Superman accepts Superboy from the beginning everything is going great until Superboy's new power's start to develop and they get out of control. Lex Luthor manipulates him to go rouge and he starts to attack the people he loves. Author's note inside. Rated M for violence and sex.

32. Endgame

OK so! Yes Impulse/Bart. No Beast Boy.

Darkest, Before the Dawn, Runaways, War, Summit, Endgame and adding a couple of my own. I put the episode name on them just for you and a summary (thank you Wikipedia) of what happened, I know the dates are completely off but at least it's finished.

…Darkest

Kon stares at Artemis's hologram, he still couldn't believe she was gone, his ears pick up footsteps, he turns and dodges an ice attack and is tackled by Tommy Terror.

"Terror move!" Icicle Jr yells out, as he sends out an ice blast freezing Superboy.

Superboy breaks free of the ice tomb Terror puts a collar on him, Superboy goes to punch him, Tommy simply grabs his fist crushing it.

"Sorry son, collar's done shut off your powers."

Superboy lands on his knees in pain.

"And that's not all it can do." Icicle Jr says with a smile as he presses a button in a remote control shocking Superboy knocking him out.

"Don't know about you Jr but I'm harboring some old resentments against this boy."

"Oh yeah, let's finish him."

"Belay that." Kaldur says to them looking at Tula's holo statue. "Take him, the Light wants him."

Terror and Jr. groan as Tommy picks him up putting him over his shoulder.

Atlantic ocean…lab

Kon wakes up strap down, he blinks a couple of times, trying to clear his vision, there was something keeping his mouth open, his head was strapped down on the table, he could hear clicking some kind of language. He closed his eyes as a green laser was pointed at him scanning his body. He tensed up as something touched his leg and he could hear a drill turning on.

"Now in this lab we have The weapon."

Kon eyes shifted to someone speaking English.

"And what good is Superboy to you? He's a kryptonian hybrid."

"We've been trying to clone him, unsuccessfully but with his DNA it'll be much easier."

Kaldur flinched as the drill quickly broke through the skin. "And what is that for?" he asks unfazed as Kon screamed.

"Bone marrow."

"We'll have an army of Superboy's and metahumans."

"Good for you."

"And the Light."

"And what of Blue Beetle?"

"That particular specimen does not concern you or your masters the Light and frankly neither does blue Beetle. He may be human but he is of the Reach."

"As you say."

"The new test subjects?"

Kaldur turns to Superboy screaming as they put a needle in his eye, as he tries to struggle, they start to walk out of the room.

"Soon to be on the way, my best operative oversees the shipment." Kaldur tells him trying not sound worried.

"Gratitude."

Kaldur turns to see Superboy screaming as they put a needle near his eye, keeping his eye open with their gloved hand Kon tries struggle as the needle moves closer, the door whooshes and closes but he still hears Kon's scream.

…Before the dawn

"What else do we need?"

"A tooth."

"Alright." A Reach doctor grabs a pair of pliers and tries to take off a molar, Kon screams and groan, the pliers are thrown out of his hand and gets knocked out.

"Hey, it's just us." Robin says looking down at him.

Robin and Batgirl in their civilian clothes try to break him free.

"I got it." Batgirl says as she pulls out a little bat from her belt and puts it on the collar a spark goes off, Kon gets his powers back.

Kon breaks free, pulling his arms from the metal, first he takes off the pincers keeping him mouth open, then rips off the metal from his head and his feet. "What the hell happen?"

"Long story, let's get you out of here." Robin tells him.

"Any chance you guys got an extra pair of jeans or something." Superboy says standing up in white trunks.

"Sorry." They both say.

"Let's just go."

"Can you walk?" Robin asks as Batgirl takes a look around all of the information just up on the monitors.

"I don't know." He says getting up from the table. "Yeah." He says standing.

"Good, cause we gotta run."

They run out of the lab, Superboy stops looks at the lab, he puts his hand on the wall sending a blue shock wave destroying it. "Now we can go."

'Docking bay is secure.' Ravager says in the mindlink wearing a suit of armor taking off her helmet.

"Alright people let's move!" Wonder girl yells out.

'Miss Martian what is your location?' Ravager asks in the mindlink. 'Miss Martian?' she asks. "The link's down, I'm going in." she says as she runs in the ship, she gets knocked back.

"Apologizes meat." A Blue beetle look alike says as he puts his hand on the wall, closing the two exits.

Superboy gets dizzy and puts his arm around Robin as they enter the docking bay with Ravager she looks at them.

"You ok?"

"fine."

"Listen um Black Beetle, your totally out numbered." Wonder girl yells out pointing at him. "Open those doors now and we'll go easy on you."

"You, will go easy on me?" Black Beetle says as he starts laughing.

"Oh that is not a good sign." Bumblebee says.

Superboy stands up straight and sighs, Wonder girl attacks first and gets thrown back first along with Batgirl, then Lagoon boy, Superboy joins them. Black Beetle knocks them back with a swing of his arm, Lagoon boy lands on the wall, Superboy shakes his head a little then charges at him punching him in his battle armor skin, Black Beetle gives him a punch on his chin knocking him back making a crate.

Wonder girl flips in front of him, kicking him hard on his chest landing on the floor then goes to take a swing at him, Black Beetle grabs her fist something cracks as she yelps in pain then gets punched back with Superboy she holds her stomach in pain.

Ravager gets up from the floor pulls out both of her swords from her back she starts swinging them around making small cuts on Black Beetle's armor, he tries to punch her she swiftly moves out of the way anticipating his attacks on her. She flips behind him stabs him with both swords she gasps as they both break, she looks at them shocked, Black beetle punches her to the floor knocking her out.

Bumblebee starts attacking him with her singers they do nothing as he puts his arm into a sonic weapon sending her knocking her out in her tiny form.

Batgirl and Robin start throwing batarags at him as fast as they can, Black beetle turns to them and Lagoon boy slams both of his fists into his back in his inflated form. Black beetle somehow grabs both of his writs and shocks him lets him go then sends him out with a sonic blast. Both Batgirl and Robin pull out their tasers and shock him from behind. Black Beetle unfazed turns his head to them as his back becomes a staple gun.

"Look out!" Batgirl yells out as they both drop their weapons jumping out of the way.

Robin not as fast gets stabled to the wall, Black Beetle smiles.

A kid who was trapped grabs a gun from one of the fallen guards that Ravager had taken out, Shimmer kicks him back to the wall. Shimmer turns to Black Beetle with a nod, Black beetle smiles at her. Batgirl starts to attack her, Black beetle pulls up his arm to attack Batgirl with his plasma gun.

Both Superboy and Wondergirl see this and get up jumping him to the ground.

…

'Miss Martian is the link back on?' Nightwing asks in a panic. 'Good, what's going on!?'

'We're fighting Black beetle and shimmer. Lagoon boy, Robin and Bumblebee are already down, and-Kon look out! Superboy's down, it's just Batgirl and me now.'

'Miss Martian you have to get in there!'

'What? How?'

'Density shift!'

'Right, right. I can do that. I can still do that.'

Black beetle shoves Wondergirl to the door and sees Miss Martian density shift, he puts his hand on the door and alters the door's density knocking M'gann out.

"What did you do to her!?"

"Shifted the density of the door wasn't quite prepared for that was she? But don't be jealous I can put you halfway to the door too. Half-way, the hard way." Black beetle tells her as he pounds Wonder Girl against the door until she is unconscious, and rounds on Batgirl just as she defeats Shimmer.

Blue Beetle opens the bay door, then the door to the Bio-Ship. Since he is still dazed, Jaime gives the Scarab full control of the armor to battle Black Beetle, and attacks. Batgirl meets Nightwing at the Bio-Ship entry port, hands him Bumblebee and tells him to be ready to fly the Bio-Ship out once she has everyone on board.

Black Beetle dominates his battle with Blue. Jaime takes control again, jetting Black Beetle into the ceiling, but Black Beetle soon regains the upper hand. Shimmer awakens and accidentally vaporizes a piece of the ship's hull she was touching, flooding the bay. Impulse tries to go after him but is knocked out by an influx of water. Batgirl orders the hatch sealed. The Bio-Ship detaches from the Reach vessel.

The Beetles battle with scythe arms inconclusively, then form giant energy cannons. The beams meet and build up to a blast that knocks Blue out of the hole in the hull. Black Beetle rescues Shimmer and seals the breach.

The Reach ship opens fire. Lagoon Boy enters the water to pick up Blue, and they are collected by the Bio-Ship, which then flees the scene. Blue Beetle wakes up to see Impulse looking down at him. He urgently tells Bart he is still him; Bart is not surprised. Nightwing congratulates his team on a job well done. He offers Miss Martian the helm, but she does not respond.

"You ok?" Ravager asks Superboy who was sitting on the floor looking at M'gann who wasn't saying anything.

Kon nods. "Yeah, just tired."

"What did they do to you?"

"You don't want to know."

"Ok."

"I just want to go home." Kon says slightly shaking his head out of the inhumane medical procedures. Ravager hissed, Kon looks at her. "What?"

"It kinda got, blown up."

"You gotta be kidding me."

"No, Kaldur blew it up."

"Can't a guy get a good night sleep after done some pretty intimate medical procedures?"

"Guess not."

"Don't worry I have a place in mind to get some shut eye." Nightwing says overhearing their conversation. "Let me update Captain Atom."

…MARIANA TRENCH

Unbeknownst to all, dozens of Reach spacecraft have gathered deep at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.

Bludhaven…warehouse

"Oh of the love of-what the fuck is your problem?!"

"MY PROBLEM!? Some three eye alien kicked my ass after I was brutally cut on with a scalpel and my bed is a cot!" Kon yells at her. "And Megan's been acting weird."

"Ok you and me, we're gonna go out, we're gonna dance, chat up some girls and guys, because you are getting on my last nerves."

"I would love that, except I have no clothes because my house got blown up!"

"Fine shopping first it is." Rose says as she starts to walk off. "You are so dramatic."

…

"You should be way more happy than this."

"Why?"

"You have like 30 phone numbers, I have four." She says picking up four napkins.

"Well you should have told me we were going to a gay bar."

"Yeah well I wanted it to be a surprise plus I thought you'd freak out or at least raise an eyebrow."

"I have had sex with guys before."

"I did not know that."

"I am too fucking curious to sit around and not try when I can. Guys are intriguing. So are chicks."

"Amen."

Kon looks at her, she smiles as she drinks her glass and licks her lips.

"Can I just say you look so awesome in a skirt?"

"Thank you, can I say how hot you look in that shirt?"

"I told you it's too small."

"It's supposed to be tight."

"I'm afraid I'll tear it." Kon says flexing his biceps, Rose smiles and chuckles quickly stops. "Did you just laugh at something I said."

"No."

"You did."

"No, I smiled which is polite."

"You totally laughed."

"Oh shut up."

…Hotel room

"Admit it, you've never had sex with a super powered person." Kon says laying down with an arm behind his head part of the sheet was covering his waist his other hand tracing a scar on Rose's ankle.

Rose shakes her head, siting up looking at him with a sheet covering her front. "No, but I will admit that I've never had sex with a hot dog with a bun." Kon looks at her completely confused. "Hey don't worry I kinda prefer it so much more dramatic when it finally made its appearance, I was like, whooOOOAAAAaaa!"

"Are you kidding me!?" he yells at her with a smile.

She laughs. "Did I mention it feels really, really good?"

"Really, really funny."

"So I guess this means I broke your celibacy."

"Nah, I finished it about 2 weeks ago."

"And what was the point of it again?"

"For me to form stable relationships."

"And how is that going?"

"I'll let you know." Kon sighs as he puts his both arms behind his head closes his eyes breathing calmly.

Rose turns to look at the tv which was on the whole time, she looked at some car commercial then turned back to Kon who was still in the same position, she looked down at his stomach looking at his perfected abs they could not make a more perfect body. She looks up at Kon who was looking at her, she leans over him and kisses his abs then chest. Rose crawls up to him kissing his abs before moving further up and giving him a kiss, which he returned.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" she says laying on top of him.

"Yeah." He says pull her hair back to see her face.

"I know it must have been hell for you, alone on that prison for 3 years, but…"

"But what?"

"But was there ever a day when you were just…happy? Happy to be away from everything, no pressure from your family, no need to be the person everyone else expects you to be. Was there ever a day when-"

"When I didn't feel lost, I felt free. There was something about being there... it felt pure. Those are the days that I miss."

"That's messed up."

"You would have loved it there."

Rose smiles. "I would have."

…Warehouse

"Something is not right." Mal says arms crossed looking up.

"Yeah." Dick says agreeing looking in the same direction.

Kon laughs as he talks to Rose on the upstairs living room as they watch a movie.

"That's not right." Mal adds pointing at them.

"Yeah." Dick makes a confused face.

Rose throws popcorn at the tv and Kon laughs, Rose turns to look at him and tosses popcorn at him.

"So not right."

"Yeah."

Kon opens his mouth, Rose grabs a hand full of popcorn and shoves it in his open mouth and laughs, Kon struggles to chew and laugh at the same time.

"That's just weird." Mal shivers.

"Yeah."

Rose puts her head on Kon's shoulder as they calmly sit and watch whatever was on tv.

"I can't watch this." Mal walks off.

"Yeah." Dick tilts his head a bit to the side, wondering if what he was looking at meant what he thought it meant and if it did, how the hell did it happen.

…

"I'm in the need to punch something, you got anything for me?" Superboy says hands on his fist.

"Red Volcano is trying to reassemble Amazo." Nightwing says.

"Ooo that sounds fun." Superboy says with a smile. "Where at?"

"STAR labs in Taos, Blue Beetle is already there."

"Cool, I'll be back up."

"I'll tell him."

Runaways…Toas

"Umm, doesn't look like an evil robot is attacking." Virgil says looking around the quiet building.

The ground starts to shake, the fall on their butts as Blue beetle and Superboy come flying out with two made of rocks fist and explode. Both Blue beetle and Superboy land with a groan. Red Volcano comes out of the ground then Volcano creates a sinkhole beneath Beetle, then has the hole close over from the sides, burying him.

"Jamie." Tye says shocked.

Superboy sits up as Volcano creates another sinkhole as the ground splits open under Superboy and he falls into the hole with a yell and gets wedged in, he starts to struggle pulling himself up Volcano stands above, looking down into the hole at Superboy. Red Volcano pushes his palms towards each other but Superboy uses his TTk power so to not get crushed yells out.

"You cannot beat me half breed." Red Volcano tells him as he starts to

Everything goes completely dark until Superboy's eyes begin to glow red using his heat vison and the earth starts to shake around them. An enormous pillar of fire erupts from the hole below him and Red Volcano is sent flying back. The runaways shield their eyes from the bright fire and they look up when it has dissipated. Red Volcano looks at up as Superboy rises from cloud of debris on a whirlwind, surrounded by a blue aura of his TTk.

"You cannot beat me!"

Superboy spins and throws an arc of air at Red Tornado. He rises up on a earth pillar to dodge it, and Superboy chases after him, ripping up the ground below as they fly away from the foursome runaways.

"Did that just happen?"

They nod including Sam.

"We have to save Blue beetle." Virgil says using his static to pick up a manhole and levitate with it.

"How? I can't teleport where I can't see and your powers wouldn't be of any use either." Ed says to him as they run to the broken rocks.

"I'll save Jamie, you guys just follow the robot and that guy, make sure no one else's gets hurt." Tye tells them, as he gets on his knees looking at the giant pill of rocks. They look at him, he looks back at them. "GO!" he yells out, they leave.

…near the forest

Superboy and Volcano still battling, Superboy flying around, while Volcano stood his ground on a land pillar. Ed teleport near them, Sam propels herself towards them, and Virgil uses his static levitating towards them with the same manhole looking at the fight.

Volcano sends out three large boulders at Superboy from behind as he uses heat vision trying to cut the rock that he was using as a shield and gets hit from behind landing on the ground. Superboy moans and gets up as Volcano tosses more rocks at Superboy, he leaps away and does some backflips to avoid several rocks then flies back up but a hand made of rock grabs hold of him he tries to break away from it, then turns into molten lava Superboy screams as it burns him as he struggles to get free it covers him whole then turns back into black rocks freezing.

Red volcano moves along with the pillar back to Stars labs.

…inside S.T.A.R.S labs

In STAR's vault, Red Volcano tears though the Amazo crates, but is unable to find the head. Eduardo tells him the League sent the head somewhere else for security, so Volcano decides to take Eduardo's head as compensation. Before Volcano can touch Eduardo, however, Ed teleports in next to his father, then teleports them both outside the vault.

Eduardo is stunned his son was able to teleport them both, Ed tells him he was motivated. Both are crippled with pain, but Virgil and Sam arrive to defend them. Sam propels herself at Volcano, but bounces off ineffectually. Virgil attempts to use his powers on Volcano, but they are reflected back on him. Volcano prepares to retaliate, when Tye's hand comes through the ceiling, grabbing Volcano. Tye throws the robot in the air and Beetle hits him with a plasma blast, sending him crashing into the ground. When the smoke clears, the robot is undamaged.

"Burning Plasma? Really? You don't seem to grasp whom you're dealing with." Red Volcano reminds the young heroes of his name. "The name is Volcano!"

He then creates huge spikes of rock from the ground. Beetle is able to dodge them, but two impale Tye's astral form, causing it to dissipate. Beetle moves to attack Volcano but is caught in a ball of lava.

Blue Beetle emerges unscathed. "You don't seem to grasp who you're dealing with ether." He tells him as he blasts the robot with his sonic cannon. "Didn't like that? how about we up the decibel."

Volcano is slowed down, but the sonic waves also hit the laboratory, and the building begins to crumble.

"Blue stop!" Superboy yells as he lands looking at him.

"Not yet!" Blue Beetle yells at him.

"I said stop!" Superboy yells at him putting his hand on his shoulder, Blue beetle makes another sonic cannon in his other arm aiming it at Superboy's head, knocking him way back.

"Hey!" Tye yells out at Jaime.

"You ok dude?" Virgil asks

Superboy gets up, ringing in his ears, buzzing in his head. "Oh he did not just attack me !" he says angry, then turn to look at the building crumbling down.

"Just how well do you know this guy?" Virgil asks Tye.

"Hey! Jamie is fighting an evil robot cut him some, ok?!" Tye yells at him.

Superboy stands up, blood in his ears. "We have bystanders to save." He flies off into the building the others follow.

Inside the building, Sam rescues Eduardo, using her powers to bounce them outside. Eduardo asks after his son, and Sam reassures him before heading back inside. Meanwhile, Ed guides Neut and a group of guards to a door. Neut thanks Ed for coming back, though Ed insists it's temporary. Virgil magnetically lifts some girders trapping Burton, and helps him out, as Sam takes Dr. Wilcox. As Volcano and Beetle continue to battle beside the building, Virgil and Sam put their rescuees down by the STAR Labs sign, and Wilcox thanks them both. The pair then meet Ed and Tye as they emerge from the building.

"I did a quick scan, we've got everyone out." Superboy tells them before they head back inside the building.

Volcano is blasted through the building, landing nearby. Blue Beetle flies in through the hole and moves to attack, but before he can, Volcano traps the four runaways and Superboy in fists of earth.

"Time to sacrifice you're victory and save the meat bags like a good hero." Volcano tells him.

"You shouldn't stereotype!" Beetle tells the robot, as he generates an energy weapon on his chest and blasts Volcano. Beetle then charges after the robot, leaving the runaways to free themselves with their own powers. Superboy uses his strength to break free of the rock.

"Your friend was going to sacrifice us!" Ed angrily tells Tye.

Tye had no answer.

Beetle and Volcano continue to fight, and Volcano manages to grab Beetle. Beetle creates a drill on his arm and drives it into the robot's chest. Initially ineffective, Beetle pushes a sonic cannon into the hole created and fires, causing the robot to explode.

"Done." Beetle says as he joins the runaways and Superboy. "Now we need to get you to Green Beetle."

"Jamie, I'm not sure." Tye begins to protest.

"Tye this is not up for debate." Jaime angrily rejects any argument. "We need to go now!"

"What the hell are you talking about? They are not going anywhere with you." Superboy says getting in Beetle's face. "We're going to have a very long conversation about what you just did, and it won't be a fun one."

"Get out of my way."

"Make me."

Before the fight begins they are interrupted by arriving reporters. As the emergency services arrive, the reporters begin asking Beetle questions, and the runaways take the opportunity to disappear. Superboy makes his S go away, Blue Beetle gets distracted by them asking who he is, while Kon pats Virgil on his shoulder and they start walking away.

…

"Alright so where can I drop you guys off?" Kon asks them, they look at each other. "You have a plan right?"

"We're not exactly good at that."

"There's a STARS lab close by."

"No."

"Ok how about home?"

"Jamie said that they'd attack our families, that we'd be putting them in danger."

"That's true." Kon sighs. "Alright, well I'll put you guys up in one of my safe houses."

"You have a safe house?"

"Yeah, you guys can come up with a plan and I'll come by and make sure you haven't burned the place down, sound good?"

"Sounds like a plan."

Kon smiles at them, he looks at Sam. "You ok?"

"She doesn't speak English."

"I'm going to help you control your powers so you can go home and protect your family." Kon says in Japanese.

"Yes, thank you." Sam says with a smile.

"Alright, let's go." Kon says to them, they follow him. Kon turns to the street seeing a limo drive off he grins and waves. "Maybe next time Luthor." He mumbles to himself.

BLÜDHAVEN…warehouse

"He attacked me!" Kon yells out.

"You and Blue haven't had any team up's you probably just got in the way." Nightwing says to him.

"Are you kidding me!? He pulled his sonic cannon at my head!" Kon screams at him pointing at his head.

"Kon, he saved-"

"He destroyed STAR labs!" Kon yells at him, he puts his hands on his shoulder. "Dick, there is something wrong with him." he says trying to make him understand.

"I recruited Jamie myself, if he thought there was something going on, he would have told me."

Kon takes a step back. "Fine." He walks off, remembering he no longer has a room, but a cot and a curtain, he goes and lays down putting on his I pod listening to some music.

…Unknown location

"That boy is becoming a problem."

"He already was a problem."

"He should be dealt with, the fun way."

"How about we do to him, what we did to the League?"

"The weapon has never really cared about the public eye."

"I think it's time we make him care."

…Hotel room

"Hey maybe we should shower, together next time!" Kon yells from the bed of the hotel room flipping through the channels.

"Why would I want that?!" Rose yells from the shower with an open door.

"I can teach you so many things."

"Like what?" Rose says with a towel around her hair and lays down with him.

"Is Superboy really? Superboy? Or is he? Wait for it folks…A CLONE of Superman!" Gordon Godfrey yells from the Tv as a picture of him and Superman appear with an X on his face. "You heard it here first folks. Superboy isn't really human, he's a lab experiment."

"Hey are you ok?"

"That asshole."

…Watchtower

"Are you serious?! Do nothing? Lex Luthor totally outed me, don't get me started on the irony of that."

"Kon, let's just wait for it to die down, then you can go out-" Captain Atom says to Superboy.

"What? Keep hiding? No! I need to tell them the truth."

"And what truth is that?" Nightwing asks him. "You're going to make it worse, you know you are."

"You've change man, you used to be different. This whole leader thing has gone to your head."

"Before Superman left, he told me to make sure you didn't do anything stupid, this would qualify."

Kon rolls his eyes and walks off.

"We're serious Superboy, don't do anything. We can't afford another-"

"Fine! Whatever! As you command!" Kon yells at them as turns back around saluting them, then teleporting out.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Dick-"

"Batman can barely control him, you can't expect me to make him do what I want him too."

"Just try."

"That's like try to control a hurricane."

"Then don't get caught in the storm."

Smallville…Kent Farm

"Where is he? Where is Superman? Are they just expecting us to forget? Well not me." Gordon Godfrey says on Tv. "Where's the little hero? Is he hiding out? If he's the clone of Superman does it even who it is what it is-"

"Hey!" Conner yells as it turns off, he looks up to see Jonathan Kent with the control. "I was watching that."

"And why on god's green earth are you watching that garbage."

"What can I say, I'm a masochist."

"I know you've been through a lot Conner but it'll get better."

"What do you think Clark would do in this situation? Or better yet what would Superman do?"

"I'm not sure."

"You're his dad how can you not be sure?"

"I am his father, I taught Clark right from wrong but along the way he started to make his own decisions. But Clark is Superman. And Clark will always do the right thing. Of course, his definition of the right thing and mine may be different. He will always put everyone else before himself."

Conner sighs. "That's no help."

Johnathan chuckles. "Come on boy, help me clean up the stalls before dinner, Martha is making steak." He pats him on the back.

Maryland…Washington D.C

Cat Grant is interviewing a woman on the street in front of the White house as a mob of people had gathered around with signs.

"Oh, there's no point in discussing human rights, since he's not human, so he doesn't have rights. He doesn't even have a soul. And it's worse than that, because animals don't have souls, but they were meant to be here. This thing was never even intended by God to exist. It is an insult to everything in His creation."

…Metropolis

"Come out, come out where ever you are!" Parasite yells out as he shoots out lighting from his hands. "Superman! If you don't come out I will destroy your precious city!"

Superboy comes out of nowhere and punches him out. "That's enough of that."

"Superboy, that's just fine, get me ready for taking on the big guy."

"You're no match for the big guy."

"After I absorb your powers you won't be relevant anymore."

Superboy punches twice and shoots out two blue blasts of TTk trying to keep his distance. Parasite evades the attacks and Superboy follows up with a jumping roundhouse kick that sends an arc of TTk blast. Parasite ducks under it and evades another blast punch. Superboy kicks up a large rock at Superboy, but he leans out of the way, as well as avoiding another TTk blast by ducking.

Parasite laughs. "Little off your game kid?" he chuckles.

Parasite evades two blue blasts and another one, and then begins throwing lightning at him. Superboy evades them getting closer to him, and Superboy puts both his hands up and gives him a blasts Parasite jumps over and grabs him by the back of his neck.

"NO!"

"YES! You taste better than Superman." Parasite rejoiced, Superboy falls to his knees with Parasite still taking his powers and drops him to the ground. "Such power, so much power!" he shouted laughing.

Parasite starts swinging his arms around sending out TTk blats and laughs, he stars using his new heat vision. Superboy opens his eyes blood red, he gets up staring at Parasite as he punches a building then turns around.

"You're still alive? I thought I had absorbed all your life, no matter, I'll just do it again." Parasite super speeds grabbing Superboy by the throat.

"That's not going to work on me." Superboy tells him.

Superboy punches his side, Parasite screams out in pain he takes a step back. "Why won't you die!?"

Superboy punches him over and over and over making him bleed as he falls down.

"What's the matter? I thought you were going to absorb my life form and now you can't even get up? How do you expect to defeat Superman when you can't even beat me?"

Parasite screams and luges at Superboy, he kicks him in the head and looks at him passed out.

Superboy throws both arms into the air. "Woo-hoo!" he cheers.

"Get away!"

"Freak!"

"You have no soul!"

"Clone!"

"We don't need you!"

Superboy turns to look at the crowd that had gathered around in the broken buildings. "Where I'm I gonna go? I can't stop you from hating me, but I'm through running and hiding and being afraid!" he yells out at them pissed off. "I'm not gonna live my life like that anymore. They made me, and they trained me to be weapon, to defend this country. You say you don't need me, so why was it that people in power decide to create me? It's time for you to face me and take responsibility, instead of trying to sweep me away like garbage!" he tells them with glaring at every single person with their phones out. "I was made in America and I'm not going anywhere. So you call me a freak, you think I care? Today I'm proud to be a freak." He walks off.

"Freaks rule!"

"Freaks!"

They start to chant, Superboy smiles and flies off.

"I loathe that boy." Ambassador says standing next to Luthor and walks away.

Lex Luthor smiles down from his building.

War…

"Not sure we're doing much damage in the grand scheme. But Rocket is protecting Doctor Fate allowing him to maintain focus on save guarding Earth. Capitan Marvel, Green Beetle and I seem to have Mongul's attention." Captain Atom briefs Nightwing as he shoots down the guns in the Warworld ship.

"Good." Nightwing says. "Cause the Team is already inside."

…Watchtower

As the Team members deploy in a chamber on the Warworld.

Aquaman asks Nightwing if the Team have been detected. Nightwing explains that Blue Beetle was able to bypass the Warworld's security systems.

…WarWorld

"Alpha squad to Watchtower." Superboy reports in-Wonder Girl, Arsenal, Wolf and himself. "Green Beetles schematics are on the money. At least so far, we're en route to take down Mongul. No commander-the threat ends."

Blue Beetle reports for Ravager and Impulse. "Beta Squad is en route to the crystal key chamber we snag the crystal key and the threat ends."

"Gamma Squad is en route to remove Worldwar's power core. No power and the threat ends." Bumblebee reports for Gamma Squad, herself, Guardian and the Super-Cycle.

The three-pronged assault, devised with navigational input from Green Beetle, would succeed if any of the squads accomplish their objectives.

"Delta squad moving into position laying down fire cover for surface forces…now!" Batgirl reports in with Robin aboard the camouflaged Bio-Ship, helping out the League members.

…

In a Warworld corridor, Beta find themselves with nowhere to hide as a carriage arrives deploying a number of battle drones. The trio engage the drones,

"Beta to Watchtower we've been spotted the Warworld knows where here!"

…

"Fine by me! I like the attention!" Guardian yells out already under fire with the rest of Gamma. "At least a big alien death moon notices when I'm around!"

"Was that a slam on me?" Bumblebee says surprised. "In a middle of a mission?"

"Woman! When are you not in the middle of a mission?!" Mal yells at her.

…

Meanwhile, Alpha is also battling drones. Wonder girl not being able to attack puts up her bracelets up blocking the laser, Superboy runs forward and starts punching all of them out, he sees more coming and takes up a fighting position, when Arsenal takes out the incoming group with his rocket launcher without warning. Superboy jumps back taking cover.

"A little warning might have been nice." Superboy grunts dusting off his head and shoulders.

Arsenal shrugs his shoulders. "Take cover."

"You know what, you really are like Red Arrow." Superboy says to him, Arsenal glares. "Stings doesn't it?" he asks with a smirk. "Come on we're close!" he says as he runs off they follow.

The Alpha squad enters the command center and face Mongul.

"He is a big one." Arsenal says as Mongul gets off his chair walking towards them.

"This is your attack force? I'm insulted."

"Learn to cope." Superboy replies as they jump into action.

They attack him, but Mongul easily swats aside Superboy, Wonder Girl and Wolf, and is unharmed by Arsenal's rocket. Superboy appears out of the smoke to punch Mongul in the face, to little effect.

Mongul picks up Superboy. "Little Kryptonian." He says giant hand on his neck and shoulder. "So proud of your powers." He points a finger on the symbol on his shirt. "Did you truly believe that yours was the only race to come from a world with a red sun." Wonder Girl lassos Mongul, who easily pulls her in to knock her out with one blow. Arsenal hits him with a foam bolt, but Mongul quickly slams Superboy to the ground and frees himself. Wolf attacks, but Mongul grabs him. "The novelty of this has officially worn off." he says as he throws Wolf onto Wonder Girl knocking both of them out.

"Nap time ugly." Arsenal says as he fires a knock-out gas bolt.

"I like that it smells like victory." Mongul says completely unaffected by the gas.

Mongul charges at Arsenal, but is intercepted by Superboy. The delay is only momentary as Mongul slams Superboy's abdomen against his knee. He once again focuses on Arsenal, blocking the barrel of Arsenal's rocket launcher with his hand, and causing it to backfire.

"Do you really not understand? Your deaths today in the face of the Reach are a mercy. My Grand Laser emitter would have ended your world in a matter of minutes. Another Mercy but it seems the mercy's of Mongul are not appreciated so we will do this the hard way and the Warworld will unleash all of its weapons upon the Earth." He gives his speech as he sits back down on his chair, a vast swarm of missiles start to fly off. "You're welcome."

…Earth

"Earth's military leaders are mobilizing all national air defenses system against the assault from the rough satellite. Here in the US Homeland Security is urging citizens to remain calm and stay at homes rather than attempt evacuation." Cat Grant reports GBS from New York. "There is nowhere for us to go." She says sadly.

…Warworld

Bumblebee's attempts to disable to core by targeting certain circuits with her stings are thwarted; she tells Guardian the power keeps being rerouted. Mal tells her to reroute it somewhere useful. Bumblebee calls him a genius, and targets a new set of circuits.

…

At the command center, Alpha begins to wake up. Mongul calls in battle drones to deal with them, but as they arrive, Bumblebee completes her plan and a power surge overloads Mongul's control device. Mongul is dazed, and the battle drones clatter to the ground.

"He's rocked, take him!" Superboy yells for an all-out assault. Superboy attacks first, then Arsenal, Wonder girls punches him out, again Superboy punching him then bouncing back up punching him for the last time. "Wonder girl now!" he yells out, Wonder Girl moves in to restrain him with her lasso.

Wolf howls at their victory.

…Space

"All surface, weapons have been silenced is it over?!" Captain Atom asks on the com.

"Mongul is down and contained." Superboy confirms.

…Bioship

"Nice work Alpha." Batgirl says with a smile.

"Love to take credit, but we didn't do it his own machine stun him, I'm guessing with a little help." Superboy says over the com.

…Warworld

Meanwhile, battle drones in the power chamber deactivate as Bumblebee emerges from the core, grows to full size and embraces Guardian.

In the key room Blue Beetle takes the crystal key. "And I'll just take this for safe keeping."

Ravager puts away her swords and Impulse smiles at her, she gives him a nod.

…Watchtower

"Great job, everyone." Nightwing says exited. "Now rendezvous Asap so we can bring you home."

…Warworld

Beta and Gamma meet at the entry point, shortly joined by Delta.

"WOAH do we rock?!" Batgirl yells out.

"Girl we ROCK!" Bumblebee yells back.

"Was there ever any doubt?" Blue Beetle asks them.

"Not over here." Guardian says, then takes a look around. "Hey where's Alpha?" he asks.

"Try dragging along with the big bad, must've weighted like a metric ton, we're just a couple minutes out." Arsenal says over the com.

Impulse puts up his fist, Robin bumps it.

"I know we all did our part, but really you saved the day." Guardian says to Bumblebee. "You and that big beautiful brain of yours."

"Thanks, but it was your idea." Bumblebee says as she pats Sphere and it rolls away.

"I wouldn't call it an idea, more like a desperate cry for help."

Bumblebee chuckles. "Mal, you know I couldn't have done it without you."

"No, that's not true. You would have found a way." Guardian says to her holding her hand. "Karen, you were destined for great things and I haven't want it to admit it, to admit you just out grown me but we can't hold on to high school forever and I really am so proud of you."

"You know something, you are an idiot." She says putting her hand on top of his, she pulls him down. "But I'm an idiot too, I've been taking you for granted. When the things is knowing you're there for me makes all the difference." They kiss.

"Wow." Arsenal says as Wonder girl and Superboy hold onto a hefty Mongul, Wolf trotting along the group. "How do I get that reward." He asks, Wondergirl gives him a kiss on the cheek, he raises an eyebrow, then shakes off the surprise. "It's a start." He says as he continues walking.

"Well the gang's all here." Blue beetle says then hits Impulse on the back of his head with the crystal key, and fires his sonic cannon, knocking out Batgirl, Ravager and Guardian, he puts it at Arsenal, who jumps out of the way hiding behind Sphere.

"Blue what are you doing?!" Superboy yells out.

He then charges Superboy, sending him clear across the hanger and pins Wonder Girl to the ground with Mongul and staples her writs, she struggles to get free. Beetle puts the crystal key away in his back pouch. Robin then throws a birdarang at him from behind.

"No, not again." Arsenal whispers terrified, he takes a look around.

Bumblebee turns to look at him and realizes what he's thinking. "Arsenal no!" she yells out to him.

"I will not be taken again." He says as he opens the entry hatch.

Sphere is the first to go through, then Blue Beetle is sucked into the hatch, as Robin uses a birdarang to hold on while grabbing Bumblebee's hand and Wolf digging in his claws trying to stand his ground, they soon get sucked in but Beetle is able to close the hatch. He takes advantage of the chaos to blast Robin, Bumblebee and Wolf with his sonic cannon.

"Why?" Superboy says strain as he stands up shaky.

"Don't waste the oxygen hermano, there's very little left in here." Blue says to him.

Arsenal uses a rebreather to help with the thin atmosphere and moves to escape. Beetle tries to staple him, but Superboy takes the hit, allowing Arsenal to get away. Beetle knocks Superboy out, then ensures the crystal key is still in his possession. Observing through Blue Beetle's eyes, the ambassador reaffirms that they have acquired value

The hunt…Toas

The four liberated abductees, Virgil Hawkins, Tye Longshadow, Eduardo Dorado Jr., and Asami Koizumi, destroy things related to the Reach, including signs, posters, a billboard, a delivery truck for the Reach energy drink, and a water tower with Blue Beetle's face on it.

"Aw nice one Tye!" Virgil yells out. "You are seriously getting the handle of your power."

"Thanks Virgil but I'd rather get a handle on the scarab that turned my man Jamie into the Reaches little blue puppet."

Ed's cellphone rings, he pulls it out and looks at the screen.

"It Superboy?" Sam says with a smile.

"Hello, I'm Lex Luthor."

"The billionaire Lex Luthor?" Virgil asks looking over Ed's shoulder.

"The one, the only."

"Why are you-?" Virgil starts.

"How did you get this number?" Ed interrupts him.

"I keep taps on Superboy, for my own personal reasons."

"And what reason is that?" Virgil asks him.

"Personal, meaning none of yours."

"I'm hanging up now." Ed says about to close the phone.

"I wonder if the Reach can appreciate the irony of their own creations working against them." Lex Luthor blurts out as Ed was about to hang up.

"Hey! They did not create us, they kidnapped us." Ed snaps at him.

"And experimented on us, against our will." Tye says coming up on Ed's other shoulder.

"And with that in mind if you truly want to hit the reach where it hurts I believe I can show you the way."

Sam comes up bunching up with the three boys, they look at each other.

…Superboy's safehouse

"It's called Father box." Luthor says in the computer screen as the four teens gather around. "It can open a boom tube or a gateway to the Warworld and back again it is also programed to locate Kryptonian DNA."

"Kryptonian? You mean you're sending us after Superman?" Virgil asks.

"Superboy actually."

"Superboy was captured by the world thing?" Ed asks.

"No wonder we haven't heard from him." Virgil says.

"Plus eight other young heroes captured by the Reach." Luthor says putting up picture of Superboy, Wondergirl, Impulse, Ravager, Bumblebee, Guardian, Batgirl, Robin and Wolf.

"Those guys saved us from the Reach." Virgil points out.

"Precisely." Luthor comments. "Care to return the favor? And in the process strike a critical blow against the Reach?"

"Dude, you're asking us to go into the Warworld and rescue superheroes." Tye says to him. "If they got caught what chance do we have?"

"Misión suicida!" Ed says in Spanish, suicide mission.

"Kamikaze!" Sam adds in Japanese, suicide.

"I'm in." Virgil says determined, they turn to look at him. "There's no way the Reach expects us we have the element of surprise and our powers we're the only ones who might actually stand a chance. Besides we own them."

"My thoughts exactly."

"Fine." Tye sighs.

"You had me at we own them." Ed says.

Sam picks up the father box. "Dou yatte tsukau no?" she asks in Japanese. "How does work? Please."

"The Warworld shielding prevents father box from pinpointing Superboy's exact location from Earth but it can boom tube you a few miles of it." Luthor explains. "Once your inside it will lead you exactly to Superboy and the others then when you're ready it can lead you all home. Simply ask Asami and it will obey."

"The Warworld please." Sam says to it.

The four teens are instantly teleported into the Warworld.

…Warworld

At the Warworld, the four boom into the midst of a group of seven patrolling Reach soldiers. After pretending to surrender, they quickly take down the soldiers in a surprise attack. However, the alarm is raised, and the platoon of reinforcements arrive. They retreat, with the soldiers in hot pursuit.

At another section of the Warworld, Arsenal finishes recharging his bionic arm from another console when he hears the sound of the misfits' running battle with the soldiers. He watches Ed creatively take down his pursuers with a well-placed teleport, while Virgil complements Tye's "longshadow" being laser-proof. Tye corrects him-the astral form is laser-resistant-the beams from the stingers still stung him. Sam asks the Father Box to track Superboy, and Arsenal follows them from a distance.

…Warworld

In the docking bay of the Warworld, Nightwing performs another scan of the area.

"Haven't you already scanned every inch of this place?" Megan asks him as he walks around.

"Yeah but I'm obviously capable of miss obvious clues. I totally should have spotted evidence of Blue Beetles defection after Green Beetle fixed his scarab." Nightwing says blaming himself for his shortsightness. "Kon knew, he tried to tell me, and I told him to stay out of it."

"That's my fault." Megan says to him, putting her hand on his shoulder. "You asked me to scan Green's and I vouched for him without diving deep. I was so afraid to use my powers after what I did to Aqualad. I allowed Green Beetle and his scarab to feed me exactly what the Reach wanted us to believe so Blue trusted Green and was turned by him and somehow abducted the Team." She turns to look at him. "All on me."

Nightwing puts his hands on both her shoulders. "Except you never would have been in that position if I trusted you with Aqualad's deep cover mission. I put you, Aqualad, Artemis the whole Team in unacceptable danger."

"So, this is our guilt off. I say I messed up, then you say you messed up worse." Megan says to him, Nightwing lets her go. "Dick we both made mistakes and we both need to get over ourselves. Save the Team, then save Blue. As a certain 13-year-old was once fond of saying, that's just what we do. " she says with a smiles, Dick smiles back at her.

The pair hear a loud clang, and get into battle positions. A series of familiar bleeps clued them in on the identity of the intruder, and they open the lock for Sphere.

"Sphere!" Miss Martian says fling to hug her new friend as they were both ecstatic to see each other. Nightwing pats her. She gets an idea. "Can you take us to Superboy?" she asks.

Sphere responds by changing into the Super-Cycle.

"I think that's a yes." Nightwing says with a smile.

…

The runaways have finally located Superboy. The entire captured Team, Superboy included, are locked in stasis cells. Before they can do anything, Black Beetle attacks them and takes down everyone except the teleporter. Arsenal sneak-attacks Black Beetle, and seals off the room before reinforcements arrive. He tosses a laser stinger to Ed, and instructs him to keep Black Beetle off-balance so they can stand a chance.

Black Beetle is kept at an impasse by Arsenal and the others. He cannot get close enough to inflict any damage.

On the other side of the door, a boom tube opens behind a pair of soldiers who are observing the battle from a monitor. They are taken by surprise, and are taken out by electrified bolas. Deathstroke steps out of the boom tube, and locates the crystal key. He uses a Father Box to open the key's container.

The runaways take Arsenal's advice, attacking Black Beetle from all directions, keeping him off balance and confused of which one to attack. Meanwhile, Arsenal fumbles with the controls of a stasis cell. Losing patience, he blasts it open with a laser stinger, releasing Mongul. Black Beetle is apoplectic with rage upon seeing Mongul, Mongul himself is not happy upon seeing a Reach agent. Black Beetle abandons his battle, and rushes off to beat Mongul up.

The distraction gives the rescuers a free hand to finish their mission. Arsenal orders the others to free the Team, while he searches for the crystal key. It's missing, but he manages to find Guardian's shield, Wonder Girl's lasso, and the utility belts of Robin and Batgirl. With everyone free and Black Beetle busy with Mongul, he reopens the door he sealed earlier in the fight. Expecting to see a squad of soldiers, they instead see their bodies and Nightwing, Miss Martian and Sphere standing over them. Nightwing debriefs Arsenal on the Team members and the key, but Arsenal recommends a retreat before the Black Beetle/Mongul fight is decided.

…

The Team boards the cloaked Bio-ship, but Bumblebee tarries a bit—she has something to say.

"If it wasn't for Sphere we never would have found you."

"Is that true?" Superboy asks as she beeps. "Aw, you found me." he hugs her, she beeps again.

"I think congratulations are in order." Nightwing says. "No training, no guidance and yet you pulled it off. When we get back after a debrief there might be a place for all of you with the Team."

"Wow really?" Virgil says shocked and exited.

"So now that we saved your butts your cool with not being STARS Labs guinea pigs."

"Dude chill."

"Before we head back, we need to talk about Blue beetle." Arsenal says interrupting the conversation. "He betrayed us."

"Look who's talking!" Bumblebee yells out as she walks to the group. "Last thing I remember is you blowing an airlock without any warning! Nearly got us all killed and absolutely guaranteed our capture."

"Hey! After 8 years on ice there was no way I was getting grabbed again." Arsenal yells back. "And in case you haven't noticed my escape resulted in you being free now to stay here and complaint." He tells her. "So how about a thank you."

"Ok, we need to look at the positive side, we're a live and save." Superboy says getting in-between them. "That's all that matters."

"You're right Arsenal." Surprisingly Nightwing agrees. "Thank you." He adds. "And after we get back to Earth you're off the Team."

"What?"

"W-wait a minute."

"If it wasn't for Arsenal we wouldn't have rescued anyone."

Nightwing is unmoved. "That may be but this isn't the first time he's pulled this kind of stunt." He tells them. "Intentionally endangered the lives of Team in order to further his own agenda or guard against his own personal demons. It's unacceptable. So until you proven yourself a team player, you have no place on the Team."

"That is not fair, I've screwed up, so have you very recently I might add." Superboy snaps at him.

"We can discuss this further when we are not behind enemy lines."

The runaways look at each other.

"Sounds like there is nothing left to discuss." Ed says.

"See we don't need your help getting back to earth." Virgil says. "Or your offer to join the team, we have our own way of doing things."

"What do you say bro? Wanna ride with us?" Tye asks Arsenal.

"Sounds like a plan."

Sam takes out the Father box.

"Wait is that a-"

"Home please."

They teleport out before Nightwing could finish his sentence.

…Taos

The runaways, with Arsenal in tow, teleport into Kon's safehouse.

"So I'm I right to assume that congratulates are in order?"

"Luthor!"

Luthor groans. "Ah, you brought home a souvenir."

"Lex Luthor's got you running earns on the Warworld!" Arsenal yells not happy to see Luthor's face on the laptop. "This guy is the reason I'm missing eight years of my life and my arm!" the runaways look at him. "Don't you get it? He didn't care if you rescued the Team, he was using you!" he yells out to them. "As a distraction to lure Black beetle away from the crystal key so one of his other pawns could steal it."

"Deathstroke is more of a bishop actually, and I send you out to get Superboy because I do care about him. But I am not sure I understand the problem you rescued the heroes and dealt a blow to the Reach. Isn't that exactly what I promised you?" Luthor says rationalize it as fulfilling the letter of his promises.

Tired of being used, Sam tosses the Father Box on the laptop, and blows both away with a chi blast.

"No more promises." Virgil says.

In the wilderness, on a highway to the mountains illuminated by a starry sky, the five head out for parts unknown.

Intervention…

The Bio-Ship reaches the makeshift headquarters, and the Team disperses after reaching the warehouse.

Impulse makes a bee-line for Nightwing. "Look I know this missing key is important but we need to focus on-"

"Blue beetle." Before he can finish his sentence, Cat Grant finishes it for him as Nightwing turns on the television. "the so called Reach hero has dominated the news cycle, with the UN Secretary-Lex Luthor announcing his plan to present Beetle with the international medal of valor for saving the Earth form the War World."

"That's a load of good press for a traitor." Robin grumbles.

"Hey! Don't blame Blue he's just as much a captive of the Reach as we were." Impulse says defending Jaime. "We have to set him free." He pauses as he turns to the tv and back to him. "You know before he conquers the Earth and enslaves mankind."

Kon walks over to them as he stands by Nightwing.

"Just say it."

"Well, I shouldn't say I told you so cause it's not strong enough. How about I'm always right, and you should listen to whatever I have to say and never disagree ever, ever, for the sake of your manhood?"

Nightwing sighs.

…Hotel room

Kon drew Rose's body against his and covered her mouth with a searing kiss.

"Hey is it fun being Deathstroke daughter?"

"Well...kinda." she says not sure what to say. "Hmm..." she moans as he kisses her stomach.

"How is it fun?" he asks her.

"Guys who talk during sex are really unattractive." She tells him.

He looks up at her. "It's cause I like you. Isn't that cute?" he asks and goes back to kissing her running his hands on her body.

"For someone who likes me your hands and tongue sure are hard at work."

He looks back up at her. "Do you like me?" he asks her.

"Yeah I do."

He sits up and gives her a kiss on the lips she kisses him back she puts her arms around his neck running her hands through his smooth black hair. She loved his hair it was always smooth and his mouth it was always hot, his body radiated heat from everywhere.

"Fuck me." He pushes inside her, she screams out. "Fuck not so hard."

He smiles at her. "Hold on."

Rose looks at him and swallows the lump in her throat and rocked her hips side to side to bring Kon to his peak quickly. She already knew how to make him come.

When his tremors stilled, he collapsed on top of her, cocooning her in his arms. He pressed a kiss to her temple, but she didn't want his affection. She was a traitor. Rose squirmed to get away. He lifted his head to look down at her.

"You can get off me now." she said between clenched teeth.

"Sorry." He looked at her and pulled out and rolled off her, settling beside her on his side. She rolls over and grabs her jeans pulling out some cigarettes and a lighter, she lights it and lays back down smoking. Kon looks at her with an arm propped up.

Kon takes off the cigarette from her lips and gives her a kiss putting it out in-between his fingers.

"Don't put it out without asking."

"If you're smoking, we can't cuddle."

"What's with the sudden personality change?"

"I'm not the one that's started smoking."

"Hazard of being Deathstorke's daughter." She rolls over giving him her back pulling the covers up to her.

"Hey, I don't know if you know this but…" he pauses, he puts his forehead on the crook of her neck. "I'm half Luthor." Her eyes widen even though she already knew she had to act like she didn't, no one knew, she checked his profile and it wasn't on it. she rolls back to him, he keeps his head down on her shoulder. "When I was created in Cadmus labs, but the guys there couldn't figure out a way to make a complete clone of Superman, they half assed it and put in a human donor. Lex Luthor."

"I don't know what I'm supposed to say."

"Don't say anything." He kissed her shoulder and rested a hand on her naked belly, releasing a sigh of contentment.

After a long while, Rose slipped off the bed and looked down at Kon who sighed. "I'm gonna get cleaned up."

"Ok, I'll be here."

She went to the bathroom and had a quick shower taking off all the sweat and scrubbing off Kon's smell when she got out Kon was fast asleep she puts on her jeans and tshirt grabbing her keys and walk out of the room.

…Unknown location

Rose pulled up in her motorcycle taking off her helmet and leaving it behind as she walked into a warehouse and took a look around, she throw a knife at Tigress who moved her head a little to the right as it stuck to the wall behind her.

"You're late." Tigress tells her.

"I had things to do." Rose says to her.

"How's getting to know Superboy going?"

"Very well, though I get the feeling I'd get the same response if I was a man."

"No kidding."

"Good, you're here, then we can start." Kaldur says to the two girls.

"Where's my dad?"

"He's meeting us there, let's go."

Summit …Santa Prisca

In an underground cavern underneath the island, the lights flicker on. Black Beetle and Deathstroke enter the area from opposite sides. They look into the cave, and each other. Both nodding, they stand aside as their respective delegations file in. The Reach ambassador brings up the Reach delegation, with the head scientist and a handful of soldiers in attendance. The Light delegation consists of Vandal Savage, Ra's al Ghul, Black Manta, and the Brain, with Kaldur'ahm, Tigress, Ravager, Ubu, and Monsieur Mallah providing security.

The summit begins.

"Ambassador."

"Savage."

"As head of security for the Reach, I must insist no masks be worn at the summit." Black Beetle says pointing at the Light.

"Simply because you insist is no guarantee." Black manta mocks.

"Manta, if you wouldn't mind." Ra's al Ghul defends. "After all, we are among friends."

Manta groans and takes off his helmet.

Tigress follows and takes off her mask. "We are so in over our heads." She whispers to Kaldur touching her amulet.

"Shh."

Deathstroke takes off his mask and so does Ravager.

"Satisfied?" Ra's al Ghul grins.

Black Beetle's only reply is a grunt.

"Excellent." Ambassador says with a smile. "Then with these formalities out of the way-"

"Let us begin." Vandal Savage says with a smile.

"And the rest of the Light? Won't they be joining us?" Ambassador inquires.

"Our more public members are occupied, conducting damage control to mitigate your recent defeats." Ra's Al Ghul answers.

"And in any case, we are sufficient." Vandal Savage adds.

"Fine. I know you called this summit, but the Reach has come with grievances against the Light. Please explain how the young Earth champions were allowed access to the Bialyan scarab temple under your control?"

"If I may respond." Kaldur replies.

"No, you may not." Black Beetle interrupts. "Manta, keep your whelp meat silent."

"Beetle, your insolence grows progressively less charming."

"My friends, I think we can all agree that in recent days, no one has done more, sacrificed more, for both the Light and the Reach than Kaldur'ahm. That is why he was entrusted with security for this summit and why he's entitled to a voice here."

"Of course, he may speak."

"Thank you, Ambassador." Kaldur says as he steps forward. "We acknowledge your concerns over the actions of my former team but you must acknowledge that the Light could not have known the significance of the temple, or that ancient Earth magic could overcome Reach technology to free Blue Beetle and Green Beetle from your thrall. If the Reach had been more forthcoming about how long ago their scarab was sent to infiltrate Earth with a beetle warrior, the Light have made the connection to the temple, and certainly would have provided better security for it."

"I told you, I wanted to study how Blue Beetle scarab had crashed prior to putting it back on mode. If you had followed my advice, we would have known about the temple, and Ohh-" she stops talking as the Ambassador glares at her. "Apologies." She bows. "I spoke out of turn."

"No, my dear." Black manta says. "You were quite correct to call your master's tactics into question. The Light has provided everything the Reach required, and you aliens have let it all slip away."

"I don't believe this is a productive direction for our discussion." Ambassador says.

"No? Your public approval ratings are at a record low as our sales of the Reach drink, which you had hoped would enslave the populace." Ra's al Ghul replies.

"You allowed the young heroes you kidnapped to be rescued by the very teenagers whose meta-genes you enhanced." Vandal Savage points out.

"After allowing their escape as well." Black Manta adds.

"Worst of all, Blue Beetle and Green Beetle have slipped from your grasp and fallen into the hands of the enemy, the Justice League." Kaldur finishes.

"Rest assured, both Beetles will soon return to the fold. In fact, Black Beetle has been summoned to Earth from his post guarding access to the Key Chamber on the Warworld…"

"To kill Blue and Green." Black Beetle says.

"So that their scarabs may be reset and installed upon new host bodies that will forever be slaves to the Reach." The woman Reach scientist adds.

"So do not question us on that score or any other!" Ambassador yells out. "Remember, the Earth is now the property of the Reach and per our original agreement, the Light is merely our favored agents amongst the humans."

"Show the proper respect, or suffer the consequences." Black Beetle threatens.

"No agreement exists that makes a slave of Black Manta." He replies stepping forward.

"No agreement exists that guarantees the life of Black Manta." Black Beetle walks forward.

"Manta guarantees that himself." Black Manta says as a weapon pulls up from his suit of armor.

"It seems we have a stand-off." Ra's al Ghul says examining the situation.

"No, we don't." Black Beetle disagrees , he swats Black Manta aside.

Tigress, Deathstroke and Ravager pull out their swords and jump into action. During the fracas, Tigress blocks a stinger bolt that would have hit Ra's al Ghul. She is knocked back into him.

"Apologizes, Great One." Tigress says.

"Not necessary, child." He tells her. "You have my Thanks." but the immortal's eyes are drawn towards the Glamour Charm around her neck.

They continue to fight until Kaldur gets in-between his father and Black. "Enough! We are allies, not enemies any conflict between us only benefits our true opponents The Justice League and their sidekicks."

"Kaldur'ahm is quite correct." Vandal confirms.

"Agreed." Ambassador nods. "We must not allow petty disagreements to drive a wedge between us. Gratitude, Kaldur'ahm. Stand down, warrior."

"Ambassador!"

"Stand down." Ambassador orders.

"Should we not be concerned that Superman, Batman, the Lanterns, and the rest will soon return to Earth and once again sway public opinion to their side?" Kaldur asks.

"Superman and those accused with him will never leave Rimbor. The attack we forced them to make on that world, plus a few well placed bribes, has guaranteed their convictions." Vandal tells him.

"And the Green Lanterns are forbidden by Guardian treaty from returning to Earth now that we've convinced U N Secretary Luthor to welcome us here. As for public opinion, I wouldn't be concerned. Though the tide has turned to a certain degree, it will be a simple matter to build on the foundation of half-truths we have already used to discredit the League in order to discredit them again."

While the conversation is ongoing, Ra's al Ghul strides towards Tigress, focusing intently on her charm.

"Great One?" she questions as he grabs her Glamour amulet she gasps as he rips it off her neck.

"Artemis." Vandal Savage growls.

"I don't understand." Ambassador says confused. "I thought Artemis was dead."

"So did we all, but it seems Tigress is Artemis." Vandal says looking at her.

"This is a glamour charm, created I'd wager by Zatanna or Doctor Fate to hide Artemis' true identity." Ra's al Ghul explains.

"But Kaldur'ahm killed Artemis. If she lives, and in disguise as his lieutenant, then that means-" Ambassador says confused.

"That means Aqualad duped them all, including his own father." Black Manta laughs.

"Kill them both."

"No! You will not kill my son!" Black Manta steps forward.

"He's right." Deathstroke says pulling out his gun shooting them both. "The Light takes care of its own."

"Kaldur."

"It's too late, father. I have already won." With his dying breath, Kaldur releases a dead-man switch he's been holding in his hand.

"If you are watching this, then your summit is truly over. The Light and the Reach deserve each other. Both sides play at being partners but the Reach believes the Light to be their naive tools of conquest, when in fact the Light has manipulated the Reach from day one."

"Shut this off." Vandal instructs Deathstroke.

"How?" he asks.

"It was the Light that brought Earth to the Reach's attention by sending the Justice League to Rimbor. The Light set their trap, and the Reach snapped at the bait, fulfilling the Light's desire to thrust our world into the galactic spotlight. Part of their perverse survival of the fittest scheme for the planet, which they believe will transform the Earth and the Light into the eventual rulers of the Milky Way. Though the Light made a deal to help the Reach take Earth, they have also sabotaged the Reach's efforts. They kept the advanced meta-genes out of the Reach's hands. They added a neutralizing agent to the Reach's drink so Earth's population would not become servile. They turned public opinion against the Reach, and they intentionally allowed the Team access to the scarab temple to cleanse Blue and Green Beetle. So, you see, any agenda either side imagined they shared was nothing but a carefully crafted illusion. I trust I have shattered that illusion, as well as whatever remains of this sorry alliance. Good night."

"Kaldur. Kaldur, what have you done?" Black Manta asks his son in his arms.

"He has in death done more to damage my plans than any living creature has wrought in 50,000 years. I'd be impressed if I wasn't so-" Vandal says as he is interrupted.

"Aah! You Earthlings are a pestilence and a plague! You dare sabotage us?! Dare betray us?! Have you forgotten who controls the Warworld? The Light is fortunate we do not carve up your planet as we speak!"

"That would indeed impress, as I have the Warworld's Crystal Key." Vandal walks forward.

"That is all I needed to know." Kaldur says standing up.

"Kaldur, you're-" Black Manta says shocked.

"Alive. Yes."

"If you would?" Artemis says pulling up her hand out and sighs. "And I always heard 'The Great One' was such a gentleman." She says standing up.

"Impossible! Deathstroke killed you both."

"Just for a little while. After all, I wouldn't want to do any permanent damage." Deathstroke says as he morphs into Miss Martian breaking her cover and telekinetically floats a sword at Savage's neck. "To my best friends, not when a little misdirection and Hollywood special effects will do instead."

"For we value our true friends, and unlike you, we are not short on them." Kaldur says standing next to the girls.

The trap is sprung: Superboy, Guardian and Bumblebee emerge from the Reach entrance, while Nightwing, Batgirl, and Kid Flash enter from the Light side of the cavern.

"Hey there, Vandy. You miss me?" Kid Flash mocks.

"Well played. Well planned. But the Light always has contingencies." Vandal unconcerned to them as The Brain seals off the cave exits, and opens the ceiling and dozens of League of Shadows agents drop into the room, surrounding the young heroes. "I've had my fill of your interference. Do not expect to survive." He glares at them as they look around. "Kill them all. Superboy may present a problem, but we'll deal with him when the other children lie bleeding on the ground."

"Still you refer to us as children. No wonder our successes mount. You consistently underestimate us." Kaldur says standing by his friends.

On cue, one of the Shadows flies up, reveals himself to be Blue Beetle, and blasts the Reach soldiers with a sonic beam. The battle is joined on all sides: as the Shadows rush to attack, they are ambushed by two of their own Lagoon Boy and Red Arrow, clad in Shadow gear. Lagoon Boy puffs up and charges Ubu, while Red Arrow engages Monsieur Mallah shooting arrows at the giant gorilla. Kid Flash removes the pin from a group of Shadows' smoke grenades, allowing Batgirl enough cover to take them down.

Nightwing outfights a couple of Shadows with his eskrima sticks and martial arts, and the Guardian blocks a Shadow's swords with his shield. Seizing an opening, he casually backhands a Reach soldier, and defeats his attacker with boxing skills. Bumblebee carries her own, using her own stingers to blast at the eyes and neck of hapless Reach soldiers.

Superboy uses brute strength to pound away Reach guards. As a squad of Shadows run towards him, they are taken out by three of their own a Shadow with a golden lasso, one with a bo staff, and a speedster. They remove their masks to show Wonder Girl, Impulse, and Robin, and join the mêlée with smiles.

"It is true. The Light has always underestimated these young heroes but no more. It is time." Vandal savage says as his ring is activated and Klarion emerges from it. The Lord of Chaos fully materializes, and transmutes Deathstroke's sword into a fire serpent. Without a word, Klarion snaps his fingers, and a portal whisks him, Teekl, and Vandal Savage away from Santa Prisca.

"Cowardly meat!" Black Beetle yells out.

"No! Vandal has the right idea. This battle is pointless. Do not resist. The heroes have no jurisdiction here." Ra's al Gual says trying to calm everyone down.

"Meaning every piece of meat on the Light is a coward." Black Beetle says as he swats aside Superboy, he stabs Ra's al Ghul at the back, penetrating his chest. "Such is the fate of all meat." he muses, after withdrawing his armblade.

Ubu sees Ra's al Ghul being stabbed, and quickly breaks off his battle against Lagoon Boy. Ra's drops the Glamour Charm he was still holding, and slumps into the arms of Ubu. Ubu props his master on his shoulder, and fires a grappling hook into the cave roof opening. Artemis tries to stop him, but he successfully escapes, claiming that the master will be resurrected. Kid Flash catches Artemis, who was on the receiving end of an Ubu kick.

Ubu's last words. "The Master will be resurrected."

"I sooo want to kiss you now. Or maybe kill you for putting us through all this." Kid Flash says to his girlfriend.

"Hold that thought You can decide later, when we're alone." She grins.

The pair separate to fight off the Shadows that surround them.

In a section of the cave with a pond, Black manta looks over at Aqualad. "I cannot comprehend this betrayal, Kaldur. How could you?"

"I admit to being conflicted, father. I have seen your noble side. But you left me no choice. As long as you waste your gifts on villainy, I will stand against you." Aqualad says as he takes out his Water-Bearers.

"It seems I have been too permissive. Clearly, boy, you require Discipline." Black Manta says in a menace voice as he puts on his helmet, and shoots Aqualad with an optic blast; the blast is absorbed by a wall of water Aqualad conjures.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian is faring poorly against Klarion's fire serpent. The snake catches her in its coils, and prepares to bite into her. In the nick of time, Lagoon Boy jumps into the snake's mouth. He transforms into his pufferfish form while inside, ripping the snake apart and breaking Klarion's spell. He catches Miss Martian, and shields her with his body as they drop on the ground.

'Thank you, La'gaan.' Miss Martian says to telepathically their gazes linger at each other's faces, before breaking off to engage more enemies.

The Brain blasts away at Kid Flash, but is unable to hit the speedster.

"Hey there, K. F. "Whatcha doing?" Impulse joins him

"Same old, same old Driving the bad guys nuts. Nice look, by the way."

"Ha! You think?"

"Yeah. Though, honestly, I always figured you'd wind up in something with a little more yellow and red.

"Heh, seriously?"

"Hey, once this whole invasion thing's over, Artemis and I are going back into retirement. Someone needs to carry on the family tradition."

"Dude, that is so crash! You watch. I'll make you proud. I'll-"

"Start with the brain."

"What? Oh, right!" Impulse sweeps around the hapless brain and steals away all his weapons. "Ta-da!" he cheers but is suddenly attacked by flying Red Arrow.

Monsieur Mallah towers menacingly over Impulse, and brings his arms to pound him, but Superboy and charges the gorilla trough pillars of rocks and into the wall of the cave, Mallah is knocked unconscious. Ravager swings her swords around Superboy, he pulls back.

"Rose-"

"Where is my father!?"

"Stop it Rose!"

"No!" she yells out, and throws a punch.

Superboy blocks. "Your father will be fine, it's you I'm worried about."

"What? Are you going to throw me in jail like the rest of degenerates."

"You have a choice to make. To fight us or to fight on the same side."

"Choice? What choice? Ever since I could walk, my father gave me a sword and was taught to kill."

"You don't have to do that, don't you think Luthor had plans for me? I choice to be on this Team, I choose to make a family with this Team."

"I've never had a family before."

"Well now you can."

She shakes her head. "It's too late, they'll never forgive me."

"Leave that to me."

Rose smiles, Superboy gets punched in the jaw by Black Beetle.

"Kon!"

"Ignorant boy!" Black manta yells out to his son. "This is not a world, a universe, in which a free man can afford to be soft. I will teach you to be ruthless, Kaldur'ahm. Even if I must beat that lesson into your skull!"

Aqualad brings him down with a two-hit combo with a water mace. "I believe that was fairly ruthless, father. I hope it made you proud." He tells his unconscious father.

Meanwhile, the ambassador and scientist attempt to beat a hasty retreat, but are intercepted by Blue Beetle, who staples them both to the wall. The Ambassador calls out to Black Beetle for help. After dealing with Wonder Girl and Superboy, the Reach warrior flies towards the Reach leaders, and informs the ambassador that his orders are moot. Because of his continuous failure, Black Beetle invokes Article 16 of the Reach Planetary Acquisition Code, and declares the ambassador unfit to lead their delegation. He frees the scientist, stating that she may still be of some use. She thanks him, and he spirits her off towards the opened ceiling. Blue Beetle and Miss Martian attempt to intercept them, but he makes his escape after shooting at them.

The battle ends, and the Team is victorious.

Superboy holds his jaw in pain, Ravager offers up her hand, he takes it and stands up, he turns to see Red Arrow picking up his bow and smiles at him.

"Artemis!"

"Kon!"

They hug tightly.

"I missed you so much!" Kon says hugging her.

"I'm so happy you're alive!" she says seeing him for the first time.

"Me too!" he says back to her.

"And I'm so happy you're not mad at me."

"For what?"

Artemis giggles and gives him a kiss on his check. Wally clears his throat. "Wally!" she says letting Kon go.

"Aw you remember how sweet."

She laughs and hugs Wally giving him a kiss, he smiles and gives her a proper kiss on the lips.

"I had hoped to end this tonight, but Savage escaped, with Klarion, as did Black Beetle and the Reach's head scientist. Luther and Queen Bee never showed, and even Ra's al Ghul will no doubt-"

"Are you kidding me? Kaldur, you won!" Nightwing yells out.

"Won? Dude, you triumphed!" Kid Flash adds on.

"You've crippled the Reach and literally broken the Light in half. Even took down Deathstroke before the summit. And since we holographically recorded the entire deal, we'll be able to use the bad guys' own words against them to clear the Justice League." She says happy picking up her charm neckless, Kon hugs her and Kaldur. "Need another hug?"

"Are you kidding? I'm just so glad you guys aren't evil."

"Were you mad at us?" Kaldur asks him.

"Yeah but I can't remember why." Kon says hugging them tightly then abruptly let's them go. "HEY! We got the band back together! BOOM!"

"Kaldur, this has been a good night. Maybe the best we've had since the 3 of us first took off for Cadmus 5-plus years ago."

"Come on. Enjoy the moment, my friend. You've earned it."

…THE WARWORLD

A boom tube opens under the patrolling Reach soldiers, and they are teleported away.

"Was that a boom tube?" Black Canary hears the distinctive noise. Black Lightning and Captain Marvel go on alert. Klarion's portal opens behind them, and Vandal Savage emerges from it. "Savage!" she sonic screams out and the three leaguers attack him.

…Watchtower

"I am now officially returning command of the Team back to you." Nightwing says to his friend.

"Congratulations, Kaldur'ahm." Aquaman smiles.

"This is unnecessary. You have done brilliant work leading the Team under the most trying of circumstances." Aqualad says back in his superhero outfit.

"Which is exactly why I'm thrilled to have this particular monkey off my back. Job's all yours, pal." A boom tube suddenly appears, expelling unconscious bodies of Captain Marvel, Black Canary, and Black Lightning. "The Warworld's been activated. It's leaving Earth's orbit, heading out into space!" Nightwing points out. "Uh, is that good news or bad?" he asks.

… NEW YORK CITY

"Secretary General Lex Luthor has just completed an emergency session of the United Nations. Captain Atom presented new evidence that proves the Reach is not the benevolent friend of Earth the aliens have portrayed themselves to be. In fact, their goal seems to have been conquest all along. After a unanimous vote, Secretary Luthor officially rescinded the Reach's invitation to stay on our world and demanded they leave immediately."

…Reach ship

Black Beetle and the Scientist watch the press conference from their ship hovering atop the United Nations. The Warworld is gone, presumably under Vandal Savage's control, and the Green Lantern Corps would soon reach Earth. They will leave the planet, but in order to hide evidence of their tampering on Earth, which violates their treaty with the Guardians of the Universe, Black Beetle will destroy it first.

…RIMBOR

In a courtroom, the accused Leaguers are asked by a tribune if they have anything more to "offer" before a verdict is reached. Icon rejects the opportunity, claiming that they have already presented enough evidence to prove his clients' innocence. Despite his confidence, the Leaguers are found guilty on all counts, and are taken away. Miss Martian, Superboy and Adam Strange arrive at the court just as the audience members leave. They have evidence that would clear the League—a holographic recording of the Light and the Reach admitting that they framed the League. Unfortunately, they are too late.

… NEW YORK CITY

On the Reach flagship, Black Beetle expresses his desire to leave the meat-infested planet, but the Scientist points out that the infestation is already aboard their ship. Black Beetle claims that since the ambassador is gone, he will no longer restrain himself, and will now kill all the heroes.

Aqualad, Blue Beetle and Green Beetle arrive at the bridge. Green and Blue Beetles subdue every Reach agent, including the scientist, with their staple guns, while Aqualad takes on Black Beetle. They exchange blows, but Black Beetle overpowered Aqualad. He turns his attention to Blue and Green Beetles, but Green Beetle attack first.

Using his telekinetic powers, Green Beetle slams Black Beetle to the ground, and connects his tendrils to reset Black's scarab and set him free. Black Beetle claims freedom is overrated, and responds with an attack of his own. Using the link forged by Green Beetle, he sends a surge of energy through the link, and destroys Green Beetle's scarab. B'aarz O'oomm's armor crumbles, and he collapses to the floor, unconscious. Black Beetle muses that he would have died if he wasn't a Martian, but his survival would easily be remedied.

…Rimbor

Back in Rimbor's courtroom, the Tribunal admits that the evidence presented by the Earthlings is compelling, but the High Court has already ruled. Icon argues that they have to overrule, since there is a recorded confession that solidly places blame of the attack on Rimbor on the real criminals: the Light. Furthermore, the recording explained the motive bringing the Earth to the Reach's attention.

"Yes, yes, but have you nothing more to offer?"

"We do have more to offer!" Superboy yells out.

"Lovely."

'What are you doing?' Miss Martian asks him quickly.

'I don't know.' Superboy says honestly. "Well, uh - uh, this is a Court of Justice." He says out loud, not sure where he was going with it.

"The decisions of the tribunal have repercussions throughout the galaxy." Miss Martian she improvises.

"Right!" Superboy nods. "And what we have to offer is…Opportunity. The opportunity to demonstrate that Truth and Justice prevail here."

The Tribune interjects. "That is not the more we are accustomed to receiving."

"Perhaps not, but if the Tribunal demonstrates its fundamental fairness here and now-" Miss Martian responds to them.

"Then how many other disputes would be brought to the High Court from across the known world?" Superboy finishing her sentence.

"And the more disputes brought-" she says with a smile.

"The more mores the Tribunal will receive." He smiles.

…Reach ship

Blue Beetle blocks a killing shot Black Beetle took at B'aarzz O'oomm. Black Beetle focuses his attention on him, blaming him for the Reach's debacle. He sticks his tendrils into Blue Beetle's back, and tries to destroy the blue scarab the same way he destroyed the green scarab. Jaime Reyes and his scarab declare that they now share control, and are now comrades. Blue Beetle clamps down a tendril on Black Beetle's armor, and kills his scarab with the resulting pulse. Black Beetle's host collapses, and Aqualad congratulates Jaime on the victory. But what he learned while he was connected to Black Beetle unnerved him. The Reach had already implemented their plan to destroy the Earth in order to erase all evidence of Reach tampering there.

…GOTHAM CITY

In a park, two beetle-like Reach drones emerge from a lake, followed by a red device which activates an energy sphere above it. Almost immediately, black thunderclouds form and spread over the city, raining lightning to the ground.

…PARIS

A supercell shrouds the city in darkness, and six stationery tornados appear around the Eiffel tower.

…TAIPEI

Much like Gotham City, lightning strikes hit the city, emanating from a black thundercloud. The red Reach device causing the instability is in the courtyard of a League of Shadows monastery, guarded by a drone.

…WATCHTOWER

Captain Atom, Blue Beetle, Nightwing, the Atom and Aqualad discuss the ongoing chain of natural disasters, while the League is spread thin saving lives across the globe. Blue Beetle claims that this is all due to Black Beetle's Magnetic Field Disruptors scattered around the world. The disruptors are causing a deterioration of the Earth's magnetic field, which in turn is causing all the not-so-natural disasters. Blue Beetle locates twenty disruptors, each protected by Reach drones. Upon reaching critical mass, they turn into their "chrysalis" mode which will completely destroy the world.

The discussion is interrupted by an incoming transmission from United Nations Secretary General Lex Luthor. Luthor offers the League a possible solution for their problem. Although skeptical, the League hears him out. As the Light has always planned to betray the Reach, LexCorp has developed an anti-Reach software, a virus that can disable the Magnetic Field Disruptors.

…Rimbor

"You think it worked?"

"I don't know, they're sure are taking their sweet time."

"I want you to know that La'gaan and I broke up."

"I'm sorry to hear that." Kon says turning to look at her. "Are you ok?"

"It was time. I was being unfair to him."

"How's that?"

"I'm in love with another person."

"Anyone I know?"

"You."

"What?"

"It's my fault. I should have told you a long time ago and I have now."

"M'gann."

"Will you like to have dinner some time?"

The Tribunal exit from their chambers. "We have heard your unorthodox appeal and reached a verdict." They all turn to listen to them. "All charges are dropped, effective immediately." They all smile. "The former prisoners will be processed and released to your custody forthwith."

Kon and Megan laugh and hug each other.

"We did it!" they yell out.

"You did it." Icon says to them. "The Justice League owes its freedom and reputation to you and the Team."

"Thanks, but we should really zeta back to Earth. Can you handle things here?" Superboy says to him.

"Yes, go."

Entrusting the welfare of the leaguers to Icon and Hawkman, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Adam Strange take their leave and teleport back to Earth.

…METROPOLIS

"Every single Magnetic Field Disrupter must be disabled before they chrysalis to guarantee Earth's safety. Each MFD is protected by multiple beetle tech drones, and each drone is the equivalent of a beetle warrior. Blue Beetle has located 20 MFD's around the world. There's 40 of us assembled here, so you'll be in squads of two." Lex Luthor gives out orders to the heroes.

"Just a few more should do it." Blue Beetle says to him.

"You will all be issued multiple Reach tech eggs containing my anti-Reach virus software. While one hero runs interference with the drones, the other only has to physically touch his or her egg against an MFD to disable it."

"You really think we can trust Luthor?" Wonder girl whispers to Robin.

"It's his world, too. Pretty sure he doesn't want it reduced to space dust. Besides, we don't have much choice." Robin whispers back to her.

"All right, I have your assignments. We'll distribute these eggs and go. Ladies and gentlemen, the fate of the world is in your hands."

…Rimbor

The freed Leaguers walk down a street, happy to be heading home.

"How does it feel?" Icon asks them.

"Good, to be free and cleared." Batman answers for all of them.

"And even better to be heading home." Superman adds.

Suddenly, Vandal Savage broadcasts a message through three holographic monitors to the citizens of Rimbor and the whole galaxy.

"Attention, citizens of Rimbor. I bear message to the galaxy. I am Vandal Savage of Earth, and I hereby declare my home world off limits to all incursion or invasion. Any breach of our planet security will result in severe discipline.

"What makes Savage think these aliens will take his threat seriously?" superman asks knowing that Savage could never back up his threat.

"There's your answer." Batman says as he points to the Warworld currently passing through Rimbor.

...Earth

Meanwhile, Snapper Carr coordinates all twenty squads from the Watchtower.

… ATLANTIC OCEAN

Aqualad and Lagoon Boy engage a couple of Reach drones protecting a disruptor. Aqualad orders Lagoon Boy to plant the egg while he provides cover. Still stung at Aqualad not informing him about his deep-cover mission, Lagoon Boy sarcastically expresses surprise at being trusted now. Aqualad disagrees—after all, he trusted Lagoon Boy enough to let him take his place on the Team. Lagoon Boy accepts the explanation, and the Atlanteans begin their attack. Using his hydrokinetic powers, Aqualad creates a sea monster-like creature and smashes two drones. Lagoon Boy uses his Atlantean sorcery to inflate himself and smash another. Aqualad cuts the remaining drones with two water swords while Lagoon Boy deactivates the disruptor.

…PARIS

Kid Flash is running around evading the Reach drone's attacks. Artemis tries to shoot one down but misses. The drone shoots a nearby school bus, blowing it up. Artemis is sent flying, but is caught by Kid Flash. He tells her that they'll go back to Paris someday, when they don't have a world to save. Artemis replies that they will always have a world to save, then shoots an arrow at the drones. It appears to miss, but disperses powerful magnetic pellets that attach to the drones and draw them towards each them until they short-circuit. Kid Flash deactivates the disruptor, and runs up to Artemis. Before she finishes her report, they kiss passionately, over the confused inquiries of Lucas Carr.

…DAKOTA CITY

In the sewers beneath the city, Static and Black Lightning battle two Reach drones. While Black Lightning takes care of the drones, Static deactivates the disruptor. After they finish, Black Lightning offers to be Static's mentor.

…Watchtower

Black Canary reports to the Watchtower that she and Asami have disabled their disruptor. All twenty squads have deactivated all twenty disruptors, Snapper Carr notes jubilantly. However, the Atom points out that the Earth's magnetic field is still being disrupted. Blue Beetle contacts the Watchtower to tell them he has found a twenty-first Magnetic Field Disruptor.

…TAOS

Blue Beetle informs the heroes that the twenty-first disruptor is in the North Magnetic Pole, and was previously hidden from his previous scans by Earth's magnetic field. Since there are no Zeta Tubes in the Arctic, the Flash offers to take care of the situation.

… NORTH MAGNETIC POLE

The Flash races to the final Magnetic Field Disruptor, with Impulse providing him with backup. They find it inside an ice cave, but it was too late—the device has reached its chrysalis stage. The Earth's magnetic field begins to destabilize. Flash and Impulse escape the collapsing cave, and a vortex forms around the crysalis. They are unsure of what to do, but Luthor instructs them to run. Not run away, as Flash initially assumes, but run in the direction opposite to the vortex's energy flow. It might be possible to siphon off the energy through the speedsters' speed trails, but a massive amount of kinetic energy is required. Artemis questions Wally whether it is sufficient, but he has already left in the zeta tube.

As the pair of speedsters begin their run, the Atom tells them not to slow down until the chrysalis is completely neutralized. The pair begin to run in the opposite direction of the tornado. They successfully create a counter-cyclical vortex that is beginning to siphon off the chrysalis' energy. Impulse notes the plan is working, but Flash tells him that their efforts have only weakened, not stopped the chrysalis. Even at their top speed, they still can't generate enough kinetic energy.

Fortunately, Kid Flash shows up to contribute his kinetic energy, and the three speedsters begin to add more of an impact. The Batplane descends on the location, disgorging Nightwing, Superboy, Blue Beetle, Miss Martian, Aqualad, and Artemis.

The heroes are starting to stabilize the Earth's magnetic field, but the scarab informs Jaime about a problem. Kid Flash's slower speed has turned him into an exit valve for the chrysalis' energy - having absorbed it, he will "cease" in 16 seconds. Flash notices the problem and tells Impulse that they have to slow down and siphon off the energy attacking Wally. Wally realizes that it is too late for him, but he is more worried about reactions of Artemis and his parents. He asks his uncle to tell them something, but fades away before completing his sentence. Shortly after, the chrysalis is neutralized, and Flash and Impulse finally stop running, completely exhausted. Everyone is happy, until Artemis notices Wally's absence. Her tears start welling when Flash tells her Kid Flash wanted him to tell her he loved her, and she breaks down and cries. She is comforted by Miss Martian.

…Mount Justice

The Leaguers that were on Rimbor and all three Green Lanterns return to Earth.

"Are we…too late?" superman wonders as they look at the wreckage.

Batman pats his shoulder looking up at the sky as they are greeted by the Team.

"Aqualad, what happened here?"

"Fear not, the crisis has passed." Aqualad answers. "Though at a terrible cost."

…NEW YORK

"This is Cat Grant, reporting live from the U.N., where the entire planet Earth is celebrating a special Independence Day, free of Reach invaders, thanks to the brave heroes of the Justice League."

…WATCHTOWER

"And why would we ever re-elect you for this position again, Mr. Luthor." Gordon Godfrey asks Lex Luthor as they sit on some couches.

"I know I made a mistake but I also help repair that mistake, I believe that we should clean up after ourselves. Don't you Mr. Godfrey?"

"Absolutely! Which is why I G. Gordon Godfrey supports you!" they shake hands. "Let's hear it for another four years ladies and gentlemen!"

"You have got to be kidding me." Both Superman and Superboy say at the same time as Superman angry waves his hand turning it off, Superboy walks off.

"And on that note." Captain Atom says turning to Black Canary. "I officially turn over my chairmanship of the league to you."

"Wow…thanks so much."

"This is no time for you to resign." Aqualad tells Nightwing as they walk beside each other.

"I'm not resigning, I'm just taking a leave of absents."

"With paid vacation I hope."

"If you need help Barbara is more than ready to step up." Nightwing says ignoring Kon's comment.

"Agreed but Dick-"

"I need a break Kaldur, you, me, Wally we founded this Team without him…"

Kaldur sighs. "I understand."

"I don't."

"Knocking it off, Kon." Roy tells him overhearing their conversation. "Dick needs a break, I need to take care of my daughter but we'll see each other."

"Yeah? That's what Wally used to say." Kon says to him and walks off.

Roy start to go after him, Dick stops him putting his hand on his shoulder. "He'll be fine."

Kon leans on a tree Wolf sits down, he smiles and ruffs up his hair.

"Hi."

"Hi."

"I wanted to say thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Batman put me under house arrest." She says playing with her new gray bracelet. "Can't use a computer, and it tracks my every movement. He said something about being able to tell if I was at the center of the Earth's core."

"Maybe I should get one, just in case."

"Just wish it came in another color."

"Red." Kon and Rose both say at the same time, they chuckle.

"Did you see them?" M'gann asks walking up to them.

"Cassie and Tim? Yeah, when did that happen?"

"Since Wally…you know. It was kinda a life is short thing." M'gann says to mostly Kon while Rose stood beside her. "It gave Cassie the courage to kiss him."

"Well that kind of courage-"

"Can be hard to come by."

Kon looks at both M'gann and Rose who were starting at him with smiles.

"Team report to the mission room." Kaldur says in the intercom.

"Thank god." Kon whispers and walks off.

M'gann turns to Rose and smiles with a little chuckle, Rose smiles back and follow Kon with Wolf walking beside him.

"Having stopped the Reach invasion and broken the Light in half, the Team will now operate out of the watchtower side by side with the League. Not because Mount Justice was destroyed but because you earned it."

"And so, we leave you to it."

"This team has had successes but much remains to be done." Aqualad turns to his team. "Superboy, Miss. Martian, Ravager your alpha. B'arzz O'oomm has called from Mars he needs help. Tigress, Kid Flash, Bumblebee, Guardian you're Beta LexCorp is bring out the Reach soft drink under a new name we need proof."

"Business as usual." Nightwing says leaning on the wall and walks off.

"The rest of you Gamma and we'll investigate Batgirl's lead on Vandal Savage's next move." Aqualad finishes giving out their assignments.

…APOKOLIPS

Vandal Savage reaches Apokolips aboard the Warworld. Savage exits through a Boom tube to a hallway, walks past Desaad and G. Gordon Godfrey, and reaches the end to meet with Darkseid. They shake hands.

"Business as usual." Savage remarks with a wicked smile.
