please if any of those are your triggers and you still want to read careful there is no warming before hand other then this

it was early in the morning when Cass woke up he stretched his arms above his head while he walked into the living room. he looked around the room to see that Black jack was sitting at the table by the window the sun shinning around him causing the older male to be seen more as a black figure then anything else.

"how was your night?" black jack asked before taking a sip from his coffee putting the cup down on the little cup plate with a small 'clink'

Cass hummed to himself as he went to set down at the table with the older male, crossing his arms on the table before putting his head down so he was using them as a pillow, a small smile on face "it was good" he said as he looked out the window "had a nice dream"

black jack looked up from his book to look at Cass "oh" he said "what was your dream about?" he asked, wondering what the kid had been dreaming about that night, for as long as he had been staying here, for as long as he had been asking the same question each morning this was never the answer would would normally be a shrug or "does it mater?" kind of answer so as he watched his little house guest he wondered what on earth had gotten him to say an answer like that.

"i had a family, a loving family" he answered before he frowned, getting a blank look on his face "a family that loved and cared for me" it was clear in his voice that he was feeling sad now, it sounded like he was close to tears yet at the same time he was miles away from it. "i had a brother, a mother and a father there was the fights and argument's like a normal family but we all loved and cared for each other"

there was a pause from black jack as he looked back to his book, Cass was an orphan, taken away from his family at a young age since his father where abusive while his mother just never did anything to stop it, taken away from the only life he new shortly after his brother died by the hands of their own father. "do you think that will ever happen?" he asked as he kept his eyes on his book.

there was a long pause, the silence growing thicker the longer the silence and when black jack looked up from his book Cass was looking right at him, his head still resting on his arms and his eyes still glacéed with a small amount of sleep "not at all" he spoke slowly but not from sleep, his eyes half closed as he turned his head to look out the window again.

"why that?" black jack asked, he wanted to know more about how this kid's brain worked he could think of the oddest of things at times and his mood could switch with a snap of his fingers from happy to sad.

"because it was a dream." Cass whispered as his shoulders slumped slightly as watched the sky and the water from past the cliff.

~~time skip~~

it was only a few days later and once again black jack and Cass where sitting at the table, this time it was later in the day since they where sitting down for lunch and black jack started thinking about the talk they had about the younger males dream.

"do you think you can make a dream real?" he asked out he held a book in his hand and a cup of tea in his other hand, Cass had his elbow propped up on the table and his chin in the balm of his hand while he looked out the window.

"no" it was a simple answer but also one that got black jack to want to ask more questions, Cass was not a normal child at the age of nine he was already thinking about a lot of stuff that not a lot of kids his age think about weather that was because of what happened to him while he was younger or that's just how his brain would of worked any ways the doctor would never know.

"why?" black jack asked as he closed his book and crossed his arms over his chest to show that he was fully in the conversation with him.

Cass looked over to black jack "because a dream is a dream and no matter what you can't change that" he paused at this moment, it wasn't a long pause more like he was just trying to figure out what to say next so back jack was not taken back when Cass opened his mouth again "so what's the point in trying to make a dream real when all it will ever be is a dream?"

black jack raised an eyebrow at the younger male "but that doesn't mean you cant work on it" he said as he looked at Cass.

Cass turned his head so he was no longer looking at out the window yet he had only turned it enough that you would of had to be there and watching Cass to easily notice that he had done that, the light from the afternoon sun shined onto his pale skin making it take on an almost glow kind of light. "yes it does" he said his eyes half closed "No matter how hard you try you can not work on a dream"

black jack was a mix of confused and in awe, in awe since the way Cass had gotten the light to shine off of him while he talked in that slow, tired sounding voice he had "and why is that?" he asked

"well that's simple" Cass said as he turned his head so he was looking out the window again, the glow kind of light no longer shinning off of his pale face and into the darkish room. "Because when you start to work on it, it is no longer a dream but a goal."
