Chapter 11:Surprise

(Spyro)

Flying towards the small little town I had began to think. We had saved so many from being corrupted but at what cost. Most of us are to battered to even fight Malefor let alone even be in the same area as him.

Burn keeps saying he is fine but I find it hard to believe. I mean we had fought so much and he has been injured a lot of time to many to count. Yet he just get back up and continues to fight.

I give him credit for being brave. And for the fact that no mater how many time he gets beaten down he manages to get back up and start fighting again to keep himself motivated.

I thought this as we reached the scene of the town. 2 homes were burned down and 5 others still on fire. We moved to were the dark dragons were only to see that they were standing there looking and talking to each other.

It seems that what ever they had come here for they didn't find. But that didn't mean me or Burn was going to let them get away with murder and burning down peoples homes.

"Ok jeez look you four if your gonna have a talk go have it were people like us can't find you" Burn said. He was out in the open and the $ dark dragons looked at him like he was nuts.

"your either the most foolish or most bravest dragon we have seen to go up against us by your self." The far left one said. "Who said he was alone." I said walking next to him.

At this point things were getting to exciting but I was sure Burn had a plan cooking in that head of his. "We are here to make you pay for burning this place. No one gets away with harming innocents not even Malefor's goons." Burn said.

"GRR watch what you say you might end up regretting it."The center right one said. "The only thing i regret is not being able to smash Malefor's face in myself so you four better be ready." Burn said.

The four dark dragons came at us both and we went at them. Seeing as how it was two against one for the both of us I didn't like our odds. But what surprised me was right at the start Burn managed to take one down and start fighting the other.

He was mad about what I didn't know but I felt like just letting him blow off some steam. As for my two well I had managed to knock one out in the time it took me to reach them. Fire balls are really handy.

But as we reached I Grabbed him by his leg and brought him to the ground using my tail to whack him hard as he was on the ground. I then spun around and used my claws to rip at his chest.

He managed to get up but he had a bad gash on his chest. He then took a steady breath and blew a black flame at me. I shielded myself with my wings and when he finished went in and head butted him against the wall.

As I looked up he had a puncture in his side from one of my horns. "your going to regret that." He said. He grabbed my tail and yanked it. I yelped in pain as we landed a scratch across my face.

(Corbin)

They just took off with out me. But what they didn't know was that I was following them this whole time. I mean I may be human again but I can run pretty fast when I want to.

I watched as they clashed with four dark dragons cutting them down to two. But Spyro seemed to be losing his edge at a certain point. I looked around and I realized this was a cheetahs village.

The only reason I knew was because I found dead ones a few feet away from a burning house. I noticed one had a sharp weapon. What I could possibly call a machete. I picked it up and it was actually a sword big enough for a cheetah. A little small but not that much for me.

I didn't know why but I had to help. I couldn't just stand here doing nothing. I had to help out. They were both fighting hard and Spyro wasn't going to get any help. I charged and slashed at the ones leg.

He screamed in pain and looked down. It have spyro the chance to land another hit across the cheek. I went under and slashed across the belly underneath and rolled out before he could smash me under him.

I then shoved it down into his paw and jumped off as he held it screaming in pain. I watched as Spyro once again did a head butt to it smashing him to the ground. When he got up I could tell the dark dragon was dead.

I turned and looked at Burn's fight seeing it was going well. I still decided to lend a hand to it thou. I mean how could I miss a chance to fight like this it was fun. I went in and landed a good strike across its leg.

But it just kept fighting. "You will pay for killing two of my companions you insignificant grunts." The dark dragon said. Burn landed a cut across its face and shoved his tail straight into the chest While I went under and cute and the belly again.

The dark dragon stopped moving and we moved away as it fell to the ground dead. I looked at the last one as it regained consciousness looking at his dead friends.

"Listen good and listen carefully" Spyro said. "Tell your master that we are back. And tell him that we wont let him win ever. And trust me you better do as we say or I will have my small friend here cut you to piece's" Burn said.

That must have scared him because the Dark dragon took off into the sky running like the coward he is. "Corbin that was a stupid move but i am glad you did it. We wouldn't have been able to win if you hadn't come in time." Burn said.

I smiled. "Well you could say I kept a few traits when I was freed from Malefor's control. One of them being the love of fighting something when I know I can win against it." I said.

(Burn)

We just laughed after Corbin said it. I knew he was serious but I just had to laugh. "Come on lets get back to the others. We need to reach War-Fang by tonight so we can rest and help for the upcoming battle.

Spyro looks at me as we start walking back. "Ever since Malefor's return we have been fighting none stop so we can end his rule for good. I just don't understand this. You keep getting back into the fight no matter how bad you are hurt" Spyro said.

"thats simple. I don't want to sit around not doing any thing while others fight battles risking every thing and leaving me to wonder if they survived or not. I mean yes I have a family about to come into my life but I need to protect them as best I can while they are still around." I said.

"I can understand that. But just promise me you'll be careful. Winter loves you and she wont be able to handle you leaving. I don't think any body could handle it." Spyro said.

We reached the others and we all made for the city. I knew that once we were back I was going to spend a ;long time with Winter. I had been away so many times I think she deserves a few days with me.
