As for this chapter,
1st There is A HUGE time skip as we move three years into the future. I could have dragged things out but thought it best to bump up the speed a bit... otherwise this would be the never ending story.
2nd I'm warning you all now this chapter contains a MAJOR turn of events as we finally get to see what Sarah has seen regarding her own vision as it begins to happen. We finally get to see exactly what she saw... well the outcome anyway.
That being said, I hope you enjoy the chapter... so I guess on with the show

Song- Full of Grace
By: Sarah McLachlan
Sarah, sat softly in the soggy sand, next the the charred remnants of ash leftover from the bonfire, to celebrate the life of the a beloved member of the tribe after her loss with the battle she had fought for the last four years.
Sarah, couldn't help but think how very soon, these ashes will be mixed with ashes of her very own bonfire.
A cold wind shot over the her, causing her to wrap her sweater tightly around herself. Closing her eyes and with a wistful smile she fought hard to remember the feeling, because soon she wouldn't remember how it felt to be cold. Slowly, she opened her eyes to take in the choppy waves before her. She knew this wasn't exactly how she saw the end coming, but if she could possibly prevent dragging anyone else into this she would. That is how she found herself leaving her car parked a ways away in a lot and herself on a secluded third beach. Sighing her eyes took to the sun, 'it won't be long now' she whispered to herself.
To some they might see her complacency as her quitting or giving up, but there was no way to out smart the fates, her fate had been decided due to her mistake four and half years ago, and to try escape what the fates had sealed for you, would only cause their anger to rise therefore making your punishment worse... So No, she wasn't giving in she was just accepting what had been handed down. She felt herself lucky that the fates had given her this extra time, they could have handed her sentence down immediately but chose to gave her time... she had no idea why, but she was glad to have had this extra time, no matter the good or the bad that came with that time. Sarah, sighed deeply as memories of the years came over her... granted she wished they could have been happier times, but that wasn't meant to be after that Christmas morning where she had put Billy out, she kept true to her word and he had not stepped a foot into the home they once shared. Deep down, Sarah still felt a love for the man, but after the years that love wilted because the man she had loved had died in her eyes the moment he had lied to so many, by causing so much unnecessary pain. Granted Sarah, wasn't innocent in all this, because if she kept her mouth shut that fateful day, none of this would be happening... a girl wouldn't be lost to her tribe and brother, her son wouldn't possibly be without his mate, the pack wouldn't suffer, a woman wouldn't have died with such guilt and anger, a teen boy wouldn't be so bitter and destroyed... No, she wasn't innocent at all... and that is why she sat here waiting her fate so easily. Sarah could still remember the bitterness in Billy's eyes this morning when she dropped Jacob off with him when he looked at her... she knew deep down there was love still there but it too had wilted because of all that had happened. After that Christmas, Billy stood trial for crimes committed against a member of the tribe, there was no defense for him... what was he to say? Claim his actions on a visions? Back in the day that might have been enough for a tibe to believe but now the masses would deem him crazy, so all there was left was to stand and take the punishment. A harsh one at that, Sarah winced as she remembered the verdict. Billy was stripped of his right as chief of the tribe, for if he could not protect them he did not deserve to lead them, They were not cruel enough to take the rights away from the Black line, but Jacob was far to young to lead so till the day came when he turned eighteen Harry Clearwater would stand in as chief of the Quileute Nation. But Sarah knew her son, she knew he wouldn't want the title... a small smile crept across her face as she thought of her baby boy... he was such a kind and loving soul, he would help anyone without thought, he could be a bit aloof as well, Jacob, never had a desire to lead a group he always had trouble bossing others around as his sweet nature would make him feel guilty for doing so, yet her son had a stubborn streak that would make a donkey look like a well trained dog. Unfortunately when Sarah and Billy split, Jacob seemed to grow even more childish, as he constantly seemed to challenge her with outbursts at not getting his way like he was use too when after spending time with his father. So many times she cursed Billy for allowing their son, to run a bit wild in hopes of driving a wedge between mother and son, which she assumed was his way at getting back at her, but as much as Jacob tested her she met him head on she knew this wasn't her son just a product of a confused angry child of a split home... Sarah chuckled as a memory assaulted her of when she went to Forks to pick up Jacob, Embry and Quil or as Sarah preferred to call them the trio from the local roller rink, it was a little something extra to extend out Jacob's eighth birthday into a birthday weekend... however upon arrival, her son and the boy were far from ready to go, and were still out skating, which didn't surprise her that they would lose track of time, what did surprise her was her sons mouthy attitude when she told them it was time to go, and at how she wouldn't pay for them to stay for the next session. With a huff and grumbles about how Billy would let him do it, and her not being fair they were in the car and on their way back to La Push, however after ten minutes more of her sons grumbling at how mean and horrible she was and how he was going to run away, Sarah finally had enough, in a blur she yanked the car to the side of the road, slammed on the brakes, threw the car into park unbuckled opened her door got out, yanked the backdoor open, leaned down and unhooked her wide eyed son's lap belt before removing him from the car, and placing him on the side of the road as soon as he was settled in the gravel she reached into her pocket, opened his small hand and placed the contents of her hand into his 'okay, well here's five bucks' she chuckled to herself as she remembered her exact words before she turned from the slack jawed boy and made her way around the car closing the rear door and climbing back into her seat, slamming her door shut and buckling her belt, as her belt clicked into place her eyes caught the wide eyed duo in the back seat causing her to snicker at their expressions. Quickly her door opened wide and a teary eyed fearful little Jacob threw his arms around her, apologizing and begging her not to ever leave him. Sarah would have laughed out loud at the memory, but tonight she would do just that... leave him, all because of her stupid actions. A tear started to trickle down her face, as memory after memory of her son as he grew over these past years filled her mind, in all those memories one thing stood out anytime he got angry he never again threatened to run away. After a bit more time he seemed to accept the changes between her and Billy better... soon Jacob seemed to spend less time with his father and more time with her, she wondered if it was the fates way of giving her time with the one thing she was going to miss so much... she hoped it was their way of giving her a small reward for trying to repair the damage she had created, or maybe it was just as he got older and heard the story of what his father had done he chose to drift away on his own accord... Sarah knew Jacob loved his father, but she could also sometimes see a disdain when he looked at him, and seeing how close all the children were it wouldn't be a surprise he would chose Sam's side. Sarah, with Harry's help kept true to her word... as soon as CPS was open after the holiday, she and Harry had called doing all they could to find young Bella, they had even put out a missing persons report to the police who now were officially looking for the young girl, problem was as time passed they didn't know what they were looking for visual wise other then what could only be described as peridot eyes. The police, and CPS tried telling them so many times that the chances of her being alive were so slim, but something innate told Sarah that the girl was alive... she was to important to the fates for them to let her go... that same feeling told her somehow, some way that Bella would return home... so she set to work on her son making him promise if he ever met a girl with bright green eyes, to watch out for her, be her friend, and help guide her. While he agreed, she knew he thought she was crazy... but one day he would see... and she just hoped her words would be heeded and that it would lead him and her back onto the path they should have been walking since the beginning... she knew Billy would try to deter him from the path, but she was sure Harry would help keep her husband at bay, and then the only bridge he'd have to fight with would be an over protective big brother.
'Sam' her mind whispered... in all this she felt even worse for him. He was here, but wasn't so many times he would sit a top the same cliffs where the Clearwaters found him, and just stare out into the vast nothingness. The only person who seemed to reach him on those days was Leah, somehow she had a way of pulling him out of his depression... most believed it was just her no tolerance for bullshit of any kind that reached him. They say time heals all wounds, but in this case not all wounds were healed as Sam still showed the scabbed over wounds that covered his heart and soul. Still through his grief he was getting good grades, interacting with the others, while he was still upset with his grandmother and her abandonment of Bella without a goodbye he still took most of the responsibility of her care as she declined dramatically. When she passed, he stood brave and tall with his hand wrapped tightly in Leah's. At the bonfire that night he said his small piece before retreating to the cliffs, with Leah in tow as he fought off the pain that he had no real family left, his father had signed him away, his sister was missing, and his grandmother now lay cold in the ground just like his mother. Sam, had dramatically taken a step backwards in this loss. Sam elected to stay in what now was his home willed to him by his grandmother. it might be strange for a young boy to live alone but here everything was by tribal law and if nobody fussed he was free to live alone, the council would provide what he needed Sam might only be thirteen but he was wise beyond his years he might struggle at times with his grief, but Sarah had no doubt that he would make it through it all... Leah wouldn't allow him to falter.
The only thing that still haunted her was Old Quil's words... he had written her off for her hand in this diabolical as he called it, when she tried to apologize to the wise man, he would just huff and say she really didn't know what she had released onto this tribe by opening her big mouth, resulting in her husband's rash decisions. She would beg him to help her pick a part her vision to fix it, he would just shake his head and say it was to late and that her husband had ensured it with a drainage of a bottle. With one last attempt she told him of her last vision, that lead to her death... only then did he seem to pay her any mind, but said nothing till she went to leave his home 'the fates might have graced you with a chance to save your people, and your son, but when the time comes can you inflict what needs to be done to make up for all that lacks?' his haunting voice still riddled through her mind, and no matter how much she tried to decipher his words the puzzle never seemed to come together. She could just hope by giving her son the clues to befriend Bella, if she did return like she believed she would... would be enough to repair what has been done, and save them all in the future.
The smell of the salt, and the pine washed over her in the cool breeze, Even though the sensation of nature felt good on her skin, she could feel it now... it was as if the grim reaper himself was approaching, and in a way he was. The time had come, this life off warmth, and all things about being alive were over fates hands had found her. Slowly, Sarah stood up to face the one who had be sent to deal out her sentence.
"Sarah-" a soft icy male voice cooed "I see by you being here and waiting that you truly are a seer... as you decided to move locations to let me guess spare innocent bystanders?" his voice filled with a smug tone
They stood in a moment of silence before the vampire feigned disgrace "oh where are my manners? How could I not introduce myself... I am Thomas" he said with a sly smile only to receive no response from the woman before him
"that's fine say nothing, You won't shut up for hours as is... lucky for you half-lings, you seem to adapt quicker then the others"
'half-lings?' raced through Sarah's mind, what exactly was that? And how did it affect her? as much as she wanted to ask, she didn't... she had no desire to play mind games with him.
"You know I do, wonder what you did to anger the fates so badly, for them to give up a powerful seer" he smirked as he ran his finger slowly down her warm cheek causing her to flinch a bit at the coldness of his touch. "You really intrigue me... for someone who knows what is to come, and what I am you don't shed a tear, or beg for your life"
"I accept what the fates have deemed for me, and I will not give you the satisfaction of tears... you aren't worth them and why would I beg? It would only fall on deaf ears there is no compassion in you... besides if this wasn't done by your hand, it would only be another to come and I'm sure whoever was sent wouldn't be so sparing to those around here due to the fates putting ideas in your masters head to inflict a harsher punishment for my insolence" Sarah spat as she had no desire to discuss this, only to get it over with.
"Oh, so wise and a backbone to go with it... master will love you" he cooed playfully
Sarah's eyes darted to the blur that emerged out of the forest, they were now joined by two more marble like figures, and Sarah knew it was time they were here to drag her away... its not like this one couldn't do it... but since she changed the game plan there would be work to do, a cover up to keep their involvement under wraps, the fates would demand nothing less. Her eyes darted back to the red ones before her "I know everything to come I've seen it... I'm prepared and have prepared those I leave behind" she smirked
The vampires lips turned upward into a wry smile "is that so...Sarah?, we'll just see what your visions say... when they are heightened to a new power" he smirked as he tossed her into the icy grip of his companion, before she could blink she felt sharp needle like teeth digging deeper and deeper into her neck as a burning sensation filled her entire body and soul. She could feel nothing but the burning, she only knew he had removed his teeth when through her blurry vision she could see his blood soaked mouth smiling in front of her before she was tossed to the ground as her transformation began. Sarah swallowed her screams, first she didn't want anyone to hear them and come to investigate, they would either be turned like her or killed for a snack... she had gone to great lengths to keep that from happening when she changed the course of events, secondly she needed to know what was to happen next
"take the body you so freshly harvested and place it in the car... push it from the bend up the road and make sure it burns on impact... that will explain her disappearance as a death, and the body will be to burned to identify" Thomas ordered
Sarah now knew how her family would believe she died, but at least her family wouldn't have to face the disgrace of what truly happened and what she was to become. She knew Jacob would lose it and mourn deeply... but she knew he would make it through, he was strong his friends wouldn't let him fail just like they didn't let Sam. Suddenly she felt it, what she always felt before a vision the feeling of being sucked into a tunnel. As Sarah came out of her minds eye 'OH GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE' raced through her throbbing mind at what she saw was going to happen all because of what she had done. Thomas was right her visions were more heightened they were perfectly detailed no more deciphering. Sarah raised her eyes to look up at the shadow looming above her
"I was right wasn't I?" he chuckled with a wry grin "you see the venom enhances in your case the best non humanish trait" his tone smug as a smirked played on this blood stained lips
Sarah said nothing, she just looked away her mind wanted to focus on the agonizing pain, but she couldn't allow it No, she had to fight it and think on how to use her new position to change the future she knew lied ahead. Old Quil's words suddenly took forefront in her mind 'the fates might have graced you with a chance to save your people, and your son, but when the time comes can you inflict what needs to be done to make up for what lacks?' In that moment she finally understood what he meant, and knew what needed to be done... she now knew the fates choice for her was not completely a punishment but done as a way to make penance for what she had done, in a way it was a gift as well as a curse. Even though her body ached from the venom, her realization made her now see this more as a gift, even though she would have to hurt people to fix her mistakes and soon she would be considered an enemy to her people, but enemy or not she was Quileute and they were her family, even if she was no longer theirs, she owed it to them all to fix the curse she had brought upon them. As her convulsing got worse she felt herself being raised into someone arms, quickly her eyes locked onto the setting sun that seemed to dance on the beautiful ocean waters of her homeland making sure to hold the image as long as she could before she was placed into a car. As the door shut she knew it would be years till she saw that setting sun dancing on those waters again.
Well there it is, the MAJOR turn of events. We now saw what Sarah saw herself becoming and how she was going to die and why it bothered her so much. I know a lot of you probably don't like my twist in the story. While it might not be a popular decision, it has a reason for happening... I know its cliché but everything happens for a reason and honestly it is the best way Sarah can help in the future (like Old Quil told her). I hope you will all stick with me and trust I know where this is all going.
Next chapter we will go back to LA and check in with Bella and her new family. I promise you all a happier chapter with that one as we get more time with Manny and the crew and really see how they have blended over the years.
As always, please review as they are very much appreciated; however as always flames are not.
