Reviewers;
Harukei: I am glad that you are loving my story so far and I hope to keep you on track for reading my story continuously until it ends.
Duh Bomb: Sakura: A final last few thoughts which I loved how you wrote that. It goes well with the gentle nature of her voice. Dark Sakura: I wish we had a dark Sakura voice from the anime to match your words for her. Kakashi: I liked this part and the three different sides to your review.
St3rfire: I figured that since people can usually be revived around seven minute after they cease to breathe, and the demonic powers, oh you'll love the side story for how I came up for that much later. This is simply Sakura getting more magic than even she had before, but the question is, can she handle the responsibility that comes with it?
Tsukoblue: Hard username to write correctly, but I am thankful for your review. More will be shown in a few chapters, but right now, it will be Sakura-Centric, but fear not for Naruto's scenes are coming.
ArtanisRose: I like the username, rolls off the tongue nicely, and I hope that I didn't hurt you with that plot twist too much.
Czar Joseph: Well...The wall of ice kinds of prevents a naval assault, so we'll see what occurs, but the father of the Uchiha brothers is dead. Itachi is the King. Ooo...Uncontrollable state? I like the imagery that could unfold from that...
AN: Hey! And thanks from all of the reviewers this last weekend! I loved to hear what you all thought about my new part of the story! Now we head into the next portion where one must be able to think through all the things that come from separation and reunions. That's all I'll say. Also! I have decided to mark this story into three arcs, and so I will/have updated my previous chapters with the Arc titles. Just go back to the middle of chapter 10 or so, and you'll see the arc title, nothing else is changed.
So I hope you all like where I take the second portion of this trilogy of chapters and the second portion of my story.
Fire & Ice
Arc 2: Let It Go
Chapter 21: In Life, There is Freedom
Out in the countryside, above the city that used to be Port Haruno, a blizzard raged slowly in a tight spiral, and at the inside of this various colors of white around the spiral, a young girl of seventeen lay asleep on the ground, her face covered in a soft sprinkle of snow. Slowly, her body spread out and stretched as she awoke, the snow moving around her as she did so, forming her shadow within the snow.
The teenager pushed out on her elbows, smacking her lips as her eyes opened, as emerald as they were. Sakura was drowsy for a few seconds before she noticed the world around her, or rather, the blizzard that blocked her vision after ten feet in every direction.
'W-Where am I?' Sakura thought, and she moved to a kneeling position. A ghost of pain shot across her body and Sakura gasped in huge gulps of air, her body spasming for a split second as her memory came back rushing at her mind. Sakura looked at herself in a glazed fashion, looking, but not looking. 'I'm dead?'
Sakura looked around herself in curiosity. 'Is this heaven? Or hell?' The pains returned for a quick revenge and Sakura reached for her left arm and gasped as her head dipped down as she stared at the bones that were no longer broken. Sakura's hands trailed down her body. Her wounds were healed, her bruises disappeared, her broken leg fixed and brand new. But her magic wasn't this fast...right?
Sakura breathed out, calming her heavily beating heart. So she was still alive, 'but…how long was I out?' Surely a long time because her healing magic took a long while, at least a week, to heal a broken bone, let alone a broken limb with four! 'So, how did I get here?'
Sakura slowly stood up and shivered a bit, as her body adjusted to the sudden cold. Wait, how was she cold? Sakura looked down and blushed furiously, the pink and red surging into her cheeks and all over the exposed skin of her body. Someone or something had changed her entire attire! Her black boots had stayed the same for the most part, except that the tops were now ringed with a ring of white fur that Sakura smiled as it made her entire lower thigh down as warm as a toasty fire. But then, she wore these…really tight pants or something that clung to her legs, that were ice blue and white and…Sakura gulped, nearly transparent. But they held designs of snowflakes and ice, and they moved from underneath her boots and up past her knees to maybe an inch or two above them. Sakura supposed they were stockings or leggings of some sort that she had heard courtesans liked to wear during the colder seasons.
As Sakura's green eyes roamed upwards, so did her soft, gentle hands, and she blushed deeper as she came in contact with really, Really, tight shorts that left little to the imagination to the contour of her upper thighs to her hip. Sakura's hands grazed her behind and looked around herself. These shorts were deep red, but clearly showed every inch and curve of Sakura's ass, and there was half of an inch separating it from the leggings, showing the fair skin of the royal.
Sakura sighed though as she felt the fabric of a skirt, though she couldn't really call it that either. She had seen Ino wear something similar and knew that she had always envied her for the courage it took to wearing something like this. The skirt wasn't like Sakura's normal knee length skirts. Instead, it went up…and up…and Up! And then stopped just before the leggings ended. But as Sakura swayed slightly, her tummy and hip twisting, the skirt swished and lifted a bit, but stayed in place. Sakura breathed happily. If it raised any higher, she'd be showing her stretched fabric covered ass to anyone in sight.
Sakura felt something on her chest and bent her head further down to see what seemed to be a mixture of red, white and ice blue fabric mixed together in colorful designs, and saw sleeves that went to the edge of her elbows. A blouse made for the outdoors it seemed to be. Sakura blushed again though as she moved and the blouse wasn't as loose as she originally thought it was. It tightened like one of Sakura's corsets around her ample breasts, and Sakura knew as she took a step to the side and felt the tingle of open air that she wasn't wearing any underwear, but she supposed that the shorts and the corset underneath counted as those.
Sakura dropped her hands to her side and looked up at the sky, which swirled overhead and closed her eyes and sniffled "…..God…Thank you…."
Sakura squealed like a young pup in surprise as a wet nose touched the bare skin between her leggings and her skirt and Sakura shot her head down to widen her eyes in happy surprise at the sight of a wolf that whinnied happily at her, her tail wagging happily. "T-Tanya?" Sakura whispered before falling to her knees in the snow.
Tanya pounced on her master and Sakura laughed happily, her voice echoing around the lone hill as happy tears fell down her eyes. Her arms wrapped around the dog tightly as Sakura chanted. "Oh Tanya….Tanya….T-Tanya..." Sakura smiled and thanked God again. Her wolf was safe. S-she thought Tanya was gone forever.
It was funny. Tanya's fur felt so surreal, like her skin could feel every hair in her fur….her skin?! Sakura backed away and looked at the bareness of her hands in astonishment. They were so…white, like the moon. Sakura saw only the white of her palm before a looped silk ring of fabric circled around the base of her center finger, and as Sakura slowly turned her head, her eyes analyzed every millimeter of skin as she did so. The ring of fabric expanded to slowly form into an expanding silk going down the back of her hand, before it wrapped completely around her wrist.
They were gloves! F-Fingerless gloves, and Sakura saw that they moved up to just past the elbow and came in contact with her sleeves. They were beautiful too, as it seemed like her old pink and red gloves had melted into these ones as faint yellow gold symbols shined in the mixture of see-through fire-pink and ice-blue.
Sakura smiled as she felt herself heating up and heard a flap in the wind and reached behind herself to pull a cloak from behind her that was the same color as her royal blood red, but Sakura's eyes widened in realization as it swished beside her, melting into the snow's background. Inside the fabric were specks of white ice, and so she was camouflaged for the snow.
Sakura moved back to the gloves though. Her fingers being shown? Absolutely scandalous! And yet, Sakura smiled brightly as Tanya eagerly and happily licked her fingers. She remembered when after a hard day of playing around, Sakura and Naruto had retreated to her room and she had pulled her gloves off in sweaty irritation. The look on Naruto's face…the thought made Sakura blush. It was as if Sakura was stripping down and showing her whole essence to him.
"Naruto…" Sakura's glee subsided. If she was alive, then so was he. But as soon as people learned of her existence again, she would be back to being the little Queen running the country and having to care for others! All by herself?! No! Not this time! God himself had given her life back and she was doing things Her way! Not the way the World saw her! Her Way!
The wind whistled and Sakura stood back up, gulping as she felt her magic powering this blizzard around her. Was this her protection? But then she felt it…powerful magic that was her own, but not her own. It was as if hundreds of bodies made of magic surrounded her, and…Sakura felt like they were all looking at her.
"Tanya, come here." Sakura spoke and Tanya yipped and stood at her side, and then Sakura willed her magic to stop, and with her hands opening slowly, cut the air in front of her, as if opening up curtains in front of a window. And just like that, the blizzard stilled and Sakura's eyes widened.
All around her, in multiple rings spread around, stood warriors, each with cloth covering their faces from their noses down. They each wore versatile armor that was light for a knight, but was worn in rough terrain such as snow. In their hands and at their sides were weapons and their eyes…they were ice blue in color.
To every two warriors, there was a wolf that matched Tanya in size and even some bigger and smaller, but with her pure white coat, thought duller than Tanya's own. And on every fourth soldier was a black and white falcon, colored like a peregrine falcon in dark color, and bright golden colored eagles. Sakura felt Tanya's calm nature and slowly looked down and gasped silently as Tanya looked at her questionably with ice blue eyes. Tanya's eyes were black...Was…was this really Tanya?
Sakura looked up in fear, gulping in nervousness. Who were these people? Relatives of hers? The Haruno had used wolves almost four hundred years ago in wars, but had suffered too many losses to produce more. And birds of prey? Haruno Suka, way back when her ancestors were sea faring nomads, had trained these two species to find land and food for her family. W-Why were they here?
Sakura gulped back her nervousness. "Who are you?" Her voice echoed and Sakura shivered at the sound of her voice being harsher than she had intended. She didn't want to offend them or anything! They might have saved her from death for all she knew! Why couldn't she remember anything? A few seconds passed before a soldier stepped forward, her black hair trailing in a ponytail behind her. A female soldier? That was rare. And then she spoke in an accent that Sakura remembered as her mother's.
"We are your protectors, My Lady."
"…W-What?"
"You created us, Lady Sakura."
"I-…I-What?" Sakura's brain swirled in a massive headache as visions of her death and resurrection played out across her mind; her final farewell prayer to Naruto, the warriors storming out of the castle, the hacking and spearing of limbs, and her formal…declaration of the power of the Haruno family. What did she do?!
"I-I…" Sakura began to say again when she remembered back years ago to when she had met the Namikaze clan. 'You think the green magic is healing? No Child. It is the center of your two powers. Your power is not that of fire and ice. No...It is the power of Life.'
"I created you." Sakura spoke, astonished. at herself. Sakura looked down at her new clothes. "I created these." Sakura looked around, and her eyes teamed with tears. "I created life? But I was dead." Sakura spoke before the blood filled her vision of her recent battle...:I killed all those people."
"No, My Lady. We killed them." The girl walked a step forward, closer to her. "We were created in your lust for life. You wanted to live, so you created us to protect your life."
Sakura looked around in astonishment. "But…there are male and female?"
"Yes…that is life, is it not?"
Sakura nodded and recalled making a bird of ice. How was this any different?
"Where would you like to go, My Lady?"
"Where can I go?"
"Anywhere."
Sakura turned to the right and sighed as she saw that Port Haruno looked as if it was in endless slumber. Forgotten in the ice for all eternity. "Not there. I wish…to be alone…away from the world."
"Then let us go where you point towards."
Sakura sniffled and smiled. "Lets." Sakura began to walk forward before pausing and gripped the female soldier's arm as the rest of the battalion began to walk away from the edge. "What is your name?"
The female looked at her for a second, as she looked speechless at the sudden question. "I-I have no name."
"You are obviously the leader of your people," Sakura smiled. "What would you like your name to be?"
"Well…I always liked the name Layla."
"Then it is nice to meet you Layla. Please…I am not a Lady anymore. Just call me Sakura."
"Okay Sakura."
The caravan of nomads moved casually through the canyons, moving past the slopes that led to the top and Sakura sat upon one of the horses that was an extra since a spearman had died in the initial battle. Sakura wanted to know the soldier's name, but he had none. These people that she had created could speak and know who each other were just by looking, but they deserved names to be remembered by.
Sakura looked around and looked to the path towards the left. That path led back to her sanctuary, where she could practice her magic in peace. Sakura's face hardened though. She didn't need to hide it anymore, and now it was just a place she had been, though a place that she would no doubt return to remind herself of the love that Naruto used to have for her.
Word must have gotten back already and she prayed that Naruto would soon find a girl to love him as much as she did. Sakura had a feeling that in bed, she would be the nervous fragile girl she felt she was inside, and with her magic, that idea of being with Naruto wasn't possible. Naruto needed a strong woman to care for his sexual needs, and she prayed that he got the prettiest girl in whatever town he was in in the near future.
Sakura, now free of any responsibility, did not have to do anything now. She could just relax, sit back, and enjoy her life. Though, as Sakura looked around her at the people protecting her, maybe she could help them just a little bit. They needed to find somewhere to stay and Sakura didn't know why, but she felt like that perfect place was just up ahead of her entourage.
The group turned the corner and Sakura smiled at the view. They had appeared at the top of one of two peaks, but around the peak they were on was a simple plain of snow for they were now up at the height where the snow stayed year round. And over across from them after a simple hundred yards, lay Sakura's picture perfect side of the cliff that moved up into the sky, and down below was a large crescent of rocks and inside it was a beautiful plain of snow. It was perfect for them to camp, if they went down the mountain and up the other, but they would have to scale the cliff face to reach it.
Sakura sighed and looked away before a crazy idea came to her. It couldn't work, could it? Sakura got off her horse and stepped forward as she walked until she had reached the edge of the snowy plain and looked straight ahead, before studying the rock on the edge as well. Sakura nodded to herself. It just might work.
Sakura closed her eyes and spread out her hands, and mewled as her magic, the most powerful it had ever been inside her yet, spread to her hands. Her hands jittered from the power and she held in a moan of ecstasy at the feeling of her body's power. Ice shot out across the abyss in two strands of straight lines, like arrows being shot across a canyon.
As these strings of ice reached the edge, the magic in Sakura's hands doubled and the strings became as wide as a road and moved across the chasm in a straight iced rainbow. On Sakura's side, the ice fell to the ground and sunk into the snow, and Sakura kicked the ice, and it stayed in place. There, a bridge across the chasm.
Sakura smiled before an idea came to her. This bridge was so…simple looking. She could make anything with her powers, so why stop at this? Sakura smiled as she shot forth more ice, and waist high rails erected themselves along the road before they turned into bricks of ice and the surface of the road became etched in creative designs, and below the bridge, support structures formed and solidified into the rock face. Sakura smiled at her creation and turned to see Layla and the rest of her creations smiling through their masks. She could do better.
Sakura looked to the plains. It was perfect for a small village for the people she had created. But she wanted a castle too, so why not start with that? Sakura smiled as she told the caravan to wait as she crossed the bridge and blew magic onto the snow as it melted away until the rocky ground appeared and let her powers liquefy and surge inside the ground before they re-solidified, making a strong foundation, as well as a floor that stretched about a fourth the size of Sakura's ancestral home.
Sakura's magic was quickly moving on its own after that as walls made of ice shot up to the size of the old castle, one hundred and fifty feet into the sky, as the walls of towers shot up even higher and higher as the interior moved to stand against the cliff face. Slowly, these walls were cut into strong blocks that made them look marvelous and then the roof slid into place as planks of ice moved into the necessary slots.
Torches made of ice grew from the walls, and Sakura smiled widely as she shot forth her golden magic inside and outside the growing castle, which lit up the great architecture in a nice and gentle glow. Finally, Sakura moved to the edge of the bridge and made a small farming wall, and gatehouse, about three feet high, to keep out the heavy winds of the mountain ranges, and sloped up at the ends to match with the crescent of the cliffs. As she was done, she turned to see the widened eyes of her new people as they walked across the bridge with her and they entered the plains between the wall and the castle itself.
An icy path created itself in Sakura's subconscious as they walked forward and Sakura looked towards Layla as they entered the castle, and everyone moved to explore it thoroughly. Layla pulled on Sakura's sleeve and she turned to face her.
"My Lady Sakura, this is amazing."
"I think I can do one more thing before the day is out."
"What?"
Sakura smiled at the question and reached forward, her hands touching Layla's ice covered face and breathed a small stream of warm mist towards her. Layla gasped slowly as the ice on her face melted and her skin turned from a frozen white blue to the skin that matched Sakura's.
Tears formed in Layla's eyes and fell down her eyes as Sakura pulled down her face mask. She hiccuped and jumped forward, hugging her Lady and Sakura hugged back. 'Geez,' Sakura thought as she embraced her creation fondly. When she made life, she really held nothing back.
AN: The idea on building a bridge is actually done by using bows and arrows with rope tied to the ends and shot over canyons and gorges, and then shot back before they pull the rope across, followed by thickening the rope and then followed by metal cables. And that is how a bridge is born. So yes, this is how I really thought the Let it go scene, although I Loved that scene!
Question: When You are in a tough situation, who do you turn to for help?
