Chapter 16: Taken

(Ember)

I hadn't visited Winter and Burn in a long time and I thought I could take Winter out on a what did she call it Girls night out. Even thou it was day it didn't matter really. I wanted to hang out with a friend like when we were kids.

I Know Burn has been practicing his new breaths fro weeks and just 3 days ago a knew guy shows up. So things weren't going to be easy for them because of the planning and running around that was about to be done.

I walked up to were Winter and Burn lived and walked inside. "Hey any body in here?" I said. "In the front" I heard Winter shout. I went into the front and smiled. "Well isn't that cute a Mother looking after her eggs." I said.

I had walked in on Winter curled around her two eggs by a fire keeping them warm. "You look so happy right now winter." I said laying next to her. "I am. I never though I would be a mom or that I would have a mate as great as Burn." Winter said.

"Well I came to ask an old friend if she wants to go on a little walk with me for a little." I said. "I would love to. Besides Burn will be busy learning his last breath before Darkness." Winter said.

With that we both got up and walked outside of the house. We smiled as we walked around town watching people enjoy what they can of there peaceful life. They all knew this attack was coming and every person was ready to fight.

But what I was focusing on right now was this little time with one of my last good friends before the big attack arrives. "Winter I know its crazy but lets go into the woods. Your mates busy and mines Busy with Crack" I said.

Winter looked at me for a second like she was thinking on weather or not I was crazy. I mean I know the woods have been dangerous since the war started but It was something exciting and I needed that right now.

It took a while for her to think but she nodded. "Its better then staying in this town for any longer." Winter said. Hearing that I new she was as bored as I was of waiting for this attack to happen when it was going to be a while before it happened.

I smiled at Winter as we walked out the gate into the forest. "See its been so lone since I got to see it. Since Malefor's return places like this have become to dangerous for us to even think about setting a claw in." I said.

"I know seems like this war has been going on for far to long. He either needs to give up or disappear to another world." Winter said. I looked at her and smiled. It would sure been a good thing if that happened.

(Winter)

It was really nice out here. I mean there was nothing to really be scared of just the beauty of nature and how life just came to light around us. It seemed like the whole world was at a state of peace when it really wasn't.

We walked for a bit longer trying to relax taking in all the beauty around us. It has been a long times since we could do this and I am happy we were able to today. It was so nice.

We just kept going down the west path to admire the flowers that had been growing there since the first time me and burn ever arrived in this world so long ago. "Ember can I tell you something." I said.

"Sure Winter you know you can tell me what ever you want." Ember said. I smiled. "Well me and Burn have been talking. And he made up his mind. He's staying here when this is over." I said smiling.

"You mean he's not going back to being a human?" Ember said. "Nope he's staying here. He said that since we have kids together its better to stay here and raise a family then going back to his life alone." I said.

"Thats great Winter. Do you have any idea when he is going to separate his human ties?." Ember said. "No but I think its as soon as Malefor is beaten." I said. I smiled. Neither of us knew i what was about to come.

After a few more steps a blast of fire hit in front of us knocking us down. 3 dragons landed right in front of us. The 2 on the left and right held me and Ember down. "Look at this 2 female dragons wandering the forest alone." The center one said.

I looked up to see none other then Malefor himself. "You what do you want!" I yelled. "That is simple Winter. To crush Spyro and your mate Burn. Or should I say River. I must say it took me a while to learn his true Identity but after we found his mother it was easy. isn't that right Star." He said to the dragon holding me down.

"Yes master." She said. I knew then it was Burn's mom. You wont get away with this Malefor. When I tell Burn you wont last the night." I said. "Silly girl do you think I silly human turned dragon can beat me. No And besides you wont be telling him any thing." Malefor said. He came up to me.

"Because you wont remember him Blizzard. You are going to be joining my army." He said. I knew what was going to happen then and I started to cry. I looked at Ember and she looked at me.

"Ember tell Burn I love him and please. Keep the eggs safe." I said. "Eggs you say that makes things more interesting. When you wake you will take me to them." He said. He brought out some kind of dark crystal and placed it on my neck.

I screamed and blew a ice ball at the dragon holding Ember down. She took off right away. "Please Ember make it." I cried before passing out. My last thought that was my own was about Burn and his smile.

(Burn)

I was looking all over the home for Winter but I couldn't find was supposed to be here watching the eggs while I finished my training with the final breath. Spyro was looking outside the home helping.

I walked out looking at him. "Do you see her anywhere?" I asked. "No I can't se her at all. I would get Flame to help me but he's busy with Crack." spyro said. I nodded in understanding.

We then heard somebody calling but our names. But we knew there was no one around here. We looked up to see Ember flying our way. But by the looks of things she was struggling to stay in the air.

She came down hard on the ground in front of me and Spyro. "Burn... Spyro... its all my fault." She said crying. "Whoa Ember slow down whats wrong." Spyro said. Ember looked at us.

"Its Malefor." She said. "WHERE!" Spyro said. "Me and Winter were walking a bit in the forest... He attacked us." She said tears coming down her eyes. "He took Winter. He made her part of his army." She said.

I was frozen. I sat down in shock. He knew she was my mate some how. "Thats not all." She said sniffing." He knows who you really are Burn. He has your mother to." I looked at spyro and he could see a tear come down my eye.

"Hey you ok Burn." He said. I started crying but then I got angry. "Spyro. Get the Guardians. This means Malefor is close. And I'm not waiting. He has messed with the wrong person. And I am going to make him pay." I said.
