Hey! So this is a one shot songfic of romione, set to the song You Are In Love by Taylor Swift. Make sure you listen to the song, or keep it in mind, while reading!
All rights go to Taylor Swift and JK Rowling.
She looked into his deep blue eyes that held so much emotion; she rarely saw that expression on his face, that expression that held so many unspoken words. That expression was just for her.
She reflected the past 8 years; so much had grown and evolved between them. From a young red-headed boy in hand-me-down robes teasing her about studying too much, to the loyal best friend who was always fiercely defensive of her, to the awkward teenager
who was too scared to ask her to the Yule Ball, to the brave, kind-hearted fierce friend who would always come back.
She thought about the time they spent together sometime after the war, the way they had gone to muggle London in the dead of the night, just joking around, having fun.
He had never given her any obvious indication as to what the depth of his feelings were, but that was okay. For she understood.
They spoke about everything, from the most trivial topics to more serious ones. She just found it so easy to open up to him, no one had ever made her feel that way before. As they spoke, she found herself absentmindedly fiddling with the gorgeous necklace
he had bought her;she associated it with solace and comfort.
As they stood together, looking up at the night sky, their shoulders brushed against each other; ever so slightly. That simple moment, one that would seem trivial from an outsiders point of view, meant infinitely more to her that she ever thought it would.
That slight touch sent an electric shock down her arm, one different from the feelings she received when they kissed. It was then that she knew.
That night, they went back to the Burrow and fell asleep on his narrow childhood bed which was covered by a Chudley Cannons bedspread. He had always expressed dissatisfaction of his small, shabby room, but to her, it was perfect, but it was evident that
his cooking skills were not so.
She fearfully let go of all her past fears and misgivings, for she knew, deep down, that he was the one.
They never did much, never voiced any big thoughts of the future, about how to go about from where they were. They didn't need to.
Everything was so new and so special, every kiss, every hug, every moment of interlocked hands. They still fought, sure, but that's just the way they always would be. They always made up in the end.
One night, he woke up, shook her, and said, out of the blue "Whatever happens, wherever this goes, you will always be my best friend. You know that, right?"
"Always." She had replied, for she was now convinced about his feelings as well.
Everything was perfect, like a fairytale or a cheesy romance novel. He was smitten, and so was she. She finally understood what people mean when they say that love can drive one crazy.
"I love you, Hermione Granger."
"I love you too, Ronald Weasley."
OH MY GOD. That was the cheesiest and most romantic and fluffy thing I have EVER written. Anyway, if you enjoyed it and are a big swiftie (like me) make sure you review and favorite the story!
