Ally's P.O.V.
3 months later, I had little Scarlet and 2 little bundles of joy named Sky and Lily. I had Cassidy living with me. She already had a son named Garrett. I was doing laundry with her, the kids asleep with their earmuffs on when we heard a bang. I grabbed the 2 year olds and my friend snatched the twins and hid inside the closet. We heard a familiar voice yell, "Ally! I know you're in here! Come out now!"
Looks like counseling didn't help Austin. "I'll deal with this. Stay in here." I ordered. I dashed out, remembering to close where we were hiding to keep my closest friend and our kids safe. "Well, well. If it isn't Allison Dawson. Time to meet your fate." he pointed the gun at me. I didn't care what he had. I took the gun out of his hand and threw it out the window. "Oh come on! That cost me $200.00! And a background check. Do you know how hard it is to convince a guy that you were a victim of identity theft?"
"I don't give a fucking shit! You never do this again! Leave, Austin!"
"Well, you don't matter because you'll be out of the picture." Austin smirked, kicking my head. I was knocked out immediately.
I woke up to find my arms chained to the door.
And Austin had a knife.
I struggled as hard as I could to free myself, but was crushed and exhausted by failure.
"I want to see my children more. This is the only way." Austin whispered. "I'm sorry."
He lifted up the knife to stab me when Cassidy blocked his shot.
Austin and I screamed loudly as Cassidy fell to the floor, a knife lodged through her skull.
"Cassidy!" I cried. Austin stood there, confused. I struggled more and eventually heard one of the cuffs break. I snatched the keys from Austin's hand. "You have until I get to one to get your dirty, sorry ass out my door. 1."
I grabbed Austin by the collar and bashed his head on the nightstand. As soon as he tried to grab me, I kicked him in the gut and threw him out the front door. I then grabbed the remaining cuffs and and cuffed him to the tree.
I snatched my phone and dialed 9-11. I glanced outside. I had knocked Austin out when I threw him out, so I called for an ambulance and the police. They arrived almost immediately, arrested Austin, and took my best friend to the hospital, me following behind.
At the hospital, Cassidy was obviously not going to make it. She was stabbed in the head and had lost so much blood. She was as pale as a ghost and her son and I were on the verge of tears. "Ally..." she whispered. I approached the 19 year old slowly and said, "Yeah?"
"Never let that son of a bitch anywhere near the kids.." Cassidy growled. She really hated Austin's guts. Those kids were all siblings.
Austin had raped her too. But we still loved them all equally.
"Okay." I wasn't going to let him near them in the first place anyway. She needed to know that I wouldn't.
"Garrett..." Cassidy reached for her son.
"Yes, Mommy?" Garrett whispered, crying.
"I love you so much. Goodbye, you guys..." She then died, leaving Garrett and I to cry together.
"Goodbye, Cassidy." I whispered.
And I thought the day everything changed was the worst day ever.
I couldn't have ever been more wrong.
