Chpt.30
"I'm in jail." Livy sighed, leaning against a concrete wall. She was wearing an uncomfortably short leather skirt, five inch high heels that she really wanted to kick off and a red tank top that showed off her midriff. Her hair was pulled up into a pony tail and her makeup was bold and heavy. She couldn't wait to get it all off and just soak in a tub or something.
"Then why are you calling me?" Damian questioned. Livy could hear some chatting in the background and figured that Damian was at a banquet.
"Because a rich boyfriend bailing me out would be great opposed to my father who is halfway around the globe." Livy informed, feeling the police officers eyes burrowing into the back of her head.
"What did you even do?"
"Got caught with a fake ID."
"Tt, Really?"
"I was working, okay?"
"Fine. I assume you are downtown, correct?"
"Yeah."
"Then I will see you soon." The phone hung up and Livy placed it back in place.
"Alright Ms. Todd, back in the cell." The Police Officer stated. Livy nodded and said calmly,
"Yes Ma'am." She stepped behind bars and let the woman lock them.
"So tell me Ms. Todd, what possessed you to purchase a fake ID and go clubbing?" the woman inquired.
"Dad was gone so I figured I should party." Livy shrugged, knowing that if she told the truth and said, 'I was trying to get some information about a pimp who mistreated his girls' she would not be believed. Livy looked over to see a man curled up sleeping in the corner of the cell next to hers.
I wonder what he's in for. Livy thought to herself.
"Mind telling me why you didn't even get a drink after being in the club for a while?" the officer questioned.
"I didn't really want to drink alcohol. I just wanted the experience." Livy smiled.
"Teens today." The woman sighed. "I swear, it's like they get stupider and stupider." The officer grumbled under her breath.
Just then, the door opened revealing… Damian. However, he came into the room in handcuffs and officer escort.
"Damian, why do I have this feeling that you aren't here to help me?" Livy stated, and Damian shot his girlfriend a glare.
"None of your business."
"This young man was caught with a fake ID in a nightclub." The officer stated, and Livy shook her head.
I said that I could work the pimp case alone. She thought.
"May I have a phone call?" Damian questioned, and the officer showed him to the phone.
"Who ya gonna call? Bruce'll kill you if he finds out and Tim would never bail you out." Livy smirked.
"I'm calling Grayson."
"Huh?" Livy looked over at the cell next to her where the sleeping man slowly started to wake up. It was Dick.
"Dick, what are you in for?" Livy questioned and the female officer sighed.
"He's in for public intoxication." She explained. Dick slowly sat up, looking at everyone in confusion, then slurred,
"Wassare yous doin' here?"
"Grayson you drunken fool." Damian grumbled. Livy's eyes then widened and a smile grew on her face.
"Wait, Damian, call Selina." She stated.
"Selina? Why would I call a trollop like her?" Damian snapped and Livy rolled her eyes.
"It's either her or Bruce." Livy shrugged. "But when you do call her, tell her that I'm here. She won't refuse if I need help." Damian let pit a frustrated sigh, but picked up the phone and called Selina.
"Hello?"
"Ms. Kyle, this is Damian."
"Why, what a surprise darling. And why might you be calling?"
"I need you to bail Livy and myself out of jail." Damian gritted out.
"What about Dick?" Livy questioned and Damian shook his head.
"Grayson needs to learn a lesson from this." He then turned his attention back to the phone. "Will you help us."
"Sure thing, kitten."
"Thank you." Damian hung up and then was escorted to the same cell Livy was in.
"So, looks like Gotham's finest have started breaking down more on fake IDs." Livy chuckled and Damian rolled his eyes.
"Tt. You think?" he retorted.
"No Timmy zats my sandwich." A voice mumbled and Livy and Damian looked to see that Dick was still passed out on the floor.
"I didn't know Dick was a drinker." Livy mumbled.
"He's not, but he was probably experimenting with different types of alcohol. His tolerance is a disgrace. If I were to guess, I'd say he only had about three bottles of light beer." Damian sneered. Livy looked over at Dick with surprise.
"Huh. You learn something new every day." Livy hummed.
Several minutes passed by with Damian and Livy going back and forth with small banter and Dick slurring out an unintelligible sentence here or there.
There was then a knock on the door followed shortly by Selina strutting in. She made eye contact with Livy and Damian, smirking a bit.
"I'm here to pay bail for my two dear friends." Selina stated, pulling a wad of cash out of her purse.
In a matter of minutes, Livy and Damian were released with Selina driving them back to Wayne Manor.
"So, what did the two of you learn?" Selina questioned while driving them back.
"To make better fake ." Livy mumbled while Damian said,
"To knock the officers unconscious before questioning about the fake I.D."
"Both are good answers." Selina chuckled, then questioned, "Livy, where is your father?" She knew that if Jason was around, he would have bailed her out without scolding.
"Somewhere halfway around the world." The girl shrugged. Selina could tell that despite the fact Livy feigned indifference, she still missed him. the girl could get lonely while she was alone in a warehouse.
"If you want, you can spend the night with me." She smiled and Livy nodded.
"Alright, that sounds cool." However, Damian stated,
"You could stay with me instead. It may be less dangerous." There was a tone of disapproval in his voice when he looked over at Selina.
"I'd be nicer if I were you, considering how I just sprung you out of a holding cell." Selina growled, glaring at the boy.
"I'm just stating the truth." Damian shrugged.
"Thanks for the offer, but I'm good with Selina." Livy grunted, shooting a glare at Damian. Selina was like a mother to her and the fact that Damian treated her like a criminal (which she kind of was, but not at the moment) made her a bit angry. "Besides, I don't want to be around when Dick gets released and comes home."
~*~*~*~*~The next day~*~*~*~*~
"Dami! Why didn't you spring me out! That jail cell was cold and lonely and they could have put someone really dangerous in with me!" Dick exclaimed and Damian just rolled his eyes.
"Tt. It was to teach you a lesson. Maybe next time you'll think before you become publicly intoxicated."
"Hey, I'm an adult. I'm allowed to have a few beers. At least I wasn't caught with a fake I.D." Dick stated and Damian smirked at him.
"I'm under aged and I can still hold my liquor better than you, Grayson."
Dick should have never decided to hold a drinking contest against Damian. He ended up puking in the bathroom after five drinks while Damian just smirked and moved onto his sixth.
