Cait sat on the couch of their home, it had been a rough day…to say the least. After the ruckus and destruction of the back part of the market place, plus her wounds, she was stuck in HQ with 01 to finish paperwork for the reconstruction of the area, interrogation of Ziggs, tending of wounds on behalf of the League's summoners and a hearing she had with the League's Piltover Representative. By the end of it all she asked Jayce to drive her home, which he gladly did and obviously tried to move on her. It ended with a much shaken Jayce and a couple of shots to the groin; he never had thanked the League for the shields more.

Legs, arms and waist bandaged, Cait eased her way into their couch with a cup of tea, rubbing her bare feet together. She didn't worry much about scars cuts, bruises or shots. Healing magic and science were so advanced that she'd be at her 100% by tomorrow. However, the fact she had taken this much harm and the city, her city, had been damaged to so much – 3 sectors damaged, numerous shops destroyed and needing rebuilding, the Market was cut off of power and water until repairs were done. Thankfully no casualties…that was her greatest relief… she had vowed the day she took her father's office that there would be no more bloodshed in the city. Up to this day, Cait, Vi, nobody had spilled blood in the streets of Piltover. The law was upheld with grace and precision and criminals were always incarcerated, never killed… however dangerous they could be.

Of course, if difficult or dangerous individuals popped up, liked Ziggs or Viktor, their imprisonment was exchanged for jurisdiction of the League. Instead of rampant and having constant warfare between skilled and powerful individuals, the League ensured that none of its members could gain an upperhand, nor cause significant damage to people and places. The reason why every champion (good and bad) followed the League's code was always a mystery. While some believed that the punishment to disobeying was to be casted into the Void, Cait believed it had to do with honor. Warriors, icons and heroes at heart… honor was kept in the highest of regards.

Cait grimaced as she moved a bit to pull her legs in, the grazes of the Gatling Gun had cut her in various places. She was thankful the girl was a terrible shot and the sprays of her weapon were mostly off mark. Still… she worried infinitely more about her partner and her obsession with this….girl.

"Sister." Cait thought and slightly mumbled to herself as she sipped her tea cup. It was what Vi had said, what she had called this blue haired maniac. Cait knew very little about Vi's past…at least personally. Prior to asking her to join her, Cait and kept tabs on the girl and even dugged into her past. Orphan, vandal, part of various gangs in her early years, became a technology black market merchant and a Heist Breach Specialist, her curriculum was filled with conflict, against the law actions and danger. However, murder was never among the lists of charges and criminal history. The story of a criminal expert going vigilante was one no one had heard before and Cait was too intrigued and fascinated with to let it slip by.

Still, no sister, no family…there was no real registration of Vi's origins, family life or if she had any… she simply "appeared" as many kids did in the slums… fighting each day to simply survive in that harsh, aggressive and violent environment. But that was in the past now…the slums were gone and people had equal opportunities. Free education, diverse and various job spots, a fluent economy which bloomed thanks to the Science Academy's transportation inventions (zeppelins, steam powered boats, electric trains, etc.), the city constantly opened opportunities for its citizens to grow and improve.

However, nothing is perfect and the extensive freedom the city gave its citizens was sometimes abused by its citizens as the warfare market (always held in the shadows) was kept running by parties that wanted chaos and anarchy to return. Arms dealers, drug lords, mafia lords, the groups were varied and they disliked that Piltover had become elitist. It was true though, and it was perhaps the one thing Cait had no answer to. The ideal Piltover seemed so to outsiders and to its people. But…it was a city that couldn't have external influence, whose cultural influence had to be kept at bay and whose open system actually had a highly structured set of rules and laws. Behind the freedom, was a very oppressive system to ensure new ideas did not sprout controversy or change.

New ideas towards government or administration were always met with cold shoulders and skepticism and the higher powers always silenced those who wished to "change the order which has made the city what it is." Sadly…Cait was part of those higher powers. She hated it…but knew it was necessary. Was Vi once part of these movements? A curious doubt her always untrusting mind had just summoned.

The door suddenly opened, not with a smash or rash movement, but actually just a simple open and close of the door. Vi had come back and though Cait's demeanor and semblance showed annoyance and anger, her heart had skipped a beat.

Cait: Where the hell were you?!

Vi: Honey, I'm home.

Cait stretched her arm for her gun as the base of the couch but grimaced and stopped as her arms ached and burned. Vi walked slowly and pained, grabbing her most busted left hand, towards her partner, sitting beside her on the couch.

Vi: Hey gorgeous.

Cait looked at her with menacing cold eyes as Vi began to take her gear off, slowly. She pained and grimaced at every peace that came off, revealing bruises or shrapnel on the skin. Cait, still with her frigid self, watched as each peace showed the amount of damage the girl had soaked up and had still managed to withstand until now. She had spent the day with all of her wounds unattended and to Cait that was both amazing and stupid as she left to get their medical kit. She was no doctor, no medic, but at nearly midnight, she did not wish to bother anyone…she'd tend her partner herself. Thankfully, their med kit was top class and should have Vi's condition back to 100% in….maybe 2 or 3 days.

Cait returned to see a bloodied and really damaged left hand of Vi slowly opening and closing, her face filled with pain as she bit on her lower lip. Cait sighed, her anger washing away as she tripped on the MechaHand… it was junk falling apart. She had taken all that damage for her…and endured it for some personal reason. Cait took out her golden pocket watch device Heimer had created, she had learned a bit on how to use it thanks to 01 and...Heimer visiting.

Heimer visiting was always fun and…annoying. The tech nerd always had new ideas and crazy things that made everyone laugh…but it also meant that he never shut up when a topic about some technology came up. Being his invention the latest gadget…he tried to explain EVERYTHING it did to Cait. To say the least, it simply didn't happen and Cait nearly kicked him out of HQ…but she did learn a thing or two. Device in hand she began to press the symbols and icons in the gel, calling for medical emergencies. Message sent and a reply reading they'd be there shortly made Cait sigh in relief as she closed the device close to her chest.

Cait: You're an idiot.

Vi looked at her upset but said nothing as the short yet gorgeous girl kneeled beside her, carefully and delicately lifting her arm. Still nagging at her for running away Cait washed the arm first with a special sponge of the kit which disinfected all of it. Vi watched with a grin on her face, hissing and grimacing as the sponge cleaned her wounds. She loved the soft spots of Cait. Though few, they were heartwarming and it always remembered her that she could count on her all the time. Still, she tried to act all tough with the stings and burns as Cait placed the nanohex liquid on her arm which contained hextech technology which accelerated regeneration of skin, bones etc. It stung… horribly as it began to act immediately, followed by a cold cream which acted as a seal for the liquid and also soothed and numbed pain of both the liquid and what her body would be doing in the process of recovery.

Cait giggled as she stole stares at Vi, watching her usually tomboyish and tough self, whimper and yelp at her tending. She rubbed her arms, comforting and making sure her tending was done well and that the white cloth held tightly. Cait smiled, looking at Vi's hands, they were tough, big, callous and yet feminine, clean cut and well kept. Curious and self-absorbed Cait placed one of her hands on Vi's, mesmerized by the difference in them. Her slender, small hands with long finger to grip her weapon versus Vi's strong and large hands to grab and handle equipment. They were so different.

Vi: Um…Cait?

Cait turned, as if shaken awake, at Vi who had her cheeks blushed and stared at her.

Vi: Wha're you doin'?

Cait looked back down to their hands together and quickly lifted her hand to clear her throat, her face blushing quickly.

Cait: Nothing, the docs will be her soon to mend your…wounds.

Cait noticed Vi's wounds were quite scattered throughout her body, but the worst had been her arms- her left considerably worse. She sighed in relief as Vi stretched her arms out and laid back onto the couch, sinking slightly.

Vi: Tough day huh?

Cait: Most Definitely. Would've been better if my partner had not run off.

Vi frowned.

Vi: Sorry

Cait: Where did you go?

She asked quite annoyed as she disliked secrets in every way, even the smallest.

Vi: I jus' had to check on somethin'.

Cait: Vi!

Vi: Wha' it's the truth!

Cait: I'm your partner, you are injured, what if you got into trouble? Or got assaulted by her again? Or by some extremists, or radicals…you know we are always moving targets!

Vi: I know! But we have the shields of the League! Wors' case scenario I'd be sent to…

Cait scoffs and gets up the couch in anger. She was upset that Vi wasn't giving the situation or what had happened the seriousness it required. It annoyed her that she had run off to do whatever she pleased. It annoyed her that she didn't tell her everything.

Vi: Cait, Cait don' be mad…I actually got something we could use!

Cait: I don't care.

Vi eyes her curiously. Cait always cared, Cait cared if a color was fuchsia or purple…or magenta. Cait cared if it was 12:01 or 12:03! Vi stood up, carefully and moved behind an angry Cait who had both arms on the marble kitchen counter, supporting her weight as she rubbed the back of her neck. Her hair was loose, flowing like water as she moved her hand under it. Vi couldn't help but smile as she placed one of her patched hands on her head, caressing it. Cait breathed in deeply.

Cait: Stop.

Vi: It helps you relax

Cait: No, you won't just dismiss the topic Vi.

Vi: I'm not!

She grins.

Vi: Seems our lil' troublemaker is staying somewhere in the city. Dunno where though. She's a demolition specialist…but she's made a name for herself at Zaun…she moved here 'cause of…extremists.

Cait: You mean…

Vi: Price on our heads is pretty high…

Cait sighed.

Cait: So…she's a mercenary…of sorts.

Vi: Not really…she apparently took the job for the money…but…

Cait eyes her curiously, Vi's face was sulking as if confused and hurt. She took Vi's hand off her head and placed it on the counter. Cait wrapped an arm around Vi's neck and hugged her, helping her relax. Vi took a deep breath at the hug…she loved them. Whether it was the fact of living together or the dangers of their job…it soothed her…to know she had her, her little bossy lady that cared. Chuckling Vi pushes Cait away, nodding her head…a sign they both had learned meant, "I'm fine". Cait smiled and moved to their kitchen, taking two glasses of wine and a wine bottle.

Cait: Maybe this will help.

Vi: I'll need somethin' with a bit more…kick.

Vi moved past Cait to their fridge, taking some bottles of beer from it. Cait shook her head in disapproval but laughed it off. As she admired the rather tomboyish girl all bruised up the door was knocked. Cait moved to open it, the medics had arrived.

The medics, were quick in their work, patching Vi up and giving her a single injection. It was just an immune and cellular boost but Cait had enjoyed everything with a glass of wine. The tough and rough, rowdy and noisy Vi was a big baby for needles and Cait couldn't help but laugh as the pink haired girl scurried and tried running away from it. The robot medical assistants had to help keep her down and Cait had to hold her hand to ease her into getting the shot. Cait laughed and smiled all the while.

Vi pouted and sat in place as Cait teased her even after the doc left. She wasn't angry, she just hated showing her true girly colors…but at least they were before her partner. Soon, a rather blushed Cait with a messed hair was breathing slowly and deeply, trying to control her laughter. She rarely laughed…yet…she looked so nice when she did. Vi wondered why her boss rarely smiled or laughed like right now. She was thankful that at least she got to see her in these ways. Soon, Cait calms down and extends a bottle of beer to Vi, which she grabs with a smile.

Cait: So… we have a topic pending.

Vi: Ye' ye'. I know…but it's not a nice one.

Cait: She took the job for us?

Vi: For me…

A silence settled between them as Cait eyed her, carefully and curiously. She sips her glass and takes a seat on the couch, beside Vi, facing her.

Cait: Sister?

Vi avoids gazing at her, opting to look at their ceiling.

Vi: I don't know.

Cait: Why you…

Vi: I'm not sure…or I'm afraid to accept it.

Vi takes a deep breath, bending over, her free hand rubbing the back of her neck.

Vi: She's from Zaun…nobody knows much 'bout her except that she's as dangerous as she's crazy…

Cait: Well…that's comforting.

Vi: She's a hired gun, a killer to be precise…the radicalists and our pledged enemies hired her to get rid of us…so they could take over again. You know…

Cait: The usual…

Vi: Yeap…

Cait: Except this time it's your sister.

Vi bites her lips, covering her face.

Vi: It's my fault.

A tear streams down her cheek.

Vi: 10 years ago I could've gone back for her. After the incident…

Cait: Spare the details of why we matched up…

Vi shook her head, Cait was cold as ever…was she?

Vi: I was…so caught up in getting revenge, in taking those pieces of…

Cait: Language

Vi sighs and chuckles.

Vi: I forgot her Cait…I forgot she was left in the streets. Last I heard about her was when we were taking back the slums.

Cait: What did you here?

Vi: That she had joined one of the gangs, doing some henchmen work. Then…

Cait stares at her expectantly as Vi swallows hard. She leans to her, comforting her slightly.

Vi: remember we once thought there was some anti-hero in the city as mob bosses and drug dealers popped up dead?

Cait shivers.

Cait: Grizzly images.

Vi: they just stopped one day

Cait: thank Go…

Vi looks at a Cait who had connected the dots.

Vi: That was her...

Cait: Why would they hire someone who has killed their people before!

Cait and Vi: Desperate

They chuckle.

Vi: But…this time…she refused the money…said she'd take the job willingly…had a score to settle.

Cait: She wants to bring us down just because?

Vi: Nah, she wants to make me remember what it meant to be from the slums…why we hated authorities…and why were better than them.

Cait: Better?

Vi: We avoided or took the law down for years…she's no amateur. But…now…she's angry.

Cait: So what?

Vi: You're an only child…so…I doubt you'll understand…but. When your own sister leaves you to become a cop…and she pairs up with another girl with whom she seems quite happy and even has won some fame…

Cait: I get it…

Vi: This will be tough…

Cait scoffs.

Cait: Our job is tough…this is war…

Vi: I don't want to…

Cait: Hurt her?

Vi bites her lips as a tender hand cups her face.

Cait: We don't work that way…we'll find a way. Besides…if she's this…special... the League might help us out.

Vi: Thanks.

Vi hugs Cait abruptly, who yelps in surprise, feeling the hard muscular body press against hers which was toned but softer. She blushed as she hugged her back, softer and much more awkward. She was crimson red and had a hard time finding where to place her hands. Vi chuckled and let her go, rubbing her eyes from the tears.

Vi: Sorry…why you so red?

Cait: W-What?! I'm not!

Cait protests as she drinks from her glass. Vi begins to laugh, a loud laugh to which Cait begins to protest. Exchanging remarks and teases the night ticked by, after a hard day the girls enjoyed the drinks and time together, falling asleep on the couch: Cait on top on Vi's chest, whom stretched her body over the whole furniture. It would be their last moment of peace.

The month after was riddled with mayhem, chaos and anarchy…one the city had forgotten, and had lived unseen of over the last couple of years. Jinx's attacks had been swift, unpredictable and completely erratic. The news had been filled with riots, outbreaks and blood…something even Cait and Vi felt sick to their stomachs. First, it started with the senate, some of its members had been murdered, their bodies displayed with spray paint messages of the crimes they had committed. "Murderer", "Rapist", "Corrupt", "Fraud", "Thief", "Criminal", Jinx had scattered millions of flyers throughout the city on what each man murdered did. She played to the people's emotions, the sensation that the system was faulty, that it needed to change. It was impossible to prevent the flyers from being read, yet their biggest problems was how and where she was getting this information. It was faulty to believe Cait and Vi were unaware of these claims, they knew they were true, which made their press conferences harder to deal with. Cait, versed in words usually simmered things down, but so many claims in such a short time started showing the holes in the plan.

Cait and Vi had agreed along with the Senate and Science Academy that each would deal with a specific area of concern of the city. They'd be a 3 pronged attack and control group on the menaces of society, however, neither could interfere in the others' domain. The fact Ziggs constantly made things out of line and through black markets, or that certain senators had backgrounds questionable for the rolls they were entrusted were knowledge to the duo…one they couldn't use. Passing reports and sharing their concerns with each group's leader: The Minister of Parliament and the "Teacher" (Heimerdinger), it was their decision what to do with each case. Though Heimer was just and harsh, removing privileges from his domain's wrongdoers so they'd learn the lesson; Parliament was different. The organism of the people for the people was much more lenient and rarely ever raised a finger against its members. "If the people chose them, we'll trust what the people want." That was their usual excuse.

Murals rallying to take the streets began to appear on billboards and walls, forcing Vi and Cait to work overtime and to double the number of drones on the streets. The city had never been declared in military state since Cait took over and the city's remodeling. Now, was not the first time, but the people's dark memories soon rose anew. The fleets of unmanned air and ground vehicles placed the city on edge and tense. Though they never attacked anybody (the drones were purely for intel) their numbers and figures were alarming. It was exactly what Jinx wanted as destroyed drones were exhibited with messages rallying over the oppressive and controlling security that ruled the city. Far from the truth but it hit the heart of the people…oppression, freedom of speech, the accusations were far too delicate subjects. Vi and Cait were quick in reducing the number of these and talking with the people to ease the tension. They were in control and they had everything under control, they just needed information on suspicious activity...they were called out.

What came next…was worse. The bodies of extremists began to appear, hunted down, perhaps the hatred Jinx felt towards them, or an act to gain more followers. Riots of the young started taking the streets, forcing for the security drones and Cait and Vi, along with the Science Academy to take more active rolls. As champions, they dissuaded cries of injustice, of power abuse and all of them even mingled with the youth to discourage the rage. Even comical moments arise as Cait was teased by Vi and Jayce, Ez charming girls with his looks causing Jayce to rage and to get jealous as he was usually swatted away. Blitzcrank was the big robot toy and Oriana was quite the vision as others opted to talk with Academy Members. Everyone did their part and they tried to protect both the citizens and their home. However, with a city claiming liberty and with few restraints, trusting order onto just 2 people, there were many unseen blind spots Jinx did see. Personal robots, made in image of the drones already destroyed once by Jinx were sent amongst the crowds. It was all part of a bigger scheme. Chemical warfare, home-made bombs along with the reaction of the drones to induce chaos, looking exactly like the security drones, caused people to believe the drones, robots and some of the champions (especially Vi and Cait) to be seen with questionable eyes. The hatred and disgust was fueled as Cait and Vi reprimanded "suspects", with no real grounds…the chaos was too great.

Jinx did not stop there…as the city grew in discord and mayhem, she decided to take the street herself. With charm, flare and explosives she claimed herself the "liberator" of the city…and so…she liberated. The Core, safest place of the City was shaken as the first attack swept its streets…the Exotic Zoo, famous throughout the city-states, was destroyed and its animals liberated and enraged. Contrary to the common and rare fauna of the regions, the Exo-Zoo was famous for the exotic and aggressive MEGA-Fauna of each region. It took a couple of days for Vi and Cait to help the caretakers take each animal back…some even being injured in the process. In the commotion, Piltover's Prison was attacked, liberating not many but the most dangerous of individuals Vi and Cait had imprisoned. Running from end to end, zone to zone, using both Zeppelins, cars, trains and running, the girls moved nonstop, exhausted as each day was a rinse and repeat. Even with every Champion helping them…things were simply out of control.

Coup de Grace- the city's first bombing. While the champions were capturing wrongdoers, even Viktor and other allies lending a hand, the Core was shook as a Pink spray painted Zeppelin with neon colors shot a series of missiles of hextech explosives down on the city. Buildings were shattered, areas were blocked off, Highways obliterated and the city burned…for the first time in years. As the city fell victim to chaos and the citizens shook in fear at the monster running amok amongst them a final message was displayed in every TV functional in the city. In the final act of the extent of her abilities, Jinx hacked into the City's mainframe and took over everything. However, the only way to do this…was through 01. In a live broadcast, Jinx showed the tattered and half functional 01 as she had haywired him enough to rig herself onto the network. She executed him. Without 01, Jinx gained controlled and shut down the city…a total black out except for a massive screen in Central Square, at the Core. It was the gathering of all highways, crosswords and known as the largest walk where people could find the biggest and fanciest shops, and…there, for everyone to see Jinx stated her ultimatum.

"Will Vi and Cait come out to play?"

An image displayed underneath the message in an 8bit fashion, Jinx shooting a rocket at the City's bank, destroying it. Cartoony, the building became ash and Jinx looked chibi in the image, but the comical images simply brought more horror to the message. She was truly out of her mind, to her…this was just a game…and she was winning.

A counter ticked beside it, 5 days. That was 4 days ago. Vi- bruised, hurt and tired- drank a can of beer as a pack waited at her right side. She sat on the rooftop of one of the still untouched buildings of the Core, staring up at the big screen a couple blocks ahead. Her Mechahands held each can delicately, sipping it calmly, almost meditating. The last days had been living hell, she and Cait had been pushed to their limits and her sister's resourcefulness had outmatched them each time. Yet, she could only wonder how much of her sister was in this girl who had wrecked the city they were born in.

Vi sighed, rotating her left shoulder a bit, it cracked nastily and Vi grimaced. They had been on edge all day every day…sleep was now a luxury and they had to constantly manage what and when they ate. The sound of the metal bars of the stairs made Vi swerve instinctively, alert and ready. A purple top hat slowly emerged from the edge and Vi sighed in relief. Cait however, with bandages on most of her forearms and legs slowly walked up to her partner. They smiled to each other as Vi scooted to make way for Cait; she sat with her legs crossed, leaning on her partner, resting her head on her shoulder. Vi blushed at the intimacy but Cait simply took her hat off and took a beer from the pack.

Vi: Hey!

Cait: Rough day.

Vi chuckled.

Vi: Tell me 'bout it.

The girls simply sat, watching the message repeat itself and blink before them. Cait shivered slightly, making Vi wrap one of her Mechahands around her.

Vi: Cold?

Cait: No…

Vi eyed her, intrigued.

Cait: I don't know… I just have a real bad feeling.

Vi: Great, now I'm worried.

Cait punched her weakly on the shoulder….they were exhausted.

Cait: She's like nothing we've faced before.

Vi: A' unstoppable force

Cait: And we're the unmovable object.

Vi: Who wins?

Cait: No one knows.

They sat in silence again, Vi grabbing her second can while Cait still sipped and grimaced her own can. Vi giggled at the Lady as she was clearly not used to the bitter taste of beer, nor to drink one…especially from a can. Cait giggles back, blushing as she was self-aware of her inexperience with the drink. Still, it was the only time they had to enjoy and rest…they might as well take it.

Cait: Hey Vi…

Vi: Yeah?

Cait: What will we do?

Vi: Fight…and hope for the best.

Cait bows her head, looking at her boots dangling from the edge.

Cait: What if…

Vi: We've never lost.

Cait: But what if…

Vi: I won' let that happen.

Vi pulled her close, which caused an involuntary yelp from Cait. They laughed.

Vi: Hey, I got you cupcake.

Vi grinned, charming and confident to which Cait blushes and giggles girlishly, pushing Vi's face away with a small hand. They girls laughed and drank the night away, talking about the past…of dreams…and desires. Soon…it was day and the first light that crept over the rooftops woke a rather dirty Lady with her purple dress. They had fallen asleep on the rooftop, Vi sprawled and Cait using Vi's belly as a pillow. Though her hair was messy, it was the best sleep they had had in days…which meant Vi was still heavily asleep. Cait glares at her sleeping giant and soon giggles as she notices the trail of drool sliding from the corner of her mouth. As simple, unrefined, rowdy and natural as she was (no makeup), there was something about her that made Cait care and warm. Cait passes a hand through Vi's hair, it was soft, silky and spiky on the really short parts. The hot pink suited her, it went with her personality. Cait smiled, staring at her and soon the giant would begin to open her eyes.

Stretching herself, she slowly got up, looking at the purple dressed Lady kneeling beside her with a rather fluffed and messy hair…she looked like a Pomeranian and Vi laughed hard.

Cait: What?!

Vi: Your hair…

Cait immediately raises her hands to her hair, feeling the scrunchy and puffed ball. She cries and begins to desperately comb her hair with her fingers. Vi laughs, an honest and loud laugh as Cait punches her on the shoulder, stronger…they were better. As their fighting soon turns playful, Vi dodging and keeping Cait back with her big metallic hands, their cries and laughs echo into the Core. Yet, their joy ended fast as to their own tones of laughter a more high pitched and demented one began to follow and join theirs. Vi swerved her head to the big screen… a huge 0 appeared over it…in the form of a bulls eye.

Vi: What the…

A missiles explodes into it, bringing the screen down onto the Core. Cait begins to use her COMMS, contacting all able hands and allies…another day.

Jinx: ARENT WE EXCITED?!

Jinx's voice blares from a Zeppelin which quickly curbs the Core, heading for Piltover's Bank.

Jinx: Tag you guys are it!

Her laughter blares as missiles begin to get fired into the city. It was show time, with a mutual nod Cait dashes for her gun and Vi begins pursuit…their duo would be tested today.
