A/N: Well I guess I am going to finish this story. Come hell or high water. I received enough of a response to deem it worthwhile to continue with. Not to say I don't appreciate the reviews of course. Oh also…super sorry I just came up with a storyline to finish this thing that is a little more intense and also complicated.

Chapter 8: Set my body free

"Michiru we're back!" Haruka called out as she opened the door to their small operations center with more force than was probably necessary. Without looking back to make sure her partner was following her she preceded down the hallway towards where the intel office and Michiru practically lived.

Nephrite followed the tall blonde girl in but appeared a little green around the gills. "Speak for yourself."

Haruka just laughed aloud before unsympathetically smacking Nephrite's back. "Come on! You're just not used to driving with a professional."

"That isn't what your previous driving test shows." Nephrite responded bitterly.

"Oh come on I passed the emergency vehicle test!" Haruka responded with a hint of annoyance regarding the conversation creeping into her voice. She just didn't understand the tall man. He could face down some of the worst people in their industry and play undercover agent for some of the worse people but put him in a car with her and he melted.

"You lost the back half of the Ambulance!" Nephrite cried out in frustration. "How do you lose the most important part of an emergency medical vehicle?"

"Calm down Nephy. You are twisted tighter than Michiru before a performance." Haruka grumbled good-naturedly.

"What did you do to poor Nephrite this time?" Michiru spoke up from her station at one of the computers that they had in their operations center. She didn't bother looking up because she knew exactly what had happened just like it did every time the two were out on assignment together. Clicks of the mouse were the only thing that interrupted the silence of the room other than the HVAC units overhead blowing cool air.

"Just showed him some real driving." Haruka muttered before she walked over to Michiru's desk and bent over and gave her girlfriend a chaste kiss. If they were off duty there would have been more but she knew that Michiru was a strict professional while on duty.

"I'm sure." Michiru said with a chuckle before turning to Nephrite without batting an eyelash, once more she was all business. "Did you receive any information from Setsuna?"

"Not anything helpful other than at least one of the brother knows something about what is going on but I don't think they are involved." Nephrite reported while casually leaning against one of the nearby desks. "Did you manage to get anything further from your search?"

Michiru nodded absently before she brought up a browser and quickly typed through a line of code bringing up a disturbing screen that had a picture of a Black Moon on the page. After running through another line of code to get into the servers the site popped up. There were pictures of children and young women in little or no clothing. Next to individual pictures there were prices. Much like E-Bay there were bid options or buy now options.

"The hell is this!?" Haruka growled out in surprise. She physically found herself backing away from the computer in disgust.

Nephrite didn't show much of a reaction further than a sour expression. Unfortunately in his line of work as the top undercover agent he had seen things just as bad or worse in his time with the agency. "Is this what Seiya has been getting himself into?"

"I don't have anything to tie him to it but I believe he has been working in human trafficking and drug pushing. This is the Dead Moon Circus and it is a site that operates on the dark net. You won't find this without tor and secret access codes. They deal with human trafficking, drug trafficking, and child trafficking." Michiru quickly brought up a few different pictures of females that all appeared to be in their young to late teens. "I don't have any concrete evidence to bring Seiya in on but all of these girls were at one point with Seiya either fan girls that traveled with the band or previous girlfriends. One would have been a coincidence, two a possible inquiry, but I have over fourteen girls that have disappeared and all were last seen with Seiya from the unofficial reports. Officially of course he was with the band during this time."

Michiru brought up another screen. This screen had flight information and purchased plane tickets. "He hid a lot of his actions by purchasing these girls tickets to follow them on tour through a smaller airliner. The problem is that while he purchased two way tickets they didn't have a name attached to them and the return tickets were never used in any instance. I don't know what Usagi knows but Mamoru needs to get the information soon. The Three Lights are planning on touring again soon and I believe he will try to tie up any loose ends before they leave."

"Shit." Nephrite grumbled as he came closer to the computer screens. The data didn't give them a solid reason to arrest Seiya but it certainly pointed the finger at the lead singer. "I'll have to inform Mamoru of this development."

"I'll go with you." Haruka volunteered until Michiru stopped her by grabbing her arm.

"I need you to follow up on some leads into this Dark Moon Circus. They have a contact in the area called Fish Eye. I need you to do what you do best." Michiru smirked.

"Heh…beat the all living shit out of them until they spill?" Haruka questioned with a demonic look crossing her face. "Just the kind of mission I love. I'll leave the intrigue bullshit to Neph and Kun."

"Remind me how you made it into the FBI, Tenou." Nephrite muttered with just a touch of bitterness in his voice.

"Because I'm rated top of the list for convincing little worms to give me the information I want." Haruka responded matter of factly before taking the file that Michiru had printed up for her on Fish Eye and disappearing back down the hall towards her car.

"Better get going Neph. You have work in about six hours." Michiru called out helpfully.

"Don't remind me." Nephrite muttered unhappily. Why was it that he always got stuck with the worst undercover position? Oh right he answered himself mentally. Kunzite couldn't act his way out of a box, Tenou would rather beat her target into submission, and Mamoru was just too brainy for most cover jobs. With a sigh of resignation he decided to get moving before it became too late.

"Are you sure Nephrite?" Mamoru looked to his friend and fellow agent in askance at the information that the man had just provided to him.

"Michiru found it all. You know how she loves diving into the dark net. I couldn't even download the damn Tor program correctly without getting flagged knowing my luck." Nephrite responded with a slight indignant huff.

"Well thanks for the information Nephrite. At least I have something to go off of now." Mamoru responded with an unhappy expression on his face. They knew that Seiya was up to something with the girls that kept disappearing but they never thought it was this bad. It would have almost been better if he was a serial killer. At least then the man would have left physical evidence behind.

"Well I better go it's getting late." Nephrite muttered before he got up and glanced at the clock. Two in the morning and he had work in less than four hours. With little fanfare he showed himself out of the small apartment and closed the door behind him.

Mamoru for his part made sure to lock the door. He decided to check in on Usagi one last time for the night before heading to bed. Luckily he had tomorrow "off" from the hospital so he could at least sleep in for the time being. Still this Dark Moon Circus outfit could be an issue. If they were global then they were far reaching and in fact probably had their own agents placed in the hospital or working for Seiya if Usagi knew something that they didn't want her to know.

A quick walk down the hall and he stopped by Usagi's room to check in on the girl. To his surprise he found her awake and fully dressed. The girl was just sitting on her bed with her knees drawn up and her arms wrapped around them in a hug. Her face was almost glittering in the soft moon light coming through the window with tears.

After a momentary internal debate he decided to offer comfort if he could to the emotionally traumatized girl. He just hoped that her more sane side was in control of her body. He lightly rapped on the frame of the half opened door. "Hey Usa…mind if I come in?"

Usagi for her part was momentarily startled out of her stupor before she looked up at Mamoru. After a moment she nodded hesitantly and let her arms drop from her sides. She silently watched Mamoru enter the room and take a seat on the edge of her bed. Having to live with Mamoru twenty four hours a day and seven days a week without a break certainly went a long way in fostering trust.

"Anything you want to talk about?" Mamoru offered. Forcing the issue wouldn't help but perhaps he could get her to open up. There had been a few times before that she looked like she wanted to speak but had ultimately clammed up. Then again most of the times before Ami or one of the other girls were around. Perhaps he would luck out tonight.

Usagi shook her head lightly and found her eyes wandering down to stare at the pattern of the blanket on her bed. She looked back up to see Mamoru clearly patiently there with an encouraging smile on his face. Maybe he could help her. Had he not proven time and time again that he would do anything he could do for her by talking with her and patiently sit with her?

Indecision was clear on her face and Mamoru decided to offer an olive branch. Hopefully at the information Usagi wouldn't pull back. "Nephrite just got back from speaking with Setsuna. Apparently she got some information that Seiya may have been involved in some human trafficking…" He trailed off hoping that perhaps that this would get her to talk or some type of response.

It turned out that it elicited a response. The young girl suddenly went stiff as a board and stared at Mamoru with wide eyes. "He has her…Rini…" She mumbled out. Her arms started to shake and her body started to tremble before she finally cried out. "He has her!" A moment later she fell apart into uncontrollable sobs.

Mamoru was momentarily surprised by the response and didn't react immediately. After recovering from the brief pause, Mamoru managed to gather Usagi into his arms and gently stroked the young girls back. "It's alright…it's alright…but I need you to tell me who he has Usa…we need to know what Seiya did."

"He has her and he killed her…" Usagi cried out before burying her head further into Mamoru's chest. Perhaps if she was not so emotional distraught and not traumatized from that night she could provide some kind of information but it was all jumbled nothing made sense. She could remember brief fragments of her finding something. There was a confrontation with Seiya but he laughed her off. Then she tried to get help? Or did she try to leave. It wasn't clear but whatever she tried to do it only angered the man. Then all of a sudden there was a fire and she was trying to get to someone. She was trying to get to Rini but then Seiya appeared with a laugh before kicking her in the head. It all went black and suddenly she was in the hospital and Seiya was there. He injected something into her while they were alone it jumbled her thoughts further. Made memories disappear and caused her personality to fracture. But it still didn't make sense and there were still important fragments missing.

The blonde girl let out a cross between a wail and a cry when the fragments all came back in a flood. She still couldn't put them all together but she knew that Rini was dead. She couldn't remember what Rini was to her but she knew she loved her. She pulled back from Mamoru and clutched her head in an attempt to stop the flooded fragments but they kept coming. She started to rock back and forth whining in pain but it wouldn't end.

Mamoru for his part didn't know what to do. Sure he had a crash course in assisting people with mental disorders but his specialty was criminal psychology. He knew she was having an episode but he was unsure what it meant. He was about to respond when the light to the whole apartment suddenly cut out causing him to frown in concern. "I'll be right back Usa…just hold on. I promise we're going to make this better."

Mamoru slipped off the bed and silently moved over to her windows. Since the shades were drawn he carefully lifted a single finger and moved the edge of the blinds over ever so slightly. The yellow light of the street lights left the room with a slight glow. A frown crossed his face at what he saw. A black van had pulled up outside of the apartment and even more disturbing it appeared that Seiya or Black Moon Circus had the cops in their pocket. He couldn't say for certain that Seiya or Black Moon was behind this operation but after what Nephrite told him tonight nothing else made sense.

After another minute of watching the progress of what could only be a breach and clear team getting ready, Mamoru pulled back from the window. He raised his watch up towards his face and tapped one of the buttons. "Kunzite…I have a late delivery here. It looks like it is a rather large package and I think I may need some assistance getting it into the apartment."

"Acknowledged…I am thinking of bringing some friends to your toga party do you think you have enough room in your apartment?" Kunzite's voice came through the small speaker.

"Yes the more the merrier it is just the two of us so far so the more company the better." Mamoru responded. "I think we may try to step out if we can though." He waited long enough to hear the response from Kunzite before he made his way back over to Usagi. "Usa…we are going to go to my bedroom real quick. There are some people here that are going to be coming through the door in a few minutes. We need to either get out or get fortified."

"He's here." Usagi whispered in fear before she completely froze up. She stared at Mamoru unable to get herself to move or respond any further.

"Don't worry I won't let him get you." Mamoru responded gently. His head swung though at the sound of a loud bang at the front door followed by an authority's voice.

"Mr. Mamoru Chiba please open up. This is the Juuban Police. We have arrest warrants for possible illegal kidnapping and holding of a Usagi Tsukino." A gruff voiced sounded from the other side of the door. "If you do not open this door in one minute we will break it down."

"Shit…come on Usa looks like we have to hold out until Kunzite arrives." Mamoru picked Usagi up off her bed. The girl was completely dead weight but luckily he was no weakling and he threw her over his shoulder before dashing out of her room and into his. With as much gentle care as he could he dropped Usa on his bed before he ran over to a painting in his bedroom. Carelessly he flung the picture off the wall to reveal the safe behind the frame. He quickly keyed in his combination and yanked the door open the moment the code was confirmed.

A loud bang echoed through the apartment. Mamoru almost dropped one of the guns in the safe but luckily caught it with his reflexes. A slight frown crossed his face when he heard it again. They were trying to bash the door down but it would do no good. The front door had a steel reinforced frame and a steel core in the door itself but that didn't mean anything. The moment they realized they couldn't get in with pure force they would probably use explosive charges. If they went through the trouble of making up fake charges they wouldn't have a problem blasting their way in.

Mamoru tucked one of the colts into the back of his belt loop and tucked the other into a holster on his leg. He picked up the grenades he stashed in the hidden safe as well and attached them to his belt. He grabbed one of the bullet proof vests and threw it on before tossing the second one to Usagi. "Here put this on…just in case."

After ascertaining that the girl would follow his orders he went back to tucking magazines of ammo into his pickets and bullet proof vests. Finally he picked out the tactical shotgun that he had stashed away…just incase. It looked like that just in case had come up. He checked to make sure he had enough rounds attached to the stock before loading the chamber of the pump action weapon.

"Usa…just stay there alright. I'm going to handle everything. I'm going to lock the door behind me. This is a safe room nothing more than a tank cannon will bust through it but I'm not going to take any chances. I need you to lock the deadbolt after I leave. Don't open it unless I come back and tell you that the Toga Party is over." Mamoru instructed. "Do you understand?"

Usagi just stared at Mamoru with wide eyes and just nodded unsure what to say. She looked up in time to see Mamoru lock the door knob and step out to let the door fall closed behind him. After hesitating for a moment on the bed she ran over to the door and locked the deadbolt portion before quickly running back to the bed. She threw on the bullet proof vest as best she could before crawling under the bed just for added security. A large boom shook the floor and rattled some of the pictures off the walls. Usa put her hands to her head and tried to block out the sound. A moment later gun fire erupted.

Apparently the lot was more impatient than he originally thought. He hadn't even made it down the hall to Usagi's room when the door blasted inwards. Pieces of metal flew down the hall and would have struck Mamoru had the blast not knocked him off of his feet. The blast further saved his life when a hail of submachine gun fire flew down the hall chest height.

With an annoyed grunt Mamoru rolled himself through the doorway to Usa's room. There was a reason he favored the shotgun and it was because he was more a support member than anything else. He had to have a certain proficiency to be in the FBI but he would never have Kunzite's pinpoint accuracy, Nephrite's ability for close combat with the combat knife and crossbow or Haruka's brutal hand to hand combat. So the shotgun was his weapon of choice.

The moment there was a pause he edged up to the door frame and eased the barrel out into the hallway. Without even bothering to aim, Mamoru fired off a round before pumping the shotgun and firing off a second round. Without awaiting any response he hugged himself back against the wall and away from the frame. He was rewarded with a scream and another round of gunfire.

"Officer down!" A man yelled over the din of the gunfire. "Jesus he got Jack that son of a bitch!"

"Mister you just signed your death warrant if you had just come nice and quietly we could have worked out a deal for the girl." A hardened voice called out from the doorway.

"Sorry I hate to disappoint but I find I thrive on a little chaos." Mamoru responded before he grabbed one of the smoke grenades and popped the top before tossing it out into the hallway. Gun fire erupted again but Mamoru wasn't stupid he waited a moment. When the gunfire slowed down he rolled out of the doorway and into the hall. He came up in a kneeling position and pumped off another two rounds. The moment he let them fly he threw himself forward and to the left into the kitchen. This time unfortunately he must have missed because no screaming came from the front hall.

The moment he was in the kitchen he carefully pulled himself up into a stooped position to keep himself out of view of the living room. He carefully eased his head up enough so he could look over the island that shared an open concept space with the living room. He sighted a police officer and a man dressed in tactical gear. They were slowly easing their way towards the kitchen. After a moment of psyching himself up, Mamoru sprang up with the shotgun already propped against his shoulder. The laser point of the tactical shotgun produced a red dot over the police officer. He fired off a quick two burst round and managed to hit both of them.

"Shit Shit! He's in the kitchen. Son of a bitch has a shotgun!" One of the fallen men called out to his comrades.

Mamoru heard the man before he saw him and swung the shotgun around back towards the hall. It was too late though and a fierce kick knocked the gun out of his hands. The shotgun clattered across the kitchen floor and came to rest under the kitchen table. Mamoru grunted in pain when a knife was driven into his shoulder. He brought both his hands up in an attempt to push the man away to keep the knife from being pushed further into his body.

"Huh…never thought they'd have a spook protecting her. I guess this is the end of the line for you." The man suddenly withdrew from Mamoru and before the FBI agent had a chance to attack he felt the cold barrel of a gun pressed against his head.

"I'd ask how you knew but clearly Seiya has failed at keeping our little secret silent." The man pushed Mamoru back into the ground before letting out a light chuckle. "I guess he's outlived his usefulness which is why I was sent out to recover the weak link. I have a preference for younger girls I'll have you know."

Mamoru attempted to push back against the man and find a flaw in his stance he could take advantage of but before he could move the man brutally stomped down on the knife still embedded in his shoulder. He couldn't help but let out a hiss of pain as he winced.

"Now now…do not be so quick to judge. The younger ones are the easiest to mold to my…preferences. I will admit she is a little older than my normal fair but oh I have seen her exquisite body and I shall have to sample myself before I turn her over." With a final smile he pressed the barrel down against Mamoru's throat. "If you're lucky you'll live just long enough to witness us accomplish our goal. I find a shot through the throat provides one of the worst deaths I have ever seen. Good bye Mr. Chiba."

Mamoru heard the click of a gun and then bang. Everything went white.

A/N: I know I am a terrible person. You people must hate me. I mean seriously almost a decade and then I pull this shit? Anyway hope you enjoyed. Glad I still have a few fans from when I originally started this story. I have decided to finish it as I said at the top. I'm not sure how quickly I will wrap this story up but I do know that I will eventually have to go back and reedit the original chapters to make it work with the current story line I have worked up to finish out this story.
