The Untold Secret
Chapter 9
April sighed as she walked into the residents frat house. It had been four months since Catherine had visited. Christmas had come and gone and it was almost Valentine's day. But today they had, had a baseball game against Seattle Presbyterian. Now April was exhausted after having to go back to the ER for a few hours due to a multiple RTC.
Now she sank into the sofa, the other residents were still at the hospital and Jackson she wasn't sure were he was.
Then a chocolate drink was placed in front of her by a familiar hand. She leaned back.
"Chocolate milk and caramel vodka?" she asked.
"Yes," grinned Jackson.
"Thank you," smiled April.
"Well we had a bad day," answered Jackson. "I thought you might need it."
"Thank you," she murmured, as she took a sip.
"No problem," smiled Jackson, sitting next to her.
He leaned in to kiss her as she took another sip. She pulled the glass away from her mouth.
"Hmm I can see why you like that stuff," murmured Jackson.
"You just like it because it was off my lips," answered April.
"Probably why don't you take another drink and we'll see," answered Jackson.
Within minutes the glass was empty and forgotten on the coffee table and Jackson and April were joined at the lips.
Ten minutes later, the front door slammed shut and Lexie and Mark walked in.
"The others we're just behind us!" shouted Lexie.
"They haven't heard you," said Mark, picking up a cushion and throwing it at the couple.
"Hey!" exclaimed Jackson, looking up.
"Unless you want everyone to know I'd stop and leave or whatever," suggested Mark.
"Dr Sloan!" exclaimed April, sitting up quickly and rolling of the sofa.
"Everyone was ten minutes behind us which means they're pulling into the drive now," said Lexie.
"I'm gunna get a drink," said April.
"I'm gunna go upstairs," replied Jackson.
"I will join you in a minute," answered April.
Jackson hurried upstairs and seconds later April came out of the kitchen with more chocolate milk and caramel vodka and started up the stairs.
"Kepner!" called Mark.
"Yeah?" she asked.
"You forgot your shirt," he said, picking up and throwing it to her.
"Thanks!" she called.
She burst into Jackson's room minutes later.
"I had no shirt on," she whispered, locking the door behind her.
"You planning on staying in here all night?" asked Jackson.
"What?" asked April.
"You have the whole bottle of caramel vodka, chocolate syrup and half a bottle of milk," answered Jackson.
"Yes, yes I do," answered April, putting them on the dresser.
"Ok," shrugged Jackson.
"Oh," whispered April, minutes later.
"What?" asked Jackson, from where he was kissing her neck.
"I just realized I need a shower," answered April.
"So I'll go see where everyone is you run into the bathroom, don't start the shower and then I'll say I'm going for a shower," answered Jackson.
April nodded and Jackson left the room. Moments later he was back.
"Bathrooms clear everyone is in the kitchen," he smiled.
They both ran to the bathroom and slammed the door loudly.
Downstairs Lexie groaned.
"What?" asked Meredith.
"When Mark and I got back we could Jackson with his screamer," answered Lexie.
"Now it appears they're in the shower," said Mark.
"He's been with this screamer for a few months anyone any idea who she is?" asked Meredith.
Everyone shook their heads.
"I bet April does," smirked Cristina.
"I'll go ask," answered Lexie, hopping of the chair.
She headed up the stairs and went into April's room before hearing a loud moan from the bathroom.
She knocked on the door and slipped in.
"Guys everyone is in the kitchen and they can hear you," she hissed, before she walked back out.
She headed back downstairs.
"She's asleep," she said, settling back into the chair.
"We'll just have to catch them coming out of the bathroom," answered Meredith.
Minutes later in quick succession the bathroom door slammed, there was a padding of feet and then seconds later another door slam.
Then minutes later a door opened quietly, feet padded down the hall. A door opened and closed and then there were giggles.
Cristina went up to the bathroom and came back minutes later.
"Kepner isn't in her room," answered Cristina.
"Do we even know if April came back here?" asked Derek.
"Her car is on the drive," answered Mark.
"Maybe she went back out and went for a walk when she heard Jackson," suggested Lexie.
"I need to go to the store," groaned Meredith.
"I'll come with you," answered Derek.
"I'm going home," answered Cristina.
The three headed out and Lexie and Mark slumped on the table.
"Keeping secrets is exhausting," groaned Lexie. "I'm exhausted."
"Why don't we go and have a nap them?" asked Mark.
Lexie nodded and allowed Mark to lead her upstairs.
