Nami tapped her foot as the man behind the counter slowly slid the tray filled with teas and coffees across the bench.
"So that's one white tea, one black tea, two small weak coffees and two small hot chocolates." the man repeated as he ticked off the list on his small note pad.
With a thankful smile, Nami nodded before slowly lifting the wobbling tray. Before she could take a step, two arms protruded from her waist and held the tray still from underneath. Nami huffed a breath of relief and continued on towards where Robin was waiting at the entrance to the buffet.
"Thanks Robin, I guess you could picture me falling over as well?"
Robin gave out a small laugh and replied mirthfully, "It would have been a spectacular sight, but I'm sure our friends would appreciate a warm beverage as soon as possible."
The navigator's smile faltered at her friend's words. It had been a very eventful morning. Sanji had woken up a few hours ago, loudly entering Usopp's room to see if their friend had woken up.
Usopp was yet to wake up though, and the crew watched over him with hopeful eyes. It was while Chopper was checking over Usopp that Nami decided that everyone could use a warm drink. Sanji had offered to collect the drinks but Chopper had demanded he stay in bed at least until he was back to his normal skin colour.
With a gentle knock, Robin announced their presence as she opened the door for Nami. Inside the room, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Chopper were gathered around Usopp's bed, watching carefully for any signs of him awakening. Chopper seemed calm though. Even as Robin began to hand out the drinks, the reindeer seemed to be the only one who smiled when receiving his hot chocolate.
"He is progressing very well," The reindeer repeated as Nami and Robin took a seat on the bed next to the one Usopp was currently occupying, "All we need to do is wait."
No matter how many times Chopper had repeated that their friend was OK, they still could not be convinced. Their doctor had done all he could, and now it was up to their long-nosed friend to have enough willpower to wake up.
Nami noticed the shaken sigh that escaped Sanji as he sat up and made his way to the door.
"I'm just going to go warm up with a quick shower, someone come and get me when he wakes up."
The crew watched on in silence as their chef slowly hobbled out the room and into the hallway.
"He thinks it's his fault..." Nami quietly stated to the room. Each occupant slowly nodded their heads in agreement.
Zoro simply chuffed and crossed his arms, leaning back in the broken plastic chair.
"Of course that idiot would blame himself."
Robin turned towards the swordsman and gave him a cunning smile.
"You seem to know him very well lately Swordsman-san."
Those simple words had Zoro leaning forward with a jolt and a loud "No!" escaping his mouth. The chair decided to protest as well under the weight of the swordsman. With a loud crack, the old white plastic chair split, letting the shocked man sitting on it tumble to the ground.
The dull atmosphere that surrounded the room shattered as the crew laughed together at their friend's misfortune. With a grumble, Zoro sent a mean look at Luffy who was rolling on the floor clutching at his stomach.
"I'll be back." The swordsman mumbled as he pulled open the door and stormed out.
A familiar nasally voice interrupted the echoing laughter, "Do you guys have to be so loud?"
Chopper squealed and ran to Usopp, holding onto his face and looking into his weary eyes. "You're awake!"
The rest of the crew smiled and ran to Usopp's bed, piling on top of him, all wanting to hug him at the same time.
"You guys are going to kill me!" Usopp wheezed out.
Sanji was half way through washing the shampoo out of his hair when he heard the door slam closed. With his eyes squeezed shut, he recalled the events that had occurred this morning. Waking up naked with Zoro clinging to him for dear life was not what Sanji had expected, but after kicking Zoro and calling him a pervert for 5 minutes, Sanji's mind caught up with the previous day. Before Zoro could get a word in, Sanji was already dressed and making his way to Usopp's room to check on him.
He had spent most of the day laying in the bed next to Usopp's unconscious body, waiting for him to wake up. He wanted to apologise. If he hadn't chased Usopp for so long then they wouldn't have found themselves in that icy lake. All he could do now was hope that Usopp would wake up.
With his body now warm and no longer prone to a burst of uncontrollable shivers, Sanji exited the bathroom followed by rolling clouds of steam. His red skin felt hot and blistered from turning the heat up too much, but he felt content with his body temperature. With his previous clothes clutched in his arms, Sanji stepped out of the bathroom and packed them away, keeping an eye on the marimo lying on their bed
Sanji sighed and rolled onto the bed, mimicking Zoro's actions.
"Hey" Sanji heard from beside him.
"Hey marimo"
"It's not your fault you know."
Sanji groaned and rubbed his knuckles against his eyes. "I know that. Doesn't mean I shouldn't apologise."
"Usopp needs to take care of himself." Zoro replied, "You can't be held responsible for him not watching his step."
Sanji seemed to stop and listen for a moment, before taking his hands away from his eyes and rolling to his side, nuzzling his head into his pillow.
"When that idiot wakes up I'll tell him I'm sorry...then I'll whoop his ass for making me worry."
Zoro gave a huff of a laugh and rolled over to face Sanji.
"I think Robin knows about us by the way." Zoro blurted out, watching for Sanji's reaction.
"Us?" Was the sleepy reply.
Zoro hummed in response and shuffled closer to the other man, sliding his hand up Sanji's arm.
"So Robin knows about - us? What is 'us'?" Sanji continued.
The swordsman frowned at the lazy response and moved his face closer, kissing as close to Sanji's lips as he could, for the man's mouth was slightly hidden in the pillow beneath him.
"I think 'us' is this thing that's going on between us. It might also be the strange feeling of me not wanting to suffocate you with a pillow right now."
Sanji finally opened his eyes to see Zoro leaning on his elbow, hovering above his face.
"I suppose I could easily kick you away from my face right now if I wanted to..."
Sanji gulped as Zoro let out a chuckle. Never in his life had Sanji ever thought Zoro would do something that he considered to be cute or attractive, until this moment. Eventually Sanji swallowed his pride and lifted his head from the pillow to reach up to Zoro's face, giving him a proper kiss.
Immediately Zoro stopped laughing and swooped in, cupping Sanji's face and urging Sanji to lay his head back down on the pillow. Sanji smirked into the kiss and hung his arm around Zoro's neck, being sure to keep the other man in place.
"I think I'm getting better at this..." Zoro moaned out as he drifted down to gently nibble at Sanji's neck.
Sanji smiled as he stared up at the ceiling, letting Zoro continue his work "Same here."
He wasn't sure if he had said the wrong thing or if Zoro had suddenly decided to finish this, but the other man had stopped kissing at his neck. Sanji quirked an eyebrow at the strange look Zoro was giving him.
"When was your first kiss?"
Sanji sighed and turned his head to the side, looking away from the man above him. "The other day..." He mumbled with a pout.
"Heh, so I'm your first kiss? Cute."
Sanji growled and kicked Zoro's butt from behind. "Oh yeah? What about you, asshole?"
The swordsman dropped his elbows and let is full body weight lay atop Sanji, forcing a 'gweh!' to spurt out of the cook's mouth.
"The other day." Zoro mimicked.
Sanji hummed in approval and shut his eyes again, concentrating on the deep huffs of breath on his neck. He thought back to Zoro's earlier statement about the 'us' thing that was happening between them. He also recalled Zoro mentioning something about Robin knowing.
Sanji's eyes peeled open in surprise, heaving in a startled breath.
Robin knows!
Zoro grunted as he was pushed from Sanji's body.
The chef sat up and pulled his legs over the side of the bed, resting his head in his hands.
"So Robin thinks - no, knows something is happening between us?" Sanji questioned as he exaggerated his sentence with wide arm movements.
"I guess so." Zoro shrugged as he sat up next to Sanji, looking around the room and waiting for the chef's breathing to return to normal.
"This is just- what will she think of me now?!"
Zoro rested a hand on Sanji's shoulder, grinning at the pitiful look Sanji was giving him.
"She still thinks you're a loser."
"Why you-!" Sanji roared in anger, lifing his leg to kick Zoro back to skypeia.
A knock at the door stopped Sanji's foot from connecting with Zoro's face. Robin opened the door slowly, as if giving any occupants of the room time to prepare for her enterance. Sanji shook in embarrassment, knowing full well why she was being so careful.
"I apologise for the interruption, but I thought you would both like to know that our long nosed friend has awoken."
Sanji stared in horror as Robin stood in front of him. He knew that there was no way she would never find out, she was a very intelligent woman after all. Perhaps he would just need to convince her that nothing was going on between him and Zoro - but then he would be lying to her. He would also be lying to himself if he said that nothing was going on between him and the swordsman.
The chef didn't know how to explain to his lovely Robin that he was just as much a ladies man as ever, but somewhere he had changed. He wasn't all lovey-dovey for Zoro - blegh - but for some reason him and Zoro were being civil with each other. Ok, that was another lie. They were being much more than civil.
With a pout, Sanji lowered his head in shame and thanked Robin for advising them of Usopp's awakening. Robin nodded and made her way out of the room. Sanji spared a look at Zoro - it was a look that promised they would talk later, then he stalked off behind Robin, leaving the swordsman behind to keep up.
Hey guys, I know it's been a while since my last update and I'm really sorry :\
Work has just been really stressful atm and I spend 8 hours a day staring at a computer so the last thing want to do is go home and write. I've been slowly working on this bit by bit, but reading your encouraging messages for me to keep going are what pushed me to continue. So thanks guys for waiting and being patient with me :) I will definitely try to continue this story as much as I can. Until next time~
