As the sun rose, a strand of golden and piercing light crept its way through Cait's room, up her bed and straight to her face. She squirmed as the sunlight and its warmth eased her out of her sleep. Though an early riser, usually getting up at the first ray of sunlight, she didn't quite abide to that habit when a hangover was in progress. Flustered by her own habit, she exhaled fiercely as she rose from her bed, placing a palm on her forehead do to the pulsing pain. She noticed she was fully dressed, except for her boots and top hat which were neatly placed on the stand near her bed, she smiled...slightly. Her head throbbed and her stomach churned as she stood from her bed, feeling dizzy in the process and perceiving the distinctive smell of liquor. Cait hated hangovers, she exercised self-control to prevent such incidents as today, though such things changed when Vi moved in. Cait never protested her roommate's and partner's habits but she was constantly surprised by how much influence she had on her, she somehow became vulnerable with her. Inhaling and exhaling deeply to regain control of her body and avoiding throwing up on her beautiful bedroom floor, she stripped except for her bra and panties which were a matching pair of silk purple lace. As she stood, relieved from her stinking clothes, she breathed deeply and stretched, feeling every bend and muscle in her body. She loved her body, it was her pride, her temple and she worked hard in keeping it in perfect shape- ever the perfectionist. She placed her dress in the laundry basket she kept in her bathroom beside the door and moved towards her closet as she massaged her neck and shoulders, moaning slightly as her tense muscles relaxed. She watched the clock that stood on her night table, a metallic steam cell powered alarm clock with gold lining and gold numbers on its inside over a black metal frame where 2 golden arms marked the time, it was a quarter past nine. Cait grunted as she knew it was already late, crime never waited. She quickly put on a silk navy blue night gown, slim fitted and with cleavage and walked out of her room, still holding her head with one hand as the pain pulsated again.
As quickly as possible Cait put their coffee maker going, a rather large yet fully automatic machine which pulverized the grains to powder and proceeded to create the beverage specified by the buttons pressed. Cait sometimes felt having scientific geniuses and friends with mechanical skills was turning to be a bit overwhelming. Their gifts sometimes where excessive...but she'd never hand over the coffee maker, nor her autonomous herb garden outside in their small backyard. As she waited for the coffee to be brewed, Cait walked outside to their small backyard; it was the size of a terrace with grass and a metallic reinforced policarbon-steel fence (Vi-proof more than foolproof) which gave a spectacular view out to Piltover fields, the pier with its port, and lower Piltover- where the main marketplaces and shops extended. Against the wall of their house beside the door through which she entered the backyard lay an ingenious mechanism which ran on solar energy. It held 24 different globes where the ideal biomes for the perfect growth and development of flavor, aroma and texture where created for her herbs- some for cooking and some for teas. Cait enjoyed watching what the conditions for each plant was daily, it always changed, and it was like looking into different worlds. However, her calm state was soon ended as Cait remembered how late it was and Vi was still nowhere to be seen, and the chances of Vi waking up before her were near 0.
Cait: VI!
Her scream was loud, yet her tone was mild but full of authority.
Cait: VI!
As her second scream rang through the house, she heard a thud on the second floor coming from Vi's room.
Cait had a headache which pulsated constantly, and her screaming had only worsen her situation. Her mood was slowly becoming worse and she thanked that the two coffee mugs were finished by their machine: one hot black coffee with coconut for her and a vanilla cappuccino with a hint of cinnamon for Vi- ironic.
Cait: VI!
Vi: 5 minutes mom!
Cait shut her eyes and eased herself, feeling a vein on her head would burst. She took a long sip, breathing deeply the full aroma and heavy body of the coffee, her headache slowly fading. As she exhaled after her long drink, she scratched the back of her left leg, perfectly shaven and smooth, with her right foot, petite and with flawless cut nails and pedicure. Cait stared into their living room, it was organized and clean for the first time in months. There were no beer bottles scattered, no papers pending to be files, nothing broken, no clothes laying around, and the only thing that seemed out of place was her polymorphic hextech rifle- laying at the base of the long red sofa in front of their giant screen TV. She stood up and picked it up, placing it against the kitchen wall, near her grasp but becoming part of their organized home (mostly kept by her). She moved her delicate fingers through her brown long hair, combing it slowly so she wouldn't look like she had a hangover. They rarely had guests, but Cait hated not being presentable, she was very strict on that domain- presentation. However, her slight daze was interrupted by a loud thud which came from the top of the stairs, followed by a grunt.
Vi half tumbled and half walked down the stairs, she was not an early riser at all. Her pink hair was made into a mess and she had apparently no signs of a hangover as she took the mug from Cait's hand as she entered the kitchen. It was no surprise she didn't have the side effects as Cait did, she was a party animal and her party hard habits resisted to die out regardless of Cait's strict rules.
Vi: Thanks Doll.
Vi said this with a grin as she blew softly into the mug, taking soft sips. Cait stared at her over her own mug, she was examining her. Vi had little regards to her presentation, her white top was falling from one of her shoulders, revealing her blue silk bra and her bust, and she had walked down stairs barefooted with just her blue thong. Cait shook her head as she elevated a simple prayer to the heavens that they wouldn't receive any visitors soon, especially Jayce Hansen.
Vi: Wow, you really are a wreck.
Cait: Why you say that?
Vi snickered as she observed calmly and soberly at her boss: her just combed but greasy hair, the black sleeping bag under her eyes, the smeared purple eye shadow around her eyes, and the fact her gorgeous and sexy night gown was wrong side out.
Vi: Nothin', but you might want to check a mirror.
Vi snickered again as Cait glared at her over her Mug, their stare at the same level- which usually happened when Vi sat and Cait was standing.
Cait: Hmph, we better get ready before noon Vi. Duty calls.
Vi: it always does, we got time.
Cait: I've got a headache, please don't make it worse.
Vi: Someone has a hangover?
Vi snickered again and leaned back on the metallic high chair, covering her mouth with her hand. Cait frowned and closed her eyes as she contained her ill temper, her patience was thin at the moment. Instead, she pivoted on her heels and gave her back to Vi, pouting a bit.
Cait: We have a job and a responsibility.
Vi: oh, relax babe...
Vi stood from her chair and stood behind Cait, putting her arms teasingly around her waist. Cait's eyes widened and she let out a small whelp, her body suddenly going stiff- she wasn't much about physical contact. On the other hand, Vi grinned as she felt her partner's body react to her action; she loved being flirtatious, sexy and a tease...yet, she was ignorant and shy over sexual topics.
Vi: Together, we can solve everything.
As she said this, she placed her chin over her partner's head, gently pulling her closer. Cait, exhaled slowly and elbowed Vi right on the abs, making her lose her breath with a barely audible grunt.
Cait: Please, take things seriously.
Vi just stood rubbing her abs, slightly bent as she glanced with one eye at Cait.
Vi: that...hurt.
Cait: you know I hate my height, and learn to respect me.
As sunlight poured from the front windows, they casted a golden aura around Cait, who stood in a pose of authority. Vi smiled and shook her head as her partner took a last sip to her mug and extended a hand, like an angel with a merciful hand.
Vi: ugh, so, what's in for today?
Vi said this as Cait pulled her up and proceeded to place her mug in the sink.
Cait: well, it's already 10:18. Go get a bath and dress up, I'll check if there are any news reported on the Archiver.
She said this as she moved in front of Vi who stood kneeling on the kitchen archway, looking at all her movements. She was in a better state of mind now and she had begun to organize the kitchen: mugs in the sink, leaving fruit out for the way, picking up last night's mess. As she finished her orders, she stood in front of Vi, who looked at her with warm eyes. Cait smiled and giggled, something only Vi managed to get from her; she fixed her loose tank top and combed her hair, standing on her tip toes.
Vi: what you doin'?
Vi blushed slightly looking at her boss so close... and so exposed.
Cait: Nothing.
Cait stopped her actions as she did this and rested both of her hands on her chest. Both girls stared at her delicate, petite hands and long fingers as they rested on Vi's chest which rose rhythmically.
Cait: Move!
Cait giggled as she firmly pushed Cait away and into the living room. Vi was shaken, yet she laughed as she messed her hair. Cait leaned on the kitchen archway and looked at her sternly, tapping her right foot.
Cait: Move!
Vi: sure thing, boss.
Vi winked at her and made her way up the stairs, laughing all the way.
Cait: we are really late! Stop wasting time!
Vi: Relax! We'll get there, let loose!
Cait: Seriously!? You can't be soft with the law Vi!
Cait went upstairs to check that Vi wasn't loafing about and then entered her office, the door across Vi's. Inside were many shelves and cabinets with countless archives and virtual storage devices (they plugged into Archivers, Storagers or computers), a simple computer, a Storager (a crafty machine where written documents or reports or files could be placed and these were then digitalized) and an archiver. The archiver was an invention she and Heimerdinger had worked on personally, it revolutionized security. Before the archiver, Heimerdinger had created a vast arsenal of assault, mob and surveillance drones which each had an armored case with their memory. These drones would require to be docked and put out of service as their memory was extracted and filed, and each type of drone had a different procedure. The archiver changed that by transforming the already self-sufficient drones- they ran on solar and mecha-chrono energy, hence never ran out of energy- into an inter-connected web that watched over the city. Each drone sent (virtually) video and textual footage of their surveillance and scouting to the Archivers in the city: one in Cait's home, one in the Science Academy, 4 in the police department and one in the League facilities. The drones all patrolled sectors of the city and recorded everything, if something observed seemed out of the ordinary it was reported textually (a formal and detailed report of the action, time and location). The archiver transformed all this data into a manageable version and physical receipt which allowed Cait and any ally to keep Piltover safe. As Cait ripped the current receipt, which already extended to the floor, she frowned. Apparently it was going to be a busy busy day.
Cait sat in the living room, toying with her rifle in one hand as she read the 14 filed reports, a serious look on her face. Upstairs, Vi was finishing her long bath and was proceeding to shave flawlessly her body, she disliked itchiness as her body casts and armor were very ... Tight. Having finished, Vi walked naked to her room, she loved feeling her nude body and feeling the wind kiss her skin, but only when she was in her room. To Vi, the room of a person was his/her sanctuary and it should never be violated, in it one could be as free as one desired. And so, after stretching every muscle and cupping her perky busty chest (a bit jealous Cait carried bigger...guns) she decided to punch her bag a bit...to warm up. As soon as Vi turned on her Boom Box and flung a fist toward her sack it exploded. Vi was shocked and frozen as the sand piled on the floor, her eyes wide open and blank, a twitching smile on her open mouth.
Cait: Stop wasting time! We got work to do!
Vi: But Cait...
The second shot hit the shelf where her Boom Box stood and Vi caught it before it hit the floor.
Cait: Next time, I won't miss!
Vi turned the Boom Box off and rested it on her bed, she took a deep breath and exhaled. Seeing Cait stressed wasn't an abnormal occurrence, but neither was it common, but she knew Cait was rational always. Though she had aimed at her Boom Box, Cait had not missed, she had merely chosen to "miss". When she had just moved in, Vi had brought with herself only a handful of belongings: a bag of clothes, a screwdriver and that Boom Box. Though Cait had bought her and helped her with clothes, a bed, furniture, and the likes, she had also mounted that shelf alongside Vi where the Boom Box stood. Vi smiled as she saw the splintered wood of the shelf and then at her Boom Box as she got dressed: black underwear, a cameo tank top and her casted pants (made from carbon fiber strands and Kevlar). Regardless how mad Cait got, she'd never be as heartless to destroy the only gift she had left of her little sister.
As Vi walked down the stairs she saw Cait was toying with her rifle on one hand, she looked thoughtful and stressed.
Vi: what's up?
Cait: Read.
Cait stood up and placed her rifle against the wall next to the stairs, she handed the receipt with all 14 entries to Vi. Grabbing the long piece of paper Vi grumbled, she hated reading.
Cait: I'm going to get ready, be ready to leave.
As Cait went up the stairs Vi sighed and moved towards her gear standing beside her work room. As she heard Cait's door close Vi placed the receipt on the kitchen counter and proceeded to suit her battle armor, casts and her power mecha hands. It was the only activity where Vi was careful and delicate, making sure every screw, bolt and cord be properly tensed, in good shape and fitted her perfectly- allowing both protection and mobility. As Vi suited her power boots, which automatically fit themselves to her body, she proceeded to quickly read the receipt, maybe something interesting would happen today.
Vi walked up the stairs with a face, a rare occurrence as she usually had a smirk or grin. Out if the 14 entries only 4 had caught her eye, the others were more intimidation and fining. But, these 4 implied something was actually going on, maybe explaining even why Cait got upset:
#4: Viktor was seen bargaining rare arsenals, weaponry which was very difficult to find, even worse to acquire
#5: This same drone that saw Viktor was struck, electrocuted and then shot at point blank, the last image sent was of a blue strand of hair.
#11: A series of individuals with a pink shark armband were seen throughout the city
#14: Ziggs was seen downtown, near little China district, carrying blue prints...he disappeared below the metro-line (a magnetically suspended monorail which ran throughout the city and connected all its districts).
Vi wasn't pleased on what the reports were implying, and she would never tell what she thought. She took a deep breath and focused on the fact that today she'd at least have fun, she knocked on Cait's door.
Cait: Almost done!
The sound was muffled, but Vi was able to make out her partner's words. Ever since she had moved in the house had most of its rooms made sound proof do to her..."noisy habits". As far Vi understood it was mainly cause of her work room and her loud music usually on in her room...maybe because she snored too, but Cait wasn't that strict...or so she thought.
Vi: Hurry up! Today'll be a fun day!
Vi said this as she leaned against her partner's wall and stretched, testing her gear's functions too.
Cait: I can't hear you, come in.
Vi: Nah, don't worry, I'll wait.
Cait: what!?
Vi: I'll wait!
Cait: Did you read the receipt?!
Vi: Yah, fun day.
Vi heard loud footsteps come close to the door and stood up, ready to leave.
Vi: Ready to...
She was cut off as Cait grabbed her by her shoulder casts and pulled her in the room. Vi stumbled in and quickly whelped and covered her whole face with her mecha hands.
Cait: I can't hear you if you stand outside and my door is shut.
Vi: Sorry, I'm so sorry Cait, you dragged me in, I'm not looking, I swear.
Cait: Oh please
Vi apologized again and again, she respected the privacy of one's room...and she had never seen anyone (male or female) but herself nude. Vi understood Cait was proud of her body (and she should), it was sexy and curvaceous, a bomb shell, but she never expected to see her naked- she didn't expect that much trust. Cait had pulled Vi into her room topless, with only a pink laced thong and a towel on her head. Though it was only a flick of a moment, Vi had seen too much: the ay her breasts stood firmly and perky despite their voluptuous size, her flat belly, toned and firm, her firm legs which looked muscular but didn't show the slightest, and her smooth soft skin, slightly pink with golden shades. Vi stood tense, hoping her current situation would end soon.
Cait: stop being so prude. My body is like yours, there's nothing special or weird.
Vi: I'm not prude!
Vi said this as she lowered her hands and gave a firm stomp, but she still had her eyes closed.
Vi: I just...I had never seen you this way, I don't come into your room.
Cait: you know I don't care.
Cait talked casually as she slowly got dressed, putting her white, pleaded bikers on.
Vi: room are meant to be private.
Cait: Aww, so sweet.
As Cait said this she smiled and moved towards Vi, stroking her face affectively.
Vi opened her eyes, freezing and raising her gaze, Cait giggled.
Cait: you know that I don't like hiding things, transparency is key to trust...my door is always open.
Vi: don't you want privacy?
Cait put on her purple dress (she had a closet of the same one), adding a leather brown belt to compliment. She smiled at Vi's inquiry and, as she made sure her strapless pink bra didn't show over her dress, moved towards her. Pulling her dress up a bit on her chest, big cleavage but showing nothing, she pulled her partner's head down form the chin.
Cait: you're my partner, you should know everything about me. I expect you to.
Vi blushed slightly as she held a warm gaze into Cait's cold serious eyes which glinted affection. Both girls smiled and giggled as they blinked and Cait caressed Vi's cheek in a single motion from her hand. As Vi stood up right, palming her cheek where Cait had caressed it, she watched as her lady put on her high boots, her petite feet arching delicately to slide in. Vi grinned and bit her lip, her heart pounding a bit.
Vi: Nice body, Lady.
Cait stopped her movements for a brief moment and smiled before continuing her actions.
Cait: Thanks, and don't call me Lady. Let's go.
As she said "Let's go", Cait grabbed her Top hat from its stand and headed out the door. Vi followed with a smirk on her face.
Vi: Sure thing sexy, where to first?
Cait turned around quickly, a surprised face facing Vi and quickly aimed her rifle at her when they reached downstairs.
Cait: Oh, you're going to be under the gun of you said that again.
Both started moving again after Cait finished her threat and lowered the gun. They moved swiftly and headed to the car in the garage.
Vi: Awww, but I don't like being under the gun.
Cait: Why not? You just ask for trouble, you beg it.
Vi: 'Cause you never miss!
Cait: Well, behave.
Vi: that's boring.
Cait: VI!
Vi: Sexy Lady.
Cait: Oh My God!
They were both already in the car and the garage door was opening when their laughter exploded. As Vi pulled the car out, they calmed themselves a bit and proceeded to talk about the receipt. Through bickering and teasing they agreed in a plan of action for the day. As Vi drove towards the police station, she watched at her lady sitting on the copilot seat; her long brown hair waved back in the air, a gorgeous smile on her face as the midday sun shined on them, she stared at the upcoming buildings, at her city, the one for which she'd give her life. As Vi turned her gaze back on the road she wondered when had her life changed so much, and she had never imagined she'd ever be willing to give her life for someone.
