Also, the lack of motivation in me is getting to me and with more problems arising, this story keeps ending up in a hiatus! Sheesh, I probably need someone to threaten me now and then... Who's willing to do that for me...?

(Unknown)
A grim chuckle echoed throughout the empty room filled with nothg but bookshelves and an office desk. "So?" The mastermind started, talking to their partner. "How do you think the party will go?"
"To be honest with you a murder might run in the mist. It's a typical cliche," the other mastermind said in a carefree manner, shrugging. Monokuma titled his head as he exchanged curious expressions towards the two partners in crime, then gave off a cruel giggle as he obnoxiously stated, "Isn't it time you two start spicing things up a bit? I'm getting kinda bored here, ya know?" Monokuma continued laughing to his amusement. "Isn't there someone you can torture at least?"
"Hmph. School rules." The first mastermind reminded, rolling their eyes in utter bitterness. "Unless you change the school rules, we can't do anything but act in your charade, Monokuma."
"Is that so?" Monokuma snickered while holding his paws up to cover his mouth. "Upupu! I was hoping you'd at least say something about them."
The second mastermind snorted, retorting in their utmost dubious behavior as they crossed their arms sharply. "You want us to?"
Monokuma nodded his head in agreement. "Please do enlighten me!"
"I'll make it brief." The first mastermind gave the longest sigh Monokuma has heard all week. "First off, I loathe how cheerful some of the students here can be. Especially Aika-san." The mastermind gave a strange look at the twitching bear. "... Aren't you butting heads with each other?" The mastermind started, awkwardly blinking. The second mastermind however looked nothing more than interested in Monokuma's sudden change in behavior.
"Of course I'm butting heads with that bitch!" Monokuma cried, his claws almost extracting from his paws. He puffed his cheeks out as his eyes squinted in rage. He even crossed his arms as he muttered, "Ugh! I can't stand how optimsitic and passionate she is."
The two masterminds gave strange glances at the masochistic bear, but nonetheless continued to their demise. "Anyways," the second mastermind started, ignoring Monokuma's obvious pissed expression. "I'm suprised Mr. Kiyomizu is able to handle her."
"I'm suprised as well," the first mastermind agreed calmly, nodding their head. "Kiyomizu-san is surely those innocent types of people. I can't help but despise him."
The second mastermind nodded without a care in a world. "Is that so?" In fact, the mastermind acted as though he couldn't care less about the first's words.
"Actually, I'm sure one of the students here is hiding something very odd," Monokuma said with a wide grin. The two masterminds stared at the bear in interest before continuing dialoging to Monokuma's expections.
(Floor 2 - Amusement Park)
Aika led Ayano into an empty room that was near the back of the arcade and pizza halls, normally like those rooms where people can sign up to have a party in. Well, a private party. Ayano sighed to catch his breath as he rolled the table near the end of the room to leave more space for many other decorations and items of choosing. "I'm so tired!" the poor boy gasped, watching Aika roam about in the room fixing up decorations and writing some notes in a piece of paper she found.
"Acting so wimpy," Aika muttered, smiling jokingly. "You really need to act a little more manlier sometimes."
Ayano chuckled nervously, scratching his head. "S-sorry..."
Eyeing the embarrassed look in Ayano's eyes, Aika couldn't help but smile in amusement. Urging the boy to help her set up the preparations, there was a sudden student at the entrance waving at them in a kindly manner. Aika turned her head back, seeing Stellar and Kazuho observe the place with great interest. "Hey!" Aika greeted, running towards them with a bounce in her walk. "Thought you're with the others."
Kazuho shook his head. "We all parted ways a few moments ago."
"Besides," Stellar interrupted, smiling awkwardly. "I really want to see how you'd plan this party."
Aika grinned, giving her classmates a thumbs-up. "With smiles and determination!" she cried in a prideful manner. Stellar and Kazuho exchanged glances, nodding slowly. Aika, noticing this, couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, you guys should help Ayano and I decorate the place. I would love you for eternity if you do."
Stellar smiled softly. "If it does make you happy, then I'm willing." She turned to Kazuho who frowned. "How about you?"
"Whatever." Kazuho walked over to Ayano who was scratching his head awkwardly, who tripped onto the ground that was riddled with red and white ribbons. He calmly grabbed onto the end of the ribbons, beginning to tie it onto the walls. Aika smiled at his courtesy, gesturing Stellar to her own work. At that point Monokuma came about, popping out of nowhere in front of Kazuho who jumped slightly, dropping the stapler in his hands. "Woah! What the hell?!"
"Upupupu!" Monokuma mockingly laughed, putting a paw over his mouth. He then glanced at Aika who stared back at him, her eyes squinting in irritation. At that point Monokuma scoffed, crossing his tiny arms. "Huh! If it isn't the little bitch herself!"
Aika grinned, walking over to Monokuma, staring him down. "Well, if it isn't the evil bear himself! You don't seem at all scary at first glance!"
Ayano nervously laughed, wondering about the many possible scenarios that could happen because of Monokuma and Aika's complex hatred towards each other. "A-Aika..."
Monokuma maniacally grinned, pointing his middle claw at Aika (to which Stellar gasped profoundly). "Oh? Well, I try my best to become as evil and malicious as they can be!"
She rolled her eyes playfully before going back to staring down the bear. "Which I'm sure will not work out for you in the end," Aika snapped back with a sassy tone of voice, exaggerating a bit on the last part.
"Aren't you funny? It makes me wonder why Ayano here is chasing you all over the place!" He then gasped suddenly, his eyes widened. "Oops! I'm sorry! I meant to say that you drag him down with you. You're so passionate and crazy that it makes even a cute bear like me sick to my core."
Aika bit her lips, her heart beginning to ache from that one insult. Monokuma knew how she was feeling right now, and that gave him great pleasure. "Stop trying to darken the atmosphere," Aika argued, her eyes raging in fury. "I'm planning a party here alongside my friends without you."
"That's too cruel! Upupupu!" Monokuma mocked in a horrendously melancholic voice, crying crocodile tears. "But, no. I won't cry. Act like a bitch all you want, surely a murder will be committed soon after I finish writing all of my incentives!"
Ayano froze. "Incentives...?"
"Of course!" Monokuma screamed in glee, almost bloating. "Of course! Upupupu! We can't have a murder without a cause! It's called cause-and-effect kids!"
Stellar shook her head. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She did not want to hear any more of this. "We're not your tools!" She cried, her mind fluttering into many thoughts about hatred towards the bear.
"Of course you're not." Monokuma smirked, chuckling as he finished his sentence with, "You are my precious, berry students!" Laughing as he exited the way he came from, Aika snatched the air, trying to at least smack some sense into the black-and-white bear. She snarled, the maniacal laughter echoing inside the room. Kazuho couldn't help but bit his lips, his eyebrows burrowing into a frown.
"That good-for-nothing bear."
Ayano bit his lip. "But, still, is he really going to make up these incentives of his?" The silence in the room only worried the poor boy further. His hands trembled with his lips quivering, quietly mumbling to himself. "I don't want to see someone die again..."
"Don't worry!" Aika cried as loud as she could, placing her hands on Ayano's shoulders. "Even if that darn bear decides to convince us with these lunatic tactics of his, we won't go down so easily. We have each other, remember?"
Aika had to admit that her words were nothing more than a desperate attempt to not only ease Ayano's worries, but her own as well. She needed to comfort herself since she knew her words were nothing more than lies. The girl was sure that most of them were still wary and suspicious of one another, and it wouldn't be far fetched to say that one would be willing enough to kill someone if the incentive was to persuasive.
Seeing a sweet smile on Ayano's face was all the reason needed for Aika to stay as cheerful as can be. She hated Monokuma with his personality and morals (if he had one) contrasting her's greatly. She wished for a bright future for Ayano, her classmates, herself, and even the entire world.
Besides, a court school's purpose is to train those who would bring down justice upon others, right?
(Floor 2 - Store)
Makoto knew this meant trouble. Staring at Tiki who was watching Constantine argue heatedly against Takane, the two of them both knew how things would end up. Most of the store was already ripped apart by the duo's bare hands, the walls scratched to death with items flying all over the arena. "Er... Isn't this a bit too animesque?"
"Uhuh." Tiki nodded her head slowly, awed by the sight of the duo. "I believe so."
"YOU'RE THE IDIOT HERE!"
"AHAHA YEAH RIGHT!"
Makoto and Tiki sighed together, exchanging more glances. The quartet were to gather materials for Aika's party (after she persuaded them to at least), but the old married couple were at their old gimmicks again once they argued over which balloons to use. They hadn't realized the proposal that they could've used both, combining the two colors of red and blue.
"Let's just get the balloons, Tiki-chan," Makoto inquired, sighing.
Tiki smiled gently, walking over to the balloons alongside the detective. She quietly grabbed the bunch of floating balloons and made her way to the door, nodding her head in acknowledgment at the detective. "Agreed."
Makoto closed the door behind him as he winked at Tiki. "Aika-chan sure has a wild imagination, doesn't she? Planning a party when we're stuck in a crisis like this. It's pretty stupid, isn't it?"
Tiki can only nod to the detective's response. She couldn't come up with anything to say due to her lack of sociability, and in the end the conversation stopped suddenly. Tiki glanced at Makoto, her heart beginning to skip a beat. In a split second she felt as though she saw a depressing look on the detective's face, but in a blink of an eye that face of melancholy disappeared. It was...her imagination? She averted her gaze to the ground, deep in thought before turning back to find- "H-huh?!" Tiki looked up to find the detective dozing off into space, a big bubble forming out from his nose. A single groan escaped the girl's mouth, her mind pondering on the thought if this guy really was a detective or not. I-is Makoto sleeping?!
I... I guess I can leave him be? Er, should I bring him to the infirmary? I mean, isn't this a huge problem? Sleeping in the middle of the hallway without any reason as to why... That's a big problem! Right? Right?!
Despite her conflicting thoughts screaming inside of her head, Tiki managed to literally drag Makoto into the infirmary.
It took a couple of moments before Makoto groaned, slowly waking up to find himself staring at Tiki. He yawned, stretching his arms out as he sat up from the rather comfortable bed he laid on. The room smelled as clichéd as a doctor's room can ever smell like, and it practically choked the poor detective. "Mm, did I fell asleep?" The girl nodded her head in caution, almost ready to back away from the detective. Makoto chuckled softly, scratching his head as he blushed a pink hue. "Eheheh... Sorry 'bout that. I tend to do that sometimes. It's a habit of mine."
Isn't that a big problem? You need help, don't you?
"Is that so? Well, I'm sorry for worrying over you," Tiki sincerely replied, tilting her head in an innocent manner.
I'm pretty sure you can't call that a habit, Makoto. I'm worried for your health...
"Why do I feel like your pitying me?" Makoto mumbled to himself, staring at the girl with a hint of bitterness in his eyes. He couldn't read anything on the girl's mind, well, who could with her lack of social skills? As a detective, shouldn't he bother her a little to see how suspicious or not she really is? He's a lazy fellow, so he couldn't help but envy the seemingly normal girl for her charm as an normal girl. He glanced at Tiki enviously before snapping his fingers, a light-bulb flickering on top of his head. "Oh I forget! Um, did you bring the balloons to Aika-chan?"
Tiki forced herself to chuckle a little, her eyes gradually darting to the balloons that lie near the left corner of the room away from the desks full of medicine. "No. Sorry."
Makoto smiled lightheartedly, standing up on his two feet from the bed. "Nah, it's fine. Let's go bring them over to Aika-chan right now before she screams at us."
Tiki nodded her head, happily handing over a few of the balloons to the detective. "Alright."
(Floor 2 - Dojo)
Juugo smirked a little to himself as he landed another perfect shot on the target, the fake handgun in his hand aimed perfectly at the bull's point. Rina and Toby stood in awe as they watched the strategist land another shot at another target. "And that makes twenty." Juugo couldn't help but brag as he threw the handgun to Toby who was barely able to catch it, sighing in relief.
"Sheesh, you don't have to brag," Toby stated, sighing a little in disappointment.
"If I can do better than everyone here, then it wouldn't hurt to try, right?" Juugo eyed Toby a little curiously, the disappointment in his eyes serving more than one purpose. He bit his lips, crossing his arms as he sat down on the wooden bench next to the duo. The strategist even pondered on the thought as to why the two would accompany him only to whine all day about his profound skill and talent in comparison to theirs. He sighed inwardly before calling out, "Toby, I have something to ask."
Toby glanced at the strategist, albeit curious to Juugo's sudden words. He almost even stuttered as he began to speak. "Sure... What is it?"
Juugo frowned. "You seem really conflicted right now that it even worries me a little. Did something happen?"
"Hm?" Toby couldn't help but stare at Juugo in shock, his eyes widening. He crept up a small smile, shaking his head as he answered the strategist's question. "Nah, it's nothing to worry about. It's just that something happened in the cinema when I was with CJ."
Juugo blinked. "Er... So, what you mean is-"
"They kissed."
"W-what?!" Juugo's shock came out so suddenly that he almost choked on his own saliva. Rina's words were abrupt and rather blunt... Too blunt. The strategist himself couldn't help but act so flustered over such an answer, his eyes staring directly at Toby who heaved a heavy sigh, lowering his head in embarrassment. At this moment he knew the whole ordeal didn't end up so smoothly. He bit his lips, almost regretting ever asking the poor boy. "I... I didn't know."
So you can feel bad, Rina thought with a smile as she glanced at the strategist.
Toby forced a bitter laugh, waving his hands about. "No, no, it's okay! CJ's just surprised, that's all. Nothing bad happened. I promise."
...
The entire scene was all too clear to forget.
Toby and CJ were about at the end of the fourth movie, finding nothing but worthless abrupt ends and unsatisfying conclusions to the other three movies. Toby even wondered if taking the girl out to such a horrible cinema was such a great idea in the first place, but he figured it was fine as long as the two of them were alone. He was surprised when CJ decided to accompany him in the first place, but he was glad that his plan was running along smoothly.
"Hand me the popcorn."
Toby smiled earnestly at CJ as he handed her the bag of popcorn. CJ herself wasn't enjoying the movies as much as she wanted to, but she at least found some amusement in criticizing the clichéd endings. The food was nothing more than generic, but at least it was worthwhile. "It's almost the end of the movie, y'know."
CJ nodded without turning back to glance at the boy. "Mhm."
She seems so focused on the food at hand rather than the movie... Toby inwardly chuckled at the statement, eyeing CJ. The writer decided to wait for a bit, finding a bit of amusement in watching CJ eat rather greedily into the popcorn bag. Her eyes were so focused on the food at hands that CJ never noticed Toby leaning closer and closer to her.
"The movie's about to end," CJ mumbled, obviously not taking heed of the situation at hand.
"Is that so? Then it's perfect timing."
CJ frowned. "What do you mean-"
At that point, time stopped in an instant... At least, for the two students at hand.
The bag of popcorn fell down to the cool ground, the buttery food spilling everywhere on the set. CJ was frozen in shock, her eyes widening as she felt the warmth coming from the writer who held her close to him, his rough lips pressing against her beautiful, cherry lips. Her heart pounded as loud as it could, overwhelming her mind and soul as she can only wonder- "what's happening?". She darted her eyes to Toby who seemed overwhelmed himself, almost begging for this to happen. He released the kiss in an anticlimactic matter afterwards, breathing deeply here and there as he eyed CJ for a reaction.
CJ's face was a deep red hue, panting deeply as she can only heaved out, "What... the hell...?"
Toby crept up a small smirk, crossing his arms. "Do you like it?"
"Um..." CJ bit her lips. How can she answer something as absurd as that? "W-why are you asking me, idiot?"
"Because I want to know."
...
CJ sighed heavily as she recalled the events in the cinema. Shizu and Tomoe were watching her worriedly as they stood down in the first floor, resting in the café for a few drinks and a small, yet meaningful chat. Shizu herself had no idea that CJ would've agreed to her invitation and it worried her even further when she and Tomoe noticed her constant heavy sighs and bitter (well, more than usual) behavior. Tomoe at the most tried to cheer the poor girl up, but nothing had worked so far to the duo's expectations.
"I seriously have no idea why you're so depressed today," Tomoe started, sipping into his hot chocolate. "Can you tell us what's wrong?"
CJ groaned. "Tomoe, please shut your mouth. Please."
Tomoe stood still, holding his breath as he nodded his head slowly. She is definitely one scary woman!
"CJ, are you alright?" Shizu asked, trying to gain at least an answer out of her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Not as happy like Aika or Ayano, but I'm swell."
Shizu smiled sweetly. She wondered how the party planning was going so far. But for now she has to at least try to cheer up CJ... If not, then maybe the party Aika and the others are planning will do.
It's too bad the problem centers around something romantic.
(Floor 2 - Amusement Park)
Ayano smiled as he noticed Makoto and Tiki making their way into the room now full with tables, food, confetti, etc. Makoto happily waved at the group as Tiki handed Kazuho the balloons, bowing her head down politely. Aika winked at the duo, gesturing her thanks as she quickly grabbed the balloons from the archer and continued to decorate the room. The archer sighed annoyingly as Stellar simply smiled at him, urging him to help the matchmaker. Kazuho hesitated before nodding, walking over to help the girl.
Tiki glanced around the room before Stellar decided to chat with her. "Tiki, how's your day?" She started, a sweet, gentle smile on her face.
(Free Time - Tiki/Stellar)
Tiki: "Oh, it's been...well, interesting so far. How's the party going?"
Stellar: "It's been great! Aika said that she's nearly finished with the preparations!"
Tiki: "Woah, that only took a few hours."
Stellar: "Seriously?! ... Woah! It's nighttime already?!"
Tiki: "Er... Yeah...?"
Stellar: "Aw man! But I didn't get to eat something yet!"
Tiki: "Um... Well, I can treat you to..."
- Cocoa Fruits
- Chocolate
- Smoked Salmon
Stellar: "H-how did you know I love cocoa fruits?!"
Tiki: "Um... It was a guess."
Stellar: "Really? You're good at guessing then!"
Tiki: "Haha, thanks."
(Afterwards, I treated Stellar to some cocoa fruits at the cafeteria.)
(I guess we bonded a little!)
(Floor 1 - Cafe)
Malcolm sighed, his stomach grumbling a little with his mouth parching for something to drink. He walked silently into the cafe, trying to find something to eat and drink before Monokuma loudly announces the end of the day. As he walked in he found Paul sitting near the corner, drinking into his hot chocolate as he read a short novel of his choice. There was a slice of velvet cake sitting next to him. Malcolm's stomach began to grumble as he hungrily head over to the bandit's side.
(Free Time - Malcolm/Paul)
Malcolm: "I was beginning to wonder if you were going to eat that."
Paul: "Huh? Oh, it's you. I guess you can eat it... You seem really hungry."
Malcolm: "Thanks! I really am."
Paul: "..."
Malcolm: "... Um, so what're you doing here?"
Paul: "Oh? I'm reading a book I found in the library."
Malcolm: "Is that all? Couldn't you do something more athletic? I've hardly seen you doing anything active today."
Paul: "Then why don't you provide me with some choices?"
Malcolm: "I guess I will. How about..."
- Hula Dancing
- Basketball
- Rock Climbing
Paul: "I do like that idea, but we can only go rock climbing if we're outside this school."
Malcolm: "Oh? Is that so? Er... Sorry for wasting your time."
Paul: "Don't sweat it."
(We sat down silently as I gave in to eating all of Paul's food.)
(This is called bonding... I suppose.)
"Upupupu! Bastards, it's time to sleep! I hope you all have fun tomorrow at the party! Like, seriously! Who needs a party when you guys know that death and murder comes your way? Bah! Upupupupu! Good night, suckers!"
With a rather harsh and short farewell to the students in the school, Monokuma left it for today. The students exchanged their good nights and best wishes to one another before heading to their rooms, praying for a good day tomorrow. They really had hoped for a bright day full of fun. No arguments, no drama, no murders, no deaths, nothing tragic and sad. All they wanted was to lead an normal and happy life with a bright future ahead of them. That was all they wanted.
Yet... Monokuma seemed to have a lot of things in store for these selfish students.
(Dream)
"Too nice to refuse to help, that's your weakness."
The serial killer smiled as he was dragged into the police car, staring at the detective who stood still, frowning. Maybe those words were meant to insult the young detective, and it might've meant nothing to him, but it did. Makoto shook his head as the police's words of gratitude didn't reached the boy's ears, only the killer's. Instead, the detective headed off down into the dark night.
"Makoto, I've finally found you."
Turning back from where he came from stood a cloaked man who had a deep, husky voice. Makoto couldn't grasp ahold of who the man was nor how did he look like, only his structure and voice giving the detective the slight clues to who he was.
"Who are you?" The detective questioned, suspiciously glaring at the man.
"No one special. All I wanted was to talk to you."
"I don't believe you."
The man sighed, crossing his arms. He didn't seemed annoyed at all. Rather, he acted as though he were amused by the detective's actions. "You never learn. Next thing you know you will end up falling into the killer's schemes! Not that you would be a culprit, but rather someone who would have to live as a liar!"
Makoto bit his lips, his heart suddenly beginning to pound. Heat was rising into his head, his lips curving into a frown. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You should know what's happening behind the scenes and yet you're still oblivious to it!" The man chuckled insanely, holding his chest as if he were in pain. "You're being used without your knowing! Well, you won't be blamed for it of course. I just know that the mastermind behind everything loves you at the very best!"
"... The mastermind?" Makoto shook his head, beginning to breath faster. Was he talking about Monokuma? "What's special about me anyways? What would this mastermind want from me anyways?"
"Your intellect and your kind personality."
A quick answer. Makoto averted his daze to the dirtied floor, scraping the dust with the soles of his shoes. "I didn't even want to be a SHSL Detecteive in the first place."
"All that matters is that you are the SHSL Detective," the man bluntly replied, crossing his arms as he eyed Makoto's insecure expression. "Maybe if your little sister was to be harmed, then maybe you would fully accept your title."
"Where the hell did that came from?!" Makoto suddenly screamed into the night, his hands forming into fists. "My little sister has nothing to do with whatever the hell you're saying!"
Hearing Makoto's raging words coming from his mouth was utmost satisfying to the man. He crept up a small smile before suddenly breaking down into a hysteric laugh, frightening the detective who took a small step back, shocked. "I was kidding! I was kidding!" The man cried out between choked laughter. "Why would the mastermind do something so horrible? He doesn't even know about your family."
"Then why the hell would you say it?" Makoto bitterly replied, glaring at the man. "Do you want to piss me off or something?"
"Even if I were to do that you wouldn't be able to reach me at all. We're in a dream, remember? Mr. Takamori, are you losing your lack of skill as a detective?"
"Oi, oi. You really are pissing me off..." Makoto mumbled, the lighthearted atmosphere from the man starting to annoy him. "And I thought Rina's loudness would've pissed me off. I'm kinda tired of putting on this cheery personality."
"You've never liked the loud sorta types of people," the man commented, snickering. "Well, what are you gonna do at the party? It's going to be filled to the brim with loud music, dances, crazy people, and maybe..." A psychotic smile appeared briefly on the man's lips. "Something traumatic."
Makoto stood still, silence beginning to fill the atmosphere. Monokuma might be planning something special for the party- he knew that would be a probability. Makoto has tried his best to keep up an optimistic air around him, but it was probably his time to look out for a possible murder at hand. He didn't want anyone to suffer.
Makoto knew Constantine, Takane, and Juugo would have some ideas at hand. Maybe he can start by asking them for their theories.
He heaved a deep sigh before glaring at the man and declaring out in a proud, determined voice, "I'm going to observe."
Students Remaining: 16
Alright, and now this chapter's over! Makoto's finally gonna be in the action this time, you've seen Juugo act a bit smug today, and you've seen the first romantic kiss! Hooray for Toby and CJ! Ayano's party will be coming in the next few chapters as though it were an arc, but something may be in store! There's two masterminds?! Woah, that's a shocking thing... Or is there two? Well then, I guess I can take my leave...?
Makoto's last words there were pretty much from Smash King, a SSBB machinima... Ahaha. Anyways, for the next chapter: the start of the "happy" party, Toby and CJ, craziness, etc.!
Despise that "Students Remaining" sign because the number will decrease more and more as the story goes on...
