ascend. "Maybe we'll work together again someday."
She smiled a little more.
"I'll look forward to that."
Danny waved goodbye and flew off towards Amity.
The flight back home was mostly quite but due to a certain snickering demon it quickly broke.
Ex what are you laughing at? Danny asked the fire demon in his head.
I just realized that you could have saved a whole lot of time if you had just thrown an ectoball or ectoblast at the robot instead of wasting that time trying to get those arrows back. Ex explained. Plus you could have just sucked that ghost into your thermos when it was right in your face.
Danny growled. And you didn't give me this advice when I was fighting because?
Ex smiled so broadly that Danny could see it in his head.
Because it was giving me entertainment~. Ex sang.
Danny frowned and grumbled under his breath saying something along the lines of "jerk face demon."
Ex sighed dreamily. Plus it was great being so close to that pretty little Alice.
One of Danny's eyebrows quirked upward. "Alice?"
That archer girl, Artemis. Ex explained.
"Oh, why did you call her Alice?" Danny asked.
Meh, she just reminds me of Alice from Wonderland. Ex explained; he mumbled under his breath though, she acts a lot like Alice anyway.
"What was that?"
Nothing~. The fire demon sang. Do you think we'll work with her again?
"…As long as that ghost is involved then yeah, I think we'll work with her again someday."
Little did Danny know that he would soon once again fight alongside the archer along with a few other heroes.
… First off, I'm soooooo sorry I have not updated in so long and being lazy and all that jazz. I got easily distracted with fanfiction and, and, blurg. Can't think of good excuses. Anyway school will be out for three weeks (Yes! Sleeping in till 1pm!) so I'll do my best to write and update. I'll first type out this one's next chapter since I'm going be stuck in a DP and YJ mood for a long time. Then I'll work on my Black Butler (It would be easier if my Ipad was fixed ) then I'll work on at least one chapter of the Warriors and LoZ fanfic, that one is hard to focus on for some reason.
