Chpt.41

"Damn Mister Freeze." Livy grumbled, her teeth chattering as she curled into the blanket more. The crazed man had managed to freeze her arm, making it almost go completely numb. Sure, she had managed to take the guy down with her one good hand, but now she was shivering from the immense cold that was left throughout her body.

She had managed to thaw out her arm, but the rest of her body was now extremely cold.

Jason was away in Peru, and she didn't want to bother anyone to make her tea or soup or to turn up the thermostat. So, she decided to sit in the apartment she had rented for the time being and keep as warm as possible. She had wrapped several blankets around herself and was wearing her thickest sweatshirt, socks, hat, and sweat pants.

There was a knock at the door, but Livy decided to ignore it. She wasn't going to move from bed and get even more cold.

There was another knock on the door and again, Livy ignored it.

Not to soon afterwards, there was yet another knock, but this time it wasn't on the door. No, it was on her window.

Standing outside at the window was Damian.

"C-come in." Livy chattered and Damian swiftly entered the room.

"Livy, do you know how many times I tried calling you?" he questioned, teeth clenched with irritation.

"Sorry. It's still on silent from the undercover mission I went on." Livy frowned, trying not to shiver to violently.

"What's wrong Li-" Damian's eyes widened and he got closer to her. "Livy, you're lips are blue!" he exclaimed, worry now very clear on his face.

"That doesn't surprise me." Livy sighed, but Damian shot her a furious look.

"What the hell happened?"

"I met up with Freeze. Now I'm really cold." Livy summed up her experience, then shivered violently. Damian's face melted from anger to worry as he ran over to the thermostat and started to raise the temperature in the room.

"I can make you some tea so you can warm up. Does that sound good?" he questioned. Livy was shocked how Damian seemed to know exactly what she needed, and smiled a bit.

"Thanks… that'd be wonderful."

Once the tea was prepared, Damian brought it to Livy, who's shaking hands wrapped around the cup and took a long sip.

"Thank you, Damian." she chuckled lightly. "You really are the best."

"Tt. Of course I am." Damian stated matter-of-factly which made Livy laugh.

"Oh yes, I forgot about the superior DNA and so on, my bad."

She had quickly gulped down the tea and Damian sat next to her on the bed.

"How are you feeling?" he questioned, and Livy sighed.

"Still a bit cold. Yeesh, Freeze sure can pack a punch." She said with a shiver. Next thing she knew, Damian was lifting up the blanket, and then was under them with her, his body swiftly wrapping around hers.

He was so warm compared to her temperature, which felt like it was quickly dropping. Against her, Damian felt like a warm furnace.

"Damian-"

"How are you feeling? Are you warmer?" Damian inquired, clutching onto her tightly and Livy smiled, leaning her head into his chest where it fit perfectly under his chin.

"Much warmer. Thanks, Damian." Livy hugged him just as tight as he hugged her. "Heh. What would I do without you?"

"You'd most likely die from doing something stupid." Damian grumbled, but then added something, whispering it into her ear,

"That's why I don't plan to leave you. You're mine, Livy. My beautiful but occasionally stupid vigilante."

"I don't know whether to feel insulted or flattered." Livy mumbled, but clutched onto Damian tighter when she shivered again. Damian made sure the blanket was wrapped snug around her, then tightened his grip on her in the hug.

"You should just feel loved." Damian stated, giving her one of his rare smiles.

"I do." Livy grinned, pecking Damian on the cheek. Damian then kissed her deeply, running his hand up and down her back.

When he pulled away Livy leaned her head back onto his chest and started to kiss his neck. She kissed her way up his jaw line and to his ear.

"I love you." She whispered in his ear and Damian beamed at her.

"I love you too." He grinned, then proceeded to kiss her again.
