Season 5 ep. 14
Max POV
I went to Deck's little apartment to find out what was said between him and Ross. It looked like the Three Stooges (what I now dub my mate, my brother and the piss poor excuse for a father figure) might have actually performed a desperate "hail Mary" maneuver to get the General to lay off on drafting us back into the military. But till the general backs away from this mission of his, Alec's gonna be couching it for a while cause this whole shit storm they created could back fire on us all.
Walking to his apartment, I barged in, not even bothering to knock, "Alright Deck you've had your rest now give me your report on what the hell was said between you and Ross. Start from the beginning." I demanded. Pulling a nearby chair up I sat on it backwards intent on making sure I got what I came for.
He sighed and sat up on the bed he was laying on, "Let me guess ... this can't wait till later?"
I smiled, although it wasn't too friendly. "Come on Deck, you know me better than that...Patience was never once of my strong suits so start talking." I dead pan, kicking his leg from my position. Not harshly but enough to get him to talk, "Fine. Alec had just taken out the X5 next to the office door..." he looked like he wanted to say something but didn't and went on with his 'tale of woe'.
Deck's POV
I chuckled a little at the irony, "Funny how I'm now giving you the report and not the other way around." Max gave a small shrug and remarked with a hint of sarcasm, "Yeah Deck, I'm tickled to death. Lay it on me."
(Flashback - after the interrogation of Ross)
Ross was starting to wake up. I yelled for Alec just as he took care of the female X5. I picked up Ross's shoulders and 494 grabbed his legs as I backed into the dickhead's office. Once Alec kicked the door closed, I threw his worthless hide into his desk chair. Now he was more attuned to his surroundings, "What the...?" he looked around the room. "Relax you're in your own office." I mumbled under my breath.
I glanced over at 494, who was checking the perimeter outside the window, just moving a couple of slats on the blind so it wouldn't be so noticeable to anyone outside that someone was watching them. I trained him well. "494, go out and guard the door. Make sure no one gets in here until we're ready."
I realized I snapped back into CO mode without thinking. Force of habit really. Years of being the CO to my kids, first Max's unit, then Alec's. When Max and her team first escaped Manticore, I did spend the next six months actively trying to find them. But ultimately I still had a job to do. I was hired by Manticore for my military expertise. So once Alec's unit (the twins of my unit) came out of Psy Ops, I took over their training, having to put the search for Max and the others on the proverbial back burner.
Not that I gave up entirely of course. I had people searching that reported to me their findings.
But now I realized my error when 494 bristled at the command and turned his hazel green gaze on me. I stared back, not dropping my gaze. Hoping he would realize he shouldn't usurp my supposed authority in front of Ross.
I could see the calculations behind his eyes. Especially when he glanced down at Ross's prone form and back at me. He gave a slight nod and muttered, "Yes sir." and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. As an additional measure, I walked over and locked the door, breathing an inward sigh of relief that he didn't argue with me.
A mark of a good leader, pick your battles and understand the big picture.
"I hope you know of the hell you've brought down on you and Terminal City as well. They won't be free come the end of this week. Transgenics will be American military property again, as they should be!" he snarled.
I shrug. "They will be free till they grow old and die of natural' causes."
He huffed out a breath. "No they won't. If they - " I cut him off quickly, tired of his yammering already. I suddenly leaned over his chair, my hands on the chair arms effectively trapping him there. "Let's get one thing straight you sorry assed son of a bitch. You're on my turf now. If you go near any inhabitant of Terminal City again, if you send anyone after them, I don't care if it's a friend or a friend of a friend, if I so much as smell your presence, this DVD goes public." I show him the proof of his confession.
His eyes narrowed, his voice deceptively calm. "You tortured it out of me, it'll be dismissed in seconds." he stated with confidence.
Shaking my head, I raise up away from him, then walk around his chair. Kind of like a predator might would do to a prey. At least it's the way it felt. He's mine now. "Technology is an awesome thing... a little photo-shopping to obscure damages, a click here and there to hide the fact that you were bound, and just moving to the final few minutes of our 'chat' where, yeah I admit, I was wired...And you confessed to raping and killing my wife... I have no choice but to turn your sorry ass over to the authorities."
"You won't get away with it, my guards - "
"Ah yes... Your guards will find out how you truly feel about them being expendable soon enough. I wonder how long their loyalty will last to you when they find out they're replaceable and replicable in in your eyes. And then guess who they will testify against in a court of law? Lay the ground work regarding your need to control and torture?" He was definitely furious now, "I will find a way around this. You know me Deck. It won't end here."
"Yes I do...it's why I have this now...well, this is the fake one, but the real one is hidden away... may have your DNA on it to prove my point that you're nothing more than a lying sadistic murderer." I held up the ring, or rather a near perfect copy of it. Alec's lovely purchase at "Fabulous Fakes" was a god send. Ross's face went cold as he began ripping through ALL of his desk drawers looking for the real ring. I walked about while watching him frantically try to find that piece of jewelry that will tie him to my wife's murder...this is for you my love...
"You won't find it...Not now, not ever. It's in a safe location, believe that." I answered his roaming hands. He was becoming frantic, his only fail safe had been to dispose of or hide the ring, "Where is it Deck?" he demanded of me, "Well I think it now belongs back with me. She was after all MY wife...not just your victim." I spat in his face.
He went after me so I promptly pulled out the Glock I had borrowed from Alec. Once I had the gun pointed right between his eyes, it stopped his momentum toward me in a most assured fashion. "Yeah, I wouldn't do that if I were you..., in fact..." I rubbed my chin thoughtfully, "If I were you..." I looked to him, "I'd find the quickest way OUT of the states. I hear Rio De Janeiro holds no 'extradition laws'...Japan too for that matter." I smiled in knowledge that I had him, I finally had the conniving, lying, bastard.
"My advice to you Ross...leave the country...leave my kids alone but most importantly...drop the insane notion of drafting them back into the military... or else all my evidence against you goes public." Knowing I've won, I started to leave, but his words stopped me at the door. "You'll never get away with this Deck. Tell that bitch 452 to watch her back. I know your 'fatherly' feelings for her. Making her suffer will make you suffer, which is enough for me."
I turned back and found him practically smiling, "She will never see it coming... one day it will happen. You won't know when, you won't know how. But it will happen."
My fist connected between his eyes before I knew it and he crumpled to the floor in a heap. I sighed before rolling my eyes…Why do the bad guys always have to give damn monologues? I wondered to myself. Shaking the pain out of my hand, I unlocked the door with my good hand, opened it and stepped out to find a furious looking 494.
"He just threatened Max?"
"Yeah but... not the time 494. He won't do anything. He's all talk. We hold all the cards. Leave him to his fate."
We left out, met up with a running Krit as he blurred his way out of range of the X5's out on site, "What took you two so damned long?!" he bellowed.
"I had to make sure that Ross wouldn't want to tangle with us again." I took the tape recorder as proof, "What's on that?" Alec asked me, "Ross's jail sentence if he ever tries to come after you guys or Max for that matter." I state. I get two quirked brows but otherwise we left before anything further could be said.
Presently
Max POV
Wow...it was all I could think about, "So he was dumb enough to threaten me to you? And you recorded it?" he smirked, "Wow..." I really had a hard time now wanting to be mad at them. "Do you think he'll leave?" I ask. "He's a smart man, once he's exhausted his options which he will and soon of getting what he wants he'll have no choice but to leave the country. Be one step ahead of the government here in the states...like always." he muttered out at the end.
"Whatever...he finally bit off more than he could chew..." I surmised, "Please don't be mad at Alec any more..." I looked to him, "He did it to keep you and everyone else here safe. All that was on his mind was the family you both share together. At one point he even felt the need to go back and contemplated even going out and telling you, I convinced him not to in the end." he tells me.
I nodded, "I hope - " my phone rang, Gamble. "Hang on..." I flipped it open, "Max here?"
"It appears Ross has decided to take a leave of absence. At least that's what the rumor is right now." Gamble said, "He's leaving?" I asked, "Man packed up his office for the 'call of duty' area of the building. Said he received some disturbing news and needs to take care of business." he stated. I smiled, "Let me guess the way he was packing up means a LOT longer than a 'leave of absence'?" I had to ask.
"You got it. Whatever it was that Alec did may have just saved you guys. I'll have my people watch him for leaving the country if he makes it that Far." now I was curious, "If he makes it that far?" I asked.
"He was on 'tabs' with my people to begin with, with him leaving without giving the right people the exact reason why, only something of what he said, they will pull him back or if he refuses kill him." I was nervous a bit again, "When do you think he'll try to leave? There are flights I imagine that would take you out of Seattle and into another country." I tried to think of anything to help avoid getting the transgenics by his side killed.
"Very select few...I'll have my people take a look and find out. But mind you they will be the first to find out then I can tell you." I knew that much, "You're already doing a lot of go be tween's for us and I am utterly grateful for It." he paused for a second, after I spoke. "Gamble...?" I asked, wondering something was wrong. My hearing could pick up on the sound of him breathing so I knew he was still there.
"Alec is a good man to do this all for you...I'm no entirely sure if there are too many people out there willing to risk that much for the ones they love..."
I replied back, "There are...for every monster out there there's someone willing to fight back. What was that movie quote...right 'there are things that go bump in the night, we're the ones who bump back', or something to that effect." I smile and give a small laugh. "I wish I had met you a while back Max..." I blanched a little at his words, "Gamble...?" I asked, curious about it, "I'll get back to you soon." I looked at my phone then to Deck then back to my phone seeing as it hadn't hung up yet.
His next words made me realize he didn't know the phone connection hadn't been severed yet, "Wish we could have met before you were with Alec...maybe then we could have..." then the phone shut out. Wow...I'm floored.
"Okay I'm leaving and you, go see the doc about your wounds. They may mostly be from beatin' on Ross but I'm sure your hands took a beatin' givin' the beatin'." I surmised. "Then get some rest." I left out not waiting for a response. There had been more than one occasion where I thought Gamble may have liked me, it really became a running joke, even between Alec and myself. But that...granted accidental...confession just had me feeling almost bad.
"When did I ever give off those signals?" I asked myself out loud. Hands in the pockets of my hoodie, I walked back to HQ. I needed to get my mind off anything pertaining to the General for a least a few hours.
Sitting back at my desk I sighed and looked at the paperwork to do. Keeping track of who needed what, going through shipping orders, not to mention approving budgets for all of our small businesses. I just needed something to do that wasn't locked to Ross right now...images of Alec making it up to me for later on came through my head.
"Maybe..." I thought more on it, "He does owe me for not telling me..." my thoughts became more evil as images of him breaking through my tied bonds on the couch and taking over took the forefront of my mind." I have a dirty mind..." I mutter out, laughing in mirth over it. "A dirty mind?" I hadn't realized Syl was at the door in my office, "Hey." I acted like she didn't hear what I had just said.
"Whatever...you forgiven Alec yet?" I hummed, "I think he should sweat it out till tonight. What do you think?" I asked.
"The guys did what we both know at the end wouldn't have worked via delegations. Once Krit explained it to me I understood why." I nodded, "It's not the fact that he did it that bothers me, more or less that he didn't tell me." I explain, bringing my knees up to hold them closer to me in the chair I was sitting on, "At least you could legitimately tell Gamble that you didn't know." I nodded, "That reminds me..." I looked up to her, "Did you know he like, 'likes' me likes me?" I couldn't figure out how to term it without sounding like a school girl.
She giggled, "It's kind of easy to see. The man is clearly smitten with you, which is almost sad since you hold eyes for no one except Alec." she told me, "I over heard it when we ended a call earlier, I think he didn't realize his phone hadn't ended the call yet." I supported my chin on my hand, "Would it make a difference?" she asked, "No...Even when Alec and I were friends I wouldn't have seen Gamble as anything more than a friend." I admit.
"Then don't worry over it, pretend you didn't heard it and obviously he know you heard it...right?" She made sure.
"No the call had ended by that time, and I'm not bringing it up only to hurt him in the end so there's no point. It's just one thing for it to be a joke but to have him sorta confirm it..." it did boggle my mind a bit. "Anyways I came to ask you why Deck's trying to implement a scanning system for any new transgenic." I sat forward, "Apparently Ross threatened to try and have me killed by sending a transgenic assassin after me." she nodded, "But how would we scan for that?" she asked.
"If anything we'll cross reference them in the data base that we have a line in with Ross's computers. If anyone of them came from his base we'll know. I never did do that 48 window bit to try and get transgenics over to our side, so we know there couldn't be very many to try and cross over...so to speak." she agreed, "I'll go and see what activities been like over there. Maybe Ross'll be moving his best transgenics with him." I grimaced, "He'll have one hell of a time keepin' 'em away from the RED's." I had one hell of a time avoiding the RED's.
"Yeah, do you think he'd care though?" she asked, "I don't know...he might...but I doubt it. Bad thing though is if the RED's get ahold of one of ours, they could create a super soldier that's got pain tolerance levels that match the familiars." Syl looked to me with a mixed of pensiveness and wonder, "That can't be a good thing." I knew the worry she felt.
"Not unless their working for the good guys. We could have just traded one war for another if even ONE soldier lands in the hands of the RED's. We can't let an X5 leave with Ross on that outgoing plane." other thoughts now took a back burner, "See about all out going flights to out of the country in the next day or so. He'll want to leave ASAP." she nodded, "Oh and once you find the airport also see how many guards he has with him." she nodded and left.
Crap...did not think of the RED's if he leaves the country... "But the RED's are South
African...wouldn't they extradite him back to - no, if RED's found out he had a transgenic, they'd hold him till he could deliver the goods." Damn it! Just when I get comfortable! Deciding on it I call Alec to explain everything. "Crap..." he remarked, "Yeah...so what I'm gonna do is head out in a bit once we find out which flight he's on and get the transgenics off that plane." pause... "HOW? Those transgenics hate you!"
I looked at the phone with a small amount of distain, "Once they find out their boss is sellin' 'em to the highest bidder overseas I don't think they'd be too fond of hangin' around anymore, or going overseas to become metaphorical 'lunch meat' for a bunch of African scientists looking to do bodily harm to them. I don't even want to think about how they plan to extract anything from anyone." I shuddered at the thought.
"My thoughts to...okay once you find out make sure you take back up and a way to get the message to them with Ross's voice on it. I'm thinkin' they'll be more inclined to believe you that way." I agreed.
"In fact, let me drop the girls off at the nursery with Gem then I'll meet you in the armory, I'm sure Ross's people will be packing." I could already hear him moving about, "I can - " he cut me off, "Max you know I love you but when it comes to these transgenics that know no mercy thanks to Ross...you can handle yourself but against ALL of them if they decide to fight you...nope...I'm coming."
He hung up before I could protest, "Smart Alec..." I muttered shutting my phone.
Getting to the armory I grab a few knives and see him hide a Glock in his belt, putting his shirt and jacket over it. "You really think you'll be able to get through security with that?" I asked. "And you with those?" he asks...now we were both trying to figure out a way to get by security with our weapons. "If we can't what makes us think Ross's people will?" I asked him.
"Ross can say he requires his security to be armed. If he's got papers that come from higher up people, no one will question it." Alec explained.
"So how do we obtain those type of papers?" I asked...he grabs his phone, "Hey Dix, think you can forge us some documents so we can get by security with our weapons?" I raise my brow, "Actually that would be better. Thanks." he hung up then dialed another number, "Yeah, Sung, listen is there any way you could hold Ross on accounts of evading a murder charge for a few hours AND get us through security with what we have on us?" my eyes widened, as he began to frown, "But...okay..." he gave the phone to me.
"I guess my underground contacts are where I have my suaveness with." he remarked. I smiled, "Sung, Max here." I spoke, a bit of a smile to my face.
"Max what he is talking about. Ross as in General Ross?" he questioned, "Yeah, just hold him for a few hours when he gets to the airport. He's got a couple of X5's with him that I'm sure don't want to go where he's going. He's leading them under a false sense of security and truly they are in danger." I told him.
"Where to?" he asked.
"Out of the country, but the moment he leaves we can't really track him, especially once he hits internationally. We have no jurisdiction over there, nor is there anyone over here that we know that can keep an eye on him, and I'm not sending someone who's settled here to play baby sitter to a dirt bag, half way around the world." I ranted.
"Got you, but I can only hold him for so long, and what's this about getting through security?" he asked. Lots of questions, "We need to be able to get through security without being stopped for a weapons check." it was a lot to ask since it was an airport.
"You're joking right?" I was silent, "I'd have to be there at the airport to give you a clear through, because I can't get a 'black badge' for you in that amount of time. And that would be the only way to get you in without questions. Not to mention getting you one period would raise a LOT of eyes brows and buy me a black thunderstorm." Sung told me.
"Sung I'm not asking for a 'black badge', I'm askin' to get through security, please meet us there in an hour. We just need to get to Ross and his guards." he sighed. "I'll get you there."
I hung up, "We've got our in - what?" I asked as Alec seemed to be pouting.
"Logan's contacts still aren't fond of me huh?" I rolled my eyes, "Logan took years to gain their trust so he could make sure the world was a better place and that whole rap. Sung trusts you but he's not like your contacts that say yes to very little information. He's got to have a good reason or at least know that the person he's trying to stop is a bad guy." Ale nodded, '"Maybe I should have lead with ' Ross murderer a woman 20 plus years ago, we have the proof, can ya hold him for us?'" I dead panned, "What I said was sufficient now are you comin' or not?"
I walked out, knowing he'd be behind me. Calling Daniel I spoke, "Alec and I are headed to try and get Ross's X5 body guards, you and Cece are in charge. Hopefully there won't be any need for back up but just in case let Syl and Krit know so they can back us up." I heard a long pause before Daniel finally spoke, "You've got fine timing." he remarked, I briefly heard a giggle before movement.
I shut my phone in distain, "Was he -" I put a hand up to stop Alec, "Don't I don't need the imagery." he laughed, "You caught him when he was having sex with Cece, classic!"
"Shut it! Or you stay here, remember you're in the hot seat still." he shut up, and sobered up, "Fine." he consider.
Leaving TC, we made sure the girls were secured with Gem before exiting through the garage to the airport that Ross was at. We speed through traffic in record time, and went through two sectors before making it to the only airport that Ross would be at closest to him...it was also the only one he had a flight scheduled at. Getting there we spotted Sung at the doors, obviously waiting for us.
"His fight leaves in 30 minutes, you're cutting it close." Sung reprimanded a bit, "I'd rather have close than no cigar." Alec said. We both looked to him. "What?" he asked, "We need to get Ross and his bodyguards in a room, or try even to separate them which I doubt will be possible." I remark, ignoring Alec's odd word choosing, "I can't separate them but I can give you the room." I nodded.
Getting inside proved easy with Sung in front of us. His detective badge gave him easy clearance. We had easy access inside with him there, and in no time walked into the room with his bodyguards and the rest of his SIC's. I looked to Sung, "Airport was pissed at him anyways for being an asshole." he said, explaining how I managed to get the room with the transgenics alone as we though we wouldn't be able to.
They looked at me with hate, "452...494...working with humans..." one said, the Krit look alike, "You may sound like my brother but you sure don't talk like him." he pursed his lips, "I owe him for that hit I took." he remarked.
I looked to Alec and he merely shrugged, "I wasn't there."
"Just like you owe Ross your lives the moment he gets you to another country?" I shot back.
"Were going to serve our countries overseas." another remarked, I almost smiled, "Ross will give you up to save his life in heart beat down where he is. Any foreign country would pay whatever he wants to gain one of us. Ross would happily sell you to the highest bidder." I tell them, "We are government property." the Krit look alike said.
"No were human beings, with free will. I'm tryin' to help you here." I iterate to them.
"Help? Like you helped us by burning down Manticore? By taking us out of everything we knew and throwing us into the ocean? No bitch you helped yourself. You wanted out and some little 'outsider - inner' dream of yours felt that we did to. Some of us like being soldiers, some of us enjoy killing the bad guys." A female solider snapped back, "Bitch has got bite, is it bigger hand than mine though?" I questioned out loud.
She rolled her eyes, "You haven't gotten anything on me." she remarked, sassily.
I shrugged with my eyes, "Question is do you really have such faith in Ross that you'll follow him till he sells you to the highest bidder? Till he leaves you behind for dead? He sees us transgenics as tools to be used. Your full expendable in his eyes." my honest words have some of them looking around at others in question, "You really think we'll turn on - " I hold up the tape recorder and hit play cutting her off. Everything that I had stated before was on there, only in his words, his voice.
Five minutes later I knew I had nearly all of them, "So what kind of 'voice modifier' is that?" She bit out, refusing to believe it. "Like we can get ahold of that. Do you see how old this thing is?" I asked her. It was a really old tape recorder. Early 90's. Best we could get when our other money went to more important electronics, sides, it still works.
"She's lying! He said it under duress!" she snapped in anger.
"If that were the case why does he sound smug, hearty, like he's grinning that he has willing X5 slaves to his beck and call?" Alec answered her.
He stepped forward and I saw half of them there stand a little taller in his presence. I really do not know what type of soldier he was cause for them to still conscious or not be standing straighter just with him walking alone... "Most of you know me and you know X5 to X5, soldier to soldier, were not the enemy. Ross is, he could care less about what happens to us. Case in point Brin. 734." Alec started.
I grabbed his arm hoping he had a good point in bringing her up, we went through a LOT to ensure Ross didn't find out she was still alive, "He could have cared less that she was dead and wasn't she one of the SIC's?" he motioned with his hand around them.
The woman stood forward again, "With all due respect 494, the moment you sided yourself with the niner, you fell from your little grace you were perched on. The General sai - " I cut her off, "Okay what part of he will willingly sell you or let you die to save his own hide are you NOT gettin'?" I demanded. She looked to me with cold angry eyes, "I'm talking to 494." REALLY?! This bitch is gonna get it.
Flexing my hands into a fist I walked forward only to have Alec halt me, "You speak to my mate the same way you speak to me, with respect." her eyes widened, "And my NAME is 'Alec', hers is 'Max'."
I felt a tinge proud at that but we didn't have much time left, "Look you've heard the proof what more do you need? Cause once you go over there, we can't help you." I snipped out.
I saw several guys waver, "What if she's right?" one asked, "I am right. You heard the proof. We weren't designed to be chumps people!" I knew Alec arched a brow at me, knowing I was using a phrase of his but who cares. Then as if by near magic, three of them took their main guns off and said, "I'm not lookin' forward to being on some scientist's menu again." too many pokes and prods for him.
"You leave and the General will come after you!" the female hissed loudly.
"Nope, I think he'll be too busy being on the run." Alec said, his cocky attitude coming out. She looked to him, "He murdered someone in cold blood a while ago, and the past is finally catching up to him. Oh that and he's got some psychological issues that he can't cover up anymore." Alec smiled in glee. "No..." she really didn't want to believe it, "The faster to accept it the quicker we can get you guys to safety, cause I guarantee it if even one of you straggles behind after even a small wound he'll leave you for death." I affirm.
"If we get hit then that's our fault." She raged. "Were only human." I tell her, "We're not perfect." I admonish.
"Near perfect, but no not perfect." I arch a brow at Alec's words. "Come with us and we can guarantee you safe passage, real homes, normal lives and if you really want to be in the military that's your decision, were not going to stop you, but first step is away from someone who would willingly throw you to the wolves and not give a damn." the three came up further and lined themselves up while two more followed, both looking to us, their comrades then to the female X5 before dropping their guns and joining.
She gave the one guy a furious look, "Glare all you want, I've got a nice piece of ass that I'm starting to like and I honestly would like to stay and see how things go." he remarked.
Seemed there was only a few true blues that worked for Ross, "Did we happen to mention if he sells you guys to a foreign scientist you're looking at being torn apart and copied. I know the RED's are still looking to use our genetic materials to make their implants last longer." Alec told them. All but two were left. The bitchy female and a guy standing by her side that reminded me of a stone wall. "Suit yourselves." Alec shrugged before walking out.
I wanted to say something but I realized that some people just don't want to be saved. "Wait." the guy behind her walked forward only to get halted by her, "You are not seriously abandoning your post!" she have asked, "I'm am not seriously putting myself on a platter for someone to poke and prod at me to their hearts content." he snapped back. Judging by her shocked reaction he obviously didn't speak out much. Alec nodded, "Same old 562." I looked to Alec, "Sparred with him a few times, he's good."
I accepted that as he dropped his own gun, "Let her go." he said, "She's tried and true under the General. She was the first one he picked, she feels the most loyal towards him." he explained her nature to us.
I sighed as I knew she'd probably follow Ross to the end of her days without a fight. "Fine." we left out. it was like a slow motion bit happened, the second we walked out Ross was out of custody and seeing all but one of his SIC's and his body guards walking away with us. His face shifted to anger and confusion, UN able to formulate words to ask his most important question of 'what the fuck?' I gave him a smirking wink and a half assed salute with my middle finger, a 'fuck you' to the man. He got red in the face before the last X5 came out, presumably telling he of his other X's traitorous moves to join me and mine.
He was even more infuriated, "She will get you killed!" he roared.
"Just ignore him." I didn't feel like getting into a verbal sparring match with him, I just wanted to get out of the airport before Sung's pass to get us in via him ran out of luck. One guy made to turn around and shout something when I grabbed him by the shirt he was wearing and pulled him back in. "Don't bother." I warned. "He's not worth the air you breathe." I comment.
