Season 5 ep.12

Alec POV

Getting into the apartment several minutes later I spotted Max playing with the girls. They were starting to become more like carbon copied photos of us and meshed them together every day. It was something that would take a while to get past.

However I was thinking on our last bout together at the general's house. Maybe a little brother for the girls was in the near future or another beautiful young girl to call my own too. I knew I couldn't see anything visible now but I couldn't help but recalling her pregnant with the girls and wondering if she were pregnant once again.

A feral growl of over protectiveness was swallowed before it could reach my actual vocal cords even from Max's sensitive hearing. We didn't know anything and so far she hadn't even brought it up so I wondered. There was a 10% chance it'd be a 'no' but what are the odds of that happening during heat?

"Hey how are my bundles of joy?" I greeted them.

Nyx reached for me and for a small second was able to stand up and walk three feet before falling into my grasp. I blurred to avoid letting her hit the ground. "You know she's gonna have to fall sometimes." Max giggled.

"Not as long as daddy's here." I reply back.

I brought Nyx up in my arms holding her to me tightly as she happily bounced around. I looked down to Max as she played with Nikita, "Have you checked yet?" I asked as if it were the most obvious thing out there. She arched a brow, "What?" she asked. I shifted my gaze down at her stomach then back up to her again. Still didn't get it, "Alec, charades are not gonna work here, what is it?" she said exasperated.

"Have you checked to see if you're pregnant yet?" I asked her, a smile on my lips.

Then it clicked, "No, I haven't. Been a bit busy." she then proceeded to stand up and 'coo' at Nikita. "Here you hold her I'll go use that last test. I hope it's still good." she says. "I'm sure it is." I reply.

It was then that I noticed the cords Nikita had fumbling in her hands, "Max we need new head phones!...Again!" I sighed, this was the second pair Nikita got a hold of. I knew Max wasn't giving them head phones but we were both curious regarding how our little troublemakers kept getting a hold of the devices.

"Nope." she came out three minutes later with the stick in her hands. A negative sign even I could see, "Next time." I tell her. She smiles, "It gives us more time to get used to them." I agreed...even if part of me was hoping. Perhaps in the end she was right. Especially when dealing with transgenic spawns of us.

It was the text I received two hours later as Max and I were holding the girls during a crappy kid's movie that I knew I needed to bolt.

"Gotta go." I kissed her sweetly, and gave both precious girls a tender kiss on the head before jetting out of there. I hardly heard the "Alec!" being yelled from our apartment as I blurred too fast for her eyes to see once the door closed. Yeah I would get the couch for this but you know what...if it ended a war prematurely then it was worth it.

I nearly slid up to Deck's apartment door two minutes later, having blurred there. Frankly it felt good to run that fast for a few minutes. I hadn't been able to do the extensive run for quite a while. Seeing Krit come in a few moments later I can only gathered the same text got sent to him as well. Going in we saw Daniel in there, "So you plan to kidnap and torture General Ross?" he questioned, vial in hand.

He tossed it to me. It was only my quick reflexes that enabled me to catch the UN timed move. "I am so NOT a part of this. You may not mind spending time on that couch, though why I don't know...but I don't." Daniel left before I could retort to his remark.

"Ignore him we have bigger fish to deal with than your 'not even there upset gir - sorry mates'." Deck grunted as I seemed more inclined to snap back at Daniel than to staying and helping, "I know that, but what if he blabs?"

I glanced over to Krit, "If Syl and Max were to find out that we went behind their backs and did something that could make or break us..." I left the rest unsaid. "Then we'll make it make us." Krit followed. "That's my boy." Krit snapped his eyes to the colonel, "Make no mistake I'm not your son in ANYWAY." I smirked before Deck rolled his eyes, "It's just an expression."

"Whatever let's get this bitch over with." Deck came up to me, "Alec which Krit will have a difficult job yours will be a bit more convoluted than his. I need you to make sure I don't kill General Ross while getting to Intel we need." I nodded knowing if it were me and someone had killed Max and now I was to be in the same room as him, I'd need to have someone there to make sure I DIDN'T kill him.

"I can snatch an old monitor and put it in the cell Logan used to be in. There's no in there now, nor is there any use for there to be guards down there anymore. They've been reassigned." quite happily to, they weren't happy about being babysitter to Logan, nor were they crazy to have his trannie blood soaked ass spiraling out of control.

"Good. Krit first it's your turn. Here's two vials." as Krit took it Deck said, "It'll only take a few seconds for it to kick in, but those few seconds for an X5 could be all the time it takes. The other one here…that's for Avram. Its potency is only effective to knock out a human so DON'T mixed them up." Krit nodded in understanding.

The X5, his twin might try to get the jump on him, "Are you sure you don't want Brin to go back?" Deck asked, knowing she knew how everyone acted, and more than likely how to get the General alone.

"No, Mia wants to observe her for a day just to be sure. Plus her mind just totally got turned around and merged with her inner Brin. 734 and Brin are now one in the same but her heads been on a total headache for a full day now. She's been trying to sleep it off with some Advil all day now." I felt sorry for the girl but that was only because I had my own stint in Psy Ops with Mia before. She was good at her job, but once she was done and your head was back, you felt like shit for days straight.

"I taught you kids - " I cut him off, "When you've had Mia poking in your head for a while and come out peach on the other side, then talk, till then, don't." I snapped at the end, making it known that it wasn't easy coming out of her mental mind fucks without a serious headache that latest for a good two days without any meds. At least Brin had Advil.

He left it alone, "Anyways we need to secure the space to haul him into. Now in an area full of transgenics that will tell Max just about anything, how do you suppose we get him in?" Deck asked us both.

As bad as it was to say, while Max did and had been working her ass off throughout the years here to earn the respect she deserves I knew for a factor that my history with half the people here gave me the necessary loyalty needed to keep things quite for a good 5-10 hours. After that, they would tell Max.

"I can get through, and stall for a couple of hours but nothing longer than 10. Can you crack him in that time?" please be yes! "I'm positive." Deck iterated.

"Good, cause I don't want people to wonder why their keeping a secret for me from Max. It won't look good." nor would it be good...

"Alec when were done, General Ross would be a problem of the past." I hoped so. "So where is he?" I asked. Man could be at home or surrounded by his body guards, "From my Intel, he's making a trip to his house today." he looked to Krit, "With his guards. Which reminds me, I was able to pay off a little birdie on the inside to give your twin a good reason to bail out from his duties for even a few minutes." We both arched a brow at him.

"Tried and true 'Dulcolax'." I grimaced at the childish old school approach, "Really? That's gross! Effective but gross." if it hit at the right timing then the X5 would have no choice but to leave out or risk making a mess of his pants. "Clever...it's not something I'd see you doing though." I told him. Deck grimaced, "Times are tough, sometimes the dirty tricks are the ones that save the day." Deck said.

"Yeah...I guess." I remark.

"Let's go. We're burning daylight." I rolled my eyes at the expression before leading the way out. Nothing suspicious at all about Krit, Deck and myself leaving at the same time. I shook my head as I got a text from Max, right after a missed call. I grimaced, knowing some areas of TC were to full of lead for a proper signal to get through.

Flipping my phone open I hit 'dial voicemail'. Listening to the options I hit one for listen, "Alec what the hell is up? You ran outta here like someone shoved a lightning bolt up your ass. What's wrong?" I deleted the message then read the text.

'Answer your flippin' phone! What going on? You don't bolt like that for no reason! & no fair that you ditched out at a time when you knew I'd be busy w/the girls to go running after u!' yeah she was pissed, I texted back, 'Needed to go run an'..." I look up briefly before thinking, 'errand. Will be back in a few hrs. Love u.' I hoped it would be enough...for now.

"Max textin' you?" Krit replied, "Yup...Syl you?" I asked, "Yup." great, hot water... "Perfect." I mutter in annoyance.

Neither of us wanted to deal with the wrath of our mates, or in his case, soon to be mate. The noises lately had been proof of their new relations but there was no sign of a mark on either yet so both were working on it. Still didn't mean both women wouldn't want a piece of our asses to chew out if they found out we were pulling a Hail Mary move when it came to the potential future of General Ross and us.

"Why don't we just tell them?" Krit muttered, truly fearing not being on Syl's good graces for any extended amount of time.

"Because they would tell us it's a bad idea, that the way to go isn't by torturing the one man that could potentially dispose of us. Plus if it was originally known to be Deck's idea, it'll raise even further issues. No when we get what we need and the General backs off and is discredited THEN we tell them." I glanced over at Krit.

"Do you want to tell Syl that you're posing as your twin to gain access to the general that would sooner kill you than use you himself?" Krit pursed his lips a bit, "Just keep moving."

That's what I though... "Will you two grow up and just be grateful that you have a loving women who worry over you." Deck barked.

We both stopped at his remark, "Max and Syl love you both, and they just want what's best. Yes I get that this idea to them would be considered more personal for me than anything but it is for the betterment of Terminal City. When they know this...after the fact then deal with it. But bitching about their reactions now will NOT help anything." we both frowned at him.

We knew the truth of his words, "Listen, I know you see me as a still half way enemy, but reality here, you've got families to lose as much as you have to gain. You know what will happen if General Ross has a hair breath chance of gaining the upper hand. You'll lose it all. Alec..." I grit my teeth unwilling to even THINK about a possible future without Max...without our daughters in it...

"I know you love your family, and I know Krit that you love Syl even though parts of you two are still fighting it..." Krit had the grace to turn away momentarily.

"But the General will find your weakness and exploit it before destroying it. Death in the end is his mercy." I didn't want to think about this anymore, all that was going through my mind was keeping my family safe. Making sure Max could handle taking care of our girls if something were to happen to me. But I'll be damned if she or my girls die before me.

"Shut up and move." I shoved Deck forward.

It was then that we ran into Mole, "So you're finally taking him to the gallows." he grinned, knowing we weren't but loving to mess with the guy's head. Deck remained calm, "No...Not yet. Just need to run an errand." Deck said. Mole angled his gaze to myself in a look of disbelief, "He's right. We have an errand to run but we'll be back in a couple of hours." I explain. Mole grinned around the cigar stub in his mouth, "So nothin' to do with the conversation you all just had." my eyes widened.

His grin got wider, "What do you want?" I asked.

"A chance to take a swing at the guy for tryin' revoke our citizenships. I like being able to walk down the streets. Granted it's mostly at night but still...it feels good." Mole iterated. I grinned, "So Max's little speech a few years ago about 'the sun on your face or walking down the streets without being afraid' really is hitting you now huh?"

Mole growled low in his throat, "Let me take a swing or I tell Max because I know she didn't authorize this." Mole demanded, "I'll be the one swinging, Alec will be making sure I don't kill him." Deck told him.

Mole looked back to me, "So Deck is runnin' this one." he gave me an 'are you fucking kidding me? This won't end well' look. I tell him, "Deck'll hit him for you but just keep it on the DL till it blows over. All I'm askin' for is 14 hours." he quirked his brow, "Well it's gonna take us at least an hour or two to get there, considering where he is gonna be and another hour or two to get back." I explain.

Mole looked over to Deck before leaning in to whisper near my ear, "It would be a punk move to trust him. I know your X5, and an alpha X5 at that, but brother, don't pull a move that's gonna land with us losing everything that pretty mate of yours has worked her ass off to help build for us. She may be 'Queen Bitch' at times but she's our 'queen bitch' and she's given a lot to us all. I'm just saying don't trust the man as far as that human Sketchy can throw him." I nod. Mole had somehow over time become loyal to Max in a way that I didn't even know existed.

"I promise man this, will go smoothly. If it doesn't..." I looked down both hallways.

"I'll deal with her wrath and the wrath of whatever governments types come at us." I attempt to sooth. Moles grunts, "Your smooth Alec, I just hope you're 'smooth' when the tanks roll in to pull us from our settled in half way normal lives because a vendetta Deck has with the guy has also somehow convinced you of a possible way to discredit him and take his funding away." Mole left without another word and I was starting to doubt all of this.

"Come on Alec, he's just worried as Max would be is all." Krit tried.

"I know...but so am I." I gave Deck a penetrating stare, "If this back fires or blows up in our faces you'll meet your wife sooner than expected." I vented at him, "Don't be upset with me Alec, just because your feathers are rattled." Deck shot back.

I turned back to him, I knew he was right, I was venting, "Let's just get this bitch over with." I huffed in an angry annoyance.

Leaving the hallways we get to the bikes when Deck stops us, "Better to use the van for this job. Brin was a light weight for the bike, General Ross, not so much." I agreed as we all jumped in. With myself as the wheelman, and Deck giving Krit the 'mission' parameters even though Krit kept waving it off, we were outta TC limits and headed in the direction of the General's house...I sighed...again.

Arriving there, an hour later, we had the benefits and unfortunateness of the light on our side. Deck and I both stayed in the car since we both would be spotted by the General and his men in a heartbeat, Krit slipped through the back so he could make his move.

Krit POV

For the moment we got here I knew I was going to hear it from Syl on what the fuck I was thinking. I climbed up to the second's story window and watched the body guards as my double peered in my direction. I ignored the uncanniness of it thinking 'there's no way he can sense me!' following I started to notice the shifting as it became more apparent.

Finally after 10 minutes I knew the little 'birdie' of Deck's came through. The guard with my face slipped into the bathroom while the other men kept going, Ross firmly with them as even he could not protest the need to go.

After all with three other transgenic body guards, who would think one less bodyguard would make a difference?

I made myself the quietest transgenic ever as I did a sneak and creep on him. It wasn't my best of scenes, knocking out a transgenic as he used the toilet, ergo Alec's earlier thoughts of 'gross' but it worked. The injection site was right behind his ear. It would be on fire with pain, IF he were to be awake in a few hours, but since this would last longer than that, he wouldn't know where he was hit or even if he was hit.

Seeing what he was wearing compared to me, I switched the jackets, and kicked off my boots and slid his military style ones on. I looked back and forth for a second before concluding, "Keep 'em, these fit better." I smiled as I managed to score a new pair of boots out of it. Yeah they were more military style but they were a bit newer and felt a tad more comfortable than the ones that I was started to wear holes into.

I was mostly just thankful that we both were wearing some dark jeans, the under shirt was now hidden by the jacket I put on and my boots now replaced. I looked like my twin, not just in body type but in clothing now to.

Walking back out I walked the same as he had when I first began watching him and his stance, making sure I had it right and wouldn't tip anyone off. Getting back me nine two others looked to me. I gave an uncaring, "Nature called." excuse. They rolled their eyes. I waited as we went into another room, and found a couple of them to be looking about as if there might be an intruder nearby.

Somehow I needed to get him alone and gain a two minute window to get Alec and Deck over here cause transgenic or not I can't take on three body guards and four right hand men. "Sir I think we should check the perimeter, "An X5 whom had too much attitude in her voice to even be here said.

The General looked up and about. I took the opportunity, "Why don't you four take the grounds outside to do a perimeter sweep, you two can do a sweep of the house and we could keep the General safe." I indicated, pointing to everyone and where they should go and who to be partnered up with.

Without question they did as told as the girl that I partnered myself up with said, "Good thing he's in his office, less of a chance for someone to get inside and trying to harm him." I nodded in agreement. Her eyes were so emotionless, it almost made me ask her if this was worth it, but I refrained from doing so.

"I'll watch from the post outside, keep him safe inside." she ordered. I bit my cheek on the inside to prevent me from smiling at how easily this seemed to fall in place. Then I caught myself...when do things ever go completely as planned? I merely nodded, not wanting a small response to be my giveaway.

Once the door to the office was closed I slowly made my way around the room, making sure not to get to close just yet.

"I cannot believe those stupid 'cleaning people' haven't gotten here yet!" he vented. I quirked my brow and without thinking replied, "Sir?" he briefly looked to me, "From my party a while ago. Apparently some security personnel saw a couple in here having sex. Those 'cleaning people' were supposed to come in here and clean my office!" he raved.

It made me wonder if Max and Alec had done something up in here that evening at the party and if so, wow! That's highly risky! Granted even I had smelled Max's pheromone levels but I wasn't nearly even considering busting at her door. If anything I had been trying to get away from the scent.

The General was so focused on his papers I knew he'd never see it coming. Grabbing the vial I blurred at X5 speed.

Clamping a hand over his mouth, I jammed it into his neck and he went down fast. Slumping into his seat. Quickly sending a text that he was out and we were in his office ready, Alec texted back 'on our way'. Less than a minute later I saw the van rounding up the side of the house. Quickly picking up the General, I let him slid down the side of the house to avoid a large 'thump' from being heard.

Its why I only texted Alec had I called him she would have heard the conversation and had alerted the others.

Jumping out seconds later I slid into the van and we speed off. By the time the guards got to the side of the building we were on we were gone. "This better be worth it." I muttered to Alec. He nodded in agreement.

Alec POV

I hoped Deck was right about this. We speed off thought not to fast back to TC. We didn't want to alert sector cops to an unconscious General in the back of the van upon inspection. Taking back roads we made it through the tunnel instead of the regular entrance to TC. I was trying to keep this from Max. At least till it all blew over. Then I'd deal with her venting and her blow up, but if we could end things soon, I'd like to do everything possible to protect me family and the inhabitants of TC.

I knew my mind was dirty even in these situations when I got images of her blowing me off or of me sticking myself in her as she began venting. I had to shake them from my head so I could get myself back into the game.

Hauling the general out of the van, Krit and I carried him to the jail cells that we had. "Those transgenic guards are gonna be friggin' pissed that we took him." Krit muttered, having taken the general's upper body.

"As long as this plan works, it won't matter. Besides they don't have any power above the general." I tell him. Finally getting him into the cell we strap him to a chair and take anything out of reach that he could use to get himself loose. Handcuffs in place thanks to Krit, I then singled out the I.P. address so I could hack into the security feed and put it through to my office's monitor only.

"Tell Deck whenever he's ready to let me know so I can watch and 'regulate' him. Make sure he doesn't end up killing the bastard." I iterate.

Krit huffed, "I hope this general isn't as tough as he looks. Deck might have trouble with him." it was a sub sequential moaning coming from him that queued us both to vacate the area immediately. Closing the door, I signaled Deck, "He's all yours. Just wait on doing anything till I have you on the monitor in my office." I gave him an ear piece so I could hear everything.

"Understood." he agreed.

I made to leave when I stopped, "Deck whatever happened in the past is there, if you screw this up for everyone, I will personally break every bone in your body. I can do it and you know it." Deck nodded his head, a partial bit of fear from my words at knowing it was true. Hell he taught us. "I'll wait for your signal on when to begin." he remarked.

I started to leave when I signaled to Krit to come over, "Stay down here for a little while just in case the colonel gets itchy trigger fingers." he nodded both of us knowing how personal this would be and was for Deck. "You got it." he tapped me to go. I jogged upstairs headed for HQ to my office when I spotted Max. Damn it! I smiled, "Hey!"

She wasn't smiling, "So what was the emergency that was so bad that you had to bolt for?" she asked, demanded was more like it, holding both girls in her arms.

Quite frankly I loved the image she presented. All motherly, both our girls smiling at me as she held them at each hip, yet her tone gave the true indication of the damage she was capable of inflicting upon me. I couldn't help but smile at her. She just made me so happy and for a moment I forgot why I was standing there staring at her like the 'cats meow'. There was just her and our girls. Nothing else seemed to matter.

"Hello?!" she broke the spell I was under. "Sorry gotta go." I raced past her, not even bothering to explain myself as I slid into HQ with ease a minute later. I knew with the girls she wouldn't be able to keep up as fast. Not unless the devil himself was on her heels, or if she really had a reason to. Nodding to a few people I made my way up the stairs and into my office.

Shutting the door I whisked around my computers monitor and hacked into the feed from the jail cell. It came up. So far Deck was being true to his word, not within a three foot radius and the general looked stone cold frigid. He showed no emotion. Which either meant one of two things, one he really felt that way, or two, perhaps he knew that Deck knew the truth of things and finally found a way to get what he wanted.

Touching the ear piece I spoke, "You're on Deck."

He moved forward. The scene that I was getting was coming in like a movie reel. I was intrigued yet I knew I had to still speak up if I was to prevent Deck from killing this man. "Why'd you do it?" Deck asked.

The general was silent, "Tell me was killing her really worth it?" Still nothing. Deck leaned forward but made sure to keep far enough away to avoid the General trying to snag something from his person. "She was the best thing in my life and you took her from me. Is that why when I was a runner up for the 'Phoenix project' you had to create trouble?" Deck knew the answers to it all but he still needed proof.

A confession would do just nicely...along with some evidence. That's when he thought to pull it out but decided against it. When he release the general he would be waiting for him. Make sure the general knew he wasn't to be fucked with. To leave, let the transgenics go and never return or face losing everything he worked and connived his way to get.

The general looked up to him, "You are worthless as a leader. You always were Donald." the general turned his head, as if in disgrace to be in his presence. "Yet someone saw fit for me to run Manticore. Gee they must have seen something in me that you don't." I rolled my eyes at the conversation. Supporting my head in my left hand and watching the screen.

"You can't break me Deck. You used some of my tricks over the years to break your own 'kids'. You really think yours will work on me when mine were worse?" he asked him.

It was the smile I saw on Deck's face that had me shifting in my seat, "You think mine can't get you to talk? You're sadly mistaken." I watch as Deck walked forward and put a ball gag on Ross's mouth to which I was curious on where it came from before he pulled out a pair of pliers, and proceeded to pull the general's fingers from his hands.

I winced a bit, hearing the shocked in the general's voice before he put a mask over his face to cover his pain. Solider or not you will always feel the pain. Once his left hand was done Deck did his right hand. Ross shifted but otherwise bit the gag and kept his cool. I briefly looked to the door hearing someone pass by but no one knocked or came in.

"I can do this all night Avram. In fact..." he turned to face the pissed off man.

"You right here right now, gives me utmost pleasure. Cause now I can torture you for what you did to her. Her retribution will come." Avram twitch right before Deck slammed his fist into the man's face. Two more hits and the man's jaw was damn near broken, "Deck ease up on actually breaking bones yet. Let him feel it but just don't break anything. We're not there yet." I warned. Then I heard Avram say when Deck released the gag, "My body guards will find me."

I heard Deck tell him, "Your body guards will be looking for your body for days when were done...unless you tell me what I wanna know."

"Screw you." Avram said, spitting out some blood.

Before Deck could turn around Avram went on, "She screamed for you, you know." that even had me narrowing my eyes. "Crying out for your help. Her hero. But you weren't there." he was trying to get Deck to screw up but upsetting him, "Deck, he's messin' with your head, don't let his words get to you!" I demanded. "This isn't exactly what we want but we'll take the intel." I iterated through the com.

He seemed to calm himself down, but Avram went on, "No you were too busy. But I made sure she got a good lick before leaving."

I could practically see the anger levels on Deck rising, "He's trying' to get you to mess up so he can take back control!" for a second I thought he might try and take the ear piece out but he simply said, "I know. Relax, I have this." I calmed down a little bit. "So where am I?" Avram asked, "Abandon warehouse in sector nine. Were among a dozen so finding your body when were done will prove to be quite the treasure hunt." I winced at the imagery.

"Nice picture you painted." I remarked.

He ignored me, and put the gag back in place. I really would like to know where the hell that thing came from. It looked like it belonged in an S & M torture chamber.

It was the steel blade of a knife that caught my eyes as he made a small slice in the general's arm. Then slowly, meticulously slowly began to peel the skin from him. This had the general howling in utmost pain. Deck managed a small section as Avram looked at him with deadly eyes. Deck took the gag out, "I'm going to k -" Deck slammed his fist into his mouth.

Okay now his jaw was broken, "Deck, put his jaw back in place." I rolled my eyes. He did but also decided to decorate the General more. More bruises now adorned his face and different portions of his body before Deck took a step back to admire his handy work. The general looked beat down now. Blood dripping from his hands, face, neck and arm.

Deck walked around him again before peeling more skin from the general's arm. Only this time it was from his shoulder to his elbow. The howl of pain made me wonder if any nearby transgenics could hear that one. If it weren't for who this man was and what he had done as was doing, I'd feel a tinge sorry for him. If anything I was cheering for Deck!

"Admit what you did to her and this can all be over with." Deck told him calmly. The man's arm was now bleeding profusely and the left portion of his body was shaking.

Avram looked up to him. Deck removed the gag, he spat out, "I think I'll pass and take my confession to the grave. To know that her last moments were mine...you think I'll let you have that? You think I'll let you take that from me? That's mine."

That was sick... "She was never yours though. Yeah you held her last breath but I held her breath for years. She was everything to me and she loved me. And you couldn't handle that. I wasn't that heartless bastard you were and it gave me props." Deck sneered. Avram sneered back, "It made you weak." Deck ignored him and made a cut into his face. Before he began peeling he put the gag back into place.

"I'm getting a bit tired of hearing your mouth. So until I hear something that sounds like your giving up I'm just going to keep pealing." I grimaced at the thought.

"So go ahead, feel some power over me cause you have my wife's last breath, but know this, I made sure she'd live on so she would still in some form have breath." I narrowed my eyes wondering why he mentioned that.

"But in the end, I have the power over you. If you want to take that power back then I suggest you tell me what I want to know." Deck tried.

Avram motioned for the ball gag. Deck removed it, "What does it matter now? She's dead, been over 20 years now. No judge or court will aid you in persecuting me. It's been too damned long." Deck looked as if he were thinking on it, "True...but see I'm not on caring about persecuting, I'm just caring about hearing you say it. I want to hear the words come from your mouth on what you did to her." Deck growled.

Avram seemed to give, "What the hell. When my body guards come looking for me, they'll kill you in a heartbeat. I'm just talking to a dead guy standing." Deck straightened.

"Fine I killed her. I killed your wife...and I enjoyed every second of watching the life fade from her eyes." I looked away briefly before returning my gaze as I saw Deck fighting to control his temper. "I enjoyed feeling her flail beneath me, trying to fight me off, feeling her smooth skin as I touched it, marked it." he grinned from ear to ear now, "Deck he's tryin' - " Deck cut me off, "I know!"

"Most of all I enjoyed what it did to you." Deck and I both looked to him, the smile on his face was maniacal.

"Watching you crumble because she was no longer there was worth every second I was under scrutiny. It was worth killing her." okay even I wanted to murder this rat bastard now. I pursed my lips, sorely tempted now to tell him 'do it'. To end his life...but that was not our goal here and with the camera's rolling and recording we had the confession. Plus with Deck now in possession of his wife's wedding band from Avram with his prints on it, he had physical proof to.

Granted it also had Max's prints on there our transgenic forensic friend was working on removing Max's and leaving the Generals prints there. It made me smile in satisfaction. There may be hope yet after this. We might actually pull this off.

Max POV

That's it! This is the last straw! I'm going to kill him!

Max carried her two children, one in each arm, as she marched purposely through Terminal City heading to Command.

I can't believe he's leaving me AGAIN with diaper duty while he can hang out with the guys or play on his computer? No fucking way! He is going to HELP with these children tonight or so help ME I'll totally make him pay!

She marched up the circular metal steps leading to the second floor platform. Dix glanced over at her nervously, "Hi Max." he called out uncertainly as she marched past him without a word, her eyes intent on Alec's office door.

Juggling Nyx a little, she reached out and opened the door, barging in.

Third POV

There was a sudden crash as Alec jumped up and knocked over the metal serving tray that he had used for his lunch onto the concrete floor with a clatter, and nearly knocked the lamp off the desk too in his haste to hide the little black and white monitor from Max's view. Max eyed him in obvious suspicion.

Hmmm, he looks guilty. Was he watching porn? I better not find 'Busty Asian Beauties' on that computer. I am going to SO kill him!

Putting one child down on the empty visitor's chair and holding the other, she pointed an accusing finger at Alec, "What the HELL are you doing in here? And why do you keep skipping out on diaper duty?"

"Ummm…" Alec gulped, listening to Deck interrogate Ross through the earpiece in his ear and trying to use his body to keep the monitor blocked from Max's view. "Nothing… nothing at all…" Suddenly he looked down at Nikita in the chair, who was reaching toward him. He smiled and picked her up.

"Aww my little bundy of joy, you came to see Daddy?" He swished her around in the air a couple of times, making her giggle, then brought her down to blow a raspberry on her cheek, making her laugh outright. He grinned and caught Max's answering smile. Breathing an inward sigh of relief at her small smile, he did the same trick again to the daughter in his arms, this time raising her so he could do it on her belly.

He loved hearing his daughter's chuckle. It made his chest constrict in happiness and is heart beat a little faster in love for the tiny baby in his arms.

He finally sat her down on his desk, directly in front of the small black and white monitor, effectively blocking the view from Max. He felt a tad bad that he was using his own daughter to prevent Max from seeing something but at the same time he really needed to. The last thing he needed was for her to rant about what he knew would the right thing at the end of the day, nor did he have the time at the moment to explain the positives of Deck torturing Ross.

Luckily his earpiece kept the sound off from the outside world. Even Max's superior transgenic hearing wouldn't catch what was being said. It was something he was grateful for. He however could still hear Deck interrogating Ross, and it sounded like it was getting rougher. He heard a cry of agony and was dying to check the monitor.

So he reached out to Nikita, "Ahhh…cootchie, cootchie, coo!" he sing-songed as he tickled her ribs a little. He was then able to check the screen quickly over Nikita's shoulder…looked like Ross had a bad cut on his arm…just like the five others before…no biggie right now…

"ALEC!" Max yelled, making him turn to her with wide eyes. "What?" He asked innocently while playing dumb to her inquire, "I am just… playing with our child okay? What's your problem?" he asked, going on the offensive.

"49 - Alec, is someone there with you? 'Cootchie coo?' Really?" Deck asked through the earpiece but instead of Alec answering Deck, he kept talking to Max instead, trying to also iterate to Deck that he had Max in the room with him…with the girls…still… "I mean seriously Max… I have a covert operation to oversee and you're mad at me for doing my job?"

"What covert op? And why don't I know about it?" She asked as she sat down with Nyx in her lap, still glaring at Alec even as she jiggled the baby on her knees. I know about nearly everything that goes on around here, why would Alec NOT tell me about this?

"Need to know basis Max and unfortunately, you don't need to know right now… I'll tell you later. I swear I'll be home soon, okay? But…"

At that moment, Nikita found the little black and white screen behind her, but she reached out to the pretty colorful wires instead. Alec was too late to stop it when she suddenly pulled the wires and the picture went out.

"Ohhh….SHIT!" Alec exclaimed as he hastily took the wires away from the baby before they went where they always did, into her mouth. It was something he was trying to get both his precious babies out of doing. He already had to replace a set of head phones from their hands he didn't want to replace anything in his office.

He didn't think that they'd have transgenic strength as a baby but they did. Well transgenic strength for a baby that is. Nikita had more than one occasion pulled wires apart while Nyx had more than on one occasion now broken a plastic toy. He pointed at her with a mock stern face as he sat the wires aside, "That's a no, no… that's Daddy's."

Nikita in question only saw her daddy making a face and found it funny. She giggled in response, now wanting to be like her daddy and his colorful language. "SHIT!" Nikita cried out proudly, clapping her hands and laughing, mimicking Alec's earlier exclamation almost perfectly and completely proud of it.

"What?!" Deck exclaimed in his ear and at the same time Max exclaimed, "What the…" She turned accusing eyes to Alec, "Our daughter's first word is 'shit'? Seriously? Alec you know how I feel about cursing around the kids. I can't believe you…"

"What Max? You can't believe I'd say 'shit'? I say it all the time. Granted NOT around the kids but I still do. It's a force of habit when something falls apart around here." He indicated the now dead monitor.

"SHIT!" Nikita squealed again and Alec rolled his eyes and sighed. Turning, he faced her and pointed down at her, "Now that's not nice… how about saying daddy? Dad-EE?"

"SHIT!" This time Max looked down at the child in her own lap. "Nyx?! Not you too!" he had a look of 'oh crap' on his face. Also wondering if she would be able to get them to stop saying it…at least till they were 17.

"Oh damn it to hell, this is NOT GOOD!" Alec picked Nikita back up and held her before she could get her little hands on something else.

"Geez Alec? Really? Potty mouth much?" like the first word didn't clue him in to shut the hell up when cursing in front of the girls?!

"Oh you wanna hear a potty mouth? Go…fu…" he knew he'd hear it later on but he needed her out of there, or rather all of them. He loved his family to death but now was a BAD time.

Max raised her hand, "No, don't you dare…don't start that with them here! You've already done enough damage."

"Fine! Gimme an hour…one hour Max…I gotta finish this up and if I can't, Mole will take over okay?" he amended.

"Why can't he take over now?" she demanded, still suspicious.

"Because I have him on guard duty and this is something I REALLY got to see through Max." His eyes were wide and pleading, like that puppy dog look he used to give in the early years when he really wanted something.

And it still worked. Damn it!

She sighed, "Okay, fine. ONE… HOUR!" She pointed at her watch, "And I'm timing you. I need your help with bath and bed time. Okay? I only have a few bits for the week left to wear and I can't keep getting soaked at bath time!"

"Okay, done. One hour…I swear…now..." He gave Nikita a kiss on the cheek and handed her back to Max, then reached down for Nyx, placing her with Max too. He gave Nyx a kiss on the cheek and then checked Max's attitude first before daring to kiss her. Since her hands were full of children, she couldn't do much to him...Right?

He bent forward, pressing a tenderly sweet kiss to Max's lips, looked her deep in her eyes and swore, "One hour… I'll see you then."
