To Guest Reviewer: … As much as I love mysteries I can't solve them worth a darn. Gah! You! *pout* First clue! You called me Texan! Second clue! There can only be one!

*scrunches up face*

No, there can only be two.

*snicker*

Somehow, images of something white… and soft… and fluffy are coming to mind.

Kimori Takahashi: The silence shattered. To kill or to fight, which shall it be? Tune in to find out!

*evil laugh*

Halley Vanaria: Well…. I guess you just have to wait and see.

Sesshomaru's Secret Admirer: Hey! I was being serious about that! It was a time of desperation and desperate times call for desperate measures! *signs*

And yes, I will always love you for the feels….

Sillvog: Nope, it's not going to be a head-bashing-because-Kagome-is-stupid, nope. It'll be a OMG-why-is-the-author-doing-this-to-my-feels?!.

Coldjoker: *swipes hand over forehead* Whew! Thank goodness! Lifesaver!

sakuyahime1994: Well! So glad you enjoy my writing, but unfortunately you will have to wait for my busy life to calm down some. I will try to update once a week, though I skipped last week and the week before last. So… til next time!

Demonmiko14: Hmmm, how about if 'Yohime' goes back to 'Kagome' after Rihan's death? Since I tend to lean towards canon, Kagome will not be interacting with her ayakashi family, only looking and watching over.

*bows*

Thank you! Your praise is duly noted, and it might have been printed out, framed and hung on a mental wall.

As Katsuo looked into the demonic eyes of Nurarihyon and felt the sharpness of the blade at his throat, he inwardly cursed his stupidity.

In the centuries that had passed since he left Hagoromo Gistune, he had trained and foolishly believed he would beat the ayakashi that defeated the Great Lady. His reputation had spread out, bringing powerful ayakashi and youkai to his side and he ruled them with fear. It had been too long since he had stood face-to-face with an opponent that held the potential to kill him.

In the instant after the fox had thrown up his illusions, pulled out his weapon and leapt at Nurarihyon, the ayakashi had simply disappeared. Katsuo was sure that the ayakashi was not using charms, since his weapon would burn any it came into contact with and nor was he using illusions.

But then, how?

How was it Katsuo, the Seven Tails, leader of the Seven Tails Clan, master of foxfire and illusions could not see where one pathetic ayakashi went?

"Fear is such a fickle thing, is it not?"

Whirling around at the sound of that ayakashi's mocking voice, the fox again cut through his body, only to have it fade away.

Teeth grinding, the infuriated fox placed his palm directly to his blade, spilling his blood on it's edge. A grim smile came to his face, followed quickly by determination and an insane gleam in his eyes. Then, with a single word, Katsuo swung his sword.

Nurarihyon saw the sword as it crept ever closer to his Fear-distorted body, yet it wasn't until an unearthly light appeared from the spilt blood coating the steel that he cursed.

The building erupted in red fire.

In the room containing Nurarihyon's Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, the sudden rise in power had everyone standing, but the blast of heat and the wave of fire that followed drove them out the windows and through the roof. Though none suffered serious injury, mostly mild burns, the chaotic sight that met their vision was shocking.

Screams of both humans and ayakashi rent the early morning light as the sky was dyed a chilling orange. From the thick smoke and confusion, very few humans noticed the unusual guests escaping the hot flames. Among the mingling shouts, there could be heard cries for 'Nurarihyon' and 'Commander'.

In the next few moments, a strong gust of wind blew against the burning wood, it's attempts to douse the inferno proving futile.

To the horror of gathered ayakashi and demons, the structure collapsed as the eerie red flames consumed it greedily.

Nurarihyon was no where to be seen.

Presently the sun rose above the charred remains, traveling across the sky to eventually sink back down beneath the horizon. Yet, not one ayakashi was seen arriving nor departing.

Ravens came in swarms, circling endlessly over the ground where the inn once stood, before looping outwards as if searching for something. And as night fell once again, the humans stayed indoors as strange and frightening shadows repeatedly crossed their walls.

And so, two days passed.

A week after Nurarihyon has left, at the Nura Mansion:

As Yohime and Setsura were relaxing in the mansion's hot stprings, the leaves of the Sakura Tree waved to an invisible wind and Yohime tensed.

"A stranger has entered the grounds."

Both women stood up slowly, grabbing their towels and readying their weapons. Setsura forming a spear of ice, and Yohime grabbing her bow accompanied by a quiver.

Since the bathhouse was located close to the entrance, they climbed out through the window. Thankfully, the moon was relatively bright so they could clearly make out a darkly shrouded figure before he faded entirely into the shadows.

"Yohime-chan, I want you to go to your safe room."

The safe room had be established at Nurarihyon's insistence. It was a simple room with food storages and several futons, but the walls were covered in hundreds of powerful sacred saltras, seals and barriers. The house could burn down and that room would still be standing.

The room doubled as the treasure room, library and secure storage.

"Setsura, I am the Lady of this house. You and I are the only ones who can defend our home against a high level threat. I'm not going anywhere," the stubborn miko argued.

"You're six months pregnant, we have no idea when you are giving birth! You seriously want to risk the life of your child?" she hissed lowly at Yohime.

There was a pause.

"Fine, I'll stay here, you go and confront our 'guest'."

Turning her attention back to the figure who reappeared, the Yuki-Onna quickly moved forward, weapon poised for a strike, as she prepared to defend her home.

A/N I haven't updated in two weeks. I haven't updated in two weeks. OMG I HAVEN'T FREAKING UPDATED IN TWO WEEKS! I'M AN AWFUL PERSON! I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY!

Anyways. Uh… This is the start of the end… well at least to the end of non-cannon and the beginning of connon-ish stuff… so short chapter. Yup. *nods*

ANYWAYS!

I went out and bought a birthday present for a very dear friend of mine. Our birthdays are on the same day, we've known each other since we were 8… Gosh, that was so long ago.

My, my, where did all those years vanish to?

*sigh*

Also drove about 60 miles to another state to get my glasses (which cost more than the car my dad bought me last week. Gosh why can't glasses be 10 cents a pound?).

Got lost… twice.

Very tired.

Brain shutting down…

Maybe I should go to s .l
