Chapter 20: Blizzard and Malefor

(Burn)

It was the hardest position of my life. Standing in an open field with Winter/Blizzard across from me. I had to fight her to get her back which is with out a doubt probably one of the harder things I have to do.

I looked at her and inside me I was slowly crying and screaming. I couldn't show it thou. I love her and this is going to put a very bad dent in every thing. Malefor took her and I wasn't about to let her be kept that way.

When we charged for each other every thing went in slow motion. I could see the anger on her face and a bit of sadness. I knew deep down inside Winter was there the true winter.

She didn't want to fight me. She showed affection for me even now as she is under the dark lord's control. I could see it in her eyes as we came close. Right before the collide I could see tears coming down her eyes.

She was being forced to do something Malefor knew would kill her giving him complete control. It also hurt me just to even consider this fact a reality. I was fighting my mate or in human aspect my wife.

I just couldn't break my stare from her even as every thing happened. Right before the collision I had a thought that had never struck me before. Why should I stay here if every thing will be in danger.

It wasn't a good thought but its what had come to my mind as every thing was happening. I didn't want to think it but I did. And as I watched as we got closer I dreaded the idea that i might have to kill my mate.

After a while thou the slow motion stopped and we collided. It wasn't a fight with breaths or wings. But it was a fight with claws and jaws. even our tails were involved as we fought.

It didn't take long for me to get a good grab on her neck thou. I had learned many things when fighting and this was just basics. As I locked my jaw on her neck I pinned her to the ground unaware that some one we were al after landed.

Right as I pinned Blizzard Malefor landed right behind her and next thing I knew I was flung back against a tree. "I didn't recall giving you permission to leave the cave." Malefor said.

"Sorry master I have to fight him. If I win we can have Scorch back and we can rebuild your army with a better leader who knows the lay out." Blizzard said. She was eyeing me but looked weak.

"Seeing as these dragons are here we might as well finish them. But know you are in trouble after this for disobeying my direct order." Malefor said lashing at her chest. This was enough to piss me off.

Every scale on my body turned pure black. "You think you have a right to my mate Malefor think again." I said. I came at him and rammed him sending him into a tree. I grabbed blizzard and found were the crystal was.

It was going to hurt but I dug my claws into her neck were the crystal lay and yanked it out. She screamed in a terrifying way and I threw her to Willow. "Take her and get out of here. I don't want her to see what we are about to do" I said.

Corbin and Spyro stood next to me standing ready. Corbin has is weapon in hand ready for the kill. "You fools think i would come alone. It may be small but I brought the last of my apes to deal with you." Malefor said.

Next thing I knew we were surrounded by his small little army. I knew very well what was coming I just didn't want to act on it. "I hope you guys can take care of the apes. Im settling a score with Malefor" I said.

As soon as I finished that I charged at him letting Spyro and Corbin deal with the apes the were around us. And I was mad. I was not going to let my world be taken over by a bastard like this.

It happened to quick for words or movement. I tried to grab Burn from making a mistake. But before I could even grab him it was to late. He had already jumped out of reach straight for Malefor.

Probably the dumbest move he was ever going to make. He was charging in out of pure rage. While me and spyro were surrounded by apes and had no other way of getting to burn to help him in any way.

I stood next to spyro with the sword like weapon ready in hand. "You ready for this Corbin." Spyro said. I just got an evil grin on my face and laughed. "I have always been ready to take down apes." I said.

I had the weapon in both hands and I got into a good stance as did spyro. He may have been huge compared to me but I was able to hold my I watched them closely some of the apes charged at us.

I Side stepped one an struck it in the back while spyro used his tail on the other. I tripped the third and brought the blade down threw it's spin. I looked up in time to see the rest in a rage at there 3 fallen comrades.

"I think we just pissed them off Spyro." I said. All he did was smile. "Good makes them easier." He said. Then they all came at us. I never bothered looking back. I just started slashing away.

These apes didn't know how to fight at all. Blocking wasn't there best point either. I was able to take out dozens of them in one setting. No wonder when I was shadow I saw a lot of them die.

They were probably the worst army in the world. But they effectiveness in numbers. How I know is while we were fighting they landed several cuts on me. they were starting to make me mad.

But one thing was for sure. I kept my eye on Burn. I wasn't about to let my best friend die. He had a future. He had kids the weren't even alive yet to return to and I wasn't going to let him die.
