Chapter 13:
Third Person
Location: Park
Conner was sitting on a park bench when Alex arrived.
"Hey," Conner said, standing up and smiling at Alex.
"Hi," Alex said.
"Listen, I want to-" they both started and then laughed.
"You first," Conner said.
"Conner...You're Superboy," Alex said, shaking her head.
"Alex, I-" Conner tried.
"Let me finish," Alex cut him off, "I knew you were hiding something from me...granted I thought it would have been a jealous ex, but-wait you don't have like some jealous super ex do you, 'cause I can't handle that. I barely handling this, if you-"
"Your rambling," Conner said, smiling.
"Of course, I'm rambling...I'm nervous. I don't know what to say," Alex said.
"Say you don't hate me," Conner said, stepping closer to Alex.
"I could never hate you," Alex said.
"Tell me you still like me and I haven't scared you off," Conner said, taking another step forward.
"Like you could scary me off," Alex said, rolling her eyes.
"Good," Conner said, and then he was kissing her. Alex didn't care that he was a superhero or that he'd lied to her the for weeks. All that she cared about was that he was here with her.
"Now tell me," Alex said, when he pulled away.
"Anything," Conner said.
"Tell me I won't lose you...that you're not going to disappear because I know secret," Alex said, "And I swear I won't tell your secret, but I need you to be honest with me from now on."
"Okay," Conner said.
"Okay," Alex said, smiling.
"Okay," Conner repeated, and then her to a nearby bench and told her everything not leaving out a single thing. He told her about Cadmus and Yound Justice and even some of the missions he'd gone on. He ended by telling her about the last two weeks.
"We'll, you've had a crappy time haven't you," Alex said, after a moment of silence. That made Conner chuckle. No matter what, Alex would always make him smile.
"I can't go back, Alex," Conner said, frowning, "Superman has been looking for a way to get rid of me since day one, and now he has one."
"But the Flash, Black Canary, and even Batman are on your side," Alex said.
"That's not enough," Conner said, sighing and putting his face in his hands. Sphere, still in her motorcycle form, beeped, and Alex watched wide-eyed as Sphere transformed into her true form.
I HAVE AN IDEA...
"You weren't kidding about your bike," Alex said, and then Wolf walked up, "Or the wolf."
"Her name's Sphere, and Wolf is…well, Wolf," Conner said.
"Hey Sphere," Alex said, as Sphere rolled over to her and Wolf walked up to her and licked her.
"What's your idea, Sphere," Conner asked.
THE WATCH AND THE COLLAR
"What about them," Conner asked, after he looked down at his wrist watch.
PRESS THE RED BUTTON ON
YOUR WATCH…ALEX SHOULD
STAND BACK.
Alex and Conner shared a skeptic look, before Alex walked a little ways away. There was a bright flash of light, that cause Alex to shield her eyes.
'Please don't turn into a girl….Please don't turn into a girl….Please don't turn into a girl,' Alex thought chanting as the light dimmed down.
The light cleared, and in place of Conner and Wolf was a boy with green eyes and blonde long hair and a white labrador.
"Conner," Alex asked, looking him up and down.
"Yes," Conner said, looking down at himself.
"Is it wrong that I'm still attracted to you," Alex said, walking up to him.
"Not exactly sure," Conner said.
"This might actually work," Alex said.
"One problem through…We need a place to stay," Conner said, and looking at Sphere and Wolf, who was currently looking very confused, for a dog anyways.
"I think I can handle that," Alex said, pulling out her phone and hitting speed-dial.
"Hello."
"Nicole, I need you to ask your boyfriend for a favor," Alex said, looking back to Conner, Wolf, and Sphere(who had changed back into her motorcycle form), "A big favor."
