Chapter 12: relaxing

Things could have gone wrong like they had been for the past few days. I could have lost the only person i felt i belonged with and i could have ended up alone rasing our two little ones my self.

But for once good luck has actually come. Burn is resting by the fire place and Spyro and Cynder are talking to the guardians. *Flame and Ember are sitting at the entrance of our home with each other and Crack is sitting by his soon to be siblings.

Every thing is in a calm state for once. And I am relaxed by it. But what worries me is that Corbin is still a little upset about something and i plan to find out what it is he is upset about. I have never seen a person in a more depressed state when things are supposed to be better then they were.

I walk out side and lookd for Corbin only to find him by a tree "Corbin you mind if we talk." I said. "Whats there to talk about seems like every thing has been put right well almost every thing" Corbin said. I knew what he was refering to. Kyle and Emily had to go back to the human world.

They were dead in this relm so the human world was the only place they could stay. I mean yes we could bring them here to visit and see Burn every now and again but they didn't belong here any more.

There jobs here were done and they did what they could. even if it ment Crack had to grow up with the notion that his parents werent ever coming home. "Corbin what happened wasn't really your doing. Malefor had control over you." I said.

"Winter it wasn't that i was under his control it's that i sorta liked doing what I was doing. The only thing i regret was i didn't do it for the right side. I killed to of your friends and i dont think i can ever live that down." Corbin said.

"Corbim listen. We knew you weren't in control in fact we knew things were far from good. But we still never gave up on you and we never blaimed you for the deaths of our friends. We knew deep down you wouldn't ever do that." I said.

"Try telling River that. He has hardly ever said a word to me since my return. And hes the only friend i have left in this relm. I dont think he even wants to be seen near shadow the dark destroyer." Corbin said.

"Corbin we still value you as a true and good friend. We care for you and are very happy that you have returned. It gives us a chance to fight Malefor on fair terms. He thinks he has won just because he has a big enough army. He forgets that no matter what happens we still fight with every thing we have to win even if it costs us our lives." I said.

"Malefor plans on you guys fighting. He wants you all to watch as he kills Burn and Spyro. Burn doesn't know it but after he was freed Some of malefor's powers went into him. He is probably the only fire dragon in history that can breath all elements he just doesn't know it." Corbin said.

I looked at him shocked but smiled. "Well then thats just another weapon that we can use against Malefor. We can take this fight striaght to him and we can win. Now relax take a breath. It will be a long time before we can be calm like this again. We have earned at least one night of rest and relaxing." I said. Corbin nodded.

I started walking back when I saw burn walking my way. *Its good to see that your up and about* I said. He nodded. "I want to go talk to /corbin if it is ok with you." He said. "Go ahead he needs a friend right now and i think that friend is you." I nuzzled his cheek and went back into our home.

After Winter left I stood starring at the starry sky. Ever since i was freed I felt like .I still had some of that darkness inside of me. I just was to afraid to tell any one about it. what hurts even more is that my best friend from collage was not even talking to me.

I just stare at the sky thinking that some were out there in this vast relm was our home. I realized that now our worlds were fully merged into one. Malefor had completed his task and it was paying off in a bad way for a lot of us.

I knew that we had taken 25% of the human population from our world and turned them into Malefor's dark army. There were some that risited and were trapped as Dark dragons until the dark master was defeated.

I just sighed and kept looking at the sky not hearing Burn come up. I didn't know until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see Burn in his human form there. "What you want River." I said.

"I came to appologize for being so distant from you. I know you just wanted to patch things up I was just getting over a few things that had happened is all. I had been fighting shadow for so long. I was just waiting for him to take over again." River said.

I looked at him. "So your still upset about all that has happened then." I said. "No far from it. I knew you never would do things like that. Malefor made you do thse evil things. You should know from collahe by now from all the pranks you pulled on me. I'm a forgivable person. And I never leave a friend behind never." River said.

I looked at him and smiled "You always did have away to make a person smile even in there darkest of times don't you" I said. He just gave me that goofy smile." Yes I do now get back and rest Im gonna head to the temple to talk to Spyro for a bit." River said.

I noddded and started walking towards His and winters home. I was happy to know that my old friend isn't mad at me for every thing that happened. I guess i needed a little talk was all.

(Burn)

After I talked with Corbin I went back to the temple and saw Spyro waiting at the gate. "Figured you would come here" Spyro said. "Is it that obvious to see?" I asked. "Yep" He said.

"So then why are you waiting out here for me im the first place Spyro?" I asked. "well judging from your mood that you were in when we finally got back to War-Fang. You want to try and get stronger and the temple has the only training location we have." Spyro said.

"Seems I am that easy to read then." I said. To be honest I dont blame you but you do need to relax and spend time with Winter" You may never know when your last day is and when you'll fall." Spyro said.

"I know but I can't help but think I can do more. I mean I can't breath all Elements like you can but I know with some practise I can get stronger and protect my family and friends." I said. "hahahaha Burn if you plan on training I can't stop you but I can join you." Spyro said.

"What about Cynder?" I said. "She is already there waiting. She had a feeling I wasn't going to be able to change your mind so she went to wait in case. Its always better to practise with friends then it is to do it alone." Spyro said.

"Well ok then." I said. At that point we start making our way there and I just look ayt Spyro. "Spyro you ever think that what your doing isn't good enough and that you might let the others down when they depend on you?" I asked.

He looked at me. "when all this frist started. I did believe it at first. But then I came to terms with my destiny. If I was going to do what must be done I was going to do it with all my power. Plus I had Cynder by my side so it was easy to do." Spyro said.

I laughed at that last part. "Seems you two made a great team when you beat Malefor." I said. "Yeah well it seems we didn't do a good enough job at it. Because now he came back and he has a stronger advantage then he had before." Spyro said.

Hey no matter what happened we can beat him again." I said. It was then that we walked into the training hall. "You two ready to start or are you both just going to be talking up a storm all day?" Cynder said. I laughed again. "Lets start I need to get better for my friends" I said.
