I know! I know! *ducks head from all the shit getting thrown at her by her very devoted and angry readers* I promised you months ago that I was working on an update. That wasn't a lie. I was. I had almost the entire chapter handwritten out in a notebook. All that was left to do was finish it (I had maybe two pages left to write) type it up, and upload it. Well, long story short, the notebook either got thrown out somehow (we just moved a little while ago) or it's hidden somewhere so deep in this house that's it's now become a part of it. Either way, it's gone and so is all that damn work.

I set out to re-write chapter 13 immediately, and I started doing so, when for the first time in my life I was struck with an original idea while watching a documentary on the Great Sphinx that so completely fascinated me, I couldn't think about anything else. It haunted me day and night. So please do not hate me too much, because I love all of you so much and appreciate your words more than I could ever say, and also because I know how frustrating it can be to wait for an update – I'm a reader on here, too, lol – but I had to put chapter 13 down to write out this story that wouldn't hush inside my mind.

It's been six months and I have a completed novel at 97,000 words, and one-third of book two done. It was written by me and co-authored by my BFF Cari Missan (she's the genius behind some of the plot and my editor for the time being, lol, I do all the writing). Writing this book has completely and utterly taken over my life. I've spent thousands of hours on it in just over six months. Just the research that went into the subject I was writing about alone took over a thousand hours. No, this is not me being dramatic. It's been my life for six months.

Now, why am I telling you all of this, when it's probably only pissing you off further, as you think, "Well, if she had the time to write a damn novel, can't she just give us one chapter?" I'm telling you this because I want to share with you what it is that caused me to put Beneath A Moonless Sky on a temporary back burner.

Read it. Tell me, my dear friends. Was it a waste of my time? Do you still hate me? Or can you forgive me, and enjoy in this amazing gift of an idea I was struck with? I so want to share it with you. I only have 2 chapters uploaded, but I'll be uploading more in a bit. And please don't despair as far as Beneath A Moonless Sky goes. I've started tinkering with chapter 13 again and I am almost half done.

I know I say this over and over, but it's so true, so here I go again: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate all of you comments, help, and critiques more than I could ever say.

Here's a quick synopsis of my original story, which Cari and I are calling, "Reaching to Atlantis." If what you read sounds interesting, please go to the following link. I would love to hear what you guys think :-)

What if the mythological civilization of Atlantis is no myth at all? What if proof of its existence lies hidden beneath one of the world's most beloved monuments. . . .

Fact: In 1933 Edgar Cayce – who gave over fifteen thousand psychic readings in his life, eighty-seven percent of which have proved accurate – stated that a hidden chamber of ancient knowledge resides below the front paws of the Great Sphinx in Egypt. He called this chamber The Hall of Records, claiming it had been put in place by survivors of the lost civilization of Atlantis. Cayce said this Hall would be opened in our lifetime by two men and one woman.

Fact: In 1992 Dr. Robert Schoch, a geologist and professor at Boston University – having no knowledge of Cayce's prophecy – conducted seismic surveys at the base of the Sphinx, and in so doing, found a thirty by forty foot rectangular shaped anomaly just fifteen feet below its limestone paws.

Fact: The Egyptian government has denied permission to excavate since.

Twenty-one year old archaeological intern Katarina Hamilton, her renowned archaeologist father Frank, and adopted archaeologist brother Tony are going in search of the legendary Hall of Records. Prophesied by renowned psychic Edgar Cayce to contain ancient artifacts and forgotten wisdom from the lost civilization of Atlantis. If they succeed in unearthing this chamber of hidden relics, said to lie beneath the Great Sphinx, and it proves to date back to a civilization some twelve thousand years ago – the date both Greek philosopher Plato and prophet Edgar Cayce gave for the demise of Atlantis – it would predate any known civilization by over seven thousand years, and such a discovery would change history as we know it.

But their very significant excavation is not without its dangers. There is unrest in Egypt. A terrorist group named Azrael has been deliberately targeting and destroying ancient monuments across the country. Kat and her family will be working at the heart of Egypt's Crown Jewels. The Giza Plateau, on whose sand sits the Great Pyramids and Sphinx. The first place Azrael will strike if given the slightest opportunity.

Things take an extraordinary turn when a handsome young man named Eric Danbury unexpectedly arrives at their site. Immediately Kat finds something oddly familiar about his snarky smile and unusual eyes, drawn to him against her will. She strives to push the feeling aside, hopelessly in love with another – her adopted brother, who ardently returns her forbidden affections, yet whose love must be kept furtive –but Kat soon learns there is a profound reason Eric seems familiar and that together they share a connection which defies history, logic, and time.

A connection that will ignite the impossible.

For Kat is part of a prophecy, one which will unfold and alter her life and world forever. . . .
