Chapter 9: Man or Superman part 2
Outside Smallville High
Chloe ran as fast as she could after Jordan who was directly in front of her. She saw him dodge an oncoming pack of students who were walking up towards the school, and he didn't even break a stride.
'Jeez…Either he's running very fast or I'm just out of shape' Chloe thought to herself as she continued after him, "JORDAN STOP!" she yelled.
Jordan heard the shout and it took him a second to register the voice as Chloe's, he glanced over his shoulder to see that she was chasing after him. He continued to look on but he didn't see anyone else following her and once he realized that no one was following him he began to feel a bit foolish for running in the first place and he began to slow down allowing her to catch up to him.
"What…the…heck Jordan." Chloe stated while trying to catch her breath "Why are you running, what did you see when you touched him?"
"I-I-I…I saw a…super..man" he said
"A Super what?" she questioned still out of breath.
"L-Look Chloe I did what you asked okay I touched that guy and…..and he's one of us….but not really, just….just leave me alone okay." He said before rushing off down the down the sidewalk and away from Smallville High.
Chloe watched him go and she scrunched her face in slight confusion.
"He's one of us but not really what the heck does that mean?" she whispered to herself.

"WHO THE F*** HACKED INTO OUR SYSTEM!" Dr. Shugel shouted at the top of his lungs for the tenth time in the past hour or so and each time the question left his mouth the people around him only had one answer.
"We don't know yet" one of the assistants replied to him.
Dr. Shugel turned to the assistant and stared at him with a look of absolute hate and the assistant couldn't help but shrink away in fear because of the look.
"INCOMPETENT IDIOTS ALL OF YOU!" he roared.
"Father calm down" came the calm, cool and collected voice of Alexandra, Dr. Shugel's daughter.
Dr. Shugel whipped towards her and he saw her typing into the computer rapidly. The irate doctor stormed over to her until he was standing right next to her, hovering while she worked. Alexandra stopped her typing and she lazily looked at him.
"If you don't calm down you'll give yourself another heart attack."
"I think you've forgotten our relationship. I'm the adult and you're the child and so you don't ever tell me what to do, so don't tell me to calm down."
Alexandra scoffed before turning back to the computer.
"Please…I haven't been a child in years. And really father anger will you get you nowhere." she responded.
Dr. Shugel growled at her before turning his attention to the computer.
"What are you doing?"
"Attempting to hack the hacker, but it's proving to be quite difficult….but with my genius it's only a matter of time." Alexandra stated with a look of determination upon her face.
Smallville- Kent Family Farm
Jonathan Kent angrily shoved the pitchfork in his hands into the stack of hay in front of him and he tossed it over his shoulder and into the bigger pile of hay that was behind him.
"Jonathan" came Martha's voice from in front of him.
Jonathan heard her but he didn't stop he angrily shoved his pitchfork into another pile of hay and heaved it over his shoulder and into bigger pile.
"Jonathan!" Martha said again but only in a forceful tone of voice.
Jonathan stopped for a second and looked up at her before resuming in throwing the hay over his shoulder.
"What is it Martha?" he asked.
"Being angry at ourselves is not how we're going to win Clark back." She said while rubbing the back of her neck.
"Did you see the look in his eyes Martha?" he asked.
"Yes."
"He hates us."
"He doesn't hate us, he's just frustrated but…." she started then stopped.
"He didn't even come home last night to let us explain more or maybe he did come home but he moved so fast that we didn't see him because he didn't want us to see him." Jonathan finished while throwing the pitchfork down to the ground in anger.
Martha heaved a sigh and slowly walked over to her husband and gently embraced him.
"I know you're frustrated too, as am I but like you said this is new territory for all of us. It's not everyday you tell your son that he's really an alien."
"I'm regretting that we told him." Jonathan said in a low voice, "Maybe we shouldn't have."
"No, No…we did the right thing Jonathan we had to tell him, we couldn't keep lying to him or trying to protect him from the truth. Besides it's not like what we were doing before was any better than what's happening now."
"I…I just want him to understand that what we did was what was best for him…and…and that it doesn't matter he's alien and wherever he's truly from, he will always be our son."
"He knows that Jonathan he does. I think that once he processes all of this, he'll come to us and when he does, we'll be right here waiting."
Jonathan looked at her and a small smile graced his lips.
Smallville High- Library
Clark sat in the semi-crowded library staring at the computer screen in front of him that had dozens of images of Aliens. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at a picture of a typical green alien and then scrolled down to another image that looked very similar to the one he just seen.
Clark sighed and shook his head.
"They have no idea how wrong they are about aliens" he whispered "Or maybe they were right…maybe I might turn into one of these green things and…." He started but a shadow formed over the front of his computer.
Clark looked up to see a very cute girl with short blonde hair staring back at him. She looked at him with a curious look before a small smile crept along her lips.
"So..." she started "Are you a man….or…..or some type of Super Man?" she asked.
Clark furrowed his brows.
"What?" he asked with confusion evident in his voice.
"You heard me."
"Who are you?" he asked
"I'm Chloe….Chloe Sullivan and you're Clark Kent. And Clark I want you to know that I know all about you."
Clark looked at the girl in front of him and he slowly stood from his seat. He looked to the left and to the right and he let a small sigh when he saw that no one was looking at them. He turned back to her and he leaned forward a bit.
"You don't know anything about me." He whispered to her before whipping around and moving away from her and the computer.
Chloe pursed her lips together and she walked around the table with the computer. She glanced at the screen and at the pictures of the aliens briefly before following after him.
Hallway
Clark kept his cool as he walked down the hallway and away from the library. He gritted his teeth when he heard the footsteps of the girl named Chloe coming up from behind him.
"Hey hear me out first." She said quickly once she had caught up to him, "I do know you, you're different from everyone else right. You don't know how you're different but you are…you're not like everyone else and I know this because I am you. I'm just like you…I'm different too."
Clark stopped walking and he turned to Chloe who looked to the left and right making sure that no one heard them. He looked at her and he tilted his head to the side using his hearing to listen to her heart. Over the years he had learned to hone his hearing and in his years of learning to control the sense he learned that when people were lying their heart would speed up and to him the heartbeats sounded like a heard of rampaging Elephants but listening to Chloe's heart, the slow and steady beats, he could tell that she was telling the truth. She was telling the truth about being different.
"You're different?" Clark questioned after a long moment.
"Yes."
"How?" he asked, "How are you different?"
"I'm smart…very…very…very smart."
"No, I mean how, how are you very very smart?"
"I'm not entirely sure but I have an idea, you see 15 years ago when the meteors…." She started before Clark interrupted her.
"You don't know how I feel and you're wrong. I'm not different I'm like everyone else. So whatever is going through your mind you can just stop." He whispered strongly while resuming his walking.
Chloe heaved a sigh and briskly walked after him.
"I know exactly how you feel Clark…you feel like you're an outsider. You feel like…like an alien in your own skin. You feel that no one will understand what you're going through, but you're wrong."
Clark continued to walk away albeit a little slower.
"I know that you're strong." She said. She took a moment to look around and thankfully not that many students were around to hear them.
Clark heard her and he slowed his walking; Chloe saw that she had him and so she continued, "I know what you did during those Tornadoes…..which were no accident by the way. And I know that you're fast, like super fast and I know…"
Clark whipped around.
"YOU DON'T!" he started to shout before he realized where he was and lowered his voice "You don't know anything Chloe. So please stop hounding me."
"I'm not hounding you Clark; I'm trying to help you."
"Help me how?"
"I'm trying to get you to realize that you're not alone. There are more of us out there but they know about us."
Clark considered her words carefully for a second.
'Her heart hasn't changed for a second…either she's a good liar or maybe she's telling the truth. If she knows about me then maybe…maybe she's an alien too. She says she's just like me, she's different'
"Are you really different?" he asked suddenly
"Yes." She answered.
Clark listened for her heart and he didn't hear any abnormal thumping, he didn't hear anything that told him that she was lying. He looked at her and he looked into her big blue eyes and the only thing that he saw was sincerity. She was being genuine with him and that made him want to trust her.
"What do you want from me Chloe?"
"…..nothing, I just want to let you know that there are others like you in the world. And I wanted to warn you about…..about an organization named Veritas and..."
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Went the sound of the bell.
Clark shifted the book bag on his shoulder and he looked around as the students began to file into the hallway. He stepped a bit closer to Chloe.
"Thanks…you've warned me. Bye." He said before slipping past her and walking towards the side exit.
Chloe furrowed her brows and continued after him again.
"CLARK WAIT!" she shouted but he only walked away from her faster, "CLARK!"
Chloe increased her pace trying her best to maneuver through the growing crowd and towards Clark who had reached the double door side exit. Chloe lightly shoved a teen her age away and she rushed to the doors.
Outside
Chloe exited the school and she looked to the left and the right but she didn't see any sign of Clark, he was gone.
"Dammit Clark, you don't know how dangerous these people are." She whispered to herself while folding her arms across her chest.
Salem, Wisconsin
BAMMMM! Went the sound of a door being kicked open by a heavy footed black clad solider. The soldier entered the modest one story home and he was quickly followed by a dozen other fully loaded and armed soldiers.
The soldiers stormed into the small house searching for any signs of a threat but to their surprise they didn't see anything. They moved further into the house and towards the living room but upon entering the barely furnished living room they came to a stop because the only occupant in the room was a sleeping elderly man in his late 80s hooked onto an oxygen tank.
The soldiers walked up to the elderly man and stared at him for a second before looking towards the TV he was facing and eying the cartoons playing on the screen. The armed men looked at each other for a second and then one of the reached towards the ear piece in his ear.
"Control…I think there's been a mistake."

"WHAT!" Alexandra shouted "IM-IMPOSSIBLE! I DID THE TRACE MYSELF WHOEVER HACKED US IS IN THAT HOUSE! WATCHTOWER IS THERE! KEEP LOOKING!" she yelled at the soldier over the line.
"Yes Ma'am" the soldier replied
Alexandra took her hand off of the intercom panel and she angrily folded her arms across her chest.
"Careful my daughter anger will get you nowhere." Came the smug voice of her father from behind her.
Alexandra slowly glanced over her shoulder and stared daggers at her father but he held her gaze.
"Shut up father."
"Apparently you're not as smart as you believe yourself to be if this Watchtower managed to out hack you."
"Whoever Watchtower is didn't out hack me….I underestimated their cleverness. A mistake I will not make again."
"Oh, you have a plan do you?" Dr. Shugel responded.
"A plan is forming yes but it involves something that you and I both hate especially when it comes to what we want."
"Which is what?" Dr. Shugel asked.
"Patience" she answered simply.
Kent Family Farm
Clark dug his feet into the ground and he came to a sudden halt in front of the back door to his home. He quickly walked up the steps and through the back door.
Inside
"MOM! DAD!" he shouted.
Clark stood in the kitchen for a few seconds before Jonathan and Martha came down the steps and into the kitchen both surprised to see him.
"Clark! Where have you been all night?" Martha asked while rushing towards him, she tried to hug him but he stopped her.
"I needed some time to think about what you told me, but I have to ask you both something."
"What is it son?" Jonathan asked.
"Did the two of you only find me in that field…was there any other aliens with me or…could any other aliens have landed in Smallville." He asked hurriedly with hopeful eyes.
Martha and Jonathan both recoiled a little at his questions, they glanced at each other for a split second before turning back to him.
"Son you were the only one in the field that night." Jonathan answered "There were no other spaceships."
"But how do you know?" he asked hurriedly.
Jonathan and Martha both looked at him with a confused look.
"I think we would have noticed another spaceship Clark."
"Where is this coming from?" Martha asked.
Clark looked at his mother for a long second before he started to answer her question.
"I just met this girl at school…says her name is Chloe Sullivan and she says she's just like me, that she's different. I think she might be an alien too."
"What!" Jonathan and Martha replied at the same time.
"I met a girl who…"
"Clark we heard what you said but…..did you tell her you were an alien?" Martha asked worriedly.
"No. Well not exactly."
"What does that mean?"
"It means she kinda told me that she knew about me and how I wasn't normal and I didn't exactly deny what she said." Clark answered truthfully.
Jonathan let out a frustrated sigh and he went towards his son.
"Clark we didn't tell you this so you can go tell everyone at your school."
"It wasn't everyone just one girl."
"She could be lying Clark or…or you might have misunderstood what she said." Johnathan continued.
"No, I listened to her heart." He said.
"And what does that have to do with anything?" Jonathan asked
"It means I can tell when people are lying to me and she wasn't lying she was telling the truth about being different like me. That's why I wanted know if maybe by some chance another alien landed on earth, just like I did."
Martha reached up towards Clark and gently placed her hands on his cheek and turned his head so he was looking directly at her.
"Clark, my son there is no one else on this Earth like you." She said slowly and deliberately, "No one, so whatever this girl is filling your head with is something you should ignore."
"But mom, how do you know, maybe I'm not the only Alien here. Maybe during the meteor shower another ship landed. You don't know Mom." He said "You just don't know" he finished in an exasperated tone.
Jonathan pursed his lips together and shook his head.
"Fine, you're right son…we don't know. Maybe you aren't the only alien on the earth" Jonathan chimed "But the thing is I don't care about other aliens, all I care about is you. Like your mother said you should ignore this girl. You don't know who she is or what her angel is, but more importantly. This part of you, this powerful part of you…..is something that you have to keep secret. You'll have to keep it locked away."
"Why?"
"Because the world is not ready for someone like you yet, so far we've been lucky that every time one of your powers manifested you've been here on the farm…secluded, but if the world found out that someone like you…someone with your capabilities existed they would turn on you in an instant. They would reject you or worse…try to kill you."
Clark looked between both of his parents and he took a step back away from both of them and he turned around heaving a heavy sigh. He briefly mulled over what his parents were saying and despite the fact that he hoping they would see things from his side he could see that they had a point. He wasn't stupid, and he knew that if anyone found about the things he could do then it could potentially be bad. He wanted to believe that he wasn't alone that Chloe was just like him, an alien, and he wanted to prove it to them.
'They're right…..but….but what if Chloe is like me…what if she landed here or the others she was talking about are like me. How do I prove that…the crystals' he thought to himself suddenly, but his thoughts were broken by the sound of his mother's voice.
"Clark"
"…"
"Clark" Martha called again.
"You're right okay…..you're right." He said in a whisper before he lowered his head and shoulders.
Martha could see how sad he was and she took a step to him but in an instant he was gone with only a swoosh of wind to indicate he had disappeared. Jonathan and Martha looked around for a second but they knew that he was gone.
Smallville High- Football field- Minutes Later
Clark dug his feet into the ground and came to a stop just outside of the football field of Smallville High. He held up his hands revealing one of the glowing crystals. He stared at the glowing for a second longer before putting it into his red jacket pocket.
'I have to know…am I the only alien' he thought to himself.
Clark narrowed his eyes and he focused his hearing towards the high school. The young teen shifted through the myriad of sounds and heartbeats until he found a particular heartbeat. He focused on Chloe's heart and her voice as she muttered several curse words.
Clark returned his hearing to normal and he zoomed away.
Basement- Smallville High- The Torch
Chloe growled to herself as she bent down and started picking up the stack of newspapers that had fallen on the ground. She was picking up some sheets when suddenly the wind swirled around her causing all the papers to fly up into the air.
"Crap!" she
"Sorry" came a voice.
Chloe looked up from the ground and through the swirling paper to see Clark standing there. She blinked a few times in slight amazement before standing up and putting a smile on her face.
"Did….Did you just use your super-speed?" she asked.
Clark looked at her but he didn't answer however she could see the answer written on his face.
"HA! COOL!" she exclaimed.
Clark rolled his eyes a bit and was about to respond when he looked past her and at and the far wall across the room. He saw what looked like a large Collage with snap shot photos of people and places, there were news paper articles and clippings from different newspapers, there were printed out computer pictures plus hand written notes on post its all along the wall.
Chloe followed Clark's line of sight and she looked at the wall and smiled.
"What is that…..Chloe, right"
"Yes my name is Chloe…and that Clark is my crown jewel. I call it the Wall of Weird."
"The Wall of Weird?" Clark questioned still looking at the wall, he was about to say something when he narrowed his eyes and zoomed in on a blurry picture of himself. He by-passed her and he walked towards his picture and he snatched it off of the wall and held it up to her, "What is this?"
Chloe heaved a sigh and rubbed the back of her neck.
"A picture of you….sorry it doesn't do you justice but I'm not exactly a great photographer, I'm more of a journalist."
"Why am I on your wall of weird Chloe?" he demanded.
"Because you're weird Clark" she answered truthfully.
"What?"
"You're weird, and so am I, my picture is up there too" she said walking towards the wall and snatching a photo off of the wall and holding it up to him "We're weird because we're different but that's not a bad thing though."
"Uh-huh…I think you might need help Chloe." Clark responded while crumpling his picture.
"I do need help actually but not in the way you were insinuating farmer John." She said putting her hands on her hips "This wall here is what connects you and me and everyone else that's out there with abilities."
As the words left her mouth Clark sucked in a breath; he listened to her heart and it was steady and calm.
"Yeah, abilities" he said slowly.
"I know you have abilities Clark"
"…...do you have any abilities?" He asked ignoring her statement.
"I told you I'm smart."
Clark looked at her and she could see the non-believing look on his face. Chloe let out a sigh and shook her head.
"I know it's not the most flashy ability like…super-speed or…or crazy super-strength, but it's mine and I love it."
"And it's easy to manipulate." Clark said under his breath but Chloe heard it loud and clear.
The blonde girl narrowed her eyes.
"You don't believe me." She stated more than asked.
"All I'm saying is that…and this is no admission. If I did have…abilities…and showed you and I asked you to do the same thing you…being smart is very convenient."
Chloe pursed her lips together and turned away from him and she grabbed a book that was on the ground. She opened the book and she speedily flipped through the pages. Clark watched her intently and after about a minute or two she turned the last page and closed the book and then tossed it to him. He easily caught the book.
"Page 1" Chloe said out loud "The young man slowly crawled from the smoking wreckage that was once his great ship…." She continued.
Clark heard her rattling off the words and turned the book over to the front and he opened it and looked at page one. On the page were the words and Chloe was reciting them verbatim. He turned page just as she started on the next page and started to recite each word.
Clark closed the book and turned away from her.
"You've probably read this book before" he challenged.
"NO I HAVEN'T!" she shouted.
Clark looked at her and the indignant look on her face; he looked past her for a second and then pointed.
"Hey what's that?" he asked
Chloe turned around and looked to where he was pointing and that's when Clark moved.
He ran at super-speed out of the basement and up the stairs and down the hall of the crowded Smallville High. He maneuvered through the seemingly frozen students and teachers and towards the library. He ran through the library grabbing several books from every section and once he had enough he ran out of the library and back towards the basement.
Basement
"I don't see anything"
Chloe turned around in time to see Clark standing there with several books in his hand. She looked at him and then at the gust of wind that blowing all her papers on the floor again.
"Okay…prove it again" Clark said tossing her a book.

"Nice work Alexandra."
"Of course; the only thing now is that we wait."
Nevada- Motel De Casa
Dr. Virgil Swann directed his chair through the rundown and seedy looking motel. He eyed a few of the individuals but he paid them no mind as he quickly reached the room he had rented for himself. He reached his room door and he lifted up the key and put it in the lock and turned the knob.
Once inside the Motel Dr. Swann quickly closed the door, locked it and then rolled towards the wooden desk to the right of him. He quickly took the laptop off of his lap and he placed it on the wooden desk and opened it.
The computer booted up and once the ready screen was on he let out a deep breath and he began to type.
Smallville- Basement
"And so without regard to himself or the people around him the feared Captain pointed forward and…."
"OKAY!" Clark shouted closing the book in his hand and placing on the desk beside him. Chloe closed her mouth and put a satisfied smile upon her face.
"I told you."
Clark pursed his lips together because he now knew that she was different. He watched with his own eyes as she spent seconds flipping through the pages and then she could recall every single word in the book and repeat them back. No matter how smart a person was there was no way that was humanly possible. Clark bit his lip and then nodded his head.
"Yes"
"Yes what?" Chloe questioned.
"Yes. I'm…I'm different." He stated out loud for her to hear.
"Yeah no duh." Chloe responded "I told you Clark I saw you during the Tornado-storm. It was only a glimpse but I wasn't sure until yesterday when I saw you on the satellite feed and until Jordan touched you."
"Hold on what satellite…and who the heck is Jordan?"
Chloe shifted in her spot for a second and she let out a sigh.
"You were under surveillance…actually we're all under surveillance" Chloe said.
"WHAT!" Clark shouted.
"Calm down Clark…I mean we as a royal we, not the two of us right now, at least not as long as I have my laptop running my state of the art anti-satellite surveillance software program." She said pointing towards her laptop.
Clark turned towards her laptop and he looked at it for a long second before slowly turning back to the very weird girl in front of him.
"Chloe…why don't you explain all of this to me from the beginning. And how about you explain this wall of weird stuff too."
Chloe nodded her head.
"Okay…from the beginning. About fifteen…almost sixteen years ago, there was a meteor shower."
"The one over Smallville." Said Clark
"Yes, but Smallville wasn't the only place the meteor shower hit. It turns out meteors touchdown all across the globe. Now here's the part that ties you, me and the whole wall of weird together. I believe that the meteors that crashed down to the earth were a Catalyst for an event that I'm calling Meta-X."
"Meta-X?" Clark questioned with a raised eyebrow "Why?"
"Because in the past fifteen years people with abilities…strange abilities have been popping up. That's what the wall of weird is…a time line tracing all of the influx of Meta-X or better yet…Meta-Humans across the Earth." She answered while walking over towards the wall of weird.
Clark followed her to beginning of the wall were he saw a crude drawings of meteors as well as several news reports of meteors falling. Clark scanned the next segment of the wall were he saw different tabloid clippings of a young twenty something man being called the Fastest man alive. He continued to look at the wall where he saw dozens more clippings some from newspapers of other individuals with strange abilities. Most of the clippings were from tabloids or inquisitors but a few were from legitimate newspapers. And each clipping had notes or post-it's on it with notes that Chloe had left for herself.
"This is crazy." Clark whispered after a second.
"Crazy weird" Chloe corrected, "I first noticed that I was a Meta-Human when I was nine. And it creeped me the heck out but I learned to embrace it after I met someone who…completely changed my way of thinking." Said Chloe as she followed Clark across the wall of weird.
"And who was that?" Clark asked.
Chloe smirked a little and moved passed him and towards a picture of an elderly looking woman. She took the picture off of the wall and she looked at it with a far away look in her eyes.
"Her name was Cassandra Carver." Chloe answered, "A strange old woman who lived in a nursing home in town. I met her in the park one day."
"And what's her meta-human ability?" asked Clark while he was standing right behind her.
"She was a seer. She could predict the future and she….she told me that….."
Chloe's voice droned on but Clark wasn't listening, the young teen could only focus on the wall of weird and Chloe's words to him. The people on the wall were human and according to her had been affected by meteors. He scanned every section of the wall hoping to see a slight mention of something strange landing like another spaceship. Even if the government took his ship they couldn't have taken all the ships that may have landed, some were bound to have landed in public places but he didn't see anything about a spaceship just the meteors which led him to believe that maybe they weren't alike as he had been hoping.
Clark turned his eyes towards Chloe's back; she was still talking completely unaware that he was not listening. He looked at her for a second before looking towards his coat pocket and touched his coat pocket and he felt the wrapped green crystal shard.
'I wonder' he started to think 'If she is an alien like me or is she just a human…a meta-human but a human all the same' he finished.
Clark slowly reached into his pocket and he grabbed the wrapped green crystal and he took it out and unwrapped it; a green glow sparkled before him because of its close proximity to him.

Nevada- Motel
Dr. Swann's index finger hovered over the enter key on his laptop. He hesitated for a second and he let his great mind go over what he was about to do.
"This is the right thing to do…I know it is….I know it" he said to himself before hit the enter key. He then linked his hands together and pursed his lips together and nodded his head.
"The rest is up to you now J'onn, I hope you succeed."
Smallville High- Basement
'I have to know' he thought.
"Hey Chloe"
Chloe stopped her talking and she turned around
"Yea…" she started before Clark tossed a slightly glowing crystal towards her, she caught the crystal and it quickly stopped glowing, "Whoa…what the heck is this?" she asked.
Clark's face and heart fell when he didn't see the glow and it was then that he received his answer.
"Human." he whispered, he hung his head and he moved towards Chloe and he grabbed the crystal from her the glow started back and her eyes widen, "This was a waste of time." He stated while wrapping the crystal back in the cloth and shoving it into his pocket.
Chloe shook her head and looked at him with a confused look.
"Waste of time…Clark you're missing the big picture here. Meta-humans are popping up more and more to the point where it's noticeable. The governments around the world…Veritas….people like us are being hunted and abduct…"
"Chloe look I gotta go okay" Clark interrupted, "I….I'm sorry I stopped by. You and I are not alike."
"Yes we are."
"NO!" Clark shouted catching her off guard by his frustrated tone "No we are not alike okay, so just drop it."
"I can't just drop it!" Chloe suddenly shouted back equaling frustrated "My friend Cassandra died over this…..don't you understand. I'm trying to warn you about what you're in for…what we're all in for and if we're going to survive we need to stick together."
Clark heard her but he wasn't listening he was too focused on the fact that he had made a mistake in thinking that there were other aliens like himself. He was hoping that Chloe was going to tell him that she was an alien as well but now actually thinking about it he realized how completely and utterly stupid he had been, how farfetched the idea even was to begin with; he had revealed himself to someone he hardly knew in hopes that she too was an alien.
"Do you hear me Clark we need…."
"No Chloe" he interrupted again "There is no we…there is a you and there is a me and I'm gone." He said before he zoomed away in a gust of wind leaving a dumbfounded Chloe Sullivan in his wake.
Chloe looked around to see that he was gone and she banged her fist on the wall of weird.
"Damn" she growled.
PING! PING! PING! Came a sound.
Chloe heard the sound and she turned towards her laptop and she quickly ran over to it and hit the space bar. The screen came up and immediately upon seeing her eyes widen in fear.
"OH NO!" she shouted

In the heavily guard underground containment cell the green Martian known as J'onn lifted his head and he eyed the lights above him. He stared at them for a long second and a small smile appeared upon his face when he saw the lights begin to flicker. They flickered and flickered until they suddenly shut off and red lights filled his chamber.
'Dr. Swann has deactivated the magnetic field…I only have a few seconds before the power reactivates.' He thought to himself.
J'onn raised his head and his eyes glowed.
Smallville
Clark ran; he didn't have a particular direction or any particular destination, all he knew, all he focused on was moving forward. The last day and a half has been a challenge for him to overcome. He had learned that he was an alien from outer space and his parents weren't even his real parents. His mind was a mess of confusion and anxiousness, and whenever he felt like that he did the only thing that brought him solace, he ran.
The powerful young teen barreled through the large wheat field; he knew that he was nearing the Smallville limit and soon he would be heading into the next town but he didn't care. He continued on going faster but just as he neared the end of the wheat field an unyielding force struck his mind and dozens of strange images passed through his mind's eye causing him pain because of its sudden emergence.
"ARGHHHHHHHHHH!" Clark yelled in agony as he grabbed his head. The force that invaded his mind caused him to loose focus and he tripped over his own feet. He fell and hit the ground in a spectacular tumble; little pieces of the ground were uprooted because of him scraping the ground so hard.
Clark bounced along for a few feet until he cleared the wheat field and skimmed across the asphalt of the main road going into Smallville. The teen let out several breaths because as suddenly as the feeling in his mind came it disappeared.
"What the he…." He started before he heard the sound of a horn.
HONNK! HONKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
Clark turned his head to see a long Oil Truck honking at him. The truck swerved out of the way so as not to hit him and it went directly for a utility power line pole.
BAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Went the sound of the truck hitting the pole and cracking it in half.
Clark watched in horror as the utility pole went falling down right towards a little diner called Tina's. The pole crashed through the middle of the diner and let out several violent sparks of electricity. The oil truck continued to swerve until tilted over onto it's side and slide across the asphalt of the diner's parking lot knocking over several cars and two pick up trucks.
"Oh My God" Clark whispered leaning up a little from is spot on the ground.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!' came the screams from the people trapped inside of the diner. The sparks of electricity from the utility pole preventing them from escaping the diner in fear of being electrocuted.
"HEELLLPP! HELLLPP! I'M STUCK!" came a loud shout from the overturned oil truck.
Clark pushed himself up from the ground and he eyed the truck and then the diner.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH! HELP! HELP!" came several more screams from the diner.
Clark pursed his lips together as he stood there, he sucked in a few breaths and he looked down at his hands for a second. He then thought back to Friday and how he had saved his parents, Pete, Lana and several others from the Tornadoes. In thinking back to that day a sense of determination filled him and that determination pushed aside all of his earlier feelings of confusion and anxiety and he acted.
Clark lifted his head and zoomed towards Tina's diner.
Clark stopped at the broken end of the utility pole that had crashed through the diner. He looked to see that the patrons of Tina's diner were huddled towards the right side of the diner which had no exit.
Clark heaved a sigh and he wrapped his arms around the broken end of the pole. He grunted in exertion as he used his great strength to lift the downed pole that was sparking wildly with electricity.
Tina's Diner
The people in the diner were screaming in fear of the electricity that was shooting everywhere but the screaming died down when they all saw a figure standing just outside the crumbled wall the utility pole crashed through. They saw him grab end of the pole and slowly the pole began to rise up.
Clark grunted but he held onto the pole and he began to take several steps backward. He gritted his teeth against the weight, it was heavy but he knew he could handle it, he continued to back up until the pole was completely out of the diner and the hanging and sparking wires were outside and dragging on the ground.
The young teen curled his lips as he stopped and then turned his body to the left, swinging the wires away from the diner and towards the empty section of the parking lot. Clark released the pole from his grip.
THUD! Went the sound of it hitting the ground.
Clark then turned back to the diner to see that people were safe, but his attention was quickly brought away from them as a smell infiltrated his nose.
SNIFF! SNIFF! SNIFF! Clark smelled the leaking fuel like it was right against his nose. He turned towards the over turned oil truck just in time to see the emergence of flames coming from the spewing fuel line from under the truck.
"HELLLP!" came a scream from inside the truck. He could hear that the driver was still stuck inside.
Clark gasped as he saw the fire spreading; he narrowed his eyes and he moved at super-speed.
Clark ran forward and as he was moving he looked at the spreading fire to see it was steadily moving but luckily he was moving faster. He reached the truck and he jumped towards the driver's side.
The teen landed on the driver's side door and he reached down and sunk his fingers into the metal and with a slight tug he easily ripped the door off of the hinges and tossed it away.
Clark looked up for a split second to see fire rising up over the back end of the oil truck. He looked down at the frozen in fear face of the truck driver. Clark reached down towards him and ripped his seat belt off of him and then grabbed him by the arm and tossed him away from the truck.
The truck driver went rolling across the asphalt to safety; he looked around in fear for a second but he quickly turned his attention back to his truck to see Clark standing on the side looking at him just as it went up in a giant explosion.
