Chapter 16:
Third Person
Location: Mount Justice
Time Jump: SIX WEEKS
"Okay, I'm positive that this kid has some Batman DNA in him," Flash said, after reading the teams report on their process with finding Conner.
"I'd buy it," Green Arrow said, "That kid has vanished. No one can find this kid...Not INTERPOL. Not the team…Hell, we have six magicians, three telepathic aliens, and Batman and that still can't track him."
"Language," Black Canary said, rolling her eyes; as Batman said, "I'm not apart of that search."
"Seriously?...We're all over the age of thirty," Green Arrows said, then looking at the Flash, "Possiblely."
"Hahaha...You're hilarious," Flash said, dryly.
"Okay," Superman said, standing up, "Enough we need to have the meeting."
"Okay well then recap what we know," Flash said.
"Someone is clearly targeting Superman," Wonder Woman said.
"Whoever this is is building either a Doomsday device-" Black Canary started.
"That is either powered by or uses Scandium Salpharanium," Batman said.
"How-" Flash began to question.
"A cargo ship was found abandoned off the coast of Port Angeles, Washington," Batman said, "Their was a radiation reading that matched Scandium Salpharanium by 79.35%."
"What is 'Scandian Arabian'," Green Arrow asked, butchering the chemical compound's name.
"Scandium Salpharanium-It is a synthetic component of Kryptonite. It the combination of Silver, Red and Gold Kryptonite in one," Batman said.
"Which is a dangerous mix," J'onn said.
"Put it next to Superman and you have a rage-filled, hallucinating, super-powered alien without the ability to heal on his own,"
"Which also sounds like a prefect reason as to why Conner is not involved in whatever this all is," Black Canary said, turning to Superman, "Kryptonite hurts and affects him just as much as it does you."
"Then why did he run," Superman countered.
"Because you were trying to lock him up like a criminal," Flash muttered.
"Moving on," Green Lantern-John-said, see the forming argument.
"Who makes that stuff," Hawkman asked.
"LexCop used to have a few labs, and Cadmus has one in Washington, however all they deal with is Green Kryptonite," Batman said.
"Then who," Hawkwoman asked.
"What's the million dollar question," Batman said.
"So basically to sum it all up," Flash said, and then countered out on his fingers, "We don't know the who. We don't know the why. We don't know the what. All we know is that the what is a very, very, very bad what...Which is aimed at Superman."
"And possible Conner," Black Canary chimed.
J'onn, seeing that the argument between Black Canary and Superman was about to beginning again and get heated, said, "Let's move on to the next part of the meeting."
"Which is," Hawkman asked, glad to be turn the meeting away from a fight.
"New members," Batman said, throwing files onto the table.
~YOUNG JUSTICE~
Third Person
Location: Mount Justice
It was quiet at Mount Justice. The team was given the night off by Black Canary, so everyone was dress in their civilian clothes. M'gann was in the kitchen baking her fifth batch of chocolate-chip, strawberry cookies. Artemis was on one of the couches in the living area, polishing her arrows. Dick typing away on his laptop (probably hacking into something super top secret, if Wally had to guess). Kaldur was looking over in the corner by two free-stand, clear white-boards, where they had put up the information the had from both Conner and the robotic thiefs (M'gann had see police do this on the television and wanted to try it out). Wally was on the couch, looking at the information too.
"I've gotta figure it out...I've gotta figure it out," Wally chanted, staring at the board..
"It might help if to not doing what you're doing...You know, sitting upside-down," Artemis said dryly, looking up from her arrows and seeing Wally was sitting upside-down on the couch.
"I can't see anything," Wally said, flipping himself right side up, "There isn't a pattern of a like or anything...nothing that proves Conner is involved."
"Wouldn't that be a good thing that we can't connect this to Conner," Artemis asked.
"Not in this case," Robin said, not looking up from his laptop.
"The main point Superman is pushing is that there is no connection with Conner to anything and yet the robots went to him," Kaldur said.
"So basically, we are looking for a connection that prove there is no connecting," Artemis said.
"I feel that that will only cause more issues," M'gann said.
"It's like were trying to solve a puzzle without the picture or the edges with a riddle mixed in," Wally said.
"Then maybe we need more pieces to look at," Kaldur said, looking over everything they had on the board.
"And I know just were to get them," Dick said, closing his computer.
Author's Note
I am so sorry I haven't been updating. I got so busy with classes and stuff that I completely forgot about my story. I'm going to try to be better, but please be patient with me. I have a story line for where I want the story to go, so figures crossed from updates.
Also, I've made a few notes about the story:
1. Happy Habor is now about three hours away from Mount Justice. I figure is was weird if Conner was in the exact same city as the team, and they didn't realize it was him.
2. Conner now goes by Conner Christopher Ghostley. His appearance is a boy with tan skin, green eyes and shoulder length, wavy blonde hair which is very healthy. He is 5' 9" and has a muscular build. He usually wears jeans and an open flannel shirt with a plain t-shirt underneath.
3. Nicole's boyfriend's dad owns a bike garage and is letting Conner live in the apartment above the garage and work there.
