Chapter 15: New face

(Flame)

It was a little concerning the events that took place over the past few days. Burn having unlocked a couple breaths and The big talk with Spyro and the gang about how things need to be taken when the time comes.

Things just seemed to be going out of control. No one knew when Malefor was going to strike. It was a mystery. But intel that type it was decided a long time ago that there would be a dragon on gate patrol at all times. No one argued.

It was my turn today and I had heard that some guards had trouble here and there. It was rare but some dragons had complaints of a dragon causing trouble. Mainly with them. I found it funny.

It was never normal when we got the complaints but it didn't bother me. Heck if I wasn't stuck helping with this war effort I would have probably pulled a few tricks on the gate guards myself.

But to be honest I think what the mystery dragon is doing is keeping us from keeping an eye out for Malefor. It wasn't going to be long until Malefor struck again. I wasn't going to let him strike today.

Course even as I said that no luck at all. After a long period of silence I heard rustling in the bushes below. Something was there. I kept and eye on it when I saw something fly out of it.

"What in the!" Was all I could say. I jumped down and started giving chase to who ever or whatever it was. I wasn't going to risk this being a spy and have hime get away. I was going to get'em.

After a bit of the chase I realized we never left the sight of the wall. And I also forgot not to take my eyes of the target. I looked back ahead to realize what I was chasing was gone. But how thou.

I looked all around to make sure I could fine any clues. I was about to turn around when I saw what looked like a worn in path. somebody's walked here way to much for that not to be noticeable.

I follow it till I come up to a home beside the wall. Of all the times I have traveled this wall I have never seen a home near it. Somebody lived here and by the looks of things they have been for a while.

Who ever lived here was obviously not new to the recent events it looks like they had been fighting off a few advances on them. I could tell by the holes around the property. Something didn't seem right thou.

I walked forward to the door way. I wasn't planning on any one being here but what happened next I wish hadn't. I was jumped on by a blur and next thing I know I was on the ground with a Feather shaped tail blade against my neck.

"WHOA! WHOA! FRIENDLY NO NEED TO KILL" I screamed. The dragon just looked at me with a glare in its eyes. Funny thing One eye was gold the other was some kind of blue. The main color of his scales was brown and the second was dark blue.

I had no idea who this person was and I didn't think I wanted to find out. "Talk What are you doing near my home." He said pressing the tail blade against my throat. "Look I am just patrolling the area. If you hadn't noticed War-fang has been in danger for the past few days." I said.

He looked at me a moment. "What do you mean by that. I haven't seen an ape in a long time." The dragon said. "Thats because Malefor's not using apes this time. He's making a dark dragon army and its coming over here." I said.

"Heck Spyro and Burn have faced many of them already. And every time one of them has come out hurt." I said. "Dark dragons. Your kidding me right?" He said. "Nope 3 of my friends were turned and we got them back but believe me it was hard fighting." I said.

"Look um why don't you follow me into the city um whats your name?" I asked. "My names Willow if you want to know." Willow said. "Ok Willow. Lets get you into town that way your safe." I said.

"Ill go into town with yeah but i'm not leaving my home." Willow said. "Ok ok lets just go then." I said. Hopefully I can get this guy into the city before any of Malefor's goons show up.

(Burn)

It was still sun out by the time I was heading to the wall. I was going to get Flame off of guard duty and take his place. I mean I already had Electricity and Earth learned.

But I needed a little break from all that element breath learning. It is a little tough one you when you have to learn new breaths. Its just like learning a new language back home.

It gets very difficult. I sometimes feel like I am trying to learn a brand new language even thou I don't feel I need to. But then again I needed every breath I had to beat Malefor.

I looked ahead of me at this point to see Flame coming with a Dragon I have never met before. "Flame who's this." I said. "Burn this is Willow he was living outside the wall." Flame said.

"Willow. well thats an odd name." I said. "Whats so odd about it?" Willow said looking angry. "Nothing nothing. Welcome to War-Fang hopefully you didn't get in trouble by Malefor's army." I said.

"Think again Burn this guys got all kinds of holes and burn marks around his home were I found him. Looks like he was fighting his own little private war with Malefor and he was winning to." Flame said.

"Well then please try and help in any way you can if you wish to Willow. Were in a position were we can use all the help we can get." I said. And it was true we were going to need a lot of help at this point.
